Control laws wont do much. ...
No, "control laws" won't fix a problem like this.  The only fix is to recognize that long nutcases will arise out of nowhere from time to time and they will go out and do their thing.

"Control laws" will not control that.

Next, allow the people to protect themselves against this risk - fully - by allowing those who are interested to concealed carry.

Once this is done, the bad guy will always know when he faces a crowd of what to him are targets, that they may and probably will, shoot back.

Oregon DOES HAVE a concealed carry law, and does have the "Castle Doctrine."  So here the problem stems from the Community College itself having pacifist rules creating a target rich and safe environment for the shooter.

Everyone should be able to defend themselves in any case.  I carry daily.   I don't conceal either.  I have a full size on my hip fully visible to everyone.  18 rounds to boot.

Not only that I have had many people come up to me and say they wish they seen more of it.  Some say they feel safer while others say they dont.  But for everyone who knows me always say they want me around as I am one of the only ones in the area who never conceals my firearm.

As soon as the 2nd is gone, the 1st is next to go... The people behind gun control know it, want it.

Wonder if that fits in with the whole NWO thing I hear people talking about.   Looking at the big picture.  Makes you wonder if that really isnt part of some agenda somewhere.

"But hello Agenda 21. We meet again...."

You know, I can see this thing taking-off big-time...Again, with the direction we are headed, I don't want to imagine what this country - or world, for that matter - will look like in another 5 or 10 years.

I have no doubts this app will be very very popular.

Wow. I'm just at a loss for more on this subject right now...

Read the full article and the push back from the ladies... Stunning. I can't do much about people saying stuff about me online... But to have someone, anyone, knowing your phone number and build a profile of you, profile you cannot delete, is beyond absurd... People will think twice before giving away business cards to total strangers...

Attaching it to a phone number is silly beyond words too. I still get messages from people who are texting the wrong person because they wrote the wrong number in, so profiles could be set up on the wrong number. It looks like they will text the number saying a profile was set up, but nothing beyond that. I don't know why they don't require a code from the text to the phone for it to go live.

The whole thing looks like it's perfect for teenagers, perfect in that all the kids at school will be using it, and pushing the separation of teens to the limits, pushing them into cliques, and leading to increasing suicide rates from bullying.

... Or worse. Going "postal"...

All lives matter.

Black, White, Yellow, Red, Brown, Gold.   They all do.

Its funny though if you think about it.

They have black parades in my area once a year.

What if we had a white parade?  Would we be considered racist?  I have black friends im not racist.  Im just askin?

Peeple’s app isn’t out yet and it’s already hated (for good reason)

Launching in November, the Peeple app will let you rate everyone you know. Yeah, everyone.

Following an article by the Washington Post, revealing the real-life burn book, it has rapidly become one of the most hated apps on the internet (this week).

Founded by Julia Cordray and Nicole McCullough, the pair launched an online documentary series on August 9, following their hopeful 90 day journey of getting funding in Silicon Valley and bringing their “dream” to fruition. However, with some videos having less than 100 views, it wasn’t until the Washington Post interview was published that anyone really started to care what the pair were up to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-PmOPwP4tY

Although the app itself follows the formula of thousands of social apps – rating everything from your dinner to your bowel movements – it poses a very scary vision; Imagine everything you ever did was suddenly open to be reviewed online, without your knowledge. I mean, did McCullough and Cordray learn nothing from the tragedies of apps like ask.FM and Secret?

Whether their intentions are good or not, it really doesn’t feel well thought out. The pair have essentially created defamation-as-a-service.

And people are naturally worried. Unlike Cordray and McCullough who presumably are happy with the app’s open door policy and have nothing to hide, other people don’t feel the need to seek public approval for their life choices or behaviour.

As a self-described “trendy lady”, Cordray told the Washington Post that the app is about showcasing your character online. This is slightly different to what McCullough said – that as a mother of two, she wanted to be able research and decide who to trust with her kids.

Both are legitimate things to want to do, but we can showcase our characters on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram perfectly fine and still maintain a level of control over what can and can’t be seen. And when it comes to professionally researching people – LinkedIn and Google are perfectly sufficient tools, which can also be used in conjunction with other referencing tools and social media profiles to get a rounded image of a person.

When you drill into the app’s terms and conditions, it just gets worse. In the FAQ section, it states that you cannot remove yourself from the Peeple database, but the company “may consider this feature in the future.”

The site is quick to address concerns of negative reviews stating that they don’t go live immediately and won’t be seen publicly, only to people who sign up for the app. I struggle to see how that’s comforting. That means there is nothing stopping anyone from going on and bad mouthing someone else and the person could remain completely oblivious. Isn’t that like the definition of what bullying is?

And for an app that values public discussion and opinion, its founders appear to be backtracking on that idea, as an image circulating shows Cordray allegedly asking how to shut down comments on the app’s Facebook page.

St. Paul Police To Black Lives Matter: Block Marathon Runners And We Will Arrest You…

As Black Lives Matter protesters gear up to “disrupt” the finish line of the Twin Cities Marathon this weekend, debate has been growing over if and when arrests should be made.

City officials responded Wednesday, with Mayor Chris Coleman saying the group’s “threatened actions pose an unacceptable risk to runners, spectators and protesters themselves. To paraphrase an old adage, the right of anyone to protest ends at another’s nose, or, in this case, someone else’s feet.

“Therefore, I have asked (St. Paul Police) Chief (Thomas) Smith to keep all options on the table to prevent disruption of the race or prevent runners from finishing the marathon.”

During a news conference hours later, Smith noted that in the time his department has protected the marathon, “not once in those 33 years has that event been disrupted, and we’re not going to let that occur now. … There will be consequences, including arrests.”

Black Lives Matter St. Paul leader Rashad Turner responded briefly by text following the mayor’s statement: “We won’t physically stop ANY runners. We will be holding signs and using our voices.”

He earlier told multiple media outlets that his intention was to block the finish line.

“My hope is the marathon runners realize they’re not going to be able to finish this race and instead of being angry and complaining, that they join in the protest,” he told WCCO-TV on Monday.

Heroic Army Veteran Shot Multiple Times After He Charged Oregon Shooter

A heroic student charged at the Oregon college shooter and was shot five times as he tried to save his classmates, his family said.

Army veteran Chris Mintz, 30, was taken to hospital following the massacre at Umpqua Community College on Thursday morning.

His cousin Derek Bourgeois told DailyMail.com that Mintz faced Chris Harper-Mercer, 26, who killed at least 10 people at the school in Roseburg.

‘I was told he went after the shooter,’ Bourgeois told DailyMail.com.

‘There was no way he was going to stand around and watch something this horrific happen.’

Bourgeois, who lives in North Carolina, said no vital organs were hit when Mintz was shot multiple times, but he is expected to recover after spending most of Thursday in surgery.

According to his family, both of his legs are broken and he will have to learn to walk again.

[...]

Cooke then points out again that neither Obama nor Biden offered any specific policy proposals. They did the same thing that Halperin and Brzezinski do here — vent righteous indignation, then look around for someone to blame for a problem that almost certainly has no legislative remedy. Congresses under control of both parties certainly haven’t found any, and none of the proposals that percolate out in the minutes after a publicized shooting incident turn out to apply when all of the facts finally come out.

The only hint of a policy from anyone came from Obama, who praised Australia for their reaction to a mass shooting, and that solution was a massive firearm confiscation program. Democrats, including Obama, have spent the last 30 years claiming that they don’t want to take guns from law-abiding citizens, which may make next year’s elections a bit awkward outside of the coastal urban areas. And even then, Obama didn’t have the nerve to actually propose that solution. It’s not too difficult to figure out why, either.

This is crazy! The states is a really nice country but some laws I will never understand. Obama can do nothing about it.Very disappointing.

It's scary as hell but aren't we as human race strive for "perfection"? It's just a matter of time when we finally become robots, either we become them or they make us extinct. We already have some persons that can be classified as cyborgs/androids.

Does an ant colony be considered a perfection and should we, as the human race, strive to emulate one on a planetary level? Who should our queen be? Google?

We reached Mars while ants and bees have been doing the same thing, like tiny robots, for millions of years. That is not perfection. That is why Nature created us to be self aware and decide for ourselves.

We talk about ants and bees. Bees and ants do not talk about the human race.

Umpqua Killer Chris Harper-Mercer Attended School for Teens with ‘Emotional Disabilities’

Chris Harper Mercer saw the limelight given to Obama-supporter Vester Flanagan after he shot two reporters live on TV.

Chris Harper Mercer, the man accused of opening fire at a rural Oregon community college Thursday, formerly lived in the South Bay and attended a school for teens with emotional disabilities.

Records show Harper-Mercer, 26, lived in a ground-floor apartment on Arlington Avenue at 230th Street in Torrance with his mother, Laurel Harper, from 2011 to 2013. The owner of the building said he did not know them and neighbors did not recall them.

But current residents, greeted by reporters knocking at their doors late Thursday, were shocked to learn that the man suspected of committing the nation’s latest mass shooting had lived in their building.

“It’s extremely surreal,” said resident Shannon Medrano. “I don’t remember him. If I could see a picture of his mom, maybe it could jog some memory. I wonder what his experience was like here. This is not a big building. I’m sure we crossed paths at some point.”

Lists of South Bay graduates from 2009 published in the Daily Breeze showed Harper Mercer graduated from the Switzer Learning Center in Torrance with four other students. Switzer teaches students with learning disabilities and emotional issues.

A former behavioral aide at Switzer, who did not want her name used, said the majority of the students at the school are from foster, low-income and single-parent homes. Some of these students were expelled from other schools or had been in trouble with the law.

The school is divided among special needs students and those with behavioral problems.

BREAKING: Umpqua Shooter was not a Republican

Thursday’s horrific mass murder at Umpqua Community College in Oregon has everyone looking for answers and motives to how a young man became a monster–and some are jumping too quickly to conclusions.

Naturally, the media and other liberals have claimed the shooter, Chris Harper-Mercer, a 26-year-old, biracial man, was a Republican

At one point in his life, Mercer tagged himself as a Republican on his dating profile. Within hours after the shooting, CBS, Raw Story, Mediate, Heavy, The Daily Beast, and scores of Twitter users pounced all over this apparent revelation.

Hey, I have this really good idea.  The problem here is that this forum is unmoderated so people can say any disgusting lies they want.  We can fix this.  Here's how - just vote me in to moderate the forums, and then I'll ban people whom we don't like or want.  You know, it's for the common good.  Don't worry I'll figure the details on that out.  And everything will be a lot nicer because you won't hear or see a lot of negativity because they'll be gone.  I'm sure you understand that you'll have to stay within limits, too.  Reasonable limits, basically don't argue with anything I say and agree with my friends.   My friends will send me messages on who to handle different ways.  Some of them are secret friends and say outlandish things to try to provoke responses.   They help me find out who really isn't on our side.  If they're not, they're gone.
