@KTChampions, This is true. Portugal does have decent players, but not on the same level of players that teams like France, Germany, Belgium have. Ronaldo alone can only do much for them. Just have a look at the France team right now. Or the Belgium team. They are stacked with star players. Not that Portugal doesn't have star players, but a lot less than these teams. So finishing third in the Euro 21 group stage is not that bad as there were teams like France and Germany in the group.

Without Messi and Neymar, PSG is playing against Angers. The Angers team has performed very well this season. It was not an easy match for PSG at all. It has become more difficult not to have Messi and Neymar in the team. PSG is not attacking much today. Although 30 minutes of match-time is over, I have only seen 1 shot from PSG players so far. As a batsman, Dhoni hasn't done much in this tournament before the Qualifier vs Delhi Capitals, but as a captain he did a great job. It was a poor over from Tom Curran. He (Tom) did an excellent job till then, conceding less than a run per ball and picking up important wickets. But Dhoni had something else in mind. And the DC captain just looked clueless. Personally I thought that it was better to go for Anrich Nortje or Kagiso Rabada in the last over, because Tom didn't had many outings for DC this season. Anyway, CSK is just one win away from the trophy. And that will be complete turn around from their pathetic performance in 2020. Delhi lost for DC's weak captaincy. The last over should have been done with Rabada. Rabada did 3 overs and Ashwin did only 2 overs. One more over could have been done with Ashwin. Tom Curran was able to take 3 wicket so maybe the captain gave him the responsibility of the last over. But Rabada is an experienced bowler than Curran. |

While Raducanu has gained a lot of attention this year I am a bit obsessed with Fernandez,
in so far as how she got to the U.S Open final, her family background and her seemingly
positive outlook. She is currently also playing doubles with Gauff and they won their match
yesterday against 5th seeds Schuurs/Melichar. Its really great to see players in both Singles
and Doubles.
I have to say that Sasnovic deserved the win and she played better than Raducanu by a big margin and won 6-2, 6-4. Seems like Raducanu changing the coach has cost her the first match. Although Raducanu is higher ranked than Sasnovic who is currently ranked 100 in Women's singles and I'm curious to see how far Sasnovic can get. Defeating the US Open winner will surely give her the morale boost needed to go a long way. And Fernandez is also a very promising prospect as she had reached the US Open Finals only to get defeated by Raducanu but she got her first doubles to win in the Indian Wells Tournament and hope she can go a long way. |

There is one week left for the Leverkusen v Bayern Munich match. This is going to be one of the most delighful matches of the season I hope.
They have same points on the table and their clash will be an early final for the first half of this season. Leverkusen did get good results to stand in the second position but if they want to beat Bayern, not only in this clash but in the whole season, they have to word hard consistently till the end. Bayern are strong and have dominant power from main squad to substitutions so to beat them, it is a real challenge for any club in Germany. We watched a superb match between Leverkusen and Dortmund in this stadium this season which ended by 3-4. Bayern Munich are even more capable team than Dortmund as for scoring goals. Consequently, I expect a high scoring match and Bayern Munich seem like the close side to a victory.
You can not expect that Leverkusen will begin the clash as they usually do. Because the opponent is Bayern and it will change the approach of Leverkusen. Kind of pressure for them to prepare best tactics to begin with. They can not begin the match as they can beat Bayern down easily and Bayern with their smooth operations can score goals with counter attack. Yes, this match Leverkusen has some extra pressure compared to their other matches. They have the chance to get ahead of Bayern but that will be surely a very hard task. My bet will go for Bayern in this match. Bayern has a very good squad depth and Lewandowski and Muller can tear apart any opponent on their day. Though Bayern's defense seems a bit less strong to me compared to previous seasons, but Lewa can compensate for that I hope. Let's see if Leverkusen is good enough to give a fight to Bayern for the title early in the season. |
