You should get this information from the developers. As a rule, they give a certain time to exchange your mined coins for ERC-20 tokens. Follow the instructions provided by the coin developers. This means that it is very unprofitable for developers to support the POW algorithm.

Testnet Ethereum 2 has already been launched. I also want to mine Ethereum for as long as possible, but I need to evaluate my investment in mining, because Ethereum mining may end within 6 months, and there are no profitable alternative coins yet. And after the news of the termination of mining, the price of the coin may well rise.

Can you still build mining rigs with 6gb GPUs like gtx 1660s in 2022? For how long can this graphic cards keep up with mining? I'm sure they are better option over rx580 4gb, what do you think?
rx580 4gb is no longer on sale in stores. The gtx 1660s is a good graphics card for mining, but it will lag behind modern graphics cards. Calculate the purchase of one RTX 3060 / RTX 3060ti video card instead of two gtx 1660s video cards. If you have expensive electricity, then you will have high costs after you finish mining Ethereum.

???Traditional computer computing power
I saw that nodes are installed on mobile phones and earn money through games. https://axieinfinity.com/axieinfinity and similar games are installed on several dozen phones and farm the necessary tokens. A computer for these purposes is more expensive and consumes a lot of electricity.

|
|
In such a laptop, as a rule, one fan is installed, and its price is no more than $ 20. Mining will be profitable only if the payback period of the laptop is less than the warranty period. Better to buy RX580 for $ 500 and mine coins. This video card works without problems for 36 months or more in mining.

I think it's not about dying or not, many tokens, coins, having their own way to mine. Most of them using POS or Proof-of-Stake, or POW, and they have their own positive and negative sides.
So, No one will die, but more efficience the minibg process, it will alive till long time, let's talk about staking, many tokens will run for a long time, because they don't need another device, the systems will not be broken, so That's what I think
Miners are not interested in coin staking. Ethereum's staking profit is very small. The most important thing in mining is to find cheap electricity, and if this is not possible in your country, then it is better to do another business or invest in mining projects in other countries.

you are talking to crypto miners. we aren't average and we aren't typical LOL
No .. im talking about the OP , a person who trying to hide his 1500watts setup from the government And Im talking about that 1500watts 24/7 , what can get the power company attention , bc that extra 1500watts/hour 24/7 is probably way more than what regular user/homeowner/renter using in his area. If you growing weeds , police showing up at your door bc your electricity usage become way over average ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Do you seriously think that your energy company has enough capacity to investigate? In my country, a police officer is not allowed to enter an apartment if there is an increased consumption of electricity. And the employees of the energy company can only check the readings of the electricity meters as well as the installation of equipment to stop the electricity meters.

I read sometime that 3GB can mine ETH only if they are combined whit 8GB gpu, is this still true?.
The only GPU i could consider being rasonable would be 1060GTX. other old cards dont put the MHS for the power draw.
https://minerstat.com/dag-size-calculator4.547 GB how are you going to use on a graphics card with 3 GB of RAM? Use your 3gb graphics cards to mine Ethereum Classic de mid next year. In June 2022, you will be able to repeat the combined mining method 8 GB + 3 GB to slightly extend the possibility of mining on 3 GB video cards.

TonCoin gave a very good profit on video cards Nvidia 2xxx and 3xxx series, but when many miners found out about it, the profit decreases to average values according to statistics https://whattomine.com/gpus/On the one hand, all profitable coins will become known in a month or more, but this makes it possible for the first miners to earn + 50-100% profit.

$ 26 per Mh / s is very expensive. Video cards are cheaper in stores. But AMD loses on other algorithms, and the hash data on other algorithms is not the best. TonCoin = 1.65 gh/s ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ibb.co%2FTMVgZK5%2Fimage.jpg&t=663&c=Lvkbn69g8s9zBw) 2 хRadeon RX 470 4 GB give 28 mh/s on the KawPow algorithm. This graphics card lags far behind conventional gaming graphics cards.

Why mine Ethereum when you could buy it for $ 100-200? For example, I bought equipment if its payback was about 8-10 months, or maximum 12 months. I don't think that many miners bought equipment in 2019, when the profit was from zero to several tens of cents. Many miners had negative profit and turned off their farms. Check out the hashrate history.
It's funny, these new people starting to mine now think we are lying hehe, they have no idea what bear market really is. I have a theory as what they think, if they earn 7 usd dollar now, they think they will earn 3 dollars in bear market ehhe, no sheeps, you will not earn anything, you will pay to mine, only big farms with around $0.02kwh electricity power costs will be mining, anybody with $0.10 kwh electricity cost will pay to mine. Nothing will change in mining for many years to come, because this is a new business. Those who lost money on investments in mining are in no hurry to invest there, and beginners think that their equipment will work 24 hours a day without breakdowns and failures. I do not want to give advice because it is useless.

252 kwh/week =1008 kwh/month This is an approximate electricity consumption in my apartment, and I pay about $ 50 a month for it. Such electricity consumption can be provided by 2 conventional room air conditioners. In private houses, it is allowed to consume up to 15,000 watts per hour, so for me this is a very small value.
You are one of the luckiest one ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) 0.049$/kwh ... thats what i would like to have LOL
50/1008=0.049 , so you paying 4.9 cents/kwh ( 0.049$/kwh) with tax and everything in a residential are ... wondering what part of the world are you from ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) , definitely not from the US (link) ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) based on that electricity price you just mentioned ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Tried to found out where are you from based on THIS electricity price chart (link) , but to be honest w you , i wasn't successful ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Come to Russia to mine cryptocurrencies. My price is in the range of $ 0.045-0.05/kwh,the price changes depending on the dollar exchange rate, but the best place in Russia for mining is Irkutsk region. The electricity price is $ 0.014/kwh, and for retirees it is $ 0.07/kwh and there are no mining taxes. And do not look at the official statistics in Russia, as a rule, these are incorrect data.

Facing heat problem with my mining rig after adding 4 extra cards to the number, now not even my table fan can keep up I mean suppress the heat and this rig is in my living room, here are my questions
1. Are mid heats safe for one's health? 2. Is there any exhaust fan you can recommend?
If you have more than 5 hot video cards, or you use RTX 3080 and more powerful, then use a closed case, and install your mining farm in a different place. My mining farm is on the balcony and it doesn't bother anyone. This is an additional heater, and in summer it is very uncomfortable to be around. I use an air conditioner in the office. How is keeping mining rigs in the balcony safe? Too much of dust and humidity won't kill the GPU? I thought so that's why I don't bother to put my rigs outside, maybe I will give it a try now cos the heat is kinda too much for me to handle, some times I have to fully open my door room My balcony has double glazing. Do not allow moisture to enter the mining farm. Cover windows with reflective tape or protect your mining farm from direct sunlight. For fire safety, it is better to equip a place where there are no rapidly combustible materials: curtains, paper boxes with things, etc.

I've never seen one reaching 130MH lol, I have friends who build a 3090 GPU with 6 of them and their mining hashrate is from 110-120M max, though with GPU mining silicon lottery is always a possibility but they are rare with 3090s and if your friends 3090 is delivering that 130MH for real then it's silicon lottery, don't go out to buy same GPU because you will be disappointed
And if he is not cooling that ram while using 330 watts he will fry it. i use 280 watts and get 113 I bet my gear lasts a lot longer than his will. Lol that's true, 130MH on 3090 can ruin the GPU if it's overclocked, fair hashrate can prolong the life of GPUs I don't see any reason to OC them which put strains on them and shorten their lives, in fact I prefer 3070s over 3080 and 3090 Probably the author of the topic thinks that the memory of the Samsung is not heated, but this is not true. Ethash algorithm is highly dependent on the memory frequency of the video card. The best solution is used in the top versions of the Nvidia CMP series, which uses HBM2e memory with a 4096-bit interface.

i'm feeling this situation same as you, and many miner should be the same, when no mineable coin can handle if eth switch to pos
many coin developer dont not favor in gpu mining anymore, even zcash want to move pos like eth did, yes old coin only mineable with asic, for small miner we can switch other coin easy
Follow Ethereum. Now in the world there are no coins for mining that can take away the entire hashrate of Ethereum. There was a lot of talk about a new coin, but I think that there could be several new coins to distribute most of the hashrate, and most importantly, make old video cards unprofitable.

I'm hearing a rumour that GPUs are back in store and they are not scarce as before again how true is this? Also what advice would you give someone who wants to build mining rig from any moment from now?
The shortage of video cards ended a long time ago. I do not recommend buying mining equipment in December, because the prices are very high in stores. In mid-January, learn how to use a mining calculator and consider whether you are ready to wait several years for a return on your investment. https://whattomine.com/

1500 watts per hour is a small amount of electricity consumption for an apartment in a very hot country. Problems arise if neighbors write a statement to the police on you, then the police will already know what to look for, or they can then come with checks. The most important thing is that no one should see this equipment.
1500 watts , 24 hours per day , 7 days per week , 365 days/52 weeks per year is not a small amount of electricity !!! 36kwh/day , 252 kwh/week , 13104 kwh/year , and beside this usage he/she already using the average amount of electricity for that area , so its a extra ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) That 13104kw/year , can be around 1600$/year in average us electricity price , and i would not call that as a small amount of electricity usage even in a hot country ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) For education purpose HERE is a LINK or HERE (older stat) about average electricity usage from all over the word , especially I would suggest you to check out those " hot countries " usage vs Canada ! You will be surprised ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) and you might can learn something new .... And don't forget , google can be your best friend before posting something and want to make sure you posting the right information not some BS ...
