3481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reasons why they get it all wrong when trading. on: July 11, 2021, 01:05:57 PM
You have to be very smart, the market isn't a friend to fools.
Not really smart, more like knowledgeable perhaps? You've already won half the war if you know what you're going to enter after all. The other half is putting that knowledge to your advantage and practice it, after all, you can't exactly change the situation of the market BUT you can use the situation instead to favor your decision makings. Ofc, good decision making is also required but that would require time and experience in the trade since even with the amount of data you have, you'd still need to know what to do with it.
3482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: signs of gambling addiction on: July 11, 2021, 11:27:05 AM
Set a bankroll, maximum expenses for gambling for every session, adjust it to whether you play daily, weekly, monthly, or even randomly. Just take into account how much you actually play, how much you earn and play around with it. Once you exceed your bankroll at any given time, no matter the situation or occasion, stop and get help. It's pretty much my way of telling myself that, oh damn, something's wrong, I'm playing way too much now, overboard of what I should be playing at kind of thing. Don't even add your winnings tbh, just the standard daily limit is enough.
3483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the currencies in the movie are Bitcoin? on: July 11, 2021, 07:59:28 AM
Honestly, the only movie I'd only consider to actually be about Bitcoin is first, a movie about its development, which would probably be short, but if added with its purpose and it's kind of a makeup story of going against the government, then it'd probably work. But if you consider it, that's almost directly going against the current government, since you're plainly trying to advertise that the current system is bad, while Bitcoin could bring innovation to it, so I highly doubt anyone would actually make it.

Other than that really, it's rather unimaginable, since Bitcoin is a currency after all. Other movies would simply talk about Bitcoin in a small part and not really the center of the story in most cases.
3484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: have you ever play or won from a crypto exchange lottery? on: July 11, 2021, 06:26:55 AM
Well, it looks legit enough. I took a peek at their Twitter threads plus a random bunch of search results and it seems like it's true enough, just that, the chances of winning are quite abysmal, just like how lotteries are usually anw. You can see that only quite a few players actually share them winning big amounts, and most people even share them winning only 0.5 or less even if they entered and used a pretty big amount of tickets.

This is also what I know. I have not seen a crypto lottery which gives a larger jackpot amount than offline lotteries. But it is understandable because offline lotteries have much high numbers of participants. But winning is about millions in USD. Crypto lotteries have very limited participants that's why the jackpot is also smaller. And what's even sad is that crypto lottery tickets are more expensive than offline lottery tickets. But the winning probability in offline lotteries is lower than in crypto lotteries.
I don't think winning probability changes much even if there were a lot of players that joined in? It's a matching of numbers after all, so it's entirely up to you. Even if there were a million people or only a single person that entered, the odds would still remain the same and only the price pool would change as you said.
3485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most profitable gambling strategies, what are they? on: July 11, 2021, 05:34:05 AM
Playing big once then stopping. I managed to make back then my $50 to go up to $100 and sometimes $150 whenever I played, and played in the meaning that it was at most one or two rolls. I mostly play crash and Dice, dice I just go in and let my luck do the talking, while in crash, while I sometimes go in blind, I sometimes check out the results of the few matches and make my play based on that. Baseless, I know, but I move to my own liking after all, what can you do about it?

Granted I've lost more often than I won, but hey, I've never gone past my bankroll of $50 per session so it doesn't really hurt me that much. Plus, any winnings I get would be recycled for the next session anyway.
3486  Economy / Economics / Re: How long will it take for CBDCs to become a reality? on: July 10, 2021, 11:20:27 AM
Well, it's already testing in other countries afaik, especially in China. Though it's still debatable whether other countries would actually follow, at the very least, there have been baby steps from other countries starting up the adoption. Tbh without an actual sample of sorts of what CBDC would like, it's hard to determine whether citizens would actually accept it or not. If it's just fiat hidden behind their "innovation" to make it as CBDC, then it wouldn't actually take that long tbh, since the framework has been set since long ago already. I'd reckon half a century or so as the maximum time needed?
3487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fighting Game Betting on: July 09, 2021, 04:29:29 AM
Never really bothered to look for some so I'm not sure, but try looking up sportsbook when Evo comes in, should be rather easy to see if they actually accept it or not. Evo 2021 starts at the beginning of August, so maybe you can check their announcements out then when the roster comes out, then sportsbook would probably start accepting bets for it by then.

Though I highly doubt it actually has one, since the tourney is open for all and a LOT of players would probably enter by then. Fighting games encourage a lot of players to enter and join tourneys since it's rather quick after all, compared to FPS and MOBA competitive matches.
3488  Economy / Economics / Re: The first rule of investing is saving on: July 08, 2021, 10:49:34 AM
And it's such a simple rule and yet, some people still can't understand it. Yes, investment is something that could really help you in the future, but it's not really something that you'd want if your current situation is stable enough. Yes, it's unfair, but that's how the world works. At the very least, you should prioritize stabilizing your own financial situation, instead of adding another burden to it. Investing is simply a burden if you're killing yourself while doing it.

It'd also make a life a lot easier if you only bought stuff with your savings, and not money obtained from debt. Debt is a sort of last straw thing that you would only get if you're really stuck in a hard place, starting out investments isn't one of them.
3489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin caused the mass production of altcoins and air coins on: July 08, 2021, 08:33:52 AM
Nothing new tbh. Bitcoin brought innovation, but it doesn't mean that people would accept it as the only one, hence they make more, most of them being suitable for their own purpose, some of them just riding the hype, while some of them taking advantage of the hype to scam others. And hey who knows, there may actually be a better product in the near future, no one can really tell. It's not like every pioneer was the best when they came out, some were easily overpassed by better developers. The start matters, yes, but the one to last till the end is still the winner, whether they start early or late.
3490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will people who ban Bitcoin in some countries give up Bitcoin? on: July 08, 2021, 07:47:27 AM
Well they'd definitely have a harder time trying to access centralized exchanges but I don't think it's enough to make them give it up. If they had absolutely no choice though then giving up is the only option though I don't think it's possible for that "absolute" to actually happen. China though can be difficult to escape from if you want to trade, but it isn't really impossible, just pretty hard. It all depends on whether they think that holding on to Bitcoin even with the ban the country has is worth it or not.
3491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin comes from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? on: July 08, 2021, 06:46:23 AM
Well, it simply means they don't understand it. That's it. Unknown things are simply things waiting to be known, to be understood, to be discovered. Using something to completely bypass that process so as to satisfy the self is simply running away from the root. It's quite funny how developed the internet is already, and yet there are still more people that are ignorant or are willing to be one since they can't be assed to study themselves and have to spoonfeed everything to them.
3492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there really a lot of money to be made trading bitcoin? on: July 08, 2021, 05:31:22 AM
It all depends on your performance. Even a street performer would earn money if they were to play wonderfully, what more a trader that knows what he's actually doing right? Even corrections and dumps would be opportunities as long as one actually knows what they are doing. Naturally, even the best traders would lose out though, so losing money from trading isn't anything new. Heck, most traders would consider it as a success if they didn't actually lose, and profits would only come after considering whether they'd even break even or not.
3493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambler? on: July 07, 2021, 01:44:24 PM
So you think life is a gamble? I laughed a little at this. Life is a choice, we can predict with common sense when we are adults. I think it is very far to compare life with gambling activities. If you believe in the creator of the world then you must believe our path is already set but we can try to change that path by trying. Unlike gambling, we guess and we just surrender to the final result.
I mean isn't it? Heck, the moment you can already say that that was a result of a gamble. Not about parents making children or whatnot, but rather the situation your family was in when you were born. Also creator of the world? Set path? Kinda bs since you're already contradicting yourself. The path was already set and yet you "can" try to change it? Then there was originally no path in the first place, it was just you blaming a probably non-existent being for whatever situations that happened that wasn't your fault.

That would be very important to me as a company commissioning a signature campaign, too, honestly.

If you actively advertise a product and are paid very well for it, you should also be able to identify with the product. Some time ago, a screenshot was circulating here where a user explained that he doesn't like gambling at all, but at the same time wore a gambling signature. Of course, something like that should absolutely not happen, it's like me wearing a McDonalds shirt and telling on the street how harmful fast food is ...
Still happened though Grin. Well, nothing we can do about that, advertisements are that kind of type, after all, even if you don't really like them, you still gotta do it since it pays you. A McDonald's shirt certainly doesn't pay you, so I don't really think it matters much when compared to advertising.
3494  Economy / Economics / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you decide to invest in for the long-term? on: July 07, 2021, 11:29:44 AM
Bitcoin would probably be the top answer, but if you want other options to spread your portfolio, go look up the top coins in the market. They should be in general good investments in the long-term and if you even manage to find a good project that you can invest in for a few months, then that's even better though looking it up would take a LOT of time imo. If you're looking for only a single coin though, then Bitcoin. It's pretty much proven its worth throughout its existence of 10 years.
3495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Million dollar win on $15 parlay whoa on: July 07, 2021, 08:23:10 AM
I even think it is pretty common that people only report their winnings and hide their losses. I had a friend who told me literally every weekend that he won a parlay but lost none. As I have a clue about betting and parlay betting, I know that's impossible for several weeks in a row. I asked him what his losses were and he always denied there were any... Come on, you don't just only win with parlay bets, there is just no way.
I mean it is kind of stupid to actually consider losses if you were thinking of gambling as simply for entertainment purposes. It's just like other games, would you really consider sharing your losses instead of your wins? Not really right? It's pretty normal that people actually only report winnings, not to mention the media. Losses literally make up almost the entirety of an ocean for example, nobody would actually enjoy listening to how someone lost ngl. Even as a method to convince someone to stop, it isn't really that effective.

I think it has inspired me now, lol.. maybe I'll start putting huge parlay so one day I'll be able to make a fortune in gambling. They say no one wins in big parlay but that's the proof, when you are really lucky, nothing is impossible and I just can't imagine how the owner o the bet feels while watching the game., especially the last leg to settle.
Be careful though because parlay is a difficult one to win from, this person was just at the right place and right time and that he won this big. Remember that this isn't a thing that will happen to anyone, this might not even happen again for a really long time.
Up this. Parlay is probably one of the hardest (if not the hardest) things to win from. It's like asking to find exactly $5 in the middle of nowhere when you're in need of exactly $5.
3496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a ESO (Employee Stock Option) on: July 07, 2021, 07:18:50 AM
No. Most employees would probably just invest on their own after they've planned out everything after they get their money. I mean, I would. It's not a bad idea don't get me wrong, but as others have said, Bitcoin is way too volatile and they shouldn't really risk it. Even if they plan beforehand, it'd still be a lot better for them to do it themselves if they want to, since they could afford to micro manage it themselves. Unless the said option gives out bonus features or something, then they could think twice before deciding.
3497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why can a piece of news from the Chinese government affect the price of Bitcoin? on: July 07, 2021, 05:35:04 AM
Because it affected the people, and people are the ones who demand Bitcoin hence it affected the price of Bitcoin. In reality, it shouldn't have that much of a huge effect on the market tbh, it's just that most investors are quick to judge and decide, not really bothering if it would or even should affect the market. As long as two points of notice are in the news, Bitcoin plus any negative idea, then they'd immediately agree for some reason without really even understanding if it actually has an effect or not.

Long story short, people get affected by news, and they affect the market.
3498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take for a game to "hook" people on: July 07, 2021, 04:34:29 AM
Are you talking about casino games or games in general? Cause in games, in general, is very broad, there are story immersive ones (most heavy games one are these types) and then there are puzzle repetitive types (like Plant vs Zombies) and casino games should fall towards the latter. Ofc, it isn't like there are only these two types, there's still a broader lot of genres out there. Casino games are engaging since even if they were repetitive, they bring a freshness of sorts? That makes it addicting. Not to mention that it includes money (fr, the latter takes up most of the reason tbh).

Though if you consider table card games such as poker, now those are quite fun and addicting since you play against other players and what you get isn't always the same. It feels like it's a new type every time you play it or something? Simple but has depth kind of thing.
3499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some interesting ways you've introduced bitcoin to your friends? on: July 06, 2021, 03:08:53 PM
Gambling! Not really the best way, but hey. It started when I had a campaign that paid on their crypto site accounts, I started trying out some games with the paid amount since I was too lazy to pull it out, not to mention that I was met with a few games when I entered, had to try it no? Stayed for a few weeks then when my cash ran out, invited a few of my friends to try out crypto casinos and went ahead to put more funds into play.

There was also a case (this time it was me who got introduced into it) where my school mate was using the school's library to run some type of mining machine. Was never sure what coin it mined exactly since I only heard tidbits from the friend of this person, so I got curious.
3500  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is cryptocurrency bullish in the long-term on: July 06, 2021, 01:29:44 PM
Well, it is loved by the people right now and I reckon it wouldn't really die off for a few more years. We would actually see it stabilizing into a steady price once the supply reaches close to its peak since that simply means supply increase would now be locked. Tbf though, most people invest in Bitcoin due to its past, its history. Starting from 0 to a price of 5 digits? Who wouldn't think that it's a way for an easy profit? Well, it'd be those that haven't exactly entered/tried trading. Some people though do believe that crypto has the potential to reach higher values, and it's due to Bitcoin being, well, Bitcoin.
