Another win by the Chicago Bulls but yet another win that was a very close call. I’m not sure what’s going on with the Bulls but they seem to keep blowing huge leads in the 4th quarter.  It’s kind of an odd deal and I’m glad they’ve been making these come backs but they can’t keep this up for forever.
3482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 27, 2022, 01:52:16 PM
I however can’t believe the Niners one. They are just so overrated imo, but they came out to play and beat the mighty Rodgers. (He should be embarrassed).

I was surprised that the Niners won, also, but it would probably be more accurate to say that the Packers lost.  I don't know that they're over-rated, they've been the underdog in both playoff matches and won them both.  Maybe they're under-rated?  I am glad that the Rams knocked out the Bucs, because I really don't think the Niners had a chance against Tampa.  But they've beaten the Rams 6 times in a row, and that makes me think they do have a chance at making it to the super bowl.

Yeah in hindsight maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised at all that the packers lost. Let’s face it, you can argue Rodgers is top 3 all time but the guy is constantly underperforming in the playoffs. He really needs to have more than just one championship by the time it’s all said and done.

As for the Niners, I still dont think they are very good. They knocked off two good teams in the Cowboys and Packers but these teams also are a bit of choke artists. I still don’t see them beating the Rams but we shall see!
3483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is valuable? on: January 27, 2022, 01:45:10 PM
Exactly one of bitcoins most valuable features is its scarcity. The fact that only 21 million will ever be made..if you think about how many people are in this world, it just goes to show how truly scarce it is versus so many other coins (or even the US dollar).  All these coins with unlimited supplies are just silly.
3484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor has Acquired 121,044 BTC at $3.57 Billion on: January 27, 2022, 01:41:55 PM
On CNBC yesterday they posted a stat of all of the publicly traded businesses that have significant bitcoin holdings and of course Michael Saylors Microstrategy was number one. They posted it almost like as a way to mock these companies due to the big dip. We shall see who will have the last laugh.
3485  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Introducing BCmint.com Physical Bitcoins 2020 on: January 27, 2022, 01:39:41 PM
Agreed, can't really trust anyone selling things on here and I do the same putting in portion of my paycheck to these coins.  If the creator scams it will suck but I will still be comfy sleeping at night.

Why take the risk? There’s also a big difference between risking your bitcoin in these coins and risking your bitcoin with coins like Casascius or Kialara who are both two well known makers , everyone knows there names and roughly their location with years of trust built up..all that matters.
3486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling In Crypto on: January 26, 2022, 04:20:36 PM
Recently I have started to gamble with crypto, and other coins. Looking to speak with anyone who has had similar experiences. I find it much more effective than gambling with fiat. Let’s use this thread to discuss pros/cons and how us users can improve it!

Thanks!

I think the main difference of using crypto versus fiat money is the ease of transactions.  Using cryptocurrency is a lot faster and more smooth than using fiat in my opinion.  Before bitcoin was implemented often using offshore websites would take weeks to months to get a payout.  They also would send checks from shady looking offshore banks.  Using bitcoin makes things more private and just smoother overall.
3487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 26, 2022, 03:52:00 PM
People who compare fighters payment in boxing and UFC and say that UFC fighters deserves to earn more, what could you say about payment in ice hockey and field hockey? Both sports require puck, equipment and stick. Top NHL players earn 10+ millions per season. Field hockey players get around 100k. Or compare soccer player payments with Australian football payments. Unfair again? Cheesy

I think it all comes down to who's earning the most money for the sport/sports owner/team etc.  I have heard that UFC fighters are a bit underpaid but I am not very well versed on the subject so not sure if there's any merit to that or not.  I am curious if the UFC has some sort of "players union" type deal like other sports do (baseball/basketball/NFL etc) where they can help fight for the fighters (no pun intended) to receive more fair contracts.

Well I will start out and say I really don't think this will happen but a man can dream.  Sean Payton with 3 years left on his contract with the saints just announced he is stepping down from coaching the saints.  Giants just so happen to have a coaching job open.  Payton was qb coach and the OC years ago....please GIANTS make it happen.  Give the saints what they want to release him and offer Payton the keys.  I mean, if it takes money I got 5 on it.

Get out of here with this nonsense  Cheesy This coaching genius doesn’t want to come to a dumpster fire that is the New York Giants lol. I have to say part of me is bashing this idea because I am hoping that he will want to come to the Bears eventually lol.  I wasn’t really surprised to see him step away if we are being honest. No Brees is tough and life is short.
3489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: January 26, 2022, 01:53:46 PM
That’s pretty impressive my friend! I wish I had diamond hands that strong. At this point I’m quite sure that I’ve sold several million dollars worth of bitcoins and of course wish I hadn’t done so but with so many ups and downs it was hard to know where bitcoin was heading next all these years and when you have several thousand percentage gains it’s hard not taking some off the table.

Peter Schiff is such a joke himself. He’s an absolute clown. I have followed him on twitter for some time just to look at all his tweets and laugh. Yes while bitcoin had been down of late it’s been very annoying seeing him spout of more and more nonsense but I’m more than confident we will be the ones having the last laugh.
3492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ever get regulated on: January 25, 2022, 11:14:47 PM
Those who said no are wrong. Now technically you can always buy and sell OTC ( Over The Counter) which can be done completely unregulated but if all governments were to ban bitcoin that would mean they’d not allow for exchanges to be operational in their countries and that would ruin bitcoin. Period.
3493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 25, 2022, 02:12:41 PM
Hey guys, who ended up winning your fantasy football league?  Looking forward to next year already!

DireWolfM14.

I'm going with Bengals, Packers, Rams, Bills, yeah Brady is probably going to screw up this bet but that's fine, no risk - no reward.

I was definitely bullish on titans s at -3.5 but the bengles look like they came out to play tonight.  If titans lose tannehill instantly is on the hot seat.  They are a win now team with that squad and tannehill might be hiding them back.  Maybe they try to go in and get russ next year?

I think the only reason I picked the titans was because they kept seemingly winning by what I feel like was a lot of luck, but they had all theirs stars for this game and I figured the bengals luck would run out. I’m glad the bengals one though. They deserve it and have such a bright future. I however can’t believe the Niners one. They are just so overrated imo, but they came out to play and beat the mighty Rodgers. (He should be embarrassed).
3494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 25, 2022, 02:07:06 PM
Kind of an ugly win by the Bulls last night. At one point they were up almost 30 points and only ended up winning by a single point vs one of the worst teams in the NBA. Of course DeRozan had the night off but I think the bigger issue is that both Alex Caruso and Lonzo Ball are going to be out for possibly two months. This is a big kick in the nuts as that’s two of the three starters. Hoping they can continue to play decent ball until they are back.
3495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No regrets for the NYC Mayor receiving his first Bitcoin paycheck during the dip on: January 25, 2022, 02:02:11 PM
This was an intelligent reply, this guy is clearly not a dummy. Sure he is technically down some since he converted his US dollar denominated salary in to bitcoin, but he knows this is how markets work. They go up and down. Now Of course the hope is bitcoin will become more stable, but this will take time. I thought this was a wise response from the mayor.
3496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investor Psychology on: January 25, 2022, 01:57:00 PM
This isn’t just how things normally go for bitcoin but this is how things normally are for all markets. I am constantly getting calls from clients when markets are doing very well or even at all time highs wanting to invest but when markets tank all they want to do is sell. People are too overcome with emotions and often let it guide their investing.

3499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT a replacement to the Stock Market/ traditional investments on: January 21, 2022, 10:03:22 PM
When we talk about the traditional investments we have to consider the fact that the investors does need a huge sum of money to start in that direction. Very often do we have to forget about the idea of investing because the people do not have a certain amount of money saved especially during the covid. For me I do consider bitcoins as an investment, a long term plan because I cannot sit and purchase stocks and other things like gold and property. I do think it's important to differentiate it but at the same time it is dependent on your personal usage as well. The volatility is something essential as well since without Volatility we won't be able to see profits as well. It's all about the timing .

No, this is a very common misconception and simply not true.  Many stocks can be purchased for a few dollars, same as mutual funds or ETFs.  Bitcoin is at 38k per coin, but yet you can still buy $25 worth or say $100 worth.  Same thing applies with other traditional investments like stocks.  Many stocks aren't very expensive per share plus you can buy fractional shares. You can buy a gram of gold for less thank $100 dollars.  Now sure land isn't cheap, but that's a more outside the box exception. If money is tight then purchasing bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies is the exact type of investing you should NOT be doing.  Volatility is not needed for profits either.  It can be helpful or desirable in certain cases, but it's not needed.
3500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: January 21, 2022, 05:57:24 PM
I'm glad to see an outlet asking about these important features. I chose licensing in the poll but I can't really say that any of these options are necessarily more important that the others.  Licensing is of course very important. Types of payments accepted also one of the top things of importance that can be offered. Speed of payout is also one of the most important factors.  For a long time before cryptocurrency wasn't accepted as payment so it took forever to receive payments, adding bitcoin has been amazing!
