34901  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 13, 2015, 06:44:22 PM
So, my four units are supposedly on the truck for delivery today... But they also were supposed to have been delivered yesterday but they were held up by customs, who wasn't working...

Now they are showing that there is a duty due because customs or UPS classified them as an 'power supplies greater than 500W'

...

No end to the inanity from every party involved.

sorry that they got you for customs fees.

what did they charge?

34902  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: October 13, 2015, 06:19:46 PM
Rectified & smothed 120v AC is  93v DC

Hmm not sure what rectifier you are using but with a full wave bridge I multiply by 1.4

Rich

Yeah I think it is 1.4 x volts.

Not divide.

I wonder if an old school transformer to rectifier to caps can be stable.
34903  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S7 OVERCLOCK on: October 13, 2015, 05:48:36 PM
I'm not sure i"m gonna do it but i'd like to know how I can OVERCLOCK to the maximum SAFELY the ANTMINER S7?    Huh

If I had an S7 & if it was a 4.86TH unit and if I was going to overclock it I would adjust the psu to be 12V + 5% (12.6V) at the PCIE connectors then take it up a step at a time, check for HW errors and keep a close eye on the temperatures. Theoretically from the BM1385 data sheet about 725MHz should be possible, but with them reducing the spec for some Miners that is more uncertain than usual.

The above just my thoughts and in no way a recommendation, Overclock at your own risk. I am sure someone will hae tried it and have some real experience, but may not share until Warranty has expired.  Smiley

Rich

to follow up on this  here is a great psu on ebay on a great sale

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191698868004?

I ordered one  this is a 350 usd psu

http://www.trcelectronics.com/View/Mean-Well/RSP-1500-12.shtml

https://www.trcelectronics.com/ecomm/pdf/rsp1500.pdf

it should range from 10 volts to 13.5 and is 87 % efficient .  I should be able to do full volt testing with it on my s-7's

I do not know the seller and I hope he is good.

Also if you want to do voltage testing on any gear fuckups

 to youself
 to other people
 to pets
and property are all on you.

Not me for pointing out where to get a quality testing psu at a discount price.

91 blocks made today   in 17 hours and 40 minutes  6 x 17 = 102 + 4 = 106    so 91 is -15  we could be at 125 to 130 for the day.

-1 is looming.

I called DHL this morning.

Package is stuck in Customs in Cincinnati.  No progress since Sunday night.  The status went from an estimated delivery yesterday to "unknown".  Apparently Bitmain called and started a trace yesterday, due today.

I choose DHL because of Customs warnings with FedEx, and paid a higher shipping charge due to that.  Is UPS any better?

ups is better for shipment to NJ then fedex or dhl,but these are more expensive and if you purchased 2 or more you go over 2500 usd

that 2500 usd number can make :

fedex
 dhl
ups fuck you.

I ordered 3 s-7's all one at a time to ease the issues.

I would not order psu's mixed with s-7's for fear of getting one not the other.

And I got a shipping notice for my batch 2. but not sure it shipped.
34909  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: NEW: Hashnest PACMiC V3 - 0.666 BTC/THS on: October 13, 2015, 03:50:09 PM
v4 got an update (correction) now it is based on the S7
Still a bad deal either way.

At least its a better deal.  You will make back your investment as opposed to not being able to recover your funds.  Interest sucks compared to V3, but its better than nothing.

yeah I may buy some not sure but maybe.

What a nice surprise to see such a low / possibly negative adjustment!  Just shows how random it can be as Bitcoin price has actually broken $250 and we're staying relatively flat on difficulty.

yeah I was surprised to see this   and it looks like we will stay pretty good we at 300 blocks left and bitcoinwisdom finally is reflecting the neg numbers I have been talking about.  with only 300 blocks left we are in nice shape.

(-0.62%)

what I like about this is while you can miss out on your stick share if you are offline.

you never lose your accumulated shares for the entire 30 day/1 month  run. they will dilute but not vanish.

This encourages a 1 day rental  if you want to do so. or even a  1 to 5 hour rental for say 25th.
34912  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Oct 11 to Nov 11 Sidehack stick pool club. on: October 13, 2015, 01:07:35 PM
The new system sounds pretty neat! As a New Person (tm) I appreciate it's clarity. Sounds like I should be point just one stick under "Stick" and then my other ones under "Donation" now however yes? I'm currently running all four sticks under Stick because my cgminer JSON file is broken and i don't want to re-type in all the server and user info again.

yeah leave it alone  It can still work the way you are doing it.

First suggestion: have a pool that doesn't keep going down for hours and hours Tongue

Good thing mining wasn't effected, also only affected certain regions as it worked fine for others which has been fixed now Wink
Hmm that's not what someone posted in your thread.
Edit: including you.

going to keep this one post but delete the others as this is off topic.

34917  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Antminer S7 on Hashnest on: October 13, 2015, 03:08:14 AM
My crystal ball is a little hazy but I suspect soon all the S7 hash bought as a speculation will be sold. I see a large gap between bid and ask at Hashnest with buyers with largest bids between .0015 and .0017. If bitcoin price started trending down S7 price could easily crash from .0019 to .0016. Not to mention at current price S5 is the better buy as it is considerably more profitable. My bids are in under .0016 otherwise I would rather own S5.

yeah s5 = 0.000733
 and s7 =  0.001933

that ratio is wrong the s-5 is a bargain

or the s-7 is overpriced.

at 0.000733 an entire s5 = 0.84295 btc  which is under 210 usd

at 0.001933 an entire s7 = 9.39438 btc which is over  2254 usd

Thinking of cloud and pricing.  I remember you pointing V4 looked not near as good on PACMiC.

Did you figure out if PACMiC v4 is typed wrong?  Or if it is that much worse then V3?
the pacmic v4 is really bad deal. The best they are offering is s5 hash.

I just purchased 439 gh in s5

we have made 1659  blocks  we should have made 1667  we are currently  (-0.4799%)

back to neg!

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty      (+0.32%)   a little higher  then the real number above.

Bitcoin Difficulty:   60,813,224,039
Estimated Next Difficulty:   61,006,629,901 (+0.32%)
Adjust time:   After 357 Blocks, About 2.5 days
Hashrate(?):   438,219,187 GH/s

357 blocks left

so 2-3 days  closer to 2 day left.  We could jump as much as 1% for 2 straight days and end at +1.5%

If you read the thread for the s-7  some buyers say gear is due them on weds the 14th.

So maybe we are flat on the 13th and move more on the 14th.

All in all this was a lot less then I thought we would do.

Well maybe along with a 7% or 8% jump oct 15 to oct 29 maybe coins go over  275 which would be  about a 10% jump.
