I see so many members that doesn'exist anymore... In the past, people could delete their accounts[1], so this account may have been removed for some reason or perhaps a demo account.

I've been here for almost 10 months already, and since this time I was so confused on some members out here. I've wanted to look on all profiles but it seems that there are some that can't be viewed. I don't think that there are some restrictions for me just being in the Member Rank because I also tried to looked it on Vod's BPIP Website and still nothing shows off.
I also checked the profiles of my friends that had been banned from the past months and it seems they're still viewable.
Is there any reason that these users profile was longed deleted in this community?
Example is user ID: 2 (the one followed by satoshi)
5 (the one after sirius)
If there are already Some topics regarding this I don't mind leading me there and I will lock this thread as soon as possible.

Maybe just an off-topic but, JC why don't you put up a link to the Fit to Talk site in your signature? It will be much easier for people to get there.
One more idea, put up a list with links to all your projects and link it in the signature.
I still find project you have started and gave up on some time ago but I have never been aware of. You have a bad exposure, use the signature for it. It's powerful tool, you know.
The problem is, is won't fit on the signature space...  JC has so many projects that can't be counted on our hands and feet. So I guess picking the only major sites would be good

Same goes for me. As you will see my on Merit history I kinda getting it randomly for my posts, And yet I haven't started anything that can be of any help for us here. So sometimes I feel happy for getting Merits and sometimes I feel bad for myself for not getting any. Well, I do want to be a Legendary someday so I'm just sticking my ass here in this community and also I would like to see on how long it will lasts. |

This is the first i am seeing this, 2017 income is big, I believe 2018 income will be so massive because a lot of people join the forum this 2018, For me I think it will be a good idea the forum makes a donation to charity every year, it will help to rise the reputation of the forum and also contribute in making crypto go main stream.
Try to read the whole thread along with it's comments/replies. Theymos already stated this: No, I think that gross income will be roughly halved: the two main factors for this are my ban on ICO forum ads and a general reduction in traffic after the bubble popped (as has happened after previous bubbles). While non-ad user payments have become somewhat significant (whereas they were barely worth mentioning in 2017), keep in mind that both evil fees and copper member fees are (intentionally) tiny.
(There's no need to be concerned about this whatsoever, BTW. The forum's purpose is not to make money, there are plenty of reserves, and it would be easy to increase income if necessary.)
Imagine a headline on cnn saying Bitcointalk donates $100,000 to charity? It will make the forum to be respected anywhere it is mention both outside crypto space. Just a suggestion.
Just think of the expenses first before making a suggestion. Do you really think that these forum is making so much money? What's the big deal if new members shows up? Not all of them availed the Copper Membership? And! (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong) This community doesn't intend to be somewhat an advertisement for Crypto, it is meant for discussions relating crypto. That is what a forum should be. |

I've look into the account that was mentioned in the OP, because I was intrigued by his 4000+ posts in this forum, mostly a Member that has those number of posts is already a Legendary/Hero Member. But it seems that he was only registered here for about a year and hasn't contributed much in the community.
I was pretty curious on how did he manage to do that 4000+ post in just a year without having banned except for the current time that he was able to be punished.

the only thing that comes to mind is that red trust prohibits you to earn from wearing signatures but you are eager to try and become a merit source and "earn" that way
Lutpin already removed the Red Tag on mydayonliner, trust isn't the only thing that should be relied on, In fact OP has already done a good job here, although he failed on sime attempt to offer beeing an escrow. And I think it has nothing to do with his application as Merit Source. |

My greatest condolences on you buddy, for the reason that you've been also a victim of the Merit thing. Merit broke your life, it is really obvious on you. This is just a simple advice mate, to ease the pain, you can now just leave the forum, and have a good life again. These Merits will do nothing good on you.
I would love to see your friends to know whether they really changed their posting behavior and started being constructive, or they just had some friends of their own who helped them get through.  No need to guess it, In fact it is really obvious on them. |

This forum really needs some sort of dMerit or "idiot" button. This way, we can tag idiots effectively, so the general public doesn't actually think they represent this community.
No need for an "idiot" button for it is only an idiotic thing to have here. We already have an "Ignore" button for these spambies, just like what Jet Cash usually do. This is some kind of proposal of the spambie rank which can't be possibly be granted.
As for the OP, I doubt that you can do that all by yourself, perhaps you only intend to moderate some sections that really needs to be watched. Although we all know that there are only 3-5 boards here that we only have to clean and those places where the members that has to be demerited stays a lot. So, there is a big difference between 0.002btc (Copper Member) Vs 10btc (Donator Member)
Yeah, but on that time its still about $200 or something higher than that. So I think we will be having a 10x value of the Copper Membership which is about BTC0.02 or higher for this DONATOR status to be fair on those who bought it from the past. (I'm just using penny instead of money - even if its small or big amount) There is not a single reason why theymos should just make the Donator and VIP ranks accessible for everyone. It's meant to be something exclusive.

Why don't you reduce the price of Donator and VIP memberships? The current prices are simple unattainable, it's almost like you're intentionally making them impossible to reach. Are you looking to keep the exclusivity of the former members who donated when BTC was almost worthless? If so, why? Back then the amount they donated was less significant, but now 50 BTC for a badge is crazy. We would love to contribute towards the running costs of the forum, but copper membership is not enough, couldn't you implement something a big more desirable (but attainable).

Only Theymos can answer this question, unless he has already answered it in the past. Opinions of the community are irrelevant in this case, and constitute only poor proxies of the actual rationale. If Theymos has addressed this in the past, please do let me know, a quick search did not turn up anything. I think DONATOR and VIP Membership are NOW just for the old members here. And maybe that's why Copper Membership is the only 1 available now for everybody. Well, if someone here is a billionaire I guess he can still become one of those DONATORS/VIPs. but I don't seem to see that practical. It's now just a waste of money don't you think? What is yours ? I can consider that as phrases.
