3505  Economy / Goods / Re: Buying Eve Online PLEX on: February 23, 2012, 11:17:04 PM
1BTC per plex is definitely too low...
3506  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB isk on: February 23, 2012, 10:38:45 PM
Maybe that price is based on the btc price of past days, who know. Right now 3.85BTC per 1 plex would be like 19.25$ lol. Pure nonsense.

With current BTC prices i can sell mine at 2BTC now, tell me if you are interested

What about using more RAM?

Blockchain is like a GB and something big, just put as much as possible/everything on RAM and i/o problem solved. I see no point in having the hard disk crunch for hours while using only 50MB or so of RAM.
Maybe do so only when you have to download all the blockchain (current client know how much blocks have the blockchain and how much the client still have to download...so it's doable) and not like getting just the last days/weeks... and maybe put some buttons in Options... (ah, buttons... GUI... i would like a decent GUI... but alas, we can't even a wallet with a different name than wallet.dat...)
3509  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Looking for a new pool on: February 19, 2012, 05:37:25 PM
join P2pool.

Lol that guy want 2.5% of your mining income. Why you should give it to him? Why you should join a pool that KEEP all the transaction fees?

Using p2pool is easy, don't let the linux guide fool you in thinking it's like setting up a Stargate

Another scam. They are getting boring... Undecided

Well guys either move your btc to your address often or switch to p2pool...

sometimes payments are late.
Huh
Payments are instant! Generated's take 120 confirmations to be spendable - nearly a day. Could it be that?

The weird thing is that yesterday I was paid twice while I sat there watching after restarting everything.  Then after running all night there was nothing.
There were 2 blocks found in 6 minutes around 2012-02-16 02:37. Does that match?

My bitcoin client did instantly receive the few payments I was sent.  I know it takes a day for them to mature.

The 2 back to back payments were about 10PM east coast US time last night so that could very well be it.

BTW, I also had a bitcoin gui client crash yesterday.  Turns out I needed to use bitcoind to avoid a known crashing problem.

It sounds like I won't be getting the regular payments I'd grown used to with deepbit but on average I'll be making about the same.

Thanks for the help, I'll give it another 24 hours.
If you want to go back to pay 10% of your reward to deepbit, go.

If you want to stay here, you are welcome. Blocks will be found, eventually. And payments will come. After all that's the beauty of p2pool, no one can scam you.
3513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: community backed legal entity to defend bitcoin related projects is a must on: February 16, 2012, 01:05:26 PM

I'm not sure how it works in the US. In Israel, where i'm from, banks are regulated and can't refuse business without legal ground. About a month ago the regulator "released the banks from their duty to provide service for gambling sites" - http://www.yogonet.com/english/2012/01/11/israel-banks-can-refuse-to-handle-transactions-for-suspicious-websites
And take my word for it, Israel is not the most liberal country when it comes to human rights...

Just wait till somebody "up there" hears about bitcoin.  The Israeli regulator will whip up a bitcoin clause in the same way
faster than you can say Satoshi Nakamoto.

Maybe they will. Why just sit and watch it happened? And why letting the banks do what ever they want when it didn't yet happen?

It won't happen in the same way as there are rules in Israel against gambling and no rules [yet] against bitcoin.

And, such rules are not that easy to pass. They'll need to define what bitcoin is, to explain how it differs from facebook money and the gaming industry money, why people living in democracies can't buy bits with their money, etc. It will be even harder if we put up some fight.

Bitcoin is used by terrorists and criminals, it must be stopped for national security. Who use it must be a terrorist and must be arrested.

3515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why doesn't the LTC/BTC increase when BTC drops like SC/BTC does? on: February 15, 2012, 01:17:26 PM
Ignore SC

About LTC, it's related to BTC, if BTC price drops why LTC/BTC should increase? Sure, LTC isn't BTC, but they are totally related, they have the same economy etc... so there can be differences between ltc and btc, but if btc price in dollars change, it of course means the same for ltc.
