3501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Altcoin that is next to Bitcoin... on: April 27, 2017, 09:47:18 AM
Now that digital currency is becoming more and more popular in the whole world, there are lots of altcoins that exist in the market aside from Bitcoin. In your own opinion, what is/are the altcoin/s that will also be popular aside from Bitcoin and why did you say so?

always the same question here, the answer is the same litcoin and ethereum are biggest and most known, they are second to bitcoin now, they well deserve their spot, but i don't like either of them i prefer zcash or lbry i hope they get recognized more
3502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next $1 Billion Blockchain? on: April 27, 2017, 09:43:20 AM
for me zcash and decred have huge potential, i don't think any ico will have a billion marketcap, lisk is different though because there mining at least with dpos
3503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the block chain not as great as claimed? on: April 27, 2017, 09:41:36 AM
Once heretically questioned, why haven't big companies like Google, Amazon or Apple developed any projects with the blockchain, if this the technology is so great?

So far, there are no signs that these companies have ever dealt with the blockchain.

they have, you don't know about google and microsoft launching their private blockchain? amazon didn't and apple have their own money system with apple pay, but google is building something with the blockchain, just search with google like this https://www.wired.com/2017/03/google-deepminds-untrendy-blockchain-play-make-actually-useful/, google is messing around with deep learning and bitcoin
3504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: April 27, 2017, 07:00:27 AM
This is what I did:

1) Downloaded the clam client.  It was taking forever so I downloaded the block chain snapshots.  This took a few days.
2) Emptied out my Bitcoin wallet (transferred all the coins to my Trezor hardware wallet).
3) Imported my Bitcoin wallet into my Clam wallet.
4) Got a few clams because some of the addresses in my Bitcoin wallet had value on the distribution date.

Pretty easy.

There is a lot of information about this if you just search for it.  Try Google.  That is the search engine I use.

why only on that particular day there is a reason behind this?
Because it is by far the fairest and most efficient way to create an initial distribution of coins.  If you have an idea for a better way you can, of course, create your own coin using your method.

yeah i searched before posting, and on reddit they don't mention that you only get the coins from the 12th of the month of may, but you get everything prior the 16th of the month, look at this https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/2pjeh5/heard_about_this_clam_stuff_how_i_got_64_in/
3505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any Comment On My Rig Setting? on: April 26, 2017, 04:40:51 PM
Hey everybody,

Mobo: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 Intel Z170 Soket 1151 DDR4 3600MHz(O.C.) USB 3.1 > $180
CPU: Intel Skylake Pentium G4400 3.3GHz 3Mb Cache LGA1151 > $70
Graphics Card: 6xSapphire Nitro+ RX 480 > $2100
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 4GB 2666MHz DDR4 Ram (HX426C15FB/4) > $45
SSD: Kingston SSDNow 60GB 550MB-520MB/s mSATA SSD (SMS200S3/60G) > $53
PSU: EVGA 1200W P2 > $305

Total cost: $3000 with shipping, risers and rig setup etc..(I live in Europe)

Is it a good setup?

I'm using Skylake CPU because it's the best way to work 6-7 card on this Mobo.

your rig is too expensive for being only amd rig, amd rig are bought for $1600 or less now, why $3k?. that motherboard is too expensive, newegg is now shipping again the h81 pro btc rev 2.0, better to buy it there, and you can also cut something on the psu, the evga 1300 cost way less and has more power, being gold instead of platinum don't change much
3506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: April 26, 2017, 04:38:16 PM
I say immediately, probably no more than 5 years, currently paypal transactions are still larger than the bitcoin, this is because many of the banks that accept paypal, a time bank will be accepted and bitcoin beating paypal.
Not because PayPal is accepted in many banks or what, but, because PayPal is accessible with many banks to top up their money into the account. From its release, PayPal is simply not against the bank's ideologies because it's basically offering a service for paying things online, and that's why so far PayPal haven't faced problem with the banks. Really different if you're talking about bitcoin due to its decentralization ideologies and clearly against the bank.
Correct, Paypal is nothing more than an extension of the fiat and the banking system, that is why there are not problems with fiat, but bitcoin is different, it is not only a new coin is a completely different way to look at the economic system, and in this new view banks don't have a place, no wonder they don’t like bitcoin one bit.

paypal is not a money circuit it's just an intermediary, and i can't see the comparison with bitcoin, bitcoin act as a money circuit like visa and it's decentralized, which make it better, we should compare to visa and not to paypal, paypal feel more like an escrow to me that protect more the buyers and have added a protection to the sellers
3507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gnosis. Greedy developers on: April 26, 2017, 04:34:49 PM
The developers of Gnosis are being way too greedy.
They could end up with $12.5m and also own more than 50% od the coins as well.

Gnosis is an open source blockchain project, not a private company.

They can't make it closed source, yet they act as though it is. They need us to secure the network. We don't need them.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/64ch1j/gnosis_crowdsale_price/?sort=top

but isn't this like many good coins are sold now, ETH for example had a very big premine but no one complained about, decred also had a 800k coins premined for the dev plus all the airdrop, which i'm sure went to the same people, not fair distribution, there is no fair distribution in crypto it's all a lie, always few etilist have many coins and the other must buy their scam
3508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Market Cap: an All-Time High on: April 26, 2017, 04:24:07 PM
The combined market value of all cryptocurrencies in circulation has pushed beyond the significant milestone of $30 billion yesterday for the first time ever, underlining the ever-expanding interest in digital currencies and the blockchain technology. The altcoin market has soared since the turn of the year with the likes of Ethereum, Dash, Monero and Ripple making significant gains.

How much do you think the cryptocurrency market will grow?

but this is merely due to bitcoin that is incresing so much, altcoin in general are increasing against bitcoin, but not all of them and now again some of them are dumped only ethereum can lead the ship of the alt now, the other have very small marketcap which is hardly make any difference
3509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: April 26, 2017, 04:21:47 PM
on what is based the amount of clam i can get? on the amount of btc that were in my wallet or the amount of transactions?

Neither of those. It is based entirely on the number of different addresses you have which contained (non dust) funds on 12th May 2014. You get 4.6 CLAMs for each of them.

why only on that particular day there is a reason behind this? the coin was launched may 24, would make sense the 24th of the month if it based on that, and there is a way to see my hidden address on core? i want to see how many i have in that date
3510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC future after ETH goes to PoS on: April 26, 2017, 10:30:50 AM
Why should miners make the price grow? They sell coins, never buy them.

Probably switch to POS will make ETH less inflationary so price may grow.

this could be true at first, but then when buyers will accumulate enough coins for their interest from pos, the interest will be dumped and cause the price to fall, i see always this pattern when talking about pos coins, they are good at first but bad later, when the distribution will be centralized because someone decided to buy a big amount and get free coins from pos staking to dump on the market
3511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: April 26, 2017, 10:28:36 AM
is it possible to claim more clam from my doge, litecoin and bitcoin wallet, i have some bitcoin wallet that is unused now and had many transactions going on in the past, can i get something out of it or there is no use anymore? and on what is based the amount of clam i can get? on the amount of btc that were in my wallet or the amount of transactions?
3512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning developers already moving from BTC to LTC on: April 26, 2017, 10:19:07 AM
Its moving to LTC cuz is more easy to mine. I think

why? litecoin and bitcoin both use asic, to be mined, i don't see much different, but litecoin is adopting segwit why bitcoin not, this is a valid reason for them to move to litecoin

Litecoin has no real use? Clearly you are out of your mind. It is bitcoin. Faster, cheaper, Bitcoin.

could be but no merchants is accepting litecoin like bitcoin, so why i should use litecoin? just to pump and dump? and being faster and cheaper come to an expense, more orphan blocks and more prone to manipulation
3513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin for 2017 ? on: April 26, 2017, 10:15:14 AM
CLAM

Hi Burtw , Any reason for that .

only good thing about clam as many you want if you have old wallet form doge and bitcoin laying around that were used for transaction, it work with litecoin too, i don't know why the value is so good when everyone is claiming those coins for free and can dump easily
3514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit and Altcoin on: April 26, 2017, 10:07:48 AM
Now that Ltc is on his way to successfully  implement segwit.
Im asking my self is there are other coins that are planning to do the same, for now i Just know VIA.
any hints?

vertcoin is going to implement segwit too, i don't know why all this run to implement segwit, they think that with the segwit implementation their coin will get more value, but they don't actually need any block size increase

I think is just for the hype and value

all coins are adding segwit for that reason, for hype and increase their marketcap, now there is much talk about this thing, and having segwit can give you some new investors that invest in your coin, and no coin need segwit minus bitcoin, segwit is a trend now like it was with anonymous coin, masternodes and everything you can remember
3515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what is the best gambling site for investments? on: April 25, 2017, 04:45:35 PM
dice? the best dice are primedice safedice and yolodice, for gambling like sport, you have jetwin, and bitvest of course, and also nitrogensports which let you bet for esport, i really like this option
3516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum computing resistant coins? on: April 25, 2017, 04:38:19 PM
Even if Bitcoin forked and updated their keys, all previous keys "including satoshi's" will be rendered vulnerable and if they are cracked someone would be able to dump those early BTC on the markets. Upgrading the keys requires you to also have all keys from previous moved into a more secure key.

Thank You,
Viz.

this also make all the lost coins vulnerable, because no one can move those anymore, but perhaps if they hard fork to make the network resistant to quantum, they can also change something in the code to recover all those key, or better make them useless in the new chain, even so if someone with quantum want to break those old key he/she will have worthless coins
3517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do YOU support Litecoin? Why is it so popular? on: April 25, 2017, 04:36:14 PM
i don't support litecoin, because litecoin have nothing really to offer to the market, maybe it's a good coin to help bitcoin getting more recognized, but without a market that accept it, it's not different than other shit coin to me, but i admit that litecoin have some traction and could help bitcoin to grow or to follow the right way, like with segwit, litecoin is a bit like bitcoin, being the first in crypto give always the upper hand and make like your coin is worth more, just nostalgia for many
3518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay Your Credit Card Bills with Bitcoin in Canada on: April 25, 2017, 04:31:17 PM
If we take in consideration that bitcoin price is not stable and could raise more over the years? I wouldn't use it to buy or pay for anything honestly. I rather continue to use it as an investment and use fiat for paying bills etc. When the price become more stable at some point, that would be another story of course.

if you can use your fiat what is the difference in using your bitcoin? i mean with those fiat you could buy bitcoin instead of using it and with bitcoin you can dump if you need fiat immediately, i see no reason to hold if you need the money is it either bitcoin or fiat

I think it could be done here also in my country we can pay bills or credit card bills using our bitcoin wallets just send a support for the support and they will give you details where tou will pay the ampunt dor the bills.

yeah this is not new, bitbill.eu is a service that you can choose to pay bill, i think there are other like https://billpayforcoins.com/
3519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Opens the Door to Cryptocurrencies on: April 25, 2017, 04:30:01 PM
after japan now its russia's term to embrace the system, will see more to come in coming days as more investors and businessman will see
the advantage of using bitcoin core, another ath will shine for sure.
Notice that in Japan AFAIK only bitcoin is fully regulated, I don't know about altcoins. Russia is planning to grab cryptocurrency as evaluate it under one big umbrella term.
I wonder if they will prepare a list of good, supported and bad, potentially harmful, ponzi realated or scam cryptocurrencies?

they will support only big coins like zcash and ETH not scam coin like bitcoin plus or zcash classic and other shit, i think that russia is going to do this because they feel they can increase their economy which is suffering at the moment
3520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum’s Proof of Stake is 75% complete on: April 25, 2017, 01:18:47 PM
when ETH will go full pos other coins will have better value and allow miner to have their profit, otherwise all the nethash of eth will destroy any other coins, because etheruem right now have 20TH of gpu which is equal to 100k rig!, no other coin can take this hashrate, maybe they will pump ETH classic? could be

PoS will be a huge boon for ETH. Expect the price to rise dramatically when it is implemented.

How long till Ethereum POS algo changed?

Certain POW Blocks reached?

75% since end 2015 so i think by the end of this year ETH is fully pos?
