3501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a safe haven for criminals on: February 16, 2022, 12:58:21 PM
It's great that criminals can't hide behind the network of decentralized computers. It's comforting to see that cyber criminals are getting caught and thrown inside prison. The cyber criminals must understand that they can't run forever and enforcement agencies have tools to track them down.

I would recommend to read this article to get better insight on how DOJ had tracked them down.

https://time.com/6146749/cryptocurrency-laundering-bitfinex-hack/

I agree with you. Stealing has been romanticized for centuries in books and movies, so it's no wonder some people don't feel bad about robbing others, but at least they can learn through getting prison sentences for their deeds.

Here's another good article on the subject:

https://www.elliptic.co/blog/elliptic-analysis-bitcoin-bitfinex-theft

It's about blockchain analytics used to identify the thieves.

Overall I'm glad that usage of cryptocurrency makes the lives of criminals harder, not easier as some journalists say.

Congratulations to the winners of the valentines event giveaway , what time would this be announced? can't wait to see my name in the 5 winners  Grin Grin Joke.
~

I was participating in the Valentine's Day Givaway on Bitcasino.io's telegram channel, but I didn't win this time. Here's the lucky winners:

What I found interesting is that the post about the giveaway was viewed 5,258 times

while only 70 people commented with their Bitcasino username, which means the chance of winning wasn't that low. Next time, guys, don't forget to carefully read the rules and follow them. Basically, you are buying a lottery ticket not with money, but with couple of simple actions. Wink

Good luck next time!  Smiley

Matchday 26 is there already for FortuneJack's Majestic7. Don't forget to make your predictions, guys. It's free, but you can win some nice prizes if you are lucky.

What's your results with Matchday 25 btw? Normally I get 1-3 of them right, but this time even Harry Kane didn't score, so I got zero. Hope I will be more lucky with Matchday 26. Smiley Good luck to all of you, guys!

Even though those are just meme votes, I guess, still it is nice knowing that there are more people believing that bitcoin will reach more than a million dollar rather than those who believe that it will plummet back at 10,000 dollars or less.
Anyway, based on the current status of bitcoin price chart and its past history that has the same chart, I guess that it's price will pump later on but I am not sure if it will reach a new ATH.

What do you mean by "meme votes"? If you think that people were just betting 1 satoshi on "More than $1,000,000" just for the fun of it(like I did, btw Smiley ), them you are wrong. People were voting with their money. Look at the current situation:

96 bets are placed on "More than $1,000,000" and 140 on "$5,000 or less", and yet the outcome odds are 5 times higher for "$5,000 or less". That means only one thing: on average, people were placing several-fold higher bets on "More than $1,000,000".

~

Yes, I agree with you.

Currently, we do not have technologies for implementing classical teleportation (moving in the space of physical bodies).

However, it is possible to implement the concept of neurointerface androids.  Neural interface androids are robots remotely controlled by humans using neural interfaces.  A person will feel in the body of a neurointerface android, as if he himself were this robot (android).

With the help of neural interface androids, you can travel, have sex, dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, participate in fights and duels, and, of course, play in the casino.

At the same time, you can play offline casinos even during a pandemic.  This is not dangerous.

So you think implementing these neurointerface androids into gambling might be the next big industry move? This is interesting. I personally don't think we have such technology yet. I mean, it can be close to real feeling, but no way it will feel the same as in real life. If you could provide a link for a serious article on the matter, I'd really appreciate it because I'm interested in this kind of stuff, and I understand that with the current speed of technological developments I could miss a legit article published recently.

Doesn't matter how much it is worth, it is still NFT and if you are not interested in that part of the crypto world then you are not interested. It could be $10 and the people who are interested would be interested as well. So, this is not really about if it has any value or not it just is something that people do not care about, well some people and not all people.

We have a whole NFT community in the crypto world and it is a big niche that people are interested but for someone like me, or anyone who doesn't really care, it doesn't mean anything. I am not saying that it will be worthless nor am I saying you wouldn't make money from it, all I am saying is that it wouldn't be something I am interested in.

Whether you personally like something or not is irrelevant in regards to its value. We are living in a world where the price in USD represents the value of a thing. Bitcoin is a good example: many people hate it and speak low of it, but it's price shows that those people are just trying to ignore the reality.

And let's be honest here, even being "not  interested", you wouldn't mind receiving a $20k worth NFT as a prize, right? Smiley
3507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 15, 2022, 12:18:49 PM
The result of the UFC 271 was an amazing event and pretty much I was shocked by some results but it was worth it.

Israel Adesanya VS Robert Whittaker - WIN

It was a genius fight, Robert Whittaker doesn't stand a chance from the distance because Izzy is giving him leg kicks from the distance, and Whittaker is not checking on them or having any defense at all from Adesanya's leg kicks, and because of Israel Adesanya's reach this is 100% possible and effective against Whittaker, but still kudos to Robert Whittaker you can see that he improves his boxing, But it is not enough even though there are takedown attempts for Whittaker this kind of game plan is not effective against Adesanya because Israel Adesanya has pretty good takedown defense.
~

For those who, like me, missed the fight, you can watch it here until it's taken down. The quality of the video is not of the best, but normally you can't watch the full fight so soon in any quality. Also, as a top commenter said, "seeing the fights from this angle makes it feel like you're there live".

As it's been expected, Adesanya was fighting like dancing, beautifully and easily, taking all the hits like they were nothing to him. A well deserved victory, imo.
3508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When your freedom is taken, bitcoin and crypto is the solution! on: February 15, 2022, 11:36:10 AM
No need to buy it from the darkweb, the same way the ppl brought them gasoline in tubes, there will be people willing to bring them food and supplies, and they will be able to to receive a sort of payment in btc.
I'm sure there will be people exchanging btc for cash on the spot.

Now it's not only the truckers problem, it's everyone's bank account that could be locked/ceased at any time.

Keep in mind that their families home may be using the same bank account and a related card.
Keep in mind that people willing to accept or exchange bitcoin may not be there in each and every town. Not yet.
~

I'm wondering aren't we there yet, when a small entrepreneur seeing an opportunity of buying BTC at a favorable rate, just packs a bag full of cash and goes right there, right to the spot where he/she can do it? If you in need of cash you can sell something as valuable as BTC with as much as 10 percent discount and you'll be happy about it, but the buyer, of course, will be happy too.

3510  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | BEST odds across industry on Super bowl! on: February 15, 2022, 10:01:11 AM
I'm not familiar with Super Bowl, I have never watched this sport even once (poor me). I have no idea how to predict the score of this game. If you are familiar with this game and understand about this sport well, it is your chance to win decent amount of money.
I have never interested in this sport either, only in American films. But once I saw American women’s football on the cable sports channel. Hmm... It’s more spectacular and interesting. So I might suggest starting with this sport if you want to deal with American football rules.  Wink

I think it's a great advice. I'm trying to learn the rules of American Football for years, but the thing is that I keep forgetting what I learned because I don't watch that many games for the rules to stick in my head. But now I think I might be watching videos like this one or this one from time to time because they are really nice to watch. And this way I can learn the rules finally. Thanks, @xandry! Smiley

Yeah, I remember that post about 2 BTC on Rams at 1.49. It was the first thing I thought of when I found out that the Rams won. Congrats to the guy!

It's always a pleasure to see that such big wins are really possible, and that the winners do not need to worry about whether they will be able to withdraw the money, if they make their bets on such a reliable gambling platform as Sportsbet.io.

This guy was right about betting on two things: Rams win and Sportsbet.io's fairness. He won. Good for him. Smiley

Yeah the Grand Finale. I am sure most of the forum members already came to know about this promotion. Hope so they will take out time for “fun and earn” finale.

And yet very few forum members are participating. There were only 17 players at the tables yesterday. I really don't understand why poker players are reluctant to join in.

Look at the spreadsheet, guys, and you'll see that that there is still a good chance of playing in the Grand Finale if you'll start playing next Sunday. I have only 4 points myself, but I don't lose hope. Smiley And, dig this:

~
Every player who joined at least 4 of the 8 qualifying tournaments, will be eligible to play in the Small Final, no matter how many points they accumulated. You will receive a password for this tournament and don't have to pay an entry fee.  ~

And the Small Final means $500 prize pool with no entry fee. Still not convinced? Smiley

Congrats on taking down the tournament for the second time in a row, @arallmuus! Smiley
3514  Economy / Gambling / Re: Moonbet - Become the Owner of a Crypto Sportsbook & Casino on: February 14, 2022, 12:02:58 PM
~ I personally participated in all 3. In 3 months the income from these 3 staking was about 1200 dollars (based on the current value of the tokens). I got this number by staking the maximum amount available each time. Personally I have decided not to sell the tokens obtained from staking but to keep them until profit sharing begins.
~

This is interesting. I have two questions though:

1. If your 3 months income was $1,200, how much you invested initially?

2. You said you decided not to sell Moonbet tokens, but was it actually possible to do? I mean, I see very low trading volumes for MBET, and I wonder why is it so? Is it because people just don't want to sell them at the moment, or because it's very hard to sell them with profit?

That last minute assist from Traore  Cool such a beast

Congrats to all of you guys who bet on this event!

I keep visiting Sportsbet-Specials regularly trying to not miss any Soccer Blackjack, but sometimes, especially on Sundays, I have some other things to do, and I rarely visit gambling sites on Sundays. Well, I hope we'll have more BlackJacks during the other days of the week, because I'm not going to change my habit of staying away from the Internet on Sundays. All of us need a day off. Smiley
3516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a safe haven for criminals on: February 14, 2022, 09:19:58 AM
After the execution of court-authorized search warrants of online accounts controlled by Lichtenstein and Morgan, special agents obtained access to files within an online account controlled by Lichtenstein. Those files contained the private keys required to access the digital wallet that directly received the funds stolen from Bitfinex, and allowed special agents to lawfully seize and recover more than 94,000 bitcoin that had been stolen from Bitfinex. The recovered bitcoin was valued at over $3.6 billion at the time of seizure.

I'm wondering how much of that will go to the victims of the Bitfinex hack? I mean, it looks like the victims are not going to lose anything dollar wise, right? We can see that 75% of the stolen money were recovered, and in 2016 BTC was below $1,000, so I would say the robbed Bitfinex users have benefited from all of this at the end. And that's a very good news for Bitcoin investors, current and potential, overall. I think when they will process what's happened, Bitcoin price will go up because of the new demand.

~Poker is anyways going good for the players, they are enjoying the beer at last every weekend.  Cheesy
More than excited to see the new developments in the betnomi promotions.

Poker on Betnomi is real fun. Hundreds of people are playing there at any given time, and there are free rolls attracting more than 1,500 players! Basically, almost every hour there's  a free roll of a kind, but that's not all. Lots of attractive GTD tournaments with various buy-ins can be found there too, and many players are playing in them, so it's not like only freerollers are hanging out on the site.

And one of the most attractive things for Bitcointalk users is, of course, Betnomi/Bitcointalk forum poker series($2500 GRAND FINAL Whole field gets paid ). Join up, guys, and thank me later. Smiley

Hello @Betwrong, one of the matches of the round was updated cause of it being delayed, probably that's the case we're talking about.

Do you still get the same error while submitting the new entry? If so I will let the development team know about it.
~

Hello @Tornike.

I just picked seven goalscorers and successfully submitted my prediction. No problems or errors whatsoever. Thank you. Smiley

Who you guys got for Majestic 7?  I kinda feel good about these midweek fixtures.  It could be my lucky week!  Cheesy

My picks...

Coutinho
Gallagher
Bowen
Gray
Kane
Fabinho
De Bruyne

I feel pretty good with those names except for Kevin De Bruyne.  Sometimes it’s hard to pick which player scores a goal for City cos there’s a lot to choose from.  It could be Sterling, Silva, Mahrez, KDB, Foden, Grealish etc... etc.  Such a good team that couldn’t win the UCL.  Lol.  :/

Hey @tokeweed, I wish you good luck from all my heart, although our predictions overlap only in case of Harry Kane. This guy will score for sure, but what about the others? We need seven of them to score, after all. Smiley I also feel like it can be my lucky day. Btw, we can both win, right? Our picks shouldn't necessarily be the same, right? GL to us! Smiley
