3501  Other / Off-topic / Re: Question on: May 20, 2020, 04:40:31 PM
Is two flips enough to make that decision or be certain? I will probably flip it 3 more times, if it keeps landing on thesame side or mostly on thesame side then there is the possibility it's not that random... Will check the coin and what it lands on properly to find out the cause of the lack of randomness. If it's a virtual coin, I will suspect software problem.
3502  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 💸BTCNEXT BROKER - TRADING WAR CONTEST WITH LUCRATIVE PRIZE POOL 💸 on: May 20, 2020, 02:48:55 PM
So the exchange basically provides $1000 each for each trading participant? Is that actually real money or fake  demo trading money?  I wonder what will happen if a trader decides to sell a coin way below the real price to deliberately make the organiser lose money.
Wish kyc isn't required, would have checked this out.
3503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Mayor Wants to Re-open Casinos. Thoughts? on: May 20, 2020, 02:07:52 PM
Just wow Roll Eyes. I don't know how you able to ignore such thing. Yeah it is true that corona virus is less lethal than the other viruses existed but it's spread rate is no joke.

Common cold also isn't deadly and its spread rate is no joke. Most of us get it once a year.

Quote
That's what it makes more dangerous, hello? It won't become a pandemic for nothing.

It became a pandemic because the government officials overreacted. The bans are already being lifted.
The virus has been spreading in February and is spreading now. It's just not as deadly as they had thought.

There are unbelievably selfish people. If you are young and strong, you are probably not afraid of how lethal covid is even if you are infected. But are you not gonna consider those people around you or those who come in contact with you who are very vulnerable to succumb fatally to the same virus?

Just look at the numbers and you will see we are increasing to millions and millions of infections despite the lockdowns everywhere.

Those who feel vulnerable and feel scared can stay at home. It doesn't mean we all have to.

Well, those that are strong in "faith" (& are truely "protected")  would still consider those that are weak in faith and vulnerable.
If a good/reasonble law says wear a mask and practice social distancing, do it for the sake of others (even if you'll never get infected) so they don't get scared, confused, start copying you, or start behaving recklessly.
People who get infected from you, won't be glad knowing who is responsible for their misery

3504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin network knowledge poll on: May 20, 2020, 11:08:04 AM
Interesting poll.
I would say "I use bitcoin" (the coin) without running the node, but that certainly is not the right/secure way to use Bitcoin. I think full/reasonble participation in the network consensus with full node should be the right way to use it.
Well, running a full node is abit difficult, and I can't be the only one using bitcoin the right way while lots of other people can't.
3505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: May 20, 2020, 10:45:46 AM

I understand the sentiment of the others about Choosing A but are you willing to just see the world like this, waiting for unknown, without a specific timeline when the vaccine will be made? The effect of no-business can result in an economic loss as it plays a big role in every country. The effect might be as heavy as what the pandemic virus brings if the situation will last for several months or years.

I also like A but seeing the status of vaccine, and I know it's really difficult to formulate one even all world experts are working on this, it's a gamble to just wait for it. We need to see businesses slowly coming back and the sports industry is one of them.

As long as everything is set up properly, I'm sure everything will be fine.

The effect of no-business will result in much more than economic loss, people will not have what to eat, especially people in big cities! Or they will have what to eat, but they will not have money for food! I understand the fear from virus, but shutting down everything isn't a good solution for fighting against this invisible enemy!
Even with this few months there will be consequences for many, slowly getting back in the game is what everyone needs! I say protect yourself as much as you can, but you can't run from your destiny! Choice is simple, either you will go to work and risk getting sick (covid is not the first or the last virus or disease we are facing), or you and family can starve to death!
I think we didn't need this drama in the first place, I understand we need to be careful, to wash hands after touching anything, to have high level of hygiene, but for many of us that's a normal thing!!!

I think there are games that would be safe to play in the crisis... games like tennis, horse racing and other similar games that somewhat require fixed minimum space between players, and rare for players to come close or collide with each other while playing them. I guess that is what they could start with to see how things will turn out.
3506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FOX prepared to add virtual fans and crowd noise to NFL broadcasts on: May 20, 2020, 10:11:19 AM
The quote in your post sounds abit like the poster wants "artificial reality" for fans(without their consent?). I wonder who the poster wants that to be made for: the players, viewers or both? In my opinion, it'd better to let the viewers (and even players) know that what they are "getting stimulated with" are not real or something, so they don't feel decieved if they find out. Or just get the real things come and safely watch matches, why not?
3507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There's something Satoshi didn't think of. on: May 19, 2020, 06:55:25 PM
Is there any coin in the world that people don't invest in? I think big investment in fiat currencies also contribute to their value, so why not Bitcoin also?

I think he did what was feasible in his days. He probably imitated scarce resource like gold to add to the growth of Bitcoin price/value via deflation.
I guess light PoW that spreads rewards amongst many unique participants on multi-purpose devices like laptops within a robust Bitcoin ecosystem would have been better.  There should be reasonable or good amount of control that a decentralized Bitcoin/crypto community should have over its economy to keep it moving as intended. The control shouldn't come from outside the decentralized system especially via centralized systems.
3508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is holding blockchain/crypto technology back? on: May 19, 2020, 05:13:06 PM
I think something more than scam is holding "real crypto" back. It isn't very difficult to build a really good and functional decentralized crypto ecosystem. If you build something safe, autonomous and self-sustaining, the authorities will find it hard to suppress and it will likely do very well. The problem for some is probably how to do this the right way.
3509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there an online casino offering Chinese Poker? on: May 19, 2020, 10:40:03 AM
Interesting.
Not sure I've heard of the words before.
Is it just a card game, or card game mixed with betting? You live in China? Just want to understand if the game mixed with betting is allowed in the Country (probably because it's native), or just only the game (without betting) is allowed? I wonder if the country focuses only on very risky betting activities which I consider gambling.
3510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Physical Gambling Casino Simulation through GTA V on: May 19, 2020, 09:43:34 AM
Oh, this is just a stimulation, right? The "coins" earned from playing the games are probably not real too?
Well, my problem with game I have played in the past that has GTA written on it is the violence. Hope this GTA stimulation is just about "Blackjack, Roulette, Three Card Poker... (and more?). Look like one can safely spend some time on the games without the GTA logo though...and maybe try earning with the acquired skills on a real betting site.
3511  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports Betting Picks by Winsports- Highly Profitable on: May 19, 2020, 08:35:42 AM
I guess match fixing is part of the 5th one, right? Hope not. Leaked information about players or club's activities is probably also part of the fifth? Well if it's legal and moral, I will probably consider it... but I don't know anywhere on earth where things like match fixing (for example) would be considered legal or moral.
3512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins on Binance may have gotten a boost from Coinmarketcap on: May 19, 2020, 07:22:56 AM
So, the owner's exchange became the top exchange after the "cleansing" of coinmarketcap? Interesting.
Well, I think if there are better metrics for ranking exchange, the exchange probably won't be the top.
This is why it is better to have community agreed standard for ranking exchanges or cryptocoins, so people don't rank things the way they feel is best.
Decentralization, transparency, immutablity, censorship resistant, security, permissionless/trustless, anonymity/privacy, etc would be some of my most important metrics.
3513  Economy / Economics / Re: Probability problem heads or tails ... on: May 19, 2020, 06:56:06 AM
It's still a probability based formula. I guess there is no known formula for telling precisely which side of the it  will be top or down. So maths people basically created a probability based formula for the problem. All the factors that make a coin flip to a particular side has to be known first to create a definite formula.
3514  Other / Off-topic / 50 blind and 3 sighted dogs on a decentralized journey to freedom on: May 19, 2020, 05:33:17 AM
They are 53 dogs in total...They were all blind in the past... and were on a long journey to freedom riding on decentralized system that is becoming increasingly centralized and not very safe.
All of a sudden 3 blind dogs out of the 50 received sight and were horrified by what they see around them: darkness, gloom & mighty hurricane covers large part of the world and is moving towards them and everything on earth.. . "it now makes sense why everywhere smell danger while we were blind" the 3 sighted ones said to themselves.
So the 3 dogs received some ideas to help keep those that believe safe in the hurricane, and they said to the others 50  "let us properly decentralized the system  so we don't lose everything to the coming hurricane"... many of the dogs didn't believe them, they convinced themselves that this has been happening before and everything will be alright later...but if something bad begins to happen they hope to survive individually, by their own wisdom and with the help of advanced centralized kingdom/shelter.
Guess what, some blind dogs decided to listen while the remaining fled to seek shelter in the kingdom as soon as the hurricane come very close to them. <That was a very bad mistake.

Lawlessness and immorality became the order of the day under the advanced kingdom and fire destroyed them all.
3515  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can we blame decentralization for how members approached interested investors? on: May 18, 2020, 10:47:44 AM
So what is the best way to explain Bitcoin?

Well, I think members within a properly decentralized community could suggest the proper explanations for Bitcoin and things related to it. The best answers could be chosen via right voting, and voters will have to vote based on answers that are simple-to-understand,  answers that are true/right, answer that capture the basic Bitcoin principles and don't go against the principles. The elected/selected "professionals" can work with such answers in addition to what they know or understand already about Bitcoin.
I think the answers the professionals provide on the internet can be used to judge their performances by the decentralized community. They can be retained or changed based on the answers, how they perform, manner of approach, grammer too (unfortunately Smiley ) etc.

3516  Other / Off-topic / Understanding Decentralization. on: May 18, 2020, 08:59:08 AM
Saw a post of someone probably blaming decentralization for lack of organized/right approach or lack of appropriate answer to a question from a popular person who was interested in Bitcoin.

I think many still do not understand what decentralization actually means. Decentralization simply limit centralization of power or things, in whatever way possible to prevent the derailment from laid down standards/principles or reduce/prevent the abuse of good law/rule... not doing this could result in disastrous outcomes.
*Decentralization doesn't stop a decentralized community from using professionals or skilled people for the benefit of the community.

We currently don't have any agreed standard or rule on how investors interested in Bitcoin or decentralized cryptocurrency should be addressed. And you don't blame a very smart developer (for example) for explaining to investors things about cryptocurrency the way he/she understands. Even if we elect or appoint people to speak to investors, other crypto people will still be entitled to their opinions when approached or asked to explain Bitcoin.

Interestingly, decentralization is a great and safe way to use special professionals/talents/skills(through election/selection) to speak to interested investors online or offline and to persuade them to use Bitcoin.
You could easily do this on a decentralized platform with laid down standards, rules and principles on the right way to address investors. And these elected people will have to be rewarded for their well done jobs
3517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do buybacks increase the value of a cryptocurrency? on: May 17, 2020, 03:39:48 PM
actually there are already many projects that do buybacks and burn tokens but the price increase only lasts a while after that it experiences a dump. Probably only 1 in 50 projects succeeded that way

A solid project with good buy backback system can be sustainable in my opinion. The most important thing is have good demands for a coin, and a well-made buyback system will be sustainable. And of course, the system has to be well decentralized to prevent abuses.
3518  Other / Off-topic / Re: voice messaging on bitcointalk on: May 17, 2020, 03:08:03 PM
And maybe with feature to auto change or disguise the voice without making it hard to understand? (I kind of feel that automatically or manually disguising/blurring one's  audio, writeup, video etc would be important in privacy/anonymity focused cryptocurrency world or decentralized system. Imagine  tipping/rewarding people on a decentralized network to quickly rewrite your writeup without losing its original meaning)

Well, not sure if the voice message is very necessary in anonymous forum if privacy and safety is not sure.
3519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to be invested in Crypto while staying away from gambling? on: May 17, 2020, 10:50:14 AM
How would you handle the issue assuming you have thesame gambling problem (specifically self-control/addiction problem) in physical life?  I'd probably advice you to treat gambling addiction (if that is the issue), maybe by quitting bit by bit if you can't quit immediately. If you aren't profitable after spending alot of time betting then you'll need to look for something else to spend your time and money on.
3520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker games that are providing free plays to earn real money on: May 17, 2020, 09:56:29 AM
You mean *high "skill" users* instead of *high "krill" users* at number one?
Well, free bet, paid to bet or betting without money is interesting way to bet without risking your own money.   One of the rewards looks kind of small though, I wonder if many will be willing to spend a lot of time playing for such amount.
