3521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ICO are you watching next? for me BAT, TEZOS and STATUS on: August 28, 2017, 03:55:16 PM
KickICO provides a platform for startup to raise funds.  - https://www.kickico.com/
Nexus provides a dencentralised social media platform  - https://ico.nexus.social/
Crowdholding is a co-creation platform that connects startups with the general public. - https://ico.crowdholding.com/

KickICO has just finished it's presale and will start their ICO in a few days
Nexus is into their ICO
Crowdholding is only 2 weeks into their presale, so it's a good time to get some bonuses.

Reason i am looking into these are they are interesting projects, with a strong team, great whitepaper, good concepts and a strong social media following. If i had to pick one to invest in, i would pick Crowdholding as they are still in the Pre-sale meaning that you can get a lot more for your money. But all look promising projects.
3522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO on: August 28, 2017, 03:42:47 PM
I understand why people are concerned because they are a new type of finance raising, and there are a lot of poor ICO's and scams (but a lot of great ones as well) . They are still new and rather unregulated. But the best thing you can do is do your homework into the company and make your own judgement as with any investment.

For me here are a few signs to look for in a ICO:-

- Strong team - Both in development team and also the CEO's / marketing (no point having a great team to create something, if nobody can advertsie it and push the startup in the right direction.
- Realistic vision - not aiming too high or if they do not reach their target everyone who invested will be disappointed
- Solid whitepaper - Well thought out, shows realistic goals, a strong good vision and a plan of action
- Strong social media presence - A social media that shows they are connected with everyone
- Good customer support - Shows they care, and they have invested time and money into making sure the average investor can ask questions
- Good website - A business who is willing to throw time and effort into a good website are less likely to be a scam
- finite supply - ICO's with no cap can be dangerous and can simply just damage their own coin by releasing more for more investment.
-Market they are getting involved with - Is this a new market? or a dying one? who controls the market?

Finally
- Good concept and catchy name - A good ethos and a name that makes them stand out. Personally i would avoid anything that is something "coin".

If these are in place, then it's a good sign. I am looking at Crowdholding at the minute, seems like a good upcoming ICO (They are in their pre-sale), which means you can get more for your investment.

Here is an article that explains what an ICO is, a little bit of the history, why they have exploded and if you should invest in them.

Sadly there is no safe way to invest in ICO's, they are still new and rather unregulated. But the best thing you can do is do your homework into the company and make your own judgement as with any investment. I would also pick a project that you are personally interested. If you know the market personally, you are more likely to know what to look for.

For me here are a few signs to look for in a ICO:-

- Strong team - Both in development team and also the CEO's / marketing (no point having a great team to create something, if nobody can advertsie it and push the startup in the right direction.

Very good list, i think people get too excited about the technology and the amount of capital getting thrown around that it is easy to forget that investing into ICO's are like any other investment. You need to do your work.

For me there are a few signs to look for in a ICO

- Strong team - Both in development team and also the CEO's / marketing (no point having a great team to create something, if nobody can advertsie it and push the startup in the right direction.

If these are in place, then it's a good sign. I am looking at Crowdholding at the minute, seems like a good upcoming ICO (They are in their pre-sale). I like this one because it is about co-creation (Which i am interested in) and also you can get more for your investment as they are in their pre-sale.

3527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most hyped ICOs? on: August 28, 2017, 01:40:57 PM
I would be careful about the buzz around ICO's

I would much rather research a ICO myself and look into why it would be a good idea to invest. It is too easy to pay for advertising (which might not be the most promising / innovative ICO)

Media only really picks up on ICO's if there is a large amount of money being invested into a specific ICO. While this shows that people are interested, it does not tell you about the company, and if they are going to succeed.

For me there are a few signs to look for in a ICO

- Strong team - Both in development team and also the CEO's / marketing (no point having a great team to create something, if nobody can advertsie it and push the startup in the right direction.

3531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pre-ICO bonuses on: August 28, 2017, 01:24:15 PM
The bonus doesn't  matter, as long as you conduct thorough due diligence before buying on a particular project you're all good. Don't buy on those crap ICO's no matter how big or small their bonuses.

I agree, I think looking into the business, the ideology and the team are more important. Although having a very large bonus can make the buyer worry a little as it can devalue it in his / her's eyes.

I think anything up to 40% is acceptable. 100% seems a little too much of a great deal.

There are numerous sites such as ico.alert that can keep you up to date with the newest pre-sales / ICO's

One pre-sale i am looking at is Crowdholding, because they are in their pre-sale you can get a lot more bonuses than getting involved with the ICO. You will get more from your money with pre-sales.

3535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounties - how do they work? on: August 25, 2017, 04:24:08 PM
Bounties are a great way to get some reward for spreading the word of the altcoin, it's a win win for both the person and the company. Another great way to make some cash is through referrals if you have a good network connection. In a referral you simply help the company get sales and you get a cut of the investment.

It completely depends on the coin and the campaign. Some pay you in their currency (which can be great if it increases) bitcoin (high value, but they will give you a very small amount) or another currency such as Ethereum.

Here is an example of Referral campaign where you receive 10% of the commission from recommending an investor:-

Here is an example of a bounty campaign where by sharing posts on social media etc, banners on your bitcoin profile or PR work / feedback

3536  Economy / Speculation / predictions of the price of a Bitcoin by the end of 2017 on: August 25, 2017, 03:19:05 PM
How much do you think a single Bitcoin will be worth when we celebrate the New Year?

I am estimating that it will be around 8k (no evidence just a gut feeling), i think it will fluctuate and go higher but will stablise at 8.
3537  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Between Ether and Bitcoin, which will be on top in 5 years? on: August 25, 2017, 01:15:00 PM
I honestly think that Bitcoin will still be on top, but i think the gap will close. The fact is that Ethereum also gets a little look into as Bitcoin gets the publicity because more and more people get interested in cryptocurrencies.

As of today Bitcoin is $4,350 and Ethereum is $329. I think in 5 years they will continue to increase, but instead of Ethereum only having the value of less than 10% of a bitcoin it will be more like 50 / 60%

3540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in ICO on: August 24, 2017, 10:10:03 PM
I believe there are more important aspects when it comes to investing in ICO's

Most ICO's are startups who are looking for funding to make the idea come to life.

I believe a critical study of the whitepaper, the team, the ideology, realistic target / roadmap and the token / coin is needed and not simply been added to have a ICO. I think these all need to be in place rather than having a product beforehand. Although saying that, if they have all of the above and a working beta / product then it is probably a great project.

I came across a pre-sale that had a beta running for a few months. Crowdholding was the ICO and they are currently in their pre-sale.
