I have tested some more. Release 74 is using more power and heat, so the card trottle and performance is lost. My test was conducted in a closed case rig with a EVGA superclocked card (2x 6pins power)
but my dev card: The gigabyte 970oc G1 comes with 1x8 pin and 1x6 pin and doesn't trottle and give bether performance in release 74 than 66.
SP_, all 5.2 maxwells do at least 1500MHz under load. In open case, limiting factor is TDP. Nothing to do with power pins. -edit Testing how far I can go with reference 970. You need to give this baby almost +300 to get there (1500). Around 10500 kH/s mining lyra2v2. -edit2 Same settings with quark, hitting TDP and only hashing about 17200 kH/s. TDP mod is all you need if you want to get all out of these. It has to do with power pins: max TDP depends on how the card is powered. I have two kinds of 970 and the max TDP is higher on the one that has one 8 pin and one 6 pins instead of 2x6. Furthermore, the power you need to reach a certain frequency varies based on a lot of variables like room temperature, efficiency of cooling, fan speed, the chip itself, etc.

on myr-groestl, lookup-gap and thread-concurrency are unused.
good to know. getting 30MHS now anyway. and if you are interested in getting more than 60 Mh/s on 290x, I have the kernel for you.

Market is open !!!!! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Thanks for letting us know. I tried a deposit but the coins seems to be gone nowhere :-( Did you succesfully deposit coins? EDIT: nevermind, it showed up after some time ;-)

IBM(Xilinix) and Intel(Altera ) are both working with FPGA makers to produce CPUs with FPGAS built in.
Nvidia Pascal looks to be 10 times faster than Maxwell and is expected to be released in 2016
If the Pascal specs are true, it would breathe some new life into GPU mining
10 times? I don't think it's possible with the current technology, and even if it was, nvidia wouldn't break the upgrade path releasing such a product. I guess max 1.5x maxwell with same power consumption.

Thanks but I can't test it because I run Linux. Why not pushing the fix to git? Tpruvot version doesn't work.
I will gladly look forward to implement GBT. Sad to hear tpruvot's build did not work, also will try it and other miners myself when possible. While you (and others) are waiting for the Getblocktemplate implementation, if you're running GNU/Linux like you told, compile your own ccminer binaries and solo mine with djm34's version, there shouldn't be much difference in the Lyra2REv2 hashing speeds in compared to SP's latest (free version). I assume the compilation is not about your skills if you have skills to tweak and create customized kernels ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Like I mentioned above, it's not possible yet for me to try NVIDIA mining, when I get a rig built, will compile and share amd64 binaries of the current djm's ccminer fork. Also feel free to share the precompiled binaries, if you manage to get those built. Everyone remember sharing is caring, feel free to fetch some daily free Lyrabars at the official Lyrabar faucet ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) There's also rains usually on the channel, at least for active (talking) users! Sorry I thought the precompiled binary had some unpublished fix in it. If it's just "plain djm34" fork, I already have it, will try later ;-)

I suddenly remembered I have a bit of an "in" with an exchange owner. Will see if I can get TTY listed there. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) That'd be wonderful!

Every program can be optimised. But in the case of neoscrypt, I don't think there is much room. Both me and sp worked on neoscrypt, on top of a kernel made by djm34 which was already much better than the public AMD kernel. Maybe that's the reason it's often profitable: there is a good amount of coins with enough trading volume AND the public ccminer is much more efficient than the public sgminer.
Good reason to continue donating to sp and me ;-)

Less beers? Not necessarily less grateful, probably just a lot less, miners.

Are we all aware that there is now one Vertcoin wallet containing 20%(!) of all coins?
Unless there is some very special situation, in the long run the distribution will always be uneven, on every kind of "goods" of "value".

I'd come to irc, but I hate chatrooms :-) I prefer forums with well-thought and useful posts only.

somebody give please link for fastest version of sgminer with whirlpool (not "X") support. thanks.
I just bought a fury, it mines at 60 Mh/s stock clock, so about 20% better than a 290x. When unlocked to fury X, it should hash another 10% faster. Figures taken with my own miner which I'd like to keep for myself, so I can continue mining with a little profit. For the record, the public miner does about 7 Mh/s on a stock clocked 290x.

Myr-groestl Hawaii binary (290, 290x, ...), 63 Mh/s on r9 290x @1100/150, compatible with stock miner. PM for info.

what is the default intensity for Lyra2rev2 on a 980 ti??
The default intensity is -X 18. You can test with -X 30. Might be faster? @Sp ...Is this -X intensity taking the place of over clocking? thx No overclocking. The intensity parameter adjusts the size of the number of hashes that are stored in memory. You can verify this by running gpu-z and observe the allocated memory. The -X intensity is linear growth of the memory buffer. The -i is exponential. So if I set no overclocking and by using the -X and -i parameters I get a higher hash rate.... no overclocking needed? Or, theses parameters add extra hashrate and I can overclock getting even higher hashrate? setting the intensity is a matter of using the gpu resources better. overclocking works on top of it.

try with whirlpoolx algo!
I did...one booo after 1 hrs mining at 1.6gigs. whirlpoolx (as in vanilla coin) != whirlpool (as in whirlcoin)

Anybody solo mining Lyrabar successfully? I can only get empty json errors, tpruvot the same.
