Meaningless as a milestone.

Bitcoin did not achieve parity with the gold price, and arguably never can as there is no such thing as an ounce of Bitcoin (which is what the spot price for gold actually represents).

If one calculates the same proportion of the current overall gold supply as 1 BTC represents from the current Bitcoin supply, the "parity" equivalence would be more like 12-15 kg of gold, and Bitcoin would need a price closer to $400,000 to be equal to that (i.e. a 16 millionth of the gold supply). And all that ignores that both the figure for the total gold supply and the gold price itself are often called into question.

So it's a fool's game trying to pin the tail on this particular donkey, IMO

Get your Ass out of it as quickly as possible, because the Crash is Coming.

It's still January, and Bitcoin is still going up.

We're pushing the ATH right now, and this is going to be absolutely huge when it does finally get broken, and right now I have a fair amount of confidence with this and chances are we're going to break it sometime, and then we'll probably see a pretty hefty correction, but I'm just speculating.

The news is good, the markets are good, times are good.

If everything is smooth as it should be, it should hit 15$ near metropolis release. It was between 11.5-12.5 before the btc pump and speculators went FOMO into it. Now, the more BTC is increasing in price, the more people will take profits and go back from where they left in the first place ( mostly ethereum ) , especially now that metropolis is close and ethereum will soon exit beta stage. In my own opinion, i expect 1-2 more unplanned hardforks after metropolis before we see serenity, since ethereum developers will walk into uncharted territory, since ethereum is quite unique in it's own way, something that wasn't done or even thought about, even more ambitious than what bitcoin was at it's release.

bitcoin price started from $400 and has gone up to $950 which is more than double profit, who cares about $50 more rise?

and actually it is a good thing that we have not gone above $1000 because there would have been cash outs and price would have became unstable.

Just for fun, take half of 371% = ~185%

From a starting point of 800 that gives you ~2,275

From slightly lower at 700 that gives you ~2,000

It was on poloniex for a few days, 2.5k btc sell wall or around that amount, didn't follow it 24/7 to tell it more acurate and didn't screen it either because i don't care. Now it was removed.
It's simple, if you want to sell, you sell smaller pieces to avoid price dropping / tanking. Showing off your cards like that means you don't really want to sell, otherwise you'd do it slowly and quietly without causing a price drop, and get more profit. Simple. ETH price now is low mostly because in the short term, up to 1 month, there won't be big news untill they anounce metropolis, and the BTC pump. The price will easily double with metropolis, but on the other hand currently there's FOMO in btc world.
