3521  Economy / Services / Re: ❙❙ Service ❙ Offering development of ❘ Bots ❘ Scripts ❘ Small projects ❙❙ on: August 30, 2018, 12:18:18 PM
Just a quick vouch:

I've hired Bob to develop a little bot for a website to automate some actions periodically last week. He delivered the bot to me within a few days and was patient and made many modifications upon my request. Even after handing the script over, he has been very helpful with answering my queries regarding the bot and made various fix to adapt to the site.

Script was neatly written and does what it is supposed to do. Definitely recommend him if you need any coding done. Thanks!

What would you accept as collateral? I need the coins badly AND urgently (tonight still) I have 1000 satx coins but it's still in ico
Collateral accepted: Physical Collateral[1], 120% of stable alt-coins (Litecoin preferred)[2].

[1]
  • Only if you are located in Singapore and I find your collateral valuable.
[2]
  • If the alt-coin falls below 110%, I will PM you and you are expected to respond to me within 48 hours and decide what to do next.(Add more coins or sell it)
  • Coins will be held at Poloniex or an escrow

If you don't have anything of the above, don't bother wasting your time.

Now why didn't I see this before? Purse failed user here from a while back, gave up on ever getting wishlist orders fulfilled and every now and then wish I had an option to ship items from US.
Same. I used to be able to get decent offers every now and then.
My question: Some items only ship to US. Are you saying you're willing to arrange shipping costs internationally, or are you only willing to make orders for shippers that send overseas? If the former, I might have an order coming up in November and shall bookmark to try you, of course I understand all costs borne by me.
I'm not located within the US so I can't ship them for you. You can try to find a reship (myus, comsgateway etc) or a freight forwarder and they can be relatively reasonable in terms of pricing. I've been using freight fowarders for my shopping.
3527  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: bitcoin transaction confirmation and mining on: August 28, 2018, 03:51:31 AM
Does it mean once the block is mined with transactions, the same block cannot be mined to add new transactions to it ?

Thanks.
Nope. The set of transaction is hashed and included as merkle root. The merkle root is included in the block header which is hashed again. If you add transactions, the merkle root will be changed and the whole block header will be changed. You can do it, but the block won't meet the target anymore and nodes won't accept it.
3528  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: bitcoin transaction confirmation and mining on: August 28, 2018, 03:43:07 AM
Is the block fully utilized, as in is its capacity fully used ?
Depends on the miner. They can choose to include every transaction that they see or not. The block doesn't necessarily have to be full at all.
For other transaction, is it included in the same block if the block is not full ?
The miner will decide which transaction they wish to include before they even start to mine and solve the block. When they get the block that corresponds to the target, they cannot change any variable in the block or the whole hash will be changed.
how does miner check which block is the latest, if the same block is being mined to confirm new transactions ?
Blocks are propagated across the network and the miner runs a node. When they detect a node that is mined at the current height, they will discard the current block header (containing merkle root, last block hash, block height) and adjust it such that the block height, block hash corresponds to the correct one and the transactions aren't included twice.

The miner builds the chain on top of the last block.
3529  Economy / Services / Re: Amazon Purchasing Service - 15% off on: August 28, 2018, 01:12:45 AM
For exports outside the US, what sort of import service do you plan to use? How can you assure that the export duties wont be too much and be an exploit means to anyone purchasing from you?
Its up to the buyer. Shipping is by Amazon and the buyer choose which method they want. The fees will be paid for by the buyer.
3530  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Old USB Miners, USB Hubs, Raspberry Pi on: August 26, 2018, 05:13:15 AM
Ive got a pi3 and loads of bits the i had on my little pi hobby rig if youre interested? Are you in the UK?
Nope. I'm not in the UK, the shipping should be within the US. I don't need the power supply itself, I have quite a few of them.
3531  Economy / Services / Re: Amazon Purchasing Service - 15% off on: August 26, 2018, 02:51:38 AM
Are "deal of the day" okay to purchase or do you need more lead time for the order?

edit: Yes, 15% is more than reasonable.
Yup! As long as you can put it into a wish list and its not a Visa card but a physical item, I can purchase it. Your address will not be revealed to me, Amazon gift registry hides it for you.

That's great!  One other thing - I pay you with Bitcoin right?

Of course Cheesy

You are trying to use up a gift card balance to get the money out of it so I can save 15% and get free shipping on something I would like sent to me from Amazon.com?  You won't attach any fee for this service?
Yes, I don't charge fees and you get your stuff at 85% of list price (unless you have tax or shipping fees). I can't find any other way to convert them to BTC. 15% is fairly reasonable to me.
3534  Economy / Services / Re: Amazon Purchasing Service - 15% off on: August 26, 2018, 02:24:41 AM
Just wondering is there any specific reason for not using purse.io.
I am currently seeing lot of offers in 15% (More than thousand dollars worth). Please feel free to check it yourself.

https://purse.io/earn/btc#country=US&amount=100-500USD
Purse charges extra fees for the shopper and all of the 15% offers consist of gift cards which I cannot purchase using my Amazon balance. I was one of the active earners there until the orders started to disappear.

Nope. Still looking for it.

Bump. Still looking for these.

3538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How useful is Backup against Ransomware on: August 24, 2018, 05:58:30 PM
I thought they were configured to dump the transaction with the lower fee, is that not the case any more?
I highly doubt so. Mempool conflict would occur regardless of the fee. RBF was possible years ago.

Opt-in RBF is possible now, if they choose to flag it in the transaction. If they're smart, they won't enable it.
3539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How useful is Backup against Ransomware on: August 24, 2018, 05:06:34 PM
If someone was using malware and decided to pay everything to themselves, I'd run a separate transaction to compete with the fee that they set, if they retaliate then I'd put everything into the transaction fee and send them nothing and then I at least have the knowledge that my coins went to maintaining the bitcoin network rather than falling into the hands of a scammer.
Isn't as simple. If they don't flag opt-in RBF, whoever is the fastest in spending the outputs gets the coin. Most nodes don't relay double spends and they simply ignore any subsequent transactions. You can obviously request miners to not include it but it would take way too long. Also doubt that you would realise that your coins are stolen before it confirms.
3540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How useful is Backup against Ransomware on: August 24, 2018, 04:05:37 PM
I'll be surprised if the ransomware didn't include something which sweeps Bitcoin wallets, considering that they accept Bitcoin payments afterall.

Backups aren't really going to save anything other than your wallets. If you are someone who at least is good at managing their crypto assets, then your wallet shouldn't be your biggest concern; just keep them offline like I do. Avoiding ransomware is the same as avoiding any other malware; practicing good security, antivirus, regular updates etc.
