3521  Other / MultiBit / Re: recover lost addresses on: August 22, 2017, 01:33:46 PM
Hi,
i need to recover some addresses from a multibit wallet, but i've disistalled multibit from my pc.

Is there a way to recover it/them?

Thanks in advance.

multibit or multibit HD?
If it's multibit, you'll probably have to stop your pc, disconnect your HD and attach it to a different PC, then use a recovery tool and hope you can recover your wallet...

If it's multibit HD, derivation path m/0'/0 should work on a downloaded, offline, version of https://iancoleman.github.io/bip39/ (untested tough, i'm an electrum user, i haven't touched multibit in a long while)
3522  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: August 22, 2017, 11:14:13 AM
Wouldn't that be something completely different than the current way bitmixer works? In my opinion, the power of bitmixer lays in the fact that the chips are pre-generated before you even deposit any funds into your bitmixer session.
If you were requesting different chipsizes, chipmixer would either have to generate these chipsizes on request before any deposit happened, or they would have to generate them afterwards (which would not seem like a good idear to me, bitmixer would lose some of its appeal to me)
Did you forget what you're advertising?

Good catch, i meant chipmixer offcourse  Grin (all these years of bitmixer being the only reliable mixer around made me develop a habit of typing bitmixer)...

I'll edit the first post!
3523  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: August 22, 2017, 05:43:16 AM
I from time to time need to hand out payments to a wide variety of people, but at this point there is no way I can send an exact amount of coins to a certain address if I choose the option to have ChipMixer send various chip values to whatever address. The fees that ChipMixer deducts for the transaction will always result in an odd amount to be sent to the provided address.

I was thinking about something like this;

Chip 0.015BTC -> withdraw exactly 0.0125BTC (where the rest of the chip value serves as fee and donation).
Chip 0.02BTC -> withdraw exactly 0.018BTC (where the rest of the chip value serves as fee and donation).

In other words, I would like to manually input a value to be withdrawn (obviously always lower than the main chip value due to fees and such). See it as extra convenience for the end user. Smiley

EDIT: replaced 3 typo's... I meanth to say chipmixer, but wrote bitmixer (old habits die slow)
3524  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: bitcoinadressenherkenning on: August 21, 2017, 01:00:47 PM

3525  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: is it possible to mine bitcoins testnet on CPU ? on: August 19, 2017, 06:10:32 PM
Last week somebody was mining on the testnet using an S9, compared to 13 Th, the couple Gh you get with your cpu won't give you high odds of hitting a testnet block.

By the way: testnet addresses start with m or n

how can i attend this campaign?

Read my full post: you can't...

Steps if you want to join:
- Rank up
- keep a very high post quality and neutral or positive trust while ranking up
- once you're a Sr. member, visit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935179.0 and see if there are open spots. If there are, you can apply

But, in my opinion, you won't be able to join, or at least, you'll probably be kicked out pretty fast if your only goal is to make as much posts as possible to reach the 50 posts/week "goal".
3527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: looking for a serious way to earn 1-2btc on: August 17, 2017, 09:31:20 AM
how much do you earn with signature campaigne and where can i subscribe for such one?

Don't see signature campaigns as a paycheck.

I'm in one of the best campaigns, and i see the income i get from my signature campaign as a couple free beers in the weekend i earn by doing something i would have done for free to...

My campaing is one of the highest paying ones around, you could theoretically make 52 weeks * 50 posts/week (maximum) * 0.00075 BTC/post = 1.95 BTC/year.

In order for you to make this much, you have to:
  • Rank up (they only accept higher ranking members)
  • Stay in good standing with the community while ranking up
  • Gain knowledge and write very good posts while ranking up
  • Get into the campaign (there are only a few open spots each week, and they tend to pick the best posters that applied that week to fill these spots)
  • Make 50 qualified posts/week, every week, never missing a single day (since you cannot make bursts of posts)
  • Any offtopic post, spamming post, short post, post in a wrong subforum,... will automatically be disqualified
  • Basically, to make the full 1.95 BTC/year, you should make at least 8 quality posts in the right subforum a day, every day of the year... You'd have to monitor all subforums, immeditely jump into new threads, do research and spend time and effort in writing something constructive... Basically, it'll be more than a parttime job to reach the 1.95BTC/year mark

All i can offer is my time ... i have no special abilities

Without any skills, just your time, it'll be rather hard to reach 1-2 BTC directly without taking gigantic risks. It might be best if you took a regular daytime job, got payed in FIAT and then bought the BTC.
At this moment, 1-2 BTC is between $8000 and $9000, so you'll need a rather good (second) job to reach your goal.
3530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction blocked ... on: August 17, 2017, 06:02:55 AM
Hello,

I have one transaction with 32 confirmations but It does not appear on my electrum wallet ... btc address is correct ( I double checked ).

What's happen ? What can I do ?

Did you check on some block explorers to see if the transaction is indeed included in a block... Also, double check if you got the correct address, check that it's defenatly an address managed by your wallet.
If so, i'd suggest to switch electrum servers (click on the green button on the bottom right corner, manually pick a server) and/or restart electrum.

I really wonder why bitcointalk search enginee doesn't work. Do you have the same problem?

the workaround: click on advanced search and use the google search function...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=search;advanced

This problem has been discussed many times before, it would be nice of you if you validated my answer, then closed to topic so it doesn't get filled by exactly the same replies as all the other times the same question was asked...

3533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best bitcoin offline wallet? on: August 14, 2017, 10:49:35 AM
Been looking for best offline hardware wallets and have seen the Nano Ledger wallet on this site http://www.fastbuybitcoin.com/where-to-buy-bitcoin

Does anyone know of any others they can recommend? Or if they have experience with the Ledger wallet? I'm quite new to the Bitcoin world but want the safest option for my private keys. Cheers

I currently own a ledger nano S and a ledger HW.1 (this one has been discontinued). I love both of them.
I used to own a trezor... It was really nice to, albeit a little bit more expensive than my ledger wallets.

I would recommand both Smiley

If you're in the US, you can buy a trezor directly from the manufacturer.... Same goes for the ledger, but AFAIK, they're currently out of stock

I have ordered Ledger nano s. Shipment is expected at 15th September. Can I ask you a few questions?

1. Can I recover all addresses using a single seed?
2. How many bitcoin addresses can it hold?
3. Can I use f.e. MyCelium without revealing my private keys to my device?

Sure, all questions are welcome... To answer yours:

1) depends what you mean by this question... When you initialise your ledger, you are presented with a seed phrase. This seed phrase is converted to an xprv/xpub... These keys are used to derive all other private keys => public keys => addresses. So, if you mean "do you only need to save your seed phrase in order to recover your wallet", the answer is "yes". If you mean: "can you recover ALL addresses, including the ones not derived from the xpub", the answer is no

2) more than you'll ever need Wink Theoretically, there is a maximum amount, but you can generate a new address every minute for many years without running out...

3) i use electrum together with my ledger... Not sure about mycelium tough.

--snip
- transacties van munten waar kun je terugvinden hoeveel transacties een munt doet je kan wel volume zien op coinmarketcap maar niet aantallen {neem aan dat je aantallen bedoelt}

3536  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: goede vps in nederland ??? on: August 11, 2017, 07:32:28 AM

However...

3537  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ledger Nano S giveaway on: August 10, 2017, 01:08:59 PM
i'd also think that letting the users submit their email and some sort of tiebreaker question on your site would be the best method to do a giveaway (don't know if that't the correct translation tough).

For example: in the submit form, also ask the exact size of the block that is mined directly after the giveaway has ended, then give the ledgers to the two people that were closest to this size (or something like that... you can do the same with the diff, hashrate, blockhash,...). This way it's provably fair Smiley
3538  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to mine BTC on iphone ? on: August 10, 2017, 01:01:10 PM
And the clueless wide-eyed idiots are asking this again... ROFL
Your tech toys are useless for mining. Period. End of story. Bye-bye!
Try reading a bit around here to see what kind of very serious hardware is used.

I know it is very stupid question but BCH is minable on anroid is it true or not?

also want to know which kind of serious hardware need.

this has been discussed so many times...

yes: technically, it's possible to mine BTC or BCH on your phone, in the same sense that it's possible to remove all the water from the ocean by yourself using only a table spoon...
Sure you can do it, but you won't finish the job in your lifetime, not even in a hundred lifetimes...

As for your second question: an antminer S9, an S7 or an avalon 6 are your best chances of turning a profit IF you have super-cheap electricity, some basic knowledge, some time and a suitable place to put it.... Don't just rush off and buy an ASIC without learning the basics about mining and chrunching the numbers...

- mining directly to an offline wallet while talking about shares? (it's either solo mining or pool mining, but if it's pool mining, why would there be a local offline wallet on an online machine)

The website says it's an offline temporary wallet... "on your local machine"... which is online, having just downloaded the software. Sorry OP, uninstall this right away and do a virus scan.

my point exactly, the maker of that website doesn't even have a clue about the terminology he's using... he's messing things up to say the least.
3540  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: windows miner help needed on: August 10, 2017, 06:42:11 AM
anyone know how to change withdraw address for windowsminer.com software?

thanks for reply

i can seriously say i've never heared about that software, but looking at that website several alarm bells are ringing in my head...

- CPU mining?
- mining directly to an offline wallet while talking about shares? (it's either solo mining or pool mining, but if it's pool mining, why would there be a local offline wallet on an online machine)
- the lack of information... What is happening, what is this
- contact info?

I might be wrong, but personally, i wouldn't run this software on my pc...
