MMH you're talking nonsense. Of course you can have lunar eclipses (blood moons in bible speak) and have perpetual sunlight at the poles, they are two totally separate things (the shadow of the Earth on the Moon, and the tilt of the Earth causing the extended day/night at the poles).
The reason the moon sometimes appears red is because of light scattered by the atmosphere, and by different levels of shadow falling across it. Again, this has nothing to do with my point about daylight hours, you're seriously misunderstanding how this works if you think this is a case of "either/or".
As for your comment about colder light from the moon, you actually believe that moonlight is cold? You think this is why night is colder than day?
The reason night is colder than day is because the sun isn't shining on us.  Yabut, what's the reason for moonlit nights being colder than when there is no moon?  |

I do differ a bit in that view though. As mostly Muslims never treat their wives as how Spanish or any other people do. A classic example is the case listed in the beginning of this page that a dad gets to decide whether a rescue worker can touch his daughter or not even though she is drowning!!! Women are treated as semi human beings just like articles instruments or pets who re owned. The Man husband or father is the owner of them not just a relative partner or guardian like in all our lives. So wat difference does it make whether you own 4 sheep or 40 its only profit as they are just things and don't have any authority or option to decide or live as they want or even express. So they are still smart by getting wat they want in the way they want. I am sure Spanish men respect the women in their lives umpteen times more that's why the word of 4 wives means handcuffs and not something else fancy  While this is technically true about Muslims, it is not always actually true... at least not as strongly and directly as you have stated it. Many Muslim men respect their wives, and almost treat them as a queen in their households, just as many Spaniards do. A man who has a wife, and wants her as a real wife, must respect her in some ways. If he doesn't, he doesn't really respect himself. Or else he doesn't know what life is about. |

I just visited Iceland, where the day is currently longer - the sun set about 23.00 and rose about 03.00. During the solstice, Iceland experiences almost 24hrs of daylight.
My question is this: How does the flat earth theory explain this change in daylight hours when an observer travels north or south of the equator? Or in other words, why does Antarctica and the Arctic both experience long periods of sunlight and darkness?
The explanation of a "spotlight" sun does not make sense, if we assume that the Arctic is at the centre of the disc, and the Antarctic is a boundary of the disc.
While I don't necessarily agree that the earth is flat, modern science is very technical in how it works. This science has not been used to explain how a flat earth would work in every way. If the minds of modern science were applied to finding out how a flat earth works, like they have been applied to a round earth, flat earth science might have advanced way more rapidly. Perhaps the explanations are coming in the near future. Perhaps, but the current accepted model of a globe Earth explains this already. This is the main problem with the Flat Earth theory, it seems to be a case of classic conspiracy theory where someone thinks up a hypothesis (a flat earth) and then tries to "prove" all the discrepancies with increasingly complex explanations, such as a "spotlight" sun, with no empirical evidence of said explanations. This is not how the scientific method works, you don't just think up an idea and then think up loads of new ways in which the idea could work. You need to rigorously try and "disprove" your hypothesis, and the harder this is to do, the more weight your hypothesis has. I just watched part of the first video at: , but it was so stupid that I couldn't even finish it. However, one of the things that the video made me think of is that there might be another design to the earth than the ones listed in the video. The earth might be like a flat earth. But rather than a flat circle, with the water being held in by ice around the edges, perhaps the earth is "humped" in the center. The center of the disc-shaped earth might be humped in the center. Oh come on! Play with me. This is an exciting sci-fi topic that approaches reality. And if it is modern science that is the sci-fi, how exciting! We might have been living in science fiction all our lives. |

Its just because it is a religion which refuses to move along with time. They still want to live in the same old world of gypsy civilization where they could wage war and capture cattle slaves and women. All the other religions have moved out along with time the Christians Jews Buddhists even the Hindus considered to be much older organized religion. But not Muslims the basic issue is that they cannot co exist with any other faith. They cannot tolerate any other religion where other religions can. Personally I don't believe people should look at porn. But the next time you are attacked by government because of the porn on your computer, require that the guy who is listed as the plaintiff against you get on the stand and testify as to the harm or damage it has done him. First, government can't get on the stand, because government is just paperwork. Second, the porn on your computer hasn't hurt anyone, has it? If it has, and if the hurt one can be plaintiff and show how he was hurt, pay off his damages. Other than that, you don't as a man or woman understand legalese. Why salad is so overrated
It's not. Phytonutrients. We need them, if only in miniscule amounts. They come from salads and other sources. One of the problems keeping us from living an exceedingly long, healthy life is that we don't get enough varieties of phytonutrients. There are millions of "varieties" of phytonutrients in the world. There are probably many forms that have been lost off the planet as plant species die off and are lost. Each of these is different, and each contributes to health in its own way. None is unnecessary. Sure, the body has work-arounds. But eventually we die, partly because of the lack of certain phytonutrients from green plants... salads. The problem isn't the so-called uselessness of salads. The problem is the lack of higher quantities of the nutrients in the salads to make up for the phytonutrients that have been lost due to plants becoming extinct. This product essentially is barley grass juice that has been dehydrated in such a way that the phyto- and other nutrients remain active. There are other companies that are using this process with all kinds of food plants. Another is VEDEN ( http://www.veden.com/). Their flagship product, VEDEN, is a combination of all kinds of plant foods, salad plants included, reduced to concentrated powder form. It isn't that salad foods are not good for us. The problem is the lack of varieties, which can be made up somewhat by consuming much more of what is available. Well, a significant number of atheist's don't hate religion, after all a religion is nothing more than a set of beliefs, traditions and rituals, what it really bothers some atheist are religious people with the attitude of: I know better than you how you should live your life or go you'll burn in hell.
Nobody should hate religion. Religious folks should respect atheism for what it is, a religion. Atheists should not condemn those other religions that are trying to save them; they should welcome and respect those who want to save people, even if their method is misinformed. Atheists are people living their religion. Their religion might be vastly different than some other religions. The reason they live their religion as they do is, they think their religion is right. If they didn't think their religion was right, they would live their life in some other way, according to some other religion. If the particular form of religious atheism some atheists live, happens to suggest that they don't care enough about other people, so that they feel that other people can live their life with the religion of THEIR choice, however foolish that choice of religion might seem, perhaps those atheists simply aren't very caring in an area of their lives that some others would deem an important way to care about people of other religions. If the religious atheism of some atheists allows or demands that they openly ridicule, laugh at, or scorn people of other religions, they are acting similar to the way some people of other religions act toward them about their atheism religion. Nobody but a vegetable lives in a religious vacuum... and maybe not even they. While i agree partially with what you wrote, the part that i bolded about your post is something that simply put, does not conform with the real world. Some people hate religion, countrys, cultures,etc. Even if that hate is mistaken they still do it. And there is nothing we can do about it. Since you made reference to the bolded part above, does that mean that you think that some people SHOULD hate religion? Or were you only stating that you believe it is impractical to think that the world could ever exist without some people hating religion? A person who hates religion has a religion of hate against religion. This means that he hates himself or his own beliefs, though probably he doesn't realize it. Do I believe that some people should hate religion? The answer is no. People have feelings, and those feeling must be directed at something, even if the direction that those feelings take is a mistaken one. As an example, sometime ago I read an article about a trend in Japan, in which young men “marry” digital characters. While this will seem odd (at best) the truth of the matter is that people feel love, and that love is going to be directed at someone or something and we are unable to control where other people are going to direct their feelings. Hate is the same. Hate is a feeling that is there and is going to be directed at someone or something and we are unable to control where other people are going to direct their feelings. I hope that this clarifies my posture. That's the problem with atheism. Atheism tends to look in the wrong places for answers. Do we believe NASA? I don't. lol But I don't think the world is going to end because of an asteroid. The bible is pretty clear that there will be an antichrist who requires people to worship him, and then Jesus will come to the Earth, where everyone can see him, that can't happen if the world is destroyed by an asteroid. Only those who don't believe in the bible could believe such a story that the world would end that way. I wouldn't be shocked if stars fell from the sky though. Stars, not asteroids. Stars falling from the sky is Revelation terminology that figuratively explains the part of Revelation that says that the dragon's tail swept a third of the stars out of sky and flung them to the earth. Both parts are expressing the war in Heaven, between Michael and Satan. Satan convinces a third of the angels to be on his side in the battle against God. But he doesn't even get to fight God, because the archangel Michael stops him.
