@OP Because of this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fexpressiveepicurean.files.wordpress.com%2F2010%2F01%2Fiq_bell_curve.gif&t=663&c=zyPC00vB293zCw) The intellectual difference between the average person and someone like Einstein, is actually greater than the intellectual difference between the average person and a chimpanzee. That's why we can have the Large Hadron Collider and the Westboro Baptist Church on the same planet.

Bitcoin has 0 intrinsic value and 0 utility. Right, except this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FfYFBsqp.jpg&t=663&c=BLnU5nLhEEsquw)

Price follows utility, speculation follows stupidity. The world hasn't yet figured out just how far ahead of fiat cryptocurrency is, technologically speaking. When the use of cryptocurrency reaches an unknown critical mass, fiat money will rapidly become relatively worth-less. In the meantime, it's a stepwise logarithm. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FejrTU8r.jpg&t=663&c=KxWgzEvtWSJQzA)

IMO - if (IF) dollar will EVER collapse - bitcoin will be worth "a lot" ... but there is enough place for $$ and BTC
IF? (click me) OP was right to use the word, "when". No empire lasts forever.

Lol education is now obsolete just "buy n hold" go travelling come back in 5 and you'll be set. Laugh all you want, but I laugh harder. Because I am a twenty-something college dropout who will never work again.

Enough is enough when I die of starvation.
Not before.

How do you know what is low and what is high? It's totally subjective, speculatory.
What if I were to tell you that at 5,000$ per, a Bitcoin would be extremely undervalued? You would say, "You're crazy, they are trading at under $500!", would you not?

I thought the OP meant "Squaresoft", and I was like, "that'd be awesome if it was 1990..."

That or its all gonna pass like a fad kinda like myspace.... Yep, just like the internet did... and the torrent.. and electricity.. and every other brilliant, game-changing paradigm-shift in the history of technological innovation. Comparing cryptocurrency to Myspace is like comparing the airplane to the Skip It. In other words, it's borderline retarded.

Why do you have to go and ruin a perfectly good island by creating a government there? I love you.

So if you guys dont believe in bitcoin then go to another alt forum. Because there is no room for dissent on this internet forum? Really, guy? This ain't a church. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.twonkhammer.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F01%2FImplied-Facepalm.jpg&t=663&c=zIzrkId897Uezw)

Isn't that research?
(Assuming we're talking about finding information and not copypasta.) If you don't think the internet is blurring the lines between "research" and "plagiarism", you aren't paying attention. In the near future, the very concept of "cheating" in academia will cease to exist. Everything will be collaborative and cooperative. Just as the concept of "piracy" (= culture sharing) will cease to exist. And the concept of "fiat currency" (= local nation-state scrip) will cease to exist.
|
|
|
What will cause the biggest upward trigger for Bitcoin Price? None of the above. It will be the wake-up call that results from the inevitable fiat-implosion of one of the major national economies. That event will drives millions to seek refuge in crypto, and not just from the nation that implodes, but from every nation in the world. I'm taking bets on whether it'll be the euro, the dollar, or the Yuan that pops first.

Well lookey here. This could sure make things... interesting... for the IRS taxman trying to enforce the new Bitcoin tax law.

Was watching a video on the world bitcoin network (great yt channel)... And he said bitcoin has potential to take over 5 distinct markets, All of which are trillion dollar markets.
Gold Credit cards Micro payments Banking Remittances
Thoughts?

We should amass bitcoins and buy an island.. make it a country and have it's currency BTC. That is all.
Yes, let's centralize all the enemies of the nation-state, so they can take us out with one single missile. Brilliant!
