3541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and crypto purpose on: April 06, 2021, 05:43:16 PM
I am quite confused about what exactly OP wants to explain to us. First of all, you shouldn't compare gold with Bitcoin. It's because both's specifications are fully different from each other. One is a digital currency backed by the community and another is natural assets. Where gold failed, any specific field? Or you are talking only price then still specification is applicable. Natural assets wouldn't be a competitor with digital currency created by a human with modern technology.  The real purpose of Bitcoin or crypto is to create a peer-to-peer decentralized electronic cash system.

3543  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]Porkswap.finance Plagiarized Lite-paper on: April 05, 2021, 05:43:02 PM
Good catch. This doesnt mean that they are scammers but its motive to be very careful with them.
Although I would agree I can't trust them. I have remembered when I took the campaign of Bamboo DeFi. After the launch signature campaign, I had marked hold the campaign due to plagiarism. But eventually, they successfully raised funds and get listed in multiple exchanges. Technically they aren't a scammer. But here is the fact of trust, personally I can't trust those who can't write their white paper by own or can't hire a professional writer. So finally I want to say, don't believe in plagiarism, doesn't matter they are scammer or not. Just avoid the risk.
3544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin(BTC) Price By 2021 Year End on: April 05, 2021, 04:43:13 PM
The speculation will never end. If we expect that Bitcoin should just continue uptrend then most probably we are wrong. Bitcoin has created a new ATH this year which is above $60K. If you look deeper then the reason you will discover the current price is institutional investors. If we can't see more big institutional investors in Bitcoin then most probably we have to see a big correction at the end of the year. But in the meantime, if we see more instinctual investment in Bitcoin then simply price would push to above $100K. As I am always saying that anything could happen in crypto that we aren't expecting anyway.
3545  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: unique public key wallet on: April 05, 2021, 04:26:37 PM
A good explanation has been given by o_e_l_e_o. Technically all private keys and public keys are unique. It's quite impossible to generate duplicate private keys on the Bitcoin blockchain. But the question is either your private key is compromised or not. When you are using a web wallet or any closed source wallet service means you have to trust them blindly since there is no way to verify if the private key has been compromised or not. So it's better to use an open-source wallet where you can read the codes if you have development skills.
3546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will stablecoins replace Fiat currencies in the future? on: April 05, 2021, 03:03:36 AM
A stable coin hasn't been created by any government. It's just a centralized cryptocurrency claimed backed by USD. But most stable coins don't have transparency if really backed by USD or not. I don't think in such as situation stable coin would be replaced for fiat. Rather than there is the possibility that the government would create a national stable coin. But I don't think it's possible to remove fiat currency totally.
3547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Risks of instituations holding bitcoin on: April 04, 2021, 02:56:06 PM
To be honest this is something that we should worry about, and I wasn't aware of it. I am not expecting any institutional investors will take a stupid decision by offloaded their holding at a time. Because they should know about the risk that would happen after mass sell. Personally, I believe they are very clever and that's why they are accumulating Bitcoin. If they hold for years, there will be many new investors who would make a balance Bitcoin price. But I have to admit, anything would happen in crypto, we can just speculate, we don't know what will happen in the real situation.
3548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: donate with Bitcoin on: April 04, 2021, 02:38:59 PM
I can say that's the advantage of Bitcoin legalization. Where Bitcoin isn't accepted, Bitcoin donators wouldn't donate there. It's a big help for Africa and it would be a lesson for a few developing countries where Bitcoin is banned. It's just not a donation, I can say this is the way of Bitcoin adaption, doesn't matter how Jack Dorsey raises the funds. And I agree with OP that Nigeria had taken the wrong decision by banning Bitcoin. Who knows if they would get such as donations from Big donators.
3549  Economy / Reputation / Re: List the lies since forum mods are not doing anything. on: April 04, 2021, 02:32:56 AM
Actually, they are shilling for Adkins, probably bumping service. And of course, they are laying according to us. But the question is how moderators would determine if they are really laying? It'd easy to guess for us. Even moderators could guess but they can't take any action or delete posts based on a guess. They are taking advantage of the forum rule's loophole.

Self moderating threads are moderated by the creator itself so moderator is not going to involve anything related to it.
Moderators still would be involved if the creator doing anything wrong against forum rules. Doesn't matter if the post is self-moderated or not.
3550  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk and Reddit accounts Seller on: April 04, 2021, 02:19:46 AM
I think the main account that post for account sale has been hacked or compromised. Otherwise, a full member wouldn't attempt account sales with activity only. I think he doesn't have a ranked account and that's why only mentioned activity rather than ranks. So I don't think anyone would attempt to buy these accounts at a high price just only with the activity which is worthless to me.

By the way, the account in question has been tagged, account sellers aren't to be trusted IMO.
3551  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fraud company localbitcoins.com (any goverment hotline to complain) on: April 03, 2021, 05:35:07 PM
Unfortunately, we can't help you directly, because even I am not aware of if they have an account on the forum. So, from our ends, we can't force them. I didn't hear that they scam users this way. I think rather than ask for support for KYC, just try to convince them to get back your funds. That's the disadvantage of using a centralized peer-to-peer exchange. Any legit company shouldn't scam like this and they should send back your funds. Also, they should provide a valid explanation why they are unable to verify your documents. There should be clearly mentioned if any juridical restrictions.
3552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the institutional coin on: April 03, 2021, 01:38:54 PM
I know institutional investment pushing up Bitcoin price, but I do not agree to call it an institutional coin. Tesla invests a huge amount in Bitcoin, it doesn't mean we should call it Tesla coin. Investing in Bitcoin simply means they are accumulating (buying) Bitcoin. But yes, due to the holding period of institutional investor's total circulation reduction from the market and this is the main reason for the increasing price. So for me, Bitcoin is an independent decentralized coin forever. Doesn't matter who investing or buying it.
3553  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gate.io and suspicious price difference on: April 03, 2021, 02:11:40 AM
I think @logfiles explains correctly. You should match the contract address before take any decisions. Make deposits to the wrong address would lead you to lose your funds. However, website down doesn't mean that token has no value, because if that listed on exchange a few people would trade it. Besides that, I hadn't used Gate dot io for trading how they are reputed, so use it at your own risk.
3554  Economy / Speculation / Re: How fast do you think will Bitcoin reach $100k? on: April 03, 2021, 01:57:32 AM
First of all, I want to say, everything is possible in crypto at any time. So exactly we can't predict that when it will touch $100K. But, we have noticed a couple of institutional investors enter on Bitcoin world and as a result, Bitcoin is playing above $60K. So, as you said more instinctual investors could make it happen even within a month as well. The past institutional investors aren't accumulating more, which means we need more. We didn't imagine a few months back that Bitcoin would reach that zone within this short time. I think the same would repeat once more new institutional investors accumulate more Bitcoin.
3555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was paper money rejected by religions as much as Bitcoin? on: April 02, 2021, 05:48:49 PM
I am not sure if the paper money was rejected before accepted globally. But I believe in a theory that when you discover something new, then at the very beginning it would be rejected globally. But, slowly it would be accepted by peoples. So same theory is applicable for Bitcoin as well. In the beginning, no one accepts it, slowly it has been spreading globally. So many negative and positive comments will come from different peoples but seem it's not affecting Bitcoin. Seems Bitcoin does not care about all the negativity. Hope once a time global population will be more encouraged to know about Bitcoin.
3556  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Are you owed a payment of a bounty? then help us expose scammers on: April 01, 2021, 05:49:17 PM
Why will they hunters now since the project has succeeded and listed on multiple exchanges somehow. It's been a long time they raised funds and if I remember there was no other accusation against them. What action are you expecting? Simply tagging them will not help hunters, because really they don't care about the hunters or forum. Can you gather all hunters here who had joined their campaign? Could you arrange an anti-campaign against UHIVE? Ask hunters to run a campaign and spread the word that they scam bounty hunters. Perhaps then the team would think that they should distribute bounty rewards. Otherwise, there is no alternative solution to get bounty rewards for hunters.
3557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you use locktime for hodling? on: April 01, 2021, 01:36:20 PM
How would we make sure we will live until reach €1M Bitcoin price? I am not against holding or storing Bitcoin, but the question still exists for how long? When Bitcoin was approx $20K in 2017, then I thought I will sell my Bitcoin once it touches $30K. But it hasn't happened and we encounter a huge dump. I wasn't sold and bought a few shitcoin those haven't recovered yet. Now imagine if I sold Bitcoin even in $18K then I would buy back once dumped into $3K. So, my suggestion is to hold Bitcoin for life, not for a lifetime. For me, when I need and think there is a reasonable price then I will sell my Bitcoin. Because I learn from the past. Currently Bitcoin trading approx $60K, but we don't know when it will touch $100K or a million.
3558  Economy / Reputation / Re: shahzadafzal account now belongs to a scammer on: April 01, 2021, 04:20:40 AM
@shahzadafzal, good thing it was April fool, but the very bad thing is there was a chance scam. Even your intention wasn't to scam anyone, but what happens if someone posts their private key there. I know it was a self-moderated thread, but what if you become inactive and late to delete the post with private keys? There are many newbies who don't know they shouldn't post private keys publicly, so it was definitely harmful.

However, very good thing the thread has been trashed by the moderator I think. And we shouldn't make this kind of April joke where the risk of losing funds. So, I will suggest to shahzadafzal, please don't make this joke in the future and you should apologies for that to the community.
3559  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [ General guidelines to new users] on: March 31, 2021, 06:38:25 PM
It's quite easy to suggest others but hard to follow on my own. All the points have been discussed on the forum many times and there are a lot of useful and guidelines topic has been created by other users. But I doubt usually newbies have been reading that's all the topics. Even they no one bothering to read forum rules.

By the way, OP please use the search button when you are going to create a new topic. So that you would find if there are such similar threads.
3560  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: You guys ever heard of binoroix.com? Scam? on: March 31, 2021, 06:29:10 PM
This is a scam accusation, so this thread would more fit on the scam accusation board instead of the Service Discussion board. This type of scam isn't new and has been running for many days. This is very easy to attract greedy users and eventually many of them fall into the trap. We should keep in mind, any site that requires deposits to withdraw from money, simply are a scammer. Nothing is free in the world, if you attempt to gain free money then it would lead to a loss of money ad well.
