Hey everybody !
After countless hours of research, and obviously reading a lot about AMD cards Ether mining crown, I decided to do full Nvidia for a first 6xGPUs dedicated rig. I figured out that even if the hashrate is a bit lower than with RX 4XX cards on ETH, it also offers more possibilities on other cryptos. We don't want to forget that ETH is announced to go POS since last year. Plus, on the power consumption side, no battle here, Nvidia holds the 1st place by far.
I read as much as I could of this very thread, and checked the results on whattomine.com, but I'm still wondering what hashrates Nvidia users actually get in the real world, out of the theoritical field.
I'm already mining ETH+LBC with 2 GTX970 [41MHs/64MHs], for it happened to be the most valuable combo so far, but I doubt these results are accurate for a proper upgrade to GTX1070.
I also would like to ask what GTX1070 brand/model you're using, and eventually why. I'm looking for a good average between performance and longevity. With proper maintenance, I plan to get these working for at least 2 years time [Reboot and dust-off every week + full cleaning and basic maintenance every other month + full check and fan greasing twice a year]
I decided to buy GTX1070, but I've got a very nice opportunity for an EVGA GTX1080 SC, and was wondering as well, if people had performance feedback about this very GPU. As far as I can read, it seemed like 1080 weren't doing very good, and looked like it was because of a lack of optimisation [on top of the DDR5x issue]. Do you know if this has been fixed, or it will just be uncompatible at all ?
Cheers !
Try some high end R9's like the nano on a low epoch ETH alt like EXP. Nah, sorry, already made my mind up, and they won't be cheap R9's, but like I said, GTX1070. So besides that useful reply, anyone using Nvidia rigs ? Lol R9 nano/fury doesn't come cheap and the R9 pro duo is like $1500.

MSI RX + Hynix ram = 5 weeks and counting RMA for me. MSI sucks balls.
yup. been 3 like weeks for my msi hynix 470 gaming x rma so far.. They just told me yesterday via email that they can't replace/fix their defective cards; they've offered $102.50 per defective card for the cards I paid $350 for ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) . I told them to go fuck themselves and ship me some working cards, no response as of yet. damn. well that is the suck. kinda surprised they dont offer a 570 or something from nvidia. now im cringing to see what happens to mine.. Yeah I can't understand why they don't sent me a 570/580 armor or whatever refurbished 480. The cards must cost them less than $100 to manufacture yet they seem to be trying to screw me and it's costing them extra to do it?

I can't seriously believe that people still believe that the earth could be flat, in this day and age. With the argument that we are being lied to, as part of some conspiracy. I mean come on....this is the reason Aliens won't talk to us! ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Nobody really believes the earth is flat. That's why FE people use expletives whenever they are contradicted. They are simply trying to enforce their belief over their knowledge in their own minds, and this is a very difficult thing to do. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Thanks for the input Bagdad Bob.

Hi there, msi rx470, with 16.11.4 I have blue screens and frezze , with 16.10.1 and 16.9.2 100% fans issuses. I'm mining for a year with these two versions of drivers, but now I have problems with one rig. What driver version is recomended, can anyone help me? All cards working at 0.98v, msi ab controls fans, clocks and voltage, hynix 1100/1900 and samsung 1100/2000. Rig with problem is Intel g1840, h81m plus, 4gb ddr3, 4 x msi rx470 4gb hynix.

It's been over a month now since I sent my defective cards in for RMA and MSI still has my fucking cards, FUCK THIS COMPANY!
Edit;
After 5 weeks they replaced the cards.

After what length is the curve of the Equator noticeable, measurable? Lol.
The path of the Sun is provably circular, next question.

Thats a very misleading title but still funny ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) It's not misleading, Microsoft actually integrated Ubuntu. It has to be download from the Windows Store but the option is part of the Win 10 OS.

I seem to have an issue, well two issues.
#1 the miner crashes/freezes after it exits or the watchdog restarts it and I can't figure out why.
#2 here's a the log file of the GPUs halting and the miner restarting. Why did the GPUs stop, I can't figure out why? It crashed/froze after it restarted and I lost many hours of mining time.
** clip **
Same things happens to me so I used "-r 1" with a reboot. bat and the miner reboots my computer instead of restarting and hanging. I'll give that a try if I can't narrow down the issue, maybe I got a bad riser or the psu is overloaded. Edit: Things going smoothly for a bit now, I believe it was too many risers on one power line. These RX cards draw too much from from the board/riser they need a second pcie connector IMO. Edit2: I can see from the pool it's hung up, guess it's not the riser power. OMG this is going to take hours to figure out...

Guys careful with ETH just now...ltc on coinbase, could end up a dump for ETH if ltc gets pumped. Coinbase ETH funds some could be changed to ltc by their users.
Ltc and eth are different enough to BOTH go up in value together i think... I am super long on both of these Dash is probably the only coin in the top 10 that doesn't belong there... Schlomo is pumping darkcoin being so dark and all if you want a coin that doesn't belong in the top ten look no farther than ripple the bastard child of fiat currencies.

Climate change isn't as big of a deal as fossil fuels eventually running out in the future. We know that dinosaur remains aren't going to be renewable, and so investing in solar energy is truly a great idea now.
Solar power may be a good idea but peak oil is as fake as dinosaurs. As for global warming we're not even on a globe, fucking scammers.

With BTC over $1400 USD, is this miner profitable once again? I pay about 12 cents CDN for electricity and the exchange rate from CDN to USD is 37%.
No. These are so old and outdated you need free power to make a profit. I'm sure there's an underclock setting that's still profitable, replace the jet turbine with two two-wire case fans for a silent miner.

I can't believe people are having trouble with msi cards and hynix memory! First of all, with the 4gb hynix cards use the 1500memstraps! Second, lower the gpu speed (1095-1191mhz range). Finally, start with a voltage offset of at least -14 in watttool. You should be able to set the mem to 1900mhz, but you may have to lower the p7 mem/gpu voltages even further. I'm getting 27/730 eth/dcr hashrate with 9.3 -dcri27 on a 4gb 470 msi gaming x. My msi ref 480's 4gb with hynix mem have the memclock at 2000 with everything else the same and the hashrate is ~28.6/800 eth/dcr. According to kill-a-watt all of the 480's use <100w for dual mining, and all the 470's <90w. I've got dozens of polaris cards and for me msi is the best for mining!
I agree, never seen a "bad" polaris card yet, samsung or hynix (480 or 470) are all doing 28MH fine. However your power consumption numbers look way off. for me dual mine on voltages below 900mv is over 130W. For example I've got here five card rig (2*480_msi_ref_8g & 1*470_Ntro+_4g & 2*470_ref_4g) doing ETH&DCR @ 140MH&3200MH pulling 795W from the wall. PSU is gold rated thermaltake Yeah throw away that "killawat"... It only takes one white crow to prove not all crows are black. I've got a problem with multiple TF MSI Rx480 4GB and an even bigger problem with RMA service. Where the fuck are my new cards I paid cash for MSI?
