There is a report that Karl Anthony Towns loses approximately 17 lbs already due to illness.

Quote
Towns spoke to the media Monday for the first time since falling ill and said his weight was down to 231 pounds (he's listed at 248), but he didn't reveal the nature of the non-COVID-19 illness.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34720033/sources-minnesota-timberwolves-karl-anthony-towns-was-bed-rest-days-due-throat-infection

And so with that, he won't be available for pre-season games as he is still on the recovery.

Just interesting if he will permanently keep around that fighting weight around 231 pounds are Rudy Gobert might due the man in the middle for the Wolves and KAT playing power forward more often.

As others have said, it's good to hear that marami na tayong options sa pag bili ng bitcoin at crypto in general.

Pinag uusapan lang namin to kahapon ni misis na sana marami pa options tayong Pinoy, hindi lang yung pupunta ka sa 7-11 na minsan down ang kiosk tapos hindi rin kagandahan ang presyong binibigay nila.

Siguro one of this days ma try nga to at kung ano ang experience.
3543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think this is gambling? [Collectibles & Gambling] on: October 03, 2022, 08:39:40 PM
Do you consider doing this a form of gambling?
Would you dare to do the same thing for the sake of earning money or do you think it would be a bad idea?

I personally think it would be a bad idea since the chances of pulling out a good card is fairly small, one needs to really like the game/cards in order to open an unsealed box of such value.
This is just the same on Pokémon cards opening where as each card set has a rare card inside that have a value of thousands however I won't classify it as Gambling per sé. I would rather lean more on Investment on assets as the value of each card either depreciate or appreciate on the card's rarity, condition and other qualities it has. But it still depends on each individual on how they'll see it just like Gacha games.

I agree, just like what others collectibles cards in the past, you will have to spend some money but in return you will find some rare card inside that can be worth on what you originally pay for it. But it won't be classify as gambling as the card itself is already collectibles and you can trade it to someone. As opposed to gambling wherein you already lost your money already once you start to put your bet unless you're lucky and win. And then others will hold for this card in hope that one day the value will be worth more, you can't find that on gambling.
3544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 433 Winners to split $4,015,156.265 6/55 Grand Lotto Jackpot on: October 03, 2022, 08:16:34 PM
but based on what I've read, it's not really impossible to have that huge numbers but what is rarer and mind-boggling are all the number combinations when you add it up ended n number 9
It's not really impossible to have such number of winners since most people participate to this kind of lottery have their own number patterns, analysis and etc. The winning result is just pure coincidence that is divisible by 9.

The senate hearing like i said will be a waste of time, PCSO will just show them the copy of all winning tickets, or those 433 will testified, and last sort is showing the machine or software used for generating random number result.

If there is cheating happened the questions are, why just now?
If not, so all the jackpot winners in the past were all fixed? If those were all fixed we should see a pattern of winners, like most of them have family related to PCSO, government, etc. but its not. I'll say it again, this is just pure coincidence.

Perhaps because it did make a lot of noise in public that even the Senate want to see if there is no cheating or not.

It's not about the previous winners, it's about the current results because we are questioning it this is just a coincidence or not.  It really looks suspicious in the beginning, but for me, this is just might be what we call betting behaviors, wherein we  bet on numbers that we usually do for many years. And it just so happen that you can just write in a straight line those numbers as easy as that and then hit the winner numbers. So again this is possible and as you have said, just pure coincidence.
3545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman Abandons 4-year-old Child In Gambling Shop As Collateral After Huge Losses on: October 03, 2022, 07:45:04 PM
~
Some mothers can be careless but there is something that is not adding up to the story, as the efforts to reach the police for more information were not successful but my intuitions tell me that the woman is not the real mother, it is possible that she was caught on debt and used another person child as the bait just to escape the hot situation. I mean, why would a mother go to a lotto to gamble and only for her to abandon her child as collateral, it is either the lady is having a mental disorder or some memory loss to have forgotten the child till evening in the hands of people who could have done whatever they want to the child especially now with the level of insecurity in the country.
because the information in the OP is not very detailed, we can put aside the speculation that the woman gambler is not the child's biological mother

but I see that when women become heavy gamblers then they are more dangerous than men, men are unlikely to sell/make their children as collateral (from many cases I have seen) but women have narrow minds and are very desperate to do that

that's really a poor child, hopefully everything can be resolved well and that child is safe

But it doesn't matter if the woman is the biological mother or not, what's the concern here is that a child is involved and for sure the child didn't know what is going on. So it's the responsibility of the adult to take care of that child and not be a collateral on your gambling addiction because that is the worst that you will do, involved a minor just to continue with your gambling addiction. Yes, and the best thing we can do is that the child is safe by now and live a normal happy life because the child doesn't deserved this. And for the woman, again, hopefully she knows that she did is wrong and change for the better and start her recovery from gambling addiction.
3546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Estrada vs Chocolatito - Trilogy - Dec 3, 2022 on: October 03, 2022, 07:19:28 PM
And since they have won their previous fight this year if I'm not mistaken, this fight has to take place but I was surprised that they have pushed it before the end of the year.

And so we are again treated with another great fight between this two legends so for sure another 12 rounds of action pack between the two.

Just another side note though that Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donare wants to go down to this weight class. And he is targeting Chocolatito already, but let's see first this great fight and maybe Donaire wil l be just waiting at the side.
3547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: October 03, 2022, 06:49:33 PM
Just for the record, this will be Bivol's 10th defense of his WBA crown, and so we can say that he is one of the best lightweight in recent years, him and Beterviev is on the top of this division.

But Ramirez wanted to change that, he even spin his motivation that he wanted to beat Bivol so hard just because he beat the 'best Mexican' today, in Canelo. Probably just adding fire inside of him, but for sure Bivol doesn't care and just wanted to get a victory here and then fight that Alvarez again.

So that also means that Bivol have managed to defend his belt successfully for 9 times straight, he truly deserved to be commended because that feat is not an easy thing to do especially here in light-heavyweight where almost all boxers are tall and powerful. However, there's a new challenger in town, Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez. His resume seems great and credible but he will be tested by Bivol first and him using Canelo as a driving force doesn't bother the Russian boxer.

Or maybe the division is really that weak, that only Bivol and Beterviev has the belt in this division.

Nevertheless, Ramirez might be a step up to the boxers that Bivol fought, however, we have seen him fight Canelo and defeated him easily. And as per Zurdo, him and Canelo used to spar before in the amateur, so they really know each other and maybe this is the reason why Canelo insists that he doesn't want to fight another Mexican. But Zurdo think otherwise, he want to fight the fight even if it means going after Canelo. But we will have to wait and see if he can win against Bivol and derail the rematch between Canelo.
3548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 03, 2022, 06:24:35 PM
So I am going to my main point and that is Bitcoin hit almost 70k dollars and that was just big and bigger milestone and currently it is just trading above 18k dollars. And in my opinion that is currently going in Bear Market. And that bear market will turn till Next halving and that might be in 2024 as per block data. So I was wondering that wether this bear market will be helpful for new people or not. Cause many people thoughts are different than old people in crypto. So I am preparing myself in Bear market so that I might be able to stand in next bull run that might be the biggest bull run for Bitcoin and that might be just all time high to almost 200k dollars as compared to 2021 Data.

If you feel that Bitcoin is currently too late for newbies to come this year? then the answer is wrong. In Bitcoin, you always have the same opportunity, because those of us who were there first felt regret. Learn from it all the facts you will always be given the opportunity when the bear market arrives to buy as much as you want. Make it long-term, because in the future Bitcoin could be much bigger. As we thought in the past, and until now all proved Bitcoin continues to provide many benefits. Moreover, what are we waiting for to feel doubt that Bitcoin in a bear market is the point where we will not find the same price in the future.

Yes you are right and my opinion was same cause bear market is not favorable for those people who wants quick rich schemes too. And that not good for those people are newbies. ]

Or for newbies, they will be discourage to enter the market because it's not going to make them money like in a bull run. But they have to understand that in a bear market, yes the market will be down, but you can take advantage of it, the price is cheap at a a discount. Just in this situation, from $69k, now to $20k, so that is huge cut from the price and so you can invest and buy in this dip.

And so when the bull run arrives, you have enough bitcoin in your wallet already. So you just have to wait for the right time to sell and make a huge profit from all the years you are holding.

3550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 03, 2022, 04:09:06 AM
So I try to research about deaths of boxer inside the ring,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deaths_due_to_injuries_sustained_in_boxing

And i guess this is what the rounds was readjusted in the 80's. Before boxers fought at 15 brutal rounds but was reduced to the standard that we are using today at 12 rounds.

The infamous fight that comes to my mind is Mancini vs Duk Koo Kim who collapsed in the ring and die. Then after several months the one that referee the fight committed suicide and so is Kim's mother. And it still haunts Mancini up to this day.

The rules have been adopted a lot too to protect the boxers.

I think in the 60's they are allowed to slug it out until one of them drops but these days, when the referee sees that the fight is already one-sided and one player cannot defend itself anymore, it will be stopped and declared TKO. I think the Standing Count rule was introduced because of the death of Kim Duk-Koo.

There is lesser death these days but unfortunately, it may still happen because of the nature of this sport.

Standing count and the 12 rounds, because of Kims dead, WBC was the first to implement it after that, the other body follow as well.

It was really a big impact on the boxing world, Mancini continue to fight after that, but there are many observers who says that he lost his killer instinct and doesn't want to go for the knockout anymore.

And for Pinoys, there are also death on that list as well. But at least in recent years, the number of deaths have been reduced thanks to 12 rounds and also referee making the right decision to stop the fight when they see that something is wrong.
3551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: October 03, 2022, 03:14:42 AM
Metaverse is a Entertainment place by virtual reality . if gamble sites choice Metaverse technology and build a meta casinos then it will give a reality casinos experience and it will attract more gambles specially young people will attract much more on this. On the one hand this is a good thing on the other hand it will further spoil the youth
I have little doubt about that the Chinese meta version because they don't show much interest in crypto related things but  it is true that they have to work on it in the future so I think if their meta version projects run successfully then I think meta casino will play a unique role in the crypto currency world.

Perhaps it will still be in the experiment phase, we all know how their government is though, so for sure they are looking at how to take advantage of the whole metaverse right now and see how it will benefit their population. So I don't expect crypto related things in the beginning.

On the contrary, it is the businessman who are looking at the option now.

Quote
Indeed, while China’s tech sector has been experiencing a governmental policy crackdown, domestic VR/AR businesses have so far been unaffected. Six of China’s tech giants – including Baidu Inc, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, and Tencent Holdings Ltd (collectively known as BAT) – made it to the top 10 firms worldwide that filed the most VR/AR patent applications in the past two years. In 2019, most of these developments happened in the fields of retail shopping, education, gaming, marketing, information display, and industrial manufacturing.

And so whether they will implement crypto, or their CBCD remain to bee seen.
3552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Gambling Site has a Short Signature Campaign on: October 03, 2022, 02:47:55 AM
Some time ago I saw a new gambling site appear with a signature campaign managed by the professional Manager like Hhampuz , Cryptobrainbross. Like campaign  Fairspin, Bluechip (which I follow) both gambling sites didn't last long. Fairspin only runs for 2 weeks and Bluechip only runs for 1 week, and for several other signature campaigns it has also started to be held or ended.

Does this bear market affect the finances of the casino sites as well, so they have a low allocation for signature campaigns.

With the end of several signature campaigns, the competition is getting tougher. As in the Trus Dice campaign, which was managed by Hhampuz, only a few hours after it was opened, many people applied. and for sure those who have the most merit in the last 120 have a chance to be accepted. while those of us who are only able to collect a few merits are sometimes always eliminated and do not get a place.

I guess it depends on the budget of the casino itself, not if we are in the bear or bull market. There are also times that the casino itself will pause the campaign ans gauge everything and think whether they want to continue or not. As far as a I can remember though, Fairspin has been in the crypto gambling industry since 2018 so they are not new, maybe as I have said, make some changes and decided to come back with a brand new signature campaign.

Of course competition are tough, but I think everyone can get a pie of a the pie, it's a billion dollar industry, and it is a niche. So everyone will have to developed it's own strategy.
3553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 03, 2022, 02:15:54 AM
It became a thing when there have been topics if Brownlee should be added to the pool and many have said that he's not anymore as strong as he was before.
But on this game, he just proven himself to those doubters and unbelievers of him. He's still what it got to be a good candidate though although, the decision won't be coming from the fans but the usual SBP that many hates already.
This actually depend on the Senate if they will pass a bill to naturalize Brownlee, this has been the topic since then and I think SBP can't handle this thing, they can only endorse this but still the decision will depend on the higher courts. Brownlee did a great job in PBA history, and being with Ginebra I think he can still do more. The game against Meralco was a great one and they will face bigger teams ahead of the competition, they should not be complacent though since this is just their first win.

He is aging though, if they still want to naturalize Brownlee they should act now. He still has a few good years to give to basketball and he is a good addition to the pool since he is already familiar with Filipino brand of basketball. There would be very little to no adjustment for him.

His game would start to degrade soon so the best time for him to join Gilas is now. But looking at how they are always tentative on this, they might miss this window.

Yes, this is one of the factor that I don't agree with, if they are going naturalize Brownlee to blame Gilas, if might be too late as he is already 34 years old. And I agree that he lacks international competition experience and the most under his belt is playing in PBA for many hears that he is now attached to Pinoys.

So it's better for him or for us to let him stay in the PBA and not made him naturalize for the sake of joining Gilas. We have a lot of good players, so it our back is against the wall, get someone new with potential instead of Brownlee, just saying.
3554  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Will be the Bottom of Bitcoin till 2025? on: October 03, 2022, 01:52:43 AM
Bottom in 2025? If he look a the historical log, we could be in the bull run, 2024-2025. So I was quite surprised to that you are asking for the bottom instead of a new all time high.

So I'm not sure if there is somewhat that can give you the bottom price till 2025.

But as far as prediction as to what could be the new all time high, perhaps we could see 6 digits for the first time.
3555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 02, 2022, 09:10:32 PM
We can't really say that for certain, we will have to see how Inoue's body will respond with that added weight. Different body will reacted to different weight, if he can carry his strength this good, that is just one part.

I got your point but Inoue will surely adjust easily at 122lbs from 118lbs.

Although it's a new experience for him to fight in a new environment, it's not that he will struggle at first.

I also see that he can go toe-to-toe with either Stephen Fulton or Murodjon Akhmadaliev in the near future.

Of course, it's easy to move up in weight, but we will have to see if first before we can truly say that he had adjusted without any problems or at least being comfortable in this new weight. And who knows, in the next year or so this will be his natural weight already until he can't make the required weight anymore.

Would love to see him test against those two. If the boxing organizations will give him a free pass to fight them once he goes up in weight then for sure this is going to be a great fight. But if Inoue chooses to test the water first at 122 lbs, I guess that is also a good strategy and not directly go to champions.
3556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 02, 2022, 08:40:42 PM
But the hype is already building so big that fans are eagerly waiting for the result of the negotiation. We are being teased that both agreed in terms already, now we hear that one side wanted the contract to be transparent, or whatever that it means.

So it's either we have been duped to believed that the fight is happening, and they even have a date to boot. Or it's not, they are just putting in some works to keep everyone hope alive that they are going to face, but instead it might in the middle of next year, or maybe not.

The odds posted by the sportsbooks can easily be withdrawn if both camps decided to suspend the fight.

Yes, definitely sportsbookies can update their dates or even delete it totally if the fight is not going to happen.

But yes, there's a date already so maybe they are just making some issues to make a scene in the boxing community.

The date could have been floated by someone around close to the fight, most likely the network.

After all, a controversy is always good to promote a fight, and this fight in particular is already a big one.
They are seeing how this one will attract from the boxing fans, and for me, this match is one of the anticipated boxing fights in the last few months of this year.

That's why fights are promoted, there could be at least a story line. Like in this case, both are champions, so we need to see who is going to be the top dog of the 147 lbs. Undefeated, and still in their prime. So everyone is anticipating this boxing fight and it could even topple the GGG-Canelo numbers as far as PPV numbers.
3557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crash Incoming? on: October 02, 2022, 08:19:16 PM
We've already crashed isn't it? all time high of $69k and then seeing the floor price at $17,500. So that's about it this bearish cycle as I don't see the price go lower than that.

For the 2020 crash, yes it was due to the pandemic, but the cycle might repeat (not the virus itself), but the market crash due to several reasons, like recession and war. But I don't see any major slump that will push the price to another lower lows for this year or the whole bear market. And if by chance I'm wrong and the price fall below $17,500, then it's another great opportunity stack sats again.
3558  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of bitcoin rise again? on: October 02, 2022, 08:01:43 PM
Despite the volatility and declining prices, we are still very optimistic that Bitcoin is still a very promising asset for the future. Bulls are coming soon.
The choice is up to each person in seeing the future of Bitcoin. Personally, for 2022, Bitcoin can still be at a price above $22K.
The price of $25K for Bitcoin is still very possible this year even though it looks like it is very difficult for Bitcoin to move to $22K or even exceed that price.
The future of Bitcoin is still there and everyone can still choose it at this very discounted price before buying at a higher price, because this is an opportunity to make an early decision before it's too late. And if for now you can't afford to buy Bitcoin anymore, at least you still want to keep what you've bought in the past or months ago.

I think there is still a bigger decline of price to happen next month or the month of November. $15k is my wild guess. I have some of my savings ready so I can buy at the end of the year, I don't care if bitcoin is at $15k or $25k but December is my buying time. 2025 will be a great year for bitcoin and I am very optimistic about it. $100k is my minimum guess but 150k to $200k are not too far away. I just believe that this is the future. People are getting their eyes opened and they are tired of too much government control. It's time for currencies to become decentralized and free from manipulations.

On the contrary, I would have to agree about the $15k prediction. Yes, the market is still very bearish and there is the war, but I guess we have hit the floor price already at $17,500. If you can see, the price is trying to get into the $20k support line, our biggest support.

So if by chance we get there this month then I'm not seeing another huge decline to $15k. We still have a couple of months to go, which means we have more chances to buy at this price point and hold for the future or wait till the next bull run of 2025.
3559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this statiscally possible in a lottery? on: October 02, 2022, 07:42:57 PM
What do you think? Is this really possible in lottery?
For me it's possible as I remember back then some of the used lotto tickets i've seen from one of my friends are based on patterns or numbers that usually have a meaning behind them so if you look at it in a different way there would be more people leaning on these certain numbers compared to the others. Also, it made me wonder when was the last time the jackpot was hit with so many winners and if this is the highest number of winners that won the jackpot.

I would also agree that it is possible, I mean even though there are a lot of numbers and combination, still there is a chance the multiple bettors will bet on the same numbers.

Why? maybe those numbers have significance to them, age, birthday etc, so most likely probably. That's why I'm against the news that the Senate will involved themselves and try to investigate, geesh. Who will be their resource person? mathematicians and statisticians that will say that it is possible and what is the odds? Doesn't make sense to me.
