By the way, I don't think calling the races of dark skinned people monkies will win many friends either. Knock that on the head my friend. .

well apparently he won you as one , eh?

Implying I share the same attitude?

Huh?

Confusing because I didn't write </sarc> ?

Or maybe I really think black people are like monkies and was giving a subtle hint?

Or you just a bit too pedantic?

Such a minefield

no worries dude.
probably should've ended my post with   Wink .

3566  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: January 27, 2018, 01:56:08 AM
Answer to the OPs title: There is no proof.

There is difficulty in proving anything. The evidence for God is extremely great.

Scientists and medical researchers are finding that all of nature acts like a gigantic machine. This nature-machine is extremely complex, way beyond man's present understanding. Yet, they can't find a source that could have built the machine. So they try to attribute it to millions and billions of years of happenstance. The only thing that we see over long periods of time is decay. Never an increase in complexity.

Consider Bitcoin. How many thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of years will it take to crack the encryption in the blockchain? We all accept the complexity involved in Bitcoin. Yet it has taken years for people, "machine makers," to figure the Bitcoin thing out. The best programming technicians might be able to do the programming, but it doesn't make them able to crack the encryption.

Nature is like this, except that we haven't even come close to figuring out the programming, yet. And for sure, if we EVER figured out the programming, it would be untold, unimaginable eons of ADDITIONAL time before we could crack the encryption. But if we could crack the encryption, could we ever figure out what the Programmer of the universe was truly like?

The point is, Whoever, Whatever the Programmer of the universe is, He/She/It is way beyond anything that we will ever find on our own. And this is the reason why we use the word "God." The only way we will ever understand God is if He stoops down and reveals Himself to us (He did it in the Bible).

The REAL question isn't something like, "Are you serious that you think God exists?" Rather, the question is, "What are you doing involving yourself with Bitcoin if you, even slightly, think that God does NOT exist?" Bye!

Smiley

i dont think that this makes any sense

he hasn't been making any sense in this thread for almost 3 and a half  years.
you think he's gonna start now?

I mean they might as well have "OH GOD, WTF AM I DOING HERE IN THIS SHITSHOW! I FUCKING HOPE NO ONE RECOGNIZES ME!"
written all over their foreheads...

Don't get me wrong, I have no doubt that the Chinese put all kinds of trackers on their phones, primarily to keep tabs on their own people, but of course also spilling over to us roundeyes when we purchase a phone from them.

I just don't think those trackers have any consequences for me when I sweep my keys. That's why I asked for examples, If I'm proved wrong I would have to reexamine my position.

OK, If I overstated your position I apologize for that, and yes, I was unnecessarily dickish in the post that lit all this off, sorry.

If you are only using a phone to sweep a few bucks worth of forks out of addresses ALREADY EMPTIED of BTC (and actually I would say BCH depending on the balance) I guess the convenience may be worth the risk.

As far as examples, absence of proof is not proof of absence, phones get hacked all the time.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/21/business/dealbook/phone-hack-bitcoin-virtual-currency.html

These days only fools use text message 2fa .
Text message 2fa is not true 2fa for the very reason hackers can port your phone number.
google authenticater or authy  is true 2fa in that no phone number involved.

Also people going CRAZY over GPUs. People basically paying $1500 for GPUs and Computer Stores either Out of Stock on PSUs or REFUSING to sell PSUs without a Mobo+CPU combo.

People are mining on Nvidia these days?

Um ... yeah.
In my case, the past 4 years and counting...

So when bitcoin tanks and goes red, instead of clicking on the 1 day chart I just click on the one week chart,
and if that's red then I go for the 1 month... oh shit!! still red!? ...well ok, then the 3 month etc,
till I see it go green, then I'm like "ok I'm still good!...." ( I got about 3 years to go I think...)
of course this doesn't work for noobs....

New non mandatory wallet release version 3.0.0.15

Fixes issues associated with sudden power loss i.e. corrupt blockchain.

Source and Windows binary are available at:

https://github.com/DMDcoin/Diamond/releases/tag/3.0.0.15

Damn! My wallet got corrupted again!
2nd time in a week! Gotta reinstall tonite.
This is getting annoying. There was power
outage which I believe is the culprit as it was
last time.
Same symptoms anyway. Splash screen with
error message . Then disappears dead. Is this a bug possibly?
Will be reinstalling on another pc this time. Hopefully this won't become
a regular occurrence.

hey great to see the team jumped on this and fixed! thank you, great job and I will be up dating.
now if only my luck would change , still waiting on my 1st stake of 2018...

well i sold @12800

Your entire stash ?

It’s a bit like those guys who sold their entire stash at $8 per coin because it can’t go any higher.

yeah...  when kicking myself for selling  a chunk at $1000 early last year, (lesson learned, dont listen to delusional jew haters, lol)
I think of those that sold everything at $8, and I don't feel so bad....

Again, the lending wasn't a Ponzi

It was a ponzi. They advertised unrealistic return rates and last bagholders didn't get their money back. Your mental gymnastics can't change that fact.

Very good your analysis blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

...... <big snip of longest run on sentences on btctalk>......

blah blah blah .blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah  ad finitum  ....just say that greetings

I have a question about minting, how long does it take to hit a block with less than 200 coins? The coins in question have been in the same wallet since block 656. I have had the wallet open for a while now, but haven't seen anything. I've also not been able to keep it open longer than 12 hours if that could be part of the problem.

If you have only 200 DMD you will find one block every 10 days.
In this case, your wallet needs to be running.
So if you want to find a block every day, then you need to get more coins.
Or as an option to buy shares with regular payments (value per share 100 DMD) from service Miningfield

I only have a  small stack myself  but nonetheless I hit 7 stakes for month of december (2017) and  I was like  "sweeeet!! ..."
I guess laws of average caught up with me though (or difficulty maybe? idk)... still waiting on my 1st stake for 2018.... Sad
