Jeb Bush- Hillary Clinton ticket for President?

Quote
Laura Ingraham provided some snark for the second day of the CPAC conference in Maryland Friday morning.

Noting that Jeb Bush, the establishment Republican candidate, would be talking to the conservative gathering later in the day, she suggested that he could help the GOP with its persistent problem drawing women voters.

“I think Jeb could really explode the gender gap. And let me tell you how…I think women could actually turn out in droves. I mean, what woman doesn’t like a man who gives her a blank check at Tiffany’s?”

Ouch. The radio host and Fox News guest host was referring to the expensive tastes of Jeb’s wife, Columba, who apparently has a thing for bling.

In 1999 Columba Bush caused an embarrassing incident for her husband when she was caught trying to bring in about $19,000 of clothing and jewelry she’d bought on a Paris trip without declaring it at customs. Her excuse was that she didn’t want Jeb to know how much she’d spent.

But as embarrassing as that was, less than a year later, “she took out a loan to buy $42,311.70 worth of jewelry on a single day, according to records filed with the state of Florida,” the Washington Post reported.

Ingraham then sarcastically suggested that the presidential nomination process could be skipped altogether, and Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton could run on the same ticket.

“Go through the list of things they agree on: Common Core, amnesty, giving Obama fast-track trade authority — lot of new trade deals with China — the surveillance culture. So I’m designing the bumper sticker. ‘CLUSH 2016, What difference does it make?’”

I'm sick of the establishment getting to pick the nominees of both the major parties so whoever wins, there's no major policy change. Take their big govt stooges back to the democratic party where they belong and then the other party can be of, by and for the people. Goes to show how little of a crap they give about the average guy.

Rand Paul On His CPAC Straw Poll Win: ‘Constitutional Conservatives Have Spoken’

Quote
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate, thanked participants at the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) for handing him a victory in the 2015 CPAC straw poll.

“I am humbled by the enthusiastic support and encouragement I received this week at the Conservative Political Action Conference,” Paul said in a statement.

Our party is filled with constitutional conservatives who have chosen to stand with me for a third consecutive straw poll victory. Since President Ronald Reagan, the Conservative Political Action Conference has been the gold standard on where conservatives stand.

The Constitutional Conservatives of our party have spoken in a loud and clear voice today. I plan on doing my part and I hope you will join me as I continue to make the GOP a bigger, better and bolder party.

Load of crap. If the GOP cared about gun rights, it would have uninfringed the 2A each and every time it held the White House & majorities in Congress. Jim Crow is alive and well in America and law-abiding mentally sound people are getting killed daily because they were illegally disarmed by "gun control".
No doubt about that but it's generally thought of as a GOP issue whether they actually are strong on it or not. He's trying to make a point about the other amendments that GOP candidates/politicians should stand up for, thus differentiating himself as the person to broaden support and have a better shot at winning a national election in the eyes of primary voters.

Rand Paul: GOP needs to care about more than gun rights

Quote
The Republican Party needs to prove it values rights like freedom of speech and the right to a speedy trial as much as it values gun rights, Rand Paul said Friday.

"We do a great job defending the Second Amendment, and everybody knows that," the Kentucky senator and potential presidential candidate said at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). "But we have to defend the whole Bill of Rights."

"To defend the Second amendment, you have to defend the Fourth Amendment," he continued. "You need the First Amendment to protect the Second Amendment... The Fifth, the Sixth -- we should have speedy trials in our country."

Paul cited the case of Kalief Browder, an African-American teenager accused of a crime who spent three years in jail without even getting a trial. While behind bars, he tried to commit suicide several times.

Browder "lives in that 'other America' that Martin Luther King talked about," Paul said.

Rand Paul Supporters Walk Out Of Jeb Bush Speech

Quote
NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. -- A determined band of supporters of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) walked out on former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) on Friday as he spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

A few dozen Paul backers -- many of whom donned red "Stand With Rand" T-shirts -- quietly made their way down the middle aisle and out the door during Bush's speech. Once outside the main ballroom at the Gaylord National Convention Center, where Bush was speaking, they rowdily gathered and denounced the man many see as the Republican Party's leading candidate for president in 2016.

"We're here at CPAC, and I almost think it's a joke having Jeb Bush here because he doesn't stand for conservative principles," said Timothy Simons, 21, the Connecticut chairman of Young Americans for Liberty and one of the Paul supporters who walked out.

"I was part of the walkout, and I'll tell you why," said Allen Skillicorn, vice chairman of the Kane County Republican Party in Illinois. "If Jeb Bush is nominated, Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States. ... How is he any different?"

CPAC 2015 Straw Poll: Rand Paul wins again — but Scott Walker is surging

Quote
Sen. Rand Paul won The Washington Times/CPAC presidential preference straw poll for the third time in a row while Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker surged to second place, as they trounced the rest of a strong but crowded field of potential candidates Saturday.

Sen. Ted Cruz slipped to third place, down a rung from his showing last year, with retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson in fourth and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush fifth. Mr. Bush was booed by the crowd when his name was announced in the poll results, suggesting how polarizing a figure he is among conservatives.

The more than 3,000 activists who voted at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference also showed commanding support for legalizing marijuana, with a strong plurality of 41 percent saying it should be legal for recreational use, and another 26 percent saying Americans should be able to at least use it for medicinal purposes with permission of a doctor.

Walker had been leading the latest polling, which I posted here recently, so how could he be surging according to this article? Point is and hope yall are paying attention, whenever a Paul is in hot pursuit or the outright lead in a poll the media reporting of is shows how they state the obvious and then gloss over it w/ a secondary outtake that they're trying to drive home. Watching Fox right now and they reported it the same way. You'd think w/ Paul winning they'd want to talk to him and glorify what a great job he's doing.. Roll Eyes
3587  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [need advices] Where could I live? on: February 28, 2015, 11:02:09 PM
Depending where you live now, many parts in the US could be a major upgrade. If you value freedom which it sounds like you do, states like Colorado/Alaska/Montana/Idaho/New Hampshire/Vermont are good choices as they typically have lower populations and less inner cities so less special interests constantly lobbying the state against individual/economic liberty. There's different low key communities of different varieties all across the states so most of them would be okay.
3588  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Man gets life in prison for selling $20 worth of weed to undercover cop on: February 28, 2015, 10:55:52 PM
Where I live (northern state), this would be considered a misdemeanor and carry a punishment of a year on probation, drug counseling and fines. The southern conservative states typically are ass backwards when it comes to drug sentencing. I've seen cases of meth dealers in Oklahoma serving over a 100 yrs as a sentence yet someone convicted of 2nd degree murder would get life w/ parole. In most cases, whenever state try to loosen certain drug laws the police chiefs show up in force and fearmonger and legislatures always cower to them. weak

No time.  Quick message.  There has been much news today.

One piece no one has mentioned here.  Regulation of internet means everyone will have access to the internet, and thus to Bitcoin, by government guarantee.

And thus spreading the streaming around to all which means the current paying customers, that are used to superb service, are measured out to receive the mediocrity that this will provide. Like, give to all by mandate and those in the payment cycles will suffer streaming efficiencies but have no recourse because of this piece of buttcrack government shit. amiright? Grin

Thanks for the hard work, LP. You and your people are doing a great job getting this operation moving along in such a short time. Nice dividend too! I was really interested in your latest audio file you sent in the last shareholder email and am looking forward to the upcoming work that yall are doing in March to make the IPO on its way to fulfillment. When the assets under management grow larger, there'll be even better times down the line. So glad I linked up w/ this promising outfit. Just bought some more shares earlier. Grin

Ya, saw this on Fox earlier and they said he died of some obstructive pulminary blockage or whatever. I never did the star trek thing but I saw some representation of him on "The Big Bang Theory" as well as him appearing on some westerns (Gunsmoke - yall should watch old episodes Tongue) that I watched with my grandpa in the past. Spock as he was known.

The forum was created by satoshi. The domain is owned by Sirius, and managed by theymos.

I am not sure how theymos became administrator of the forum, however he is one of the very early users of bitcointalk.
I'm not sure of the particulars but I heard there was a sizable donation of coins to this forum for its operation to some extent.  Lips sealed Sounds like a very interesting timeline tho. I'd like to hear Theymos' opinions of the Bitcoin market up to this point, not sure I've ever been graced with this person's presence. Smiley Would be like a mystery unfolding..

3595  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bears are losing their grip on: February 28, 2015, 03:53:20 AM
I think it's starting to become clear that bears are losing their hold over this market. They try to instigate a panic with huge market sell orders or attempt to erode bull confidence with pump and dump tactics but the price still seems to be slowly but steadily pushing upwards if you filter out all that noise. Once the daily MACD goes into positive territory we could see a huge spike into the stratosphere. And I mean really huge because it will coincide with a breakout of the bullish wedge that has been forming since December 2013. I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks. Cool

I think the Bears have had their day(s), and the Huge Rally is finally starting to form.  Smiley

The Bears could totally get wiped out.
Wouldn't be a bad thing  though.
Got know when to fold em in these times. If ya live by the shorting sword in a changing market, you'll get punked out on your ass.

And what a year it was. We'll all look back when the roaring 20s come back and tell stories about the year of the bloodbath aka 2014.

Same thoughts here but where are the daily Brady Bunch trolls in this thread or did they get locked out? Troll hunting season looks like it's gonna start soon so it'll be interesting to see when they all bail and go into hibernation to avoid the lulz.

3599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Succeed (heres why) on: February 28, 2015, 02:32:58 AM
Perhaps in the future people will flock to only those exchanges that are insured or have a credit rating w/o a blemish. Also, if things were to stay the way they are with your scenario of sketchy exchanges, people would still take risks to trade what they will. I doubt w/ such large dollar bitcoin prices down the line that people will keep whole bitcoins on these exchanges but rather just trade in bits instead, thus leaving their exposure more modest. I'm not worried about down the line, just the path to get to a setting where that could be a problem first.

Russian Politician Boris Nemtsov Killed in Moscow

Quote
The head of the Moscow police department is on the scene, according to TASS news agency. Moscow police sources say there were witnesses to the shooting who are now being questioned.

"Today at approximately 11:15 PM Nemtsov was walking with a female companion along the Bolshoy Kamenniy bridge.  A car approached, from which several shots were fired.  Four shots hit Nemtsov in the back," Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Elena Alekseeva said.

"The woman who was with him is at this moment being questioned at a Moscow police station."

An investigative committee spokesman says seven shots were fired.

Moscow police are engaged in an active search for the shooter or shooters, who have not been identified.

http://sputniknews.com/russia/20150228/1018865497.html

I feel bad for the woman witness at this point. I bet this was a hit put out by Putin considering there was some rally planned against him coming up. They were just reporting on this on Fox and mentioned that.

The woman that was with Nemtsov is from Kiev. How much are you going to bet?
I'm certainly not going to bet the farm on it, more conjecture than anything else. However, Putin said he was going to oversee the investigation personally. That doesn't exactly inspire much confidence in my mind. If the woman was a friend of sorts of this guy then we know what side she's on. If she's a potential double agent of sorts that brought him to his death zone, then there that is.
