3581  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: My bitcoin is frozen at Paxful and they won't let me withdraw it on: March 09, 2021, 06:14:16 PM
I still not get my funds yet! what were you mentioned about???
AFAIK, if there is no response from the other side after you provided enough evidence that you paid him then the case will be resolved on your side. So keep asking about the support team to contact the other side and if they are not receiving response then you will get your account back or atleast the balance left there.

Threads like this. Cool
3583  Other / Meta / Re: Shame question - links in signature on: March 09, 2021, 03:26:06 PM
I wonder how to report someone who is selling illegal products even on the marketplace because it is against the rules but they keep doing it for years? Roll Eyes
Had you used the report to moderator button? If it doesn't work then you may PM with the details to the appropriate moderators why and how do you think selling products are illegal and against forum rules. I have past experience about such as report when the report to moderator thread marked bad or unhandled, then I wrote the appropriate moderators and they have been taking action. If somehow both are not working then proceed to create a thread with the details, hope it would work eventually if really there is something against forum rules.
I used to report the moderator button when I see such threads but not for every thread because even I am not sure that those or legal or illegal in the region they were selling because some products banned in some region but free to use on other regions. So I just report them after that no further action because a mod is eventually going to see that and if they feel that its appropriate then they leave it there for some reasons.
3584  Other / Meta / Re: Shame question - links in signature on: March 09, 2021, 02:08:12 PM
I am curious: If someone wanted to advertise in their signature space that they are selling bet365 accounts, PayPal accounts, and/or cheap Microsoft product keys, would that be allowed considering that some of these goods are on sale in the marketplace?
I guess they are allowed, but it is not a legal the user may get tagged but I am sure that banning is not likely to happen.

3585  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can someone make step-by-step instructions on how to withdraw from coinbase? on: March 09, 2021, 08:57:47 AM
We ended up getting a third friend to exchange the bitcoin and give my other friend PayPal money. The end game was to get the fiat into his PayPal account so I think the card is linked to it.
So basically you guys are doing peer to peer transaction and make sure that third friend involved here is trust worthy because in Paypal user can chargeback the sent money for the next 180 days.
3586  Other / Archival / Re: Account was hacked on: March 09, 2021, 07:04:01 AM
XRP I haven't attempted recovering yet (long story).

I think it should be obvious that it's me if there's any public IP log. The hacker is from a foreign country, and I have a public IP from the same state that I originally posted. I also have all of the bitcointalk emails in my gmail account. The original email I signed up as, literally has my name in it which I can verify.

On one of my posts I posted an eBay link to a phone I was selling: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199309.30;imode
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-S4-16GB-AT-T-/271208209939#ht_20wt_1359

I still have access to my eBay account and can verify.

http://ebay.us/xBtag7?cmpnId=5338273189 -- made a new ebay post from the same account https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199309.30;imode

Post from other sources are not really accepted as proof of ownership, AFAIK, you need to sign in a message from one of your previous used bitcoin address from current date.
3587  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: March 07, 2021, 02:07:50 PM
Which country you are residing in? Even if the tax rates are increased, that should not have much impact on the food prices. Because the governments almost never increases the tax on agricultural products. However, increasing oil prices may cause additional expenses in transporting food products. Here in my country there has been no increase in the food prices. We are paying the same rates that we used to pay before the pandemic.
It is not the issue with particular country, it is happening all over the world but the amount maybe unnoticeable but surely the prices are increased due to the tax change policies. You can think that few cents increase on the fuel price may not affect the food products but the transportation of raw material and the transportation or complete material, then importing transport will add and sump up a huge value for sure.

No. It is not happening all over the world. Here in Singapore there was no significant increase in the food prices. My friends in India are also of the same opinion. And here we import most of the food products, so the impact should have been visible if there was an increase. Taxes are getting hiked, as the governments have now received a shot in the arm with the ongoing pandemic. They got the excuse to increase the taxes further.
Singapore is a very small, rich and less populated country which means government can bear their tax burdens from their existing money but I don't think you are right with what is happening in India, the price keep increasing since the implementation of GST and also their wrong finance policies killing small businesses for years now.
3588  Economy / Gambling / Re: Survey on fees in order to play on gambling games, please check this out! :) on: March 07, 2021, 10:16:48 AM
Even though these gambling sites are charging pay for instant withdrawals, most of the sites are still doing ot as batches so they are making profits from it which makes the players to wait longer for the fee they paid for it.

Are you aware of some gambling websites which do not charge you fees at all? The only difference between them and other gambling sites is, their minimum withdrawal is higher compared to others. Except this, there is nothing different and you can enjoy almost all games that you find on other websites. If network fees are a reason for concern to gamblers, they must switch to other altcoins that are believed to perform good during this bull run because if the price shifts down, your profits will suffer.
I know FJ offers one free withdrawal every week for their user and it may take few mins to hours to proceed your transaction no matter it is free or paid. And look at the most of the gambling sites they never mention instant withdrawals, they mention it ad high priority which means your transaction may be procceed faster but not immediately at that time when you wanted to withdraw.
3589  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase support on: March 06, 2021, 06:32:34 PM
snip~
You may get the faster solution if you try to contact them via twitter but since its just few days then you need to calm down a bit, even I waited weeks to get an automated reply from coinbase and also many of my tickets were unanswered by them so just wait for some to take your case it certainly needs time.
I don't think that will have a guarantee to get a faster solution to his problem, it seems right now the Coinbase and Coinbase pro was busy upgrading their system and we hope they will include their poor customer support, it's 12 hours ago they announced of having an upgrade of their system and it is supposedly today.

People who had issues for months resolved when they try to give more pressure on their social media channels because admin of those accounts are real person so they can see your issue if it gets more attention from the other users so they will pass this to their customer support directly so it may get priority or atleast the visibility to the real person who is in customer support.

3591  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: March 06, 2021, 01:50:53 PM
After a year of this thread, I can clearly say that prices are increased but it is yet to be doubled in my region. Governments are increasing tax rates at the time of Pandemic not it is getting added to the actual price of the products and it will increase further when the new normal begins.

Which country you are residing in? Even if the tax rates are increased, that should not have much impact on the food prices. 3592  Other / Meta / Re: Should the Scam Accusations & Reputation sections be more restricted/moderated? on: March 06, 2021, 11:36:30 AM
In my opinion those few posts are not big issues when we consider the amount of spam on other sections. I would like to have strict moderation on all over the forum because it is like we are again flooded with spam threads all over the forum due to the bull run?!

Exactly this. Majority of boards are swamped with useless/poorly constructed threads and those Scam accusation & Reputation boards are not really exception here.

That of course doesn't mean that there shouldn't be some order there, but if mods gonna enforce stricter rules, why not then do the same for rest of the forum, like Bitcoin Discussion and Altcoin board which are complete mess.

Its difficult to impose more restrictions as then it will harm the freedom of speech and also forum admins does not make the forum a jail for the posters.

There are already many ways available to stop the spam and one of them is to report the post. The mods are doing good job as most of  the reported posts, which are not up to the mark gets deleted.
Strict moderations doesn't means more restrictions, people are free to post what they want as long as they add some value to the discussion on the thread they are writing which seems missing on the discussion boards like Altcoin discussion, etc.
3593  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost Bitcoines In A Transaction to Coinbase on: March 06, 2021, 09:44:44 AM
But I guess it is possible to see all the generated address in their account by logging into their desktop site.
Is this possible? I have no idea since I have never and will never own a Coinbase account, but if they do indeed show a list of all your previous deposit addresses then it should be trivial for OP to check if the address he sent coins to - 1Q6Boa9VQxxcCCNDKK1dennXSud1m5ALAc - is indeed associated with his Coinbase account or not.

Yes it is possible, and it can be seen only if user logged into their account and redirect to : https://www.coinbase.com/addresses

So they can see all the previous address used for deposit in the past since the account creation.
3594  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Iphone attack/hack? I was asked for name, number and IMEI on: March 05, 2021, 03:22:02 PM
So your wallet and 2FA codes are safe and nothing to worry
There is no guarantee of that if he handed his phone over to a third party and left it in their possession for several hours, lock screen enabled or not.
There are multiple ways to unlock an iPhone without passcode or face Id but I am sure it can't be done with basic details like name and IMEI number. Or am I wrong?

*I hate Apple products... Grin
3595  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Iphone attack/hack? I was asked for name, number and IMEI on: March 05, 2021, 02:10:12 PM

Ok so I have disabled that phone as a trusted device for my wallet app.

I have also taken out the email password so that the phone no longer knows or store the email password on the apple server.

They did not ask me to unlock the phone, infact I made sure it was locked before I gave it to them

So your wallet and 2FA codes are safe and nothing to worry, I think they might asked you those details for billing purpose and it is impossible to replicate IMEI number because its unique identity for every sim slots so it can be created only once.
3596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: inactivity fee on: March 05, 2021, 12:29:43 PM
There is no such kind of fees collected in any exchanges I traded until now, you can still access the funds after years with no worries and no debit but I heard that some local exchanges have such fee like wallet maintenance fee which is similar to we pay year credit debit card fees to banks but I never met such exchanges yet.
3597  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Unable to login to Coinbase -- authenticator problem on: March 05, 2021, 10:04:12 AM
Yesterday I got a support ticket from Coinbase but they haven't called me yet.

To complicate the issue, because of my phone issues I just ordered a Samsung Galazy M51 which should arrive tomorrow.  If the support person calls before I receive the new phone I should probably ask him to call again later after I get it.  I'll be keeping the same phone number, but I don't know what other implications there might be.

Don't worry anyone from coinbase will never contact you on calls, everything will happen on the email chats. Even if you receive the new phone, don't restore it, just wait for your complications to get sorted because you may have some files which will be deleted if your restore them to factory reset.
3598  Other / Meta / Re: [ENDED] [Quizz] My Bitcointalk Quizz #2 on: March 05, 2021, 09:18:16 AM
Wah,, my name is there. Only 40 people participated in the quizz or its just a leader board?

Since this is the fun quizz why we need to cheat, just check the knowledge by yourself without cheating, if we wanted everyone can answer everything right by using random name first time and actual name second time.
3599  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Freewallet wrongfully promoting their services on news platform on: March 04, 2021, 05:56:06 PM
<...>
But, why only Freewallet mentioned? Haven't you heard about Freewallet freezing users account? What if the price of cryptocurrencies decreased at the time. The thing is, both Freewallet and exchanges are all offering custodial services. In this regard, Freewallet is not a good example, to be able to have access to your coin anytime you want, you need to have a noncustodial wallet, and Freewallet is custodial and not a good example, users do not have the private key to the coins they are having there on their Freewallet account, and not your key not you coin. Such inconveniences can occur on any platform providing custodial services, be it wallets or exchanges.
Because its just an sponsored advertisement, so people who are going to trust because of an article from Cointelegraph or any other reputed sites still they need to make enough research. Myself found that Freewallet is kind of shady/scammy wallet but also there are people who recovered their funds after providing the KYC documents they wanted which means people started using the wallet without know what are their ToS.
3600  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Elon Musk's twit caused the Bitcoin bubble burst? on: March 04, 2021, 02:59:31 PM
He made some profits with his previous tweet so did the same and got the reap as well because price again went to 50K from 44k, and it shows that cryptos prices cannot be controlled even by the richest people on the planet.
