3582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: signs of gambling addiction on: July 16, 2021, 07:45:14 AM
For me, yes it can be considered as addiction to gambling if you're thinking about it while sleeping. I think addiction is already apparent if it interferes with your daily routine and what you should be doing in life compared to gambling all the time. Keep in mind, if luck doesn't turn in your favor, you are losing not just money but your time as well. In terms of strategy, like everything in life there should be balance. It would be hard at first but accepting that gambling is a game of luck should truly wake you up and hopefully make you a "responsible" player of online gambling.

I believe that even if a person thinks about gambling many times during the day it is already the first indicator that he has acquired a gambling addiction. To understand this it is enough to compare yourself with an alcoholic who stops thinking about alcohol only when he sleeps.
3583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sexy casinos on: July 16, 2021, 06:56:15 AM
I've never played in that kind of casino. In my opinion, the entertainment should be separated, because in pursuit of several entertainment at once you can not have time to enjoy all of them. If you want to stare at the sexy girls it's better to visit a striptease bar.
Gambling is already for entertainment and that's enough for you to have fun so I also don't think the reason for looking on a sexy girl or what while playing on a casinos, you can discretely do this on those bar. Though some gambler might find this interesting, but I doubt casinos will ever do this, this is not their business and against the regulations for sure.

The image of sexy girls is a clever move by marketers, which has long been used to attract customers in various fields, as this image provokes the release of hormones, which in turn contribute to mood elevation and better assimilation of information.

3586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: July 15, 2021, 06:01:30 PM
I was thinking that many countries are reluctant to legalise certain activities such as gambling, prostitution, smoking, ... and, apart from countries that have strong social and religious restrictions (I refer to those as the death-by-boredom countries) others simply consider than the state should not profit or allow activities that are considered diminishing for the workers or that may harm their health and personal relations (it must be difficult to be an addict to gambling or a prostitute and have a normal life).

However, other countries simply set high taxes to these activities, which I think is a false morality, as if by paying these activities can be less questionable. (Note: I personally do not question regulated gambling).

I don't think the government really cares about the health of its citizens. This multi-billion dollar shadow market in drugs, weapons, prostitution, etc. is under the influence of various criminal gangs that work closely with the authorities. So it makes no sense for them to legalize this market.

I got the idea of a striptease bar with gambling elements: you look at the striptease of sexy girls, but in the end they turn out to be not girls at all  Grin And it's good if this does not happen at the stage of a private dance  Grin Grin
By the way, I'm sure such an establishment will be very popular among some "progressive" communities.

I don't like that idea))) they should stay girls until the end)

Unfortunately I've already forgotten the last time I went to a strip bar, if I'm not mistaken it was about 10 years ago. I used to be able to go to such places quite often, but life has forced me to change my priorities.

3589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 15, 2021, 01:04:59 PM
My gambling budget depends on how many times a month I visit an online casino. For me, it is enough to visit a gambling site once or twice a month, but sometimes it happens that I just do not manage to visit it. The main restriction that I set for myself is a deposit of no more than $100.

I don't think that the information about the doubling of the stakes of two players from the forum somehow reflects the real statistics. Don't forget that many people lost their jobs because of the pandemic and have to subsist on welfare, if they are entitled to it of course. Many families around the world have lost their breadwinners as the virus hits the lungs of adults and the elderly harder. So this is a very controversial issue.

3592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambler? on: July 14, 2021, 04:44:00 AM
Avoiding gambling addiction is a must, but many people become addicted to gambling in the long term because they do not realize it. While they are at home and have internet access, a gambler will have much time to browse the internet and try to play online gambling. If they do not have another thing that can make them busy, they will busy in the gambling games and slowly, it will start to disturb their lives. If we can become responsible gamblers, we can avoid gambling addiction, and even we can play and stop gambling anytime because we know that playing gambling is just fills our free time.
The problem with the current pandemic situation is forcing most people to stay at home, and for people who are used to playing gambling.
So the entertainment options they can do by playing online gambling, if left in the long term can indeed cause addiction. I agree with you
we need to look for other positive activities, so that we can be busy and can prevent excessive gambling. Right now I try to keep myself busy
by exercising and reading a lot of books, so I limit my gambling time to every weekend only.
Actually, this pandemic gives that gambler privilege to play online gambling, especially for those who try to make money from gambling. But the problem is how they can manage their time not playing gambling all day long because they should remember that we need to be more active and search for other jobs that can help us make money. Hopefully, we always remember that we need that money and need to get new jobs and always prevent the addiction that can come to us anytime.

Those players who wanted to play online could easily do so even before the pandemic, because online casinos appeared long before the pandemic. The pandemic only attracted newcomers who were forced to spend their time looking for ways to have fun without leaving home.
Yes, online casinos appeared long before the pandemic but at that time, crypto online gambling is not too popular as these two years, especially when the pandemic starts in every country. So when the government asks their citizen to stay at home and work from home, those people will have more time to do many things, including playing gambling. That makes almost every online things become popular and online gambling gets more visitors because people come to their website because of the advertisement everywhere.

People who make money from gambling are not many and most of them came into this field long before the pandemic. The pandemic only contributed to the outflow of players from gambling houses to online casinos and of course attracted newcomers who were forced to find new entertainment.
3593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vegas Casinos to allow Cannabis Lounges. on: July 14, 2021, 04:33:40 AM
I am not experienced in this, so I can not assume any specific things about the motivation of drug addicts  Grin But it seems to me that this is relevant for beginners who experiment and try different things and their combinations. An experienced addict (from gambling or from drugs) knows exactly what he wants and it is unlikely that this is a visit to the casino (if he is addicted to drugs).

I read a lot about different kinds of drug addiction. I wondered why people use drugs and how it affects their health and the people around them. If I'm not mistaken, a cannabis addict can easily combine his addiction with almost any activity, which cannot be said about a person who uses heroin or some other hard drugs.

Никогда бы не подумал, что настолько снизится активность новичков на форуме. Полагаю что если оставить систему монетизации для младших рангов без изменений, то скоро активности не будет совсем.
3595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerian government changing the state of lotteries on: July 13, 2021, 08:42:01 AM
Recently there has been an increasing tendency to replenish the coffers of various states at the expense of ordinary citizens rather than by the competent use of resources and funds from the budget to create new jobs and modernize various industries. Personally, I see only negative things in such decisions.
3596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vegas Casinos to allow Cannabis Lounges. on: July 13, 2021, 08:28:45 AM
wow if this will come to reality ? then i would love visiting this casino for more enjoyable and fun gaming   Grin

wondering how the experience of Smoking weed inside casino houses? this is once in a lifetime experience though in Casino hotels i already tried smoking in the past but not inside the casino literally .

But what I'm seeing here is the negative effect and the total protest they will earn once this will  allowed.

What's stopping you from smoking weeds before visiting a casino or smoking at home and playing online? In my opinion, mixing different pleasures is a dubious idea, especially in this case - gambling gives adrenaline, and smoking weed relaxes. Thus, you will receive not an increase in sensations, but a weakening.

Many addicts believe that using drugs helps them expand their consciousness. Perhaps this is the reason why cannabis smokers go out and attend public events to get new experiences rather than using cannabis alone at home.
3597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take for a game to "hook" people on: July 13, 2021, 08:00:13 AM
It is now a big trend have you heard or read Axie infinity, people now can make money playing and breeding their online pets and it's not few bucks there are people who are making thousands of dollars playing this game, the design is not that great but people are attracted to this kind of game because of people posting their payout proof,

Yes, compared to other games, the design and layout of Axie Infinity are not that great and I doubt it will get the interest of other people if it has no play-to-earn feature. But because of its gameplay especially the feature to earn real money, it hooked those people even with no knowledge at all to crypto and those who aren't interested in playing an online game.

Only gamers will be hooked on those usual games, as they should be. But for other people to get involved, they need a big reason why should they play a certain game, and mostly, they want a profitable game on which these blockchain games made possible.

In blockchain games can make good money only players who joined the game among the very first players by buying game items and characters for small money that eventually rose in price due to increased demand and the rest just spend their money trying to catch up with them in development that is very difficult to do.

~

I am very familiar with both depression and gambling addiction. Depressed people can only improve their emotional state with the help of medical professionals or antidepressants or they are doomed to suffer all their lives. No one has ever beaten depression by going to a casino.
I know that and I am not trying to say that casinos can cure depression, what I was trying to say is that depressed people find ways to have some sort of rush felt inside them and at the same time have self destructive behavior and gambling can cater both am I right?

People who are deeply depressed are not interested in visiting gambling sites or other entertainment. I will say more, such people are not looking for ways to feel a burst of energy. They are constantly in a depressed state and absolutely nothing pleases them. So if you are able to get out of depression by playing blackjack or slots this is the first sign of gambling addiction but not depression.
3600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: signs of gambling addiction on: July 12, 2021, 11:24:07 AM
~

You are deeply mistaken because in a state of depression a person loses interest in absolutely all hobbies and is constantly in a depressed state. If a person is happy to spend his free time at an online casino, it is not a depression but a game addiction that can also depress a person if there is no opportunity to play.
Dude, you are seeing it one sided for depression. Not everyone who has a depression loses interest in things, some don't even show they're depressed. That's why I said that it's like a depression and addiction combination. Gambling gives a sudden rush and depressed people always wants to find a way for them to get that rush.

I am very familiar with both depression and gambling addiction. Depressed people can only improve their emotional state with the help of medical professionals or antidepressants or they are doomed to suffer all their lives. No one has ever beaten depression by going to a casino.
