3581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Create a Quality Post (Topics). on: April 14, 2022, 06:26:22 AM
The quality of a post is determined by how the post affected the reader.
And how do you think poorly formatted wall of text with no paragraphs, and missing punctuation will affect the readers? Majority will probably just skip it, even if its a solid content. Both things are important, especially if we are talking about longer posts/topics.

See a thread in this forum where a mistake of misspelling, became one of the most quality posts in this forum and a monumental word in crypto. Instead of HOLDING, he spelt HODLING.
I AM HODLING
One of the most iconic topics on the forum? For sure. But certainly not one of the most quality ones. If you read that topic, you will notice that OP knew that he misspelled hold word twice but in the end simply didn't care as he was drunk. That's certainly not a reason not to care about proper spelling hoping that misspelled words will catch on.

@OP We already have something similar, tranthidung's Bitcointalk posting etiquette guide.
3582  Economy / Reputation / Re: marwell continually posting links to fake wallets. on: April 13, 2022, 07:33:38 PM
For links to fake wallets/sites, it's more a problem for mods. If it's systematic, he deserves a ban. Did you report these posts ?
I thought that someone who posts link to fake wallet gets insta ban and that he doesn't get the 2nd or 3rd chance, like those that share fake miners usually get banned instantly. And if they are not getting banned, they should.

Flag supported.
3583  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need some marketing strategy on: April 13, 2022, 07:24:12 PM
Also if someone find out that a project using a shill to boost up their project for sure there are people will think about this as red flag to them so in the end this is risky marketing option for legit project because they might fail for this situation.
Tbh, I don't think that average crypto investor even cares about projects using shilling services. On the contrary, they even ask for "more marketing", which usually consists of shilling on social media platforms, either via low level spammers or hiring KOLs.

I guess they need to be more organic and organize some good stuff like promotion or other things which can wake up the interest of their target markets. They better hire a guy who's expert on marketing field especially on crypto since for sure they can get a good strategic marketing methods that can help them boost their sales or traffics.
That's the thing, even marketing experts are using shillers. Maybe better ones that look more organic to untrained eye, but shillers nevertheless.

To be honest with you, about 98% of all new altcoin projects shill their project in other words some people said they are hyper based but I personally don't see anything bad in it if the project shill is genuine because shilling is another form of crypto advertisement.
I would say more like 99.99%. Then again, what to do when you don't have the real product other than shill the shit out of your useless token, and as we know vast majority of them don't have any real use case other  be traded on the exchanges.
3584  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 13, 2022, 02:26:12 PM
Another good month.
This time I didn't come first, we know why. But it was a lively month, in general.
Hah yeah, that troll was spamming all over the place so no wonder that he ended up at the top. Nevertheless you still did great!

It represents the number of total posters on each board and merited users (note that the Turkish number was missing). Trying to complete the analysis, I also plotted the ratio between the two numbers.
Looks interesting, I haven't thought about these kind of combinations but might as well play a little bit with it. Cheers!

Don't you think it's an excellent chart? It would be nice if you could gather up more charts in one scenario. But, If you put a lot of info on a single image, Sometimes people can be confused. Still, this chart looks acceptable to me. I am not asking Rikafip to follow these methods Because if you can brief as many details as possible (Which you are already doing), That will be easy to understand.
Yep, chart looks good and I will certainly think about doing something similar in the next overviews, if I can implement it properly.
3585  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please enlighten me on: April 13, 2022, 10:34:59 AM
Moving to El Salvador might be a better option for you, if you're looking for privacy and to living a life where you do transaction in cryptocurrency , So that is the only country that you can have that kind of system of living. But Aside that, we're yet to embrace the system. Then for privacy in this digital age ,it's almost impossible to have such kind of live.
Have you ever checked what's the quality of life in Salvador before advising someone to move there? Sure, you can pay with Bitcoin there but that doesn't mean much if you get shot or mugged.

@OP life is hard enough without trying living using solely bitcoin  (and by that I mean no payment processors or crypto debit cards) so don't make it even harder by trying something like that. What you can do though is focus on the things that you can pay with Bitcoin and even that would be a good start as many bitcoiners are still just hodling and are not willing to spend it even when they have a chance for that.
3586  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Nigeria local board on: April 13, 2022, 10:27:15 AM
On behalf of all industrious and actively involved Nigerians on this forum, I once again crave the indulgence of theymos as the CinC of bitcointalk to kindly consider our noble plea for a local board
Have you ever (by "you" I mean members of Nigerian community) tried contacting Cyrus regarding your request as he is moderating Other Languages section to get any sort of feedback what would be the requirement for getting the local board. He helped us when we asked for more child boards in our local, so maybe you can get some answers from him.

By the way, I released the new brief monthly overview of the local boards activity and you are 11th most active community, ahead of many others that have their own local board so hopefully you can use those numbers as another argument.
3587  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 13, 2022, 07:06:08 AM
To show that last month was not a fluke, here is another monthly overview of the local boards that is released in the reasonable time frame. As always charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space. Thanks guys for your awesome tools!

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards. Not yet at least.

Post activity per local board during March 2022

After few months of decline, we finally have increase; during March 2022, 19044 posts were written across local boards which is 7% increase compared to February. I honestly expected for this decline to continue but I am glad that I was wrong. As always, Russian board is far ahead of the other and that number is even more impressive when you take into consideration that in order to access bitcointalk from Russia you have to use VPN. Rest of the top 5 consist of standard names: Turkish, German, Indonesian and Portuguese boards, while similar situation is at the bottom that is also occupied by usual suspects.

When it comes to biggest gainers, only 2 really stand out, and they don't even have their own local board, Pakistan and Nigerian. While in February  Pakistan post count was already impressive 301  in March they had 696 that is 130% increase that puts them at very high 6th spot. Regarding Nigerian, their increase is impressive as well; from 191 in February to 348 in March so that makes it ~78% increase.

Number of posters per local board during March 2022

Even though there was a decent increase in the amount of posts written, that was not followed by the increase of active members as during March 1359 users wrote at least 1 post, while February number was slightly higher, 1396 users. Given that fact, numbers are very similar to the previous period whihc is kinda expected anyway as new members don't easily come and disappear but rather people increase or decrease their activity.

Post/user ratio per local board for March 2022

Due popular demand and suggestion, I am introducing new chart that shows post per user ratio across local boards. As expected, more active boards tend to have higher ratio as it makes it much easier to enter into discussions if you have more different users.

Merit shared per local board during March 2022

The increase of number of posts was followed by merit increase; during March. 6981 merits were shared that makes it approximately 10% increase compared to February during which 6340 merits were shared across all local boards. When it comes to ranks, no surprises there: Russian is far ahead followed by Turkish, German and Italian. Top 8 is almost identical to February, with only Indonesian board dropping few spots down.

When it comes to biggest gainers, three  boards that stand out are Pakistan and Italian. Italian board increased merit shared by ~36% (from 539 to 736) and that is  a very good result for such a big board, while Pakistan board had the biggest increase, from 130 in February to 200 during March and all that while not even having their own local board. Worth mentioning are also French and Nigerian who also had decent increase but imho those numbers could be even higher.

Regarding decrease of the merit shared, the only local board that stands out is Indonesian that had 322 merits shared during March, which is almost 40% decrease compared to February and 536 merits shared.

Merit senders/receivers per local board for March 2022

As always, pretty straightforward chart. The only difference I may make in the future is to sort the boards by total amount of senders/receivers and not based on the amount shared like I was doing for now.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for March 2022

More or less the same names are at the top, with Dutch board kinda screwing up the chart. Such a high merit/post ratio tends to happen with less active boards as its very easy to affect it by reltively small amount of merit shared. like it happened in March. That's why I introduced the 12 month average part so it gives a clearer picture of what's really going on in the local boards and to negate these amplitudes.

The most active members per local board during March 2022

And for the end of this monthly overview, list of the most active members across all local boards and several that are yet to get that status.

there are a lot im not sure which .... i was asking for something someone here use
Here is the the list of recommended bitcointalk escrow services so as long as you stick to those, you should be fine. The only question is whether they will want to do the business with you if you want it for account sales which is something that is frowned upon here, to say the least.

In fact, many exchangers can have our logo without being our partners, as it is our requirement to place the logo.As such, our logo without partnership does not necessarily mean that the exchanger is not legit, you need to look at other factors as well.
Yeah I understand that, but they explicitly named you as one of the partners on their website. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my previous post but its basically the same case like this one from a few weeks ago.

Is it only available for selected roles or for everyone?
Afaik, its only available to Hero/Legendary members, VIP, donators and mods.
3592  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: April 12, 2022, 06:48:25 AM

Also i see on your page that you'r partnets with bestchange.com but on him website you are not on partners list. So i think you try to scam people.

100% scammers , i try to connect with them in live chat and ask them about partnership with bestchange.com and they ban me from chat Cheesy
Yep, most likely scammers as I couldn't find any mention of them on BestChange website either and of course fake reviews is another red flag. Anyway, I asked about them in BestChange thread and once they confirm that they have nothing to do with them I will raise the flag but until then negative tag will suffice.
3594  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: April 12, 2022, 06:27:04 AM
Hey @Best_Change, seems like there is yet another exchanger that is trying to use your name in order to appear more legit so can you please confirm that you have nothing to do with them as I can't find their name on your website. They would probably remain unnoticed if they haven't paid for fake reviews in their ANN thread.

3595  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need some marketing strategy on: April 12, 2022, 05:50:52 AM
He can create a thread to what he is offering but right now we need to discuss what's on the topic guerilla marketing is also effective and you just need a good imagination to implement this, this is just one of the explanations of what Guerilla marketing is

What Is Guerrilla Marketing? 11 Examples to Inspire Your Brand
While guerrila marketing can indeed be very efficient and is often used, when it comes to crypto it's just an euphemism for classic shilling. They go around ANN threads, Telegram groups, Twitter and other social media platforms making those fake conversations that can be spotted miles away and are generally of very low quality.
3596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever tried to live only on Bitcoin? on: April 11, 2022, 05:42:04 PM
That's true. I used it a time when I made some good profits, so I didn't pay that much attention.
Yeah that's the thing about the fees, they are not a problem until you start buying something regularly. Let's say that you are making 8-10 round trip flights per year, 10% higher price adds up and it's not like you can remain anonymous when buying the airline ticket. But it's a good thing nevertheless, to have that extra option as you never know when you could have issues with your card. That reminds me of the article I read recently about bunch of Russian tourists that got stranded in some country as their credit/debit cards and flights home got cancelled due sanctions. That's why I always try to have few hundreds of dollars on my mobile phone bitcoin wallet as you never know when you gonna need it.

So, the only option for a long time will be to exchange the crypto into a fiat and live from it and, when possible, spend the crypto directly in those few places where it is possible.
Not the only option; you can move to Salvador and freely spend your bitcoin there Cheesy. Joke aside I agree, still a long road ahead for bitcoin to reach the point where we can spend it directly on majority of places and some compromises will have to be made. What surprise me though is are people that are complaining about adoption  going slow, while bitcoin has been around for only ~13 years which is nothing really, and so much has been done already.
3597  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever tried to live only on Bitcoin? on: April 11, 2022, 02:31:12 PM
I have financed parts of my holidays with Bitcoin. Sites like Travala accept crypto for hotels and airline tickets. They even accept LN payments.
I heard about Travala but never really bothered to check it out as I don't know anyone irl that used them and didn't want to risk buying airline ticket and then finding out that something is wrong at the check in, but good to hear that they are legit. I just compared the prices with skyscanner (which I usually use when buying airline tickets) and Travala is on average 10% more expensive. Not a big difference for cheap flights, but when you are buying round trip ticket that costs $500+, its noticeable. Since I travel a lot I will try to use them this year to see how is it going on.

And like you said, Croatia and the Balkans aren't really the places for that. I have had more luck when I am in Germany, but lately I find it much easier to convert whatever I plan to spend to fiat and just use that.
While situation may be better in Germany, I don't think that you could live solely on Bitcoin (excluding 3rd party) there either and probably nowhere in Europe for that matter. At least not normal life, without serious constraints. I don't really know what's the situation in Bosnia and Serbia regarding crypto adoption, but Croatia ain't bad at all, especially if we count all the merchants that are using Paycek and other payment processors. Slovenia is probably far ahead the other ex-Yu countries, but they don't count themselves as Balkan anyway. Cheesy
3598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever tried to live only on Bitcoin? on: April 11, 2022, 10:54:31 AM
This YouTuber lives in Canada, a country in the West. So, naturally, it’s easier to do it there than in many poorer regions of the world. But it’s still an intriguing and courageous live choice. If all of it is true, of course.
At first I thought that he is paying everything directly with Bitcoin, no 3rd party services included and that would be extremely hard to do but then I saw that he is using services like bitrefill which makes it easier so yeah, I don't think that is impossible at all but kudos to him nevertheless, its certainly not an easy thing to do and is still very rare.

If using payment processors like Paycek, crypto debit cards and BTC ATMs counts as living on bitcoin then I can say that I lived many times for days in a row while max was ~2 weeks (went on a holiday and everything was paid with previously mentioned methods) and I know some people irl that lived much longer than that. If we exclude those methods and count only direct bitcoin payments with no 3rd party involved, I don't think that something like that is possible in Croatia.

What about you, have you tried living on bitcoin?
3599  Economy / Reputation / Re: Nutildah? on: April 11, 2022, 06:38:09 AM
Nutildah finally showed signs of life. This is very pleasing. On April 1, he changed his avatar.
I hope it's a sign of him coming back and not just April 1st joke. Looking at the avatar I think it might be the latter but I would be gladly proven wrong.

Nutildah, come back, the forum misses you. I have learned a lot from you, and I would like to have you among us.

3600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and DCA w/ Results on: April 11, 2022, 05:43:59 AM
yep the whole idea of DCA is to tempt people into blindly buying at whatever price every month so that those that want to exit can have a higher price to sell at. on a predictive day,
Nah, the whole idea of DCA to making investing in something that you believe in the long run as simple as possible, I don't think that there is some conspiracy going on. After all no one is putting gun to your head to buy at 1st of each month, that date is just used as an example.

a better idea, yes deposit at the start of the month(or anytime of the month) and if your willing to buy at any price like suggested by the DCA's.. dont. instead be ok to look at the charts to see if that day is a high for the week/month and wait out for a dip/correction and then buy.
Easier said than done, especially for someone who is not good at trading or doesn't want to spend time looking at charts and timing the market. I tried that in the past but since I suck at trading I rather opted for DCA. Experienced trader could surely end up with more BTC but I honestly don't care whether I am buying BTC at 40k or 43k since I am not buying it with the intention to sell anytime soon.
