The draw for the semi-finals of the DFB Cup was made today. Hamburger SV (2. Bundesliga) will play at home against Freiburg. Union Berlin must travel to Leipzig. The matches will take place on 19 and 20 April.
If you look at the table of the 1. Bundesliga, you can see that 5th, 6th and 7th place are in the semi-finals. Somehow strange.
Theoretically Freiburg - Leipzig in the final game if these matches are played these days. In April we might see some changes in performance, injuries... But as you mentioned, in this cup it isn't necessary to see top teams owning the others but rather which one is concentrated more in the games and planning to go to the end. |

United are not in their best form currently. Ragnick needs to sign new players inother to build the team. The team needs some tactical changes. Top players are not always available when needed. Check out the match against city today, fans where hoping to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Cavani in United line-up, but what happened, they didn't show up.Rather youngster was use like Elanga , who is still struggling to fit-in the big boys game. Players should be available when called upon and they should be able to play what is expected of them.
Dunno if Ragnick will be able to do something with ManU for a long time since it appears that he will not stay more than the last game of the season at best tho. ManU has decent players but where are they physically and psychologically when the team needs them? I was quite monitoring the odds before this match and I was very worried with stats. With Inter great win this time, discouraged its rivals. However inter will probably continue for the time being in first place, except in the next game the club drop points which might boost Napoli or Milan. Can't decide yet because the Napoli match still has 2 days left from now, by the way Salernitana is a weak club so 5-0 is the usual score for a club like Inter  . Ouep indeed. Inter would absolutely destroy Salernitana in Giuseppe Meazza. I have zero doubt about it as they really need this victory right now. And they are most probably the new leader too. Because I don't believe that Napoli can beat Milan at this weekend. Milan defeated Inter not much time ago and they would aim the same thing in this match too. Even if they fail about it, this match would still end up with a draw and we would see a draw with goals also. Both of them wouldn't have any problem on scoring in this match.
I think no need to focus a lot on this game when you find out odds more than 14 for Salernitana to win Let's focus more whether Inter will get back the first spot after Napoli - Milan game. Manchester City will be in search of a nice victory against Manchester United on the coming match week. This is a derby match maybe but Manchester United don't seem to be good enough to bring a huge fight to Manchester City now. And this can make Manchester City's job much easier to be honest. Some people said that Tottenham shocked Manchester City in Etihad. Yeah, I know about it too but I don't expect the same thing to repeat itself here again as long as Manchester United have a passive performance. They are an attacking team but I'm sure that they won't be able to play the way they'd like against Manchester City.

Real Sociedad's consecutive win it was. David Silva and Mikel Marino have really played fantastic with a goal each. Yes this lead the team win the match. Real Sociedad is firmly holding its 6th place with 12 wins out of 26 matches. Villareal has been far better with their performance with 4 matches won out of recent 5 matches. Villareal and Barcelona are best teams out of top 7 teams in the table.
Since the fight for the first two positions is almost fixed. Assuming Barcelona will continue its good performance then the 4th place for CL, EL and conference league's spots will be the target of several good teams from Betis to Villarreal. It is unfortunate to see ATM struggling like that BTW.. Next games will be between Real Madrid - Sociedad and Betis - ATM. French Cup final will be between Nice and Nantes, interesting, although I don't know how Nantes was able to made it this far! It is curious also to see them in front of Lille in the table when they survived relegation in the previous season.
This round PSG will face Nice with a very unbalanced odds imo. PSG one is correct tho @1.8 but Nice @4.1...they aren't that bad although last month wasn't their best but I believe they could be competitive for PSG.

Leipzig looks like the undisputed favorite and I think such favorable odds for its victory are explained only by the status of the tournament - often in these tournaments it is not the stronger team that wins (Bayern or Dortmund should be here haha) but those who are more motivated. In fact, national cups have long become a kind of tournament for weak teams and for middle-class teams with ambitions which want to get at least some kind of trophy.
Leipzig is the best among these teams and considering it will try to achieve something this season then winning DFB-Pokal will be their main objective.
