How a  I screwed if people are panic-selling assets into my hands?

I appreciate the balls' hardness, but I've been there and done that (bought many BTC at 20$ after the peak/hack and gone down with the ship). This time I am tempted to jump in a lifeboat a.s.a.p.

I hope really they clear the orderbook before going online again. I would hate it to buy right into a panic.
3582  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: MPEx registration fee bumped to 30 BTC. on: October 04, 2012, 06:53:52 PM
This site is operated by a guy in ROMANIA. If you know anything about this country, you would stay the hell away.

Seriously, anyone that pays this fee is retarded.

Hey nothing against Romania its a poor but really nice country with nice people.

As for the rest you said, I completely agree.
3583  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Near Death Experiences on: October 04, 2012, 06:50:37 PM
I want a community focus on this common phenomenon.

What do you feel is the explanation of many people claiming experiences of floating above their bodies, surrounding areas and phenomenon, and hearing it as well; while being clinically dead? What's the explanation for the common tunnel of light effect that's experienced shortly after an out-of-body experience?

Some say it's the dying brain waves producing hallucinations but why would the hallucinations be so common and consistent?

It's very easy to train yourself to experience the same sort of thing. Lucid dreaming or astral projection.
I've done it for many years - lucid dreaming (being conscious within the dream) is very easy. Just wake up at 4 in the morning - stay up for an hour, wander around, have a smoke or a cup of tea and then go back to bed, and then as you drift off to sleep remind yourself to remain conscious as you dream (try to look out at the blackness beyond your closed eyelids, as if it were a black empty space, as you fall asleep again).
It works about 70% of the time (there is real research that produced the same results) - once you are conscious within the dream you will feel like you are about to wake up every few minutes - so you need to look at your hands within the dream to stay in the lucid state (not sure why it works but it does).
Astral projection requires the same state, but you actively attempt to move you bodily perception into an imagined body floating outside of your actual body. It takes a lot of effort and practice to achieve this. But ultimately if you do it, you realize that you are just dreaming with a modicum of consciousness. The experience is real, but it is also as forgettable as a dream.
I suspect the people who experience this out of body state are just dreaming in the same way. My experience of this state suggests that it is not actually real - it's just a form of dreaming with some consciousness still present.

I don't belief in things like astral projections, there is absolutely no evidence backing this. Most people where probably just hallucinating.

As for lucid dreaming, that really works and is so awesome. Most people remember from their childhood that they where dreaming and somehow know they where dreaming and that just what it is. You can really train it, for me I'm not good at it and only got it working a couple of times.

Lack of explanation implies lawyers got involved. Wait and see what happens.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Saturday should be an interesting day.

Agreed. If it was migrating servers or something like it, he would have put it on there and would even have announced it before hand. The fact that he doesnt means he doesnt want to talk about the real reason yet. A SEC or criminal investigation seems like a good bet, and also matches with the fact Nefario hasnt been communicating for quite some time now.

Anyone have an idea how much money we are talking about here? The combined asset value?

If you just sum the market cap cap of the different assets >100.000 BTC.

Unfortunately, in my experience, you're right. Whenever something or someone goes 100% quiet it means they're involved with lawyers/lawsuits/courts/etc

Haha, Goat is suing Nefario. (Just kidding)

I apologize for the lack of notice and the downtime, but there isn't much choice. We will update our users on Saturday.

Hmm, reasonable expanaition: Problem with the hoster that required immediate hoster change.
3588  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Thoughts on Pyramining? on: October 04, 2012, 03:41:45 PM
Pyramid Scheme anyone?

It doesn't get much more obvious than that.
Think of it as more of pyramid, referral system, so if I refer you, I get a percent, and the person that referred me get a percent and all the way back to the top. Hence the pyramining
Ya, that's his point: sounds exactly like a pyramid scheme.

But how is it a pyramid scheme, if they are bringing in external funds, from mining?

Its kind of a pyramid scheme.  You get 15% of the hashing power of everyone that joint pyraming to your reveal (until yor account is completed of course) and 7.5% of everyone joined trough someone below you and even 7.5% of the 3rd level. So 30% of this project is a pyramid scheme.

Please stop using ponzi word if you dont know what it means. And really, people are just staring to convinced that nefiro is a scam after all, what if one day it locks out all our fund.

After all, stop panic (for a moment). but he should have told us this like 1 or 2 weeks ago with those fancy popups alert. (What i am worried of is it being hacked now)

^^ This.  We should probably not speculate to much on what is going on because it will only hurt the image of investing in the btc IMHO.  There could be a perfectly reasonable answer for this such as being hacked (not that being hacked is good but at least that isn't as bad as the operator running away with our btc).  So I suggest we restrain ourselves for right now.

Yes, of course. I don't panic and IMO nobody should.

What already pisses me of is that they are going offline with no statement.

2 days. Well, lets start the FUD.

morgen abend werde ich auszahlen was mir möglich ist also was ich besitze.

3591  Economy / Securities / Re: GLBSE is offline We will update our users on Saturday. on: October 04, 2012, 03:26:21 PM
WTF. No statement, just going offline.

And another time they show their lack of professionalism.
3592  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Near Death Experiences on: October 04, 2012, 12:31:26 PM
Near death experience. Only one way to find out.  Undecided

Who volunteers?

And why is this in Politics & Society? Atlas by the huge amount of threads you create you should now that 99.9% of them belong into off-topic.

If you are not sure you are always save by just posting them there.
3593  Economy / Economics / Re: Where is Bitcoin in the Technology adoption lifecycle? on: October 02, 2012, 12:06:48 PM
Bitcoin is currently still in a very early stage.

I only found out of it by accident and haven't heard from it since, unless actively searching for it.

Also, not a single person I mentioned it to has ever heard from it.

As I see it very interesting time are before us as it seems like bitcoin has reached its market cap of geeks and people exited about new concepts. I would count people who are joining now as the first of the early adopters.

We are probably just existing the Innovation stage and entering the early adopters stage. Time will get exciting as ether bitcoin will climb the step to the next level or will remain at it's current level and slowly loose importance.

All my personal opinion of course. And at least I hope that this is the stage we are currently at, because with the current scamming everywhere, if we would already be in a adoption stage, I would see black for the future of BTC.
3594  Economy / Securities / Re: TYGRR.* assets on GLBSE delisted. on: October 02, 2012, 08:51:45 AM
Nefario,

do you really want to go with this to the bitter end?
This has already caused more damage than the original dispute between you and Goat was about.

Are you really willing to risk your entire reputation and all the work you have already put into GLBSE upon this?

Despite that, there is nothing wrong with admitting that you have reacted without thinking this through. Its more shameful to stay on you point despite all resistance and that a majority disagrees with your course.

Also, there is a lesson to be learned here:

GLBSE needs to but a rule in place, when and why assets can be delisted, as well as an sound delisting process, if it doesn't want this to happen again.

This whole thing lets your entire business look very unprofessional.
3595  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Mybitcointrade.com | High Interest 2.5%-5%/w | 20% on Bonds| AAA- |Since 07/2011 on: October 02, 2012, 08:38:29 AM
Logging in to that "backup" is a potential bitcoin suicide...

Why?
Because you'd be giving your password to a withdrawal gateway to an unknown entity.

Then just don't log in.

The important thing it. Not matter what will come from MBT all Data is saved and available.

Including:

account balance of every single user
Saving book balance of every user
Stock of every user, including all buys and buy prices and sells and sell prices

and so on.

Most important is IMO the account balance --> unvisited funds that where just kept on the site.

And second the saving book balance, because of the statement that this funds where 100% captured by available capital.
3596  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Mybitcointrade.com | High Interest 2.5%-5%/w | 20% on Bonds| AAA- |Since 07/2011 on: October 01, 2012, 10:09:53 PM
The old Hoster of mybitcointrade got a backup of the site running:

http://mbt.lktechnik.ch/

Please note, this site is solely for the purpose of preservation of evidence and not the actual Mybitcointrade. The old hoster got this backup online to enable everyone to get an overview over his funds in this site and to save it as evidence against the actual owner, so please hold back from scam accusation against him.

I endurance everyone who had invested in this site to save a copy of his investments in case it might be needed later.
3597  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lets pretend for a minute that major BTC companies are scams. on: October 01, 2012, 09:37:16 PM
If that would happen I would constantly shift every 5 minutes between a strong feeling of anger and rage to a feeling of deep depression.

So it would be just the same as everyday when I drive to work.

...

No really, I don't want to spread FUD, but I know why I currently hold my funds and don't invest in new mining equipment. Don't think its all a scam but the next month a to uncertain to make any moments in that direction. At least for me.

And why should any exchange hold face BTC. Unless they already spend their customers BTC elsewhere.
All BTC that are displayed had to be deposit somehow.

@LKT super Arbeit, vielen dank.

3599  Other / Off-topic / Re: Give Bitcoins to Homeless Jackie! on: October 01, 2012, 04:24:03 PM
Wait, what? Why has she now got a scammer tag?

The donation address is the same as shown in her blog. So it's she. And I don't understand what accepting BTC donations has to do with scamming.

Also it wasn't her who opened this thread.

So why the scammer tag?

Another post just went up for you poor smokers out there.

I read it, that's just disgusting. Already smoked cigarettes taste like ass (I know because I did exactly this, too when I was a smoker, but only my own cigarette buts, stupid addiction).
