3581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Home Court advantage = Not an advantage now because of no-live audience? on: June 17, 2020, 12:22:28 PM
Crowds or audiences really make a difference sometimes, without it, you can't feel the excitement and pressure. But still, I guess there is a little advantage if you are being used to the court where you practice. This audience screams, cheers, or what, it won't work in some teams or players, they are trained physically and emotionally.

Yeah the feeling of having too many people supporting you is always been a best thing home court advantage brings us but now that it is not allowed i'm sure there will always be changes in the players performances.
Hope that this will come back soon and the momentum will always push towards the owner of the court.

Let's get real here, we will not see a home court advantage soon as vaccine is not expected this year and that's the only solution for people to go out without a fear, right now, the government through their designated agencies are watching the sports events and they will ensure that they are complying with the protocol especially on the no crowd policy, so we are going to witness more games with no home court advantage.
3582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 17, 2020, 10:57:00 AM

I agree with you both @harizen @bisdak40.

Imports salary uses the highest percentage entire salary cap of any team, how much more for 3-4 imports. And 12 teams with 3-4 imports, a total of 36-48 imports + Fil-Am players, it's not local basketball league anymore and instead of utilizing the local players, imports will be mostly used since teams are paying for their time.

PBA is good on the current setup, 1 import per team on 2 conferences.

That's why Tab was penalized as his comment was way out of the picture.
A careless comment that he can't back why it's necessary for the PBA to change from 1 import to 3 imports per team, that's just plain stupid for me.
Anyway, I still believe on coach Tab's capability on handling a team but I hope he'll hire a communication assistant if he can't control his mouth.  Grin

He was already sanctioned, I think it's better if we will not make this a big issue, somehow, although he made a bad comment but his contribution to the Philippine basketball is huge since we had success when he coach the Gilas Pilipinas during the FIBA Asia and FIBA world cup way back.

I'm sorry to inform you sir that I've married an altcoins, I'm a bag holder now and I have to be honest, it seems like I'm losing my love to them.
The early months of our married, I usually look at my altcoins bag and I'm inspired looking at it as the market is still bullish, but now, I don't look at them anymore.
3584  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: NEW MEMORANDUM OF BIR CIRCULAR NO. 60-2020 on: June 17, 2020, 10:06:44 AM
I doubt kung kayang i monitor ng BIR ang lahat ng online sellers, majority of the online sellers are just small time sellers, so I guess it's not necessary for them to comply with the BIR which is registering themselves to get an OR to issue for the customers.
This is one of the comment I found on one of the article in regards to online selling:

Quote
Guballa admitted that the BIR found it difficult to collect taxes from the said industry despite the existing tax regulations for online business transactions.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.manilatimes.net/2019/10/04/business/business-top/bir-to-close-tax-leakage-from-online-sellers/626392/amp/

It will really be hard for them lalo na kung hindi rin naman mag comply itong mga online sellers na ito. The other memo was issued dated 2013 but until now the issue isn't yet solved I don't know if ever mayroon na silang system na kayang mag track ng mga online transactions but I still doubt the possibility of it as well.

I knew it, as I mentioned in my post, a seller can use their alias, so BIR wouldn't really know the identity of the person selling.
As I have experience being an online buyer, I don't buy in one supplier only, and I just do a small purchase, I'm talking online selling in facebook.

maybe what they can trace are sellers in popular online platforms like Lazada and Shoppee as these platforms can implement a KYC to monitor the transaction of the sellers and when these information are forward to the government, they would know which sellers have big volume of transactions that they can enforce tax collection if it's not complying with the law.

This is just a memorandum but the implementation would not be soft since online sellers can even use a fake name, they just build their reputation then they will have a lot of customers especially if all transactions are COP or COD.
3586  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitcoin to Gcash/Paypal/Local Banks vice versa on: June 15, 2020, 10:56:05 PM
Might as well put a telegram or facebook account for easy communication, and if you have a fixed exchange rate, would you mind putting it in the OP?

Just a suggestion.

3588  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: June 12, 2020, 01:47:08 PM
This government is annoying, everyone just wants to pay taxes. Think about it, as well as street vendors who only have small incomes are willing to tax. Recently, it has been reported that online sellers are registering their business. Lacking it, even breathing is paying off. This is just the way other people earn money to earn a living on a daily basis. The capital here is not large, it is also used to generate extra income because others are unemployed or dependent on work from home. Maybe it's too close to our country to have a tax on crypto use.
Eventually everything will be tax, it's just a matter of prioritization, if a certain industry grow, the government will surely sees it and the time will come that they will impose taxes on it, maybe online selling has been increasing in transactions that's why the government wants to benefit on it.

Crypto is a big market too, so they will tax us, in fact a lot of exchanges are already regulated in our country, that means we users of the site will have to remit taxes if there's due. No clear regulation first, but eventually the government will come up with a more detailed in the long run.
3589  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you need a community marketing manager for your project? on: June 12, 2020, 01:24:12 PM
A friendly advise, maybe you can answer the scam accusation first because no legit project would hire you when they see your negative feedback and the flag against you. Though it's good that you haven't throw your account and just create a new one, but like the poster above save, the negative trust is a hindrance.
3590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 12, 2020, 01:20:08 PM
That's a good news especially for the gamblers who are regular in going into a casino, but for me, I have to be honest, I can't concentrate or have fun when I know I'm at risk of getting infected in a close building, and wearing face mask makes me uncomfortable.

I saw this from a social media post from one of my friend who works in Casino Filipino.  The tentative date casinos will open will be on June 16, depending if GCQ will be lifted or not. I'll update this post once I receive more updates.

So, here are the guidelines released by Casino Filipino for those who will enter the casino.

3591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't we literally send Bitcoin to the moon? on: June 12, 2020, 12:56:08 PM
How about we send bitcoin to the moon and land there?

The thing is, bitcoin is so unpredictable and the pump and dump happen so even if we say it will reach to the moon, it's expected to go back to the earth and worst thing is it will cause a massive destruction on the price of crypto like what we experience last post bull run.

I would prefer to see bitcoin slowly moving to the moon than a sudden pump which is only cause by manipulation.
3592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Reasons Why I Prefer a Bitcoin Mobile Wallet on: June 12, 2020, 12:44:39 PM
There are advantage and there are disadvantage as well, if you want good security, then go for hard wallet, but for convenience, go with the mobile wallet.
Actually I am using both, but for my long term investment, I made sure it's already stored in a hard wallet and put in somewhere safe.
3593  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Crisis Will Come on: June 12, 2020, 10:01:42 AM
Yes, it is happening now in the world. Since March 2020 when the Corona virus attaked us. Because of that virus many business all over the world is suffering from financial crisis.Thats why we need to find some alternative ways on how to find money even if there is still no stable job for us or try to plant some veggies on your garden to eat.
Individually we should, however, in general, we can expect that there's going to be a financial crisis that will happen in the long run if we haven't felt it yet now. The economy has been hit by covid-19, though not directly but it was the main reason why businesses stop operation since people has to go on quarantine to avoid getting infected, in fact, this is the worst year I've experience in my life, so I'm hoping it will end soon, and at the same time I also hope that my crypto holding is going to be a good security for my future.
3594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 12, 2020, 09:39:32 AM

The fate of Calvin is fully controlled by the commissioner but what are the safeguards in place so that the commissioner won't abuse that power? PBA player's union?

The only thing that would benefit if he will abuse his power on Abueva is their opponent as the Phoenix is a weak team without him, but I don't want to think of that kind of possibility as even with Abueva on the Phoenix playing, the top contenders are still the SMB team.

I think nothing is personal here, I believe he just need to comply what has not complied yet, period.
Not gonna make an speculation or any, I'll accept the decision of the commissioner, period.  Smiley
3595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: June 12, 2020, 09:07:58 AM
Good news is that Fury is now super motivated for next fight with Deontey Wilder.
This is because if he wins on July 18th he booked 2 fights in UK against Anthony Joshua in year 2021.
Honestly I can't wait to see Fury vs Wilder and I expect to see KO and clear win for Fury,
if all goes well and if is healthy that is.

But to make it clear, he has to win his fight with Wilder first to really make the biggest fight in UK history next year. So what he needs right now is to focus on Wilder beat him the same or even worst than the second and then set his sight for even more money with the Joshua fight.

Ego vs money is on the mind right now of Wilder, but there's so much pride that I doubt that he will take that step aside money.

He will certainly fight with Fury and that's going to happen this year for sure.
The Fury vs AJ would not happen if Fury can't beat Wilder in the 3rd fight and although he already beat Wilder once, I am not expecting an easy fight for him in the 3rd fight. I don't know but I just have a feeling that the 3rd fight will be a more interesting fight that would not result to an easy win by Fury if he ever win the fight.
3596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ]: Boxing - Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on: June 11, 2020, 10:15:20 PM
22 votes in the poll so far

19 vote for Joshua
3 votes for Pulev

If the fight goes ahead, it looks like the majority here simply go for a Joshua win.

That's expected, but I would go for Pulev as I am one of those who votes for Pulev.
Joshua is good but he has some kind of vulnerability, and I I've seen that in the past, so I am hoping that he will lose again, lol..

+600 for Pulev , I'm willing to put a small amount that I won't bother me if I lose.

https://www.oddschecker.com/us/boxing-mma/boxing/anthony-joshua-v-kubrat-pulev

He's got a puncher's chance, that's for sure. But I don't think those odds are attractive to me.

I think Pulev has around a 1 in 20 chance to win, he's far too old and has fought relatively weak opposition compared to AJ.

AJ has beat everybody he's ever faced (including Ruiz). There's literally nothing that Pulev does better than AJ.

I knew it, that's why he is the favorite here, I mean the heavy favorite but I like the betting odds of Pulev though he has lesser chances.
Not going to go with the public as personally, I don't like AJ as a boxer.

They better finish beat their respective opponent if we want to see this fight to be more interesting.

Personally, going against AJ here.
3597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 11, 2020, 10:07:29 PM
then it would be fine with me as long as there will be strict restrictions that will be implemented all the time.

That's the answer, we can't stop our economy because there's a virus, we will all die if instead of facing it, we will just hide as we are all afraid.
Government are doing their best to balance the safety of the people and the economy, the only support we can give is just to be socially responsible.
3598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Home Court advantage = Not an advantage now because of no-live audience? on: June 11, 2020, 09:42:59 PM
If you come think of it, even if there is what we call a "home-court advantage", there is really no assurance that the home team will win, even if the statistics show they win most of the wins, there is still a small margin between the wins on a home court and wins outside of the home court.
Advantage does not mean that a home team will win, they will only have the advantage but the better team will win as they have bigger advantage in overall factor, now that there is no home court, then the more they will lose if they are not a good team.

This is only similar to international games where a game is played in the same venue or a venue that teams are not familiar with.

I still believe that the outcome of a match depends on how the players perform on the field, audience or no audience, the performance and the efficiency of the players would still be a key factor in winning a game or losing it.

As always, crowd is just an additional factor though.  Smiley

If this is for basketball or NBA, I think they will only play in one venue, so there's no home court advantage under that set up.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I understand on the article below is that games will be played at Walt Disney World, so there's no home court advantage.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29256449/everything-know-nba-22-team-restart-walt-disney-world

Yes, the NBA will be playing on one venue once resumed.

It can now be considered as no home-court advantage which I think I also mentioned on previous page.

We will see the setup once it resumed if this no home-court advantage can truly affect their performance. But knowing NBA players, with or without home-crowd they can still play at their best. Not really matters at all if they will play without their home-crowd.

I think with the new set up, bettors will not gonna doubt betting on their favorite team since there is no home court advantage anymore.
The odds might also be adjusted, making heavily favorite a slight favorite only, which makes it more interesting as both sides can get the best odds when betting.
