361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bit curious about VIDY coins. on: June 13, 2020, 07:48:19 AM
This is their ANN thread on the forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4513155.msg40635736#msg40635736
This is an open scam accusation topic against this project and they are yet to respond or resolve it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5188913.0
Link to the user's (Vidy) profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1935569
Link to their bounty thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4562571.0

After researching about this coin (project), I found out that they scammed bounty hunters during their bounty campaign on the forum and the hunters were not paid, you can go through the links above to confirm that, and they never responded to the scam accusation thread made against them. They have pumped well in the last 24hrs, but a coin with this type of shady behaviour in the past, I suspect this could be a planned pump and dump scheme.

i quite agree with your facts as shared in the links. but clearly stating a fact that bounty hunters were paid, though it may not be all of the hunters and maybe a few delayed to do the needful. i was actually paid via the bounty hunting campaign. though the oayment was little and i consider not profiting comapred to the effort inputed but then that is not to account for non payment.

363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: DIVIDEND TOKEN - Looking for Marketers & Ambassadors on: April 26, 2020, 01:34:26 AM
I do not see the. Possibility of people accepting local tokens most especially when the token is yet to hit the market and also when the token allocation is considered too much. The challenges are going to be much and also investors are sceptical about investing in projects this time around.
364  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Well Organized Scam Projects on: April 23, 2020, 01:20:15 AM
How can we safe ourselves from well organized scam projects? Some projects are so well crafted and in the end they scam people, to my own understand research doesn't help here at all, use case, whitepaper, team, every thing are so real and make sense, please give advice about this

its a step higher than just research, most times the affiliates of the projects should be considered and also the team should have a known face and a averifiable link to vet if truely he or she is involved in that project as scam is fast becoming a challenge in the industry and also a major force resisiting the futherance of the adoption of the technology in the globe. Blockchain technology was more assuring interms of investors funds years ago than it is now.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your loss at an acceptable level on: April 23, 2020, 01:15:13 AM
I have not seen a trader that do not lose sometimes, i may be new to the forum but been learning before now. it has nothing to do with sentiments but traders have to learn to accept trades the way it is, without attributing loss to any factors; as it leads to more rekts.

Always accept the market as it is without blaming any factors.
Always dyor too

it is always a thing of joy when your confidence in a thing comes from knowledge and not assumptions.  traders lose most trades, Yes but its also a part of the business but proper persona researchhelps minimise risk and also guides a trader on startegies to deploy in other to remain in the business but it doesn't always go the way traders plan always.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Making Cov-19 as excuses on: April 23, 2020, 01:08:17 AM
Do not be fooled, Cov-19 doesn't disturb new project from launching, few new projects are using Cov-19 to make excuse, good quality projects don't see any reason to hold because of the pandemic, any project that do this should be considered as Controlled by weak team

on the contrary, I believe there is a whol lot with the COVID-19 that connects to projects and its fundraising. There is financial crisis globally and investors are trying to consider the funds in their pockets are the only controllable resources they have and as such cannot dispose it as they cannot foretell the out come of the financial sectoor after the whole corona virus pandemic. and this i believe has a great effect on startups
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin And Altcoins Positioning To Resume Uptrend on: April 23, 2020, 01:02:28 AM
After a short term downside correction, bitcoin price found support above USD 6,750. Recently, BTC/USD consolidated in a range above USD 6,800 and it seems like the bulls are now preparing for an upward move towards the USD 7,050 and USD 7,200 resistance levels.
Similarly, there are positive signs emerging for most major altcoins, including ethereum, XRP, litecoin, bitcoin cash, BNB, EOS, TRX, ADA, and XLM. ETH/USD is up around 2% and it might test the USD 178 and USD 180 levels. XRP/USD is also showing bullish signs and it might make another attempt to surpass USD 0.190 and USD 0.192.

i see the crypto market has taken a new turn and also making bullish signs and all altcoins are also in bullish trends in anticipation of a bullish trend but if/when it will breakout of suport at 7200 anytime soon is what i can not say but i hope it does.

what kind of project is to setup. If it is a crypto currency related project, what stage is it at and who are the people involved. Most times its not just about managing projects and getiing paid but also vetting the people whose telegram you wan tto manage as this business is all about reputation as it is also a currency on its own.

Chinese DeFi platform dForce Foundation lost over 99% of its assets as a result of a hacker attack.
DeFi - Protocol DForce

The attack was carried out through owned by the project an open protocol of the market of short-term capital Lendf.Me. According to the expert, the scammers managed to steal about $ 25 million stored in the smart contract.

“Lendf.me confirmed the attack at 08:45 Beijing time on Sunday at block 9899681”, – writes the Chinese edition Chain News with reference to the representatives of the project.

According to DeFi Pulse, on April 17, the balance on dForce wallets was $ 25.38 million, but by April 19 it had fallen to $ 10,000. Whether all the money was withdrawn by the cybercriminals, or if some of the users managed to pick up the money, is unknown.

Recall that dForce was in 7th place by capitalization among the largest DeFi-projects. Against the background of the attack, the startup left the leaderboard.DeFi Pulse,

Commenting on the incident, CEO Mindao Yang emphasized that now all the efforts of the company’s employees are devoted to investigating the essence of the problem. On the dForce channel on Telegram, Mindao requested that no assets be sent to Lendf.Me.

Double attack
On April 18, Tokenlon DEX developers also reported an attack on the imBTC pool of the Uniswap protocol, the losses from which amounted to about $ 300,000. «Hacker used attack vector against ERC777 tokens on Uniswap. BTC Storage Not Affected», – they said.

The ERC777 format allows you to repeatedly access the smart contract to withdraw funds located in it, which simplifies the task of the hacker. According to Tokenlon, this algorithm was used in both attacks.

A similar method was used during the break-in on The DAO in 2016. Then hackers appropriated about $ 60 million in ETH. The DAO is a crowdfunding platform based on smart contracts and Ethereum technology.

i am forced to ask questons bothering around excahangers, because any hack carried out has to be in a way or the other coverted to fiat and then finally withdrawn through an exchange. Is there no way funds can be identified by investors to exchangers and then traced to the kyc details of those who either deposited or withdrew the funds. There are chances the funds can be sold in the black market but i blieve it iws way too much for the black market alone to consume the exchange of such funds

373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Managers and Shit projects on: March 09, 2020, 07:49:27 AM
It's no more news that many of us would have had some horrible experiences participating in some resources wasting projects. However, my opinion is that, do bounty managers just accept hook line and sinker to manage bounty campaigns for any project without taking some time to look at the prospects of such project?

I think there should be some experienced members of this forum apart from moderators (because moderators' works might be too enormous) that should be in charge of reviewing projects before bounty managers are allowed to create bounty and/or announcement threads for such projects.  If this can be done effectively, I think the advent of these unworthy projects can be mitigated.

To wrap it up, a bounty manager once told me when I called his attention to some unrealistic plans of the project he was managing, he said he is not concerned about the success of the project, once he gets his weekly payment from the team. I want to know if there are some levels of punishment for bounty managers that manage unworthy projects apart from negative trust?

This is a healthy point and i encourage for it to see the light of the day, some bounty hunters are seriously loosing interests in working for projects aand that has a negative impact on the more realistic projects. i have been in the space for 3 years now, the approach is entirely differrent compared to the 2016 and 2017 era.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bad Exchanges on: March 09, 2020, 07:46:48 AM
I'm just trying to do my part, I know many won't care and some don't even bother to read anymore, they are just here for bounties, here is for those who cares about reading and learning.

Stay away from the following exchanges, I have bad experience with them already and I can still see few people getting caught in same trap

1. Vindax
2. Systemkoin
3. P2PB2B
4. Latoken

Not just for fake volumes and watched trade but scams, lose of funds, swapping of withdrawal addresses, you name it, have a great day

These exchanges are reputble ones. before such a spite comes public i believe some magnitude of transaction must have transpired between you and a few of them, for clarity and proof of claims, can you please attach screenshots of the negligence and show us reason why they are incompetent. The rest can be history and advice well heeded.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Temtum to be the first crypto to be used as a national currency ! on: March 09, 2020, 07:39:43 AM
Meetings with the Angullia government and premier of Angullia is showing how temtum is the leader in being the chosen cryptocurrency architecture for a country’s aim to deploy their own digital currency !

https://twitter.com/wearetemtum/status/1235231478893727746

I think Angullia will enjoy first mover advantage in the business of cryptocurrency serving a s a national currency. it will help and encourage real speed interms of facilitating this that relates with both finance and projects that technology can process without stress as most patrotic tech companies will prefer to either fork the blockchain, that is if the national currency does not exist as a token on an already existing blockchain.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The current world market situation. on: March 09, 2020, 07:34:06 AM
If you don't understand the effect of Corona on the global economy ! In the last 8 -12hrs , the US Crude oil is down by 31% , UK oil by 32%,  BTC by 12% and more  and other trading pair are falling deep. Crude oil seems dead now because they can't export it. Traders and investors needs to be careful now. This might be an unprecedented global recession. Now is not the time for long term Investment in real estate because when it goes bad, all those investment will be sold for pennies. So please hold your cash and follow the news.

Someone will ask that the funds that are leaving crude and stocks, where is it going ? It's simply being rolled into Fiat because everyone is careful of Investing at this time.

The market is all RED. with major investors pulling out of the market and everyone holding back his cash not knowing what the fate of the global market holds. it has never been heard that a single virus as deadly as this affected the world in a very short time frame and the world is seriously bowing to this.  I earnestly wish the vaccine is produced to help stop this viral spread else it will threaten the human existence.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What exactly does a good project needs. on: March 09, 2020, 07:24:53 AM
Some devs are good with project, but lacks community, While Some dev lacks good project, but their community noise can drive price to heights beyond a good project with lack of community can attain.

And if you will agree with me many solid project have gone below radar because of that while many over hyped projects are being shilled endlessly.

An example is the dynamite  with several hypes and wins community vote almost everywhere, getting listed in several  exchange, yet, no product, nothing just a lame project.

The question is, would these undervalued, poor dev projects ever compensate investors in terms of returns on investment?
I hope to learn further more below.

Responding to your very last question. Every investor is always advised to do enough research before investing in a project, also note that all investors bears in the risk and profit of the businesses in which they commit their resources to. so they will not have refunds in cases where the investment goes south.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies as a Legal Tender on: March 09, 2020, 07:22:36 AM
https://dailyhodl.com/2020/03/06/french-court-issues-historic-bitcoin-btc-ruling-says-worlds-leading-cryptocurrency-is-a-fungible-intangible-asset-just-like-money/

The above article is about a French court ruling about Bitcoin loans qualifying as commercial loans and that makes it a legal tender just like fiat money.

In that same article, a counsel from a certain law firm also shared his opinion on the subject

“When we lend Bitcoin or when we borrow it, it is a consumer loan which obliges us to return the same quality and quantity, and therefore makes the borrower bear the risks or benefit from the fruits. This also applies to Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum or other cryptocurrencies.”

I was wondering about that last sentence. If the same case happens and they use BCH, ETH, and other cryptocurrencies for the loan, will the French government also rule that they are also legal tender?

That leads me into another question, if the government allows other cryptocurrencies as legal tender, should they limit them to two, five, or ten? We know there are already thousands of coins in existence and there will be more in the future. I am thinking that many coin developers will only abuse if governments will not limit the number of accepted cryptocurrencies.

I understand that there are different sides toa cube. So, let me look beyond the part of the cube you see and point out mine. The gave verdict affirming bitcoin as a legal tender that can be borrowed in a quantity and quality, my question is, what happens to the volatility effect on bitcoin and how it affects the price. so if one borrows  1 bitcoin at $10000 and there is a %50slash in price before repayment then he will have to pay 2 bitcoin?
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We apologize for the plagiarized white paper on: March 09, 2020, 07:15:28 AM
This is to inform member of this esteemed forum that we did not know about the plagiarized white paper but it was due to the freelancer that handle the job, please accept our sincere apology.

The fact that the whitepaper was contratced to be written by a freelancer does not validate the fact that you did not deem it fit to run a plagiarism test on the job when completed. You should have quality control experts work eith you to over such cases as they are always percieved to turn out htis way in the event of contracting agencies with less reputation or with nothing at stake. The fact that your whitepaper got plagiarised will not have a good record on your project when presented before investors
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Did Binance just help Justin Sun take over the Steem network? on: March 09, 2020, 07:07:33 AM
If your cryptocoin is a proof of stake or delegated proof of stake coin, I reckon that you should withdraw them from the exchanges immediately. You do not want your favorite exchange to become your own tormentor hehe.

Also, the Steemit community's softfork to protect itself was acted hastily and got another softfork act that was also hastily given by the threat hehehehehe.

Have centralized exchanges used customer funds to help Tron CEO Justin Sun regain control over the Steem blockchain network?

That appears to be the case, according to crypto industry observers, Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, and the CEO of one of biggest exchanges on the planet, Binance—who confirmed his exchange’s involvement in a tweet.

Sun recently bought Steemit.com, essentially a decentralized Reddit that runs on the Steem blockchain. With the purchase, he also got access to a large amount of pre-mined Steem. But eight days ago, the community voted in favor of a soft-fork that would prevent Sun from accessing these tokens until he provided more detail about his plans for Steemit.

“So Justin reacts by getting more Steem from his friends to regain control over the platform he just purchased,” a developer who’s worked on apps on Steemit, Jason Stallings of BlockArcade, told Decrypt. “We're at the start of the Steem/Tron war of 2020,” he said.

“They tried to wrestle control from Justin and he outplayed them by utilizing his influence just the same as he will for the platform going forward,” Alexander Klein, a blockchain developer and Steemit contributor, told Decrypt.

Read in full https://decrypt.co/21108/did-binance-just-help-take-over-steem-network-justin-sun

i see no evil i what the steem witnesses have done by asking Justin what plans he had for steem, the soft-fork is just to render him powerless and less in control of their operations and that will make him unveil the plan he has for steem, but Justin's alliance with binance somehow, does go to prove that he has little or no future plans for steem and that is exactly what the witnesses were trying to avoid. No matter what the outcome is I believe the witnesses on Steem did what was necessary.
