I do not know if nobody noticed, but transactions in bitcoin cash are increasing considerably, it sounds fantastic!

It is increasingly common to see block of 1, 2 and even 4mb in bitcoin cash

I'm really excited to see it

https://cash.coin.dance/blocks

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/size-btc-bch.html#3m

No this is bad for example one of the later larger blocks

https://blockdozer.com/insight/block/000000000000000003e0c76b90c275d5ef5b09d0db58ff1144f43f35081f73ec

This is almost 3MB in size 3x the size of a block on BTC but only has 527 transactions in it every block on BTC has over 2000 transactions or 4x as many so for this 3MB block to compete with BTC it would need to be 12MB in size

The sat/b fee may be lower but the average transaction size is way bigger and this is really bad

See your chart here but instead of comparing blocksize compare the transactions per block

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/size-transactions-btc-bch.html#3m

The blocks may be bigger but the TX count which is what matters is only a fraction of the size this means the BCH blockchain will grow in size much faster than BTC while doing the same amount of transactions

At this rate you will be filling a 8MB block with ease but still doing less transactions than BTC  Wink

But what do you say hahaha, that is useless people

btc and bch share THE SAME SYSTEM OF BLOCKS, they fit the same amount of tx per block Mb, so Bch supports 8 times more transactions than btc, BASIC LOGIC. Segwit nobody uses it,

You're a disgusting troll, I have you more than signed

There is no incentive to batch or optimise transactions therefore most are being sent in highly inefficient ways bloating blocks to make them look like they are being used when infact they are just as empty as before

The development of BTC's fee market is music to Greg Maxwell's ears :-)
He's pulling out champagne to celebrate this huge success
https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2017-December/015455.html

Quote
I'm pulling out the champaign that market behaviour is
indeed producing activity levels that can pay for security without
inflation, and also producing fee paying backlogs needed to stabilize
consensus progress as the subsidy declines.

The network was always designed to need fees to survive once all the block rewards have gone fees will be all that's left and 99% will be gone in around 10 years with the further 1% over the next 100 years

No fees No Network as it says with low fees the only option is inflation so fork again to print more BCH to pay the miners

In the next 10 years block rewards will be 6.25 and 3.125. With increasing adoption, utility, tx amount, tx fees, and block size it would grow naturally with technology. It would lead to price increase making it all stable and profitable. That was the initial design, and not artificial limits and the crap like Segwit and LN.
We have both models on the market now, so it will be easy to compare over time.

It will be  1.5625 in around 10 years and BCH is around 2 months ahead of reaching this target

~2020 = 6.250
~2024 = 3.125
~2028 = 1.5625 (About 10 years)
10 cryptoyears are like 100 in real world

Maybe so but as the rewards dwindle down BTC is in a much stronger position to sustain a highly secure valuable network as every halving takes security from BCH potentially leaving it vulnerable to attack

Bitcoin is going down, I didn't sell at 0.2 btc now is 0.17 btc, what a pity. I hope the price will have a large rally soon. Do more trading in the future, to make more bch, it is the future.

Except in around 10 years when 99% of the rewards have been mined and the miners will need fees to secure the network and since BCH is so intent of sub cent fees the miners will get little reward  thus making a weak insecure network you may well need over 10 million transactions per block just to survive

On the next reward halving BCH will be running at half reward roughly 2 months before BTC gets there and with substantially less fees may leave it a bit too vulnerable

Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Tongue Cool

ok, so Bitcoin cash is bitcoin but not only is it cheaper and faster, its also going to have privacy ...wow
(if this is pulled of...will we need anon coins?)

What?! It's true or just dreams?
imo...
its a dream coming true...i still cant believe it, never did i think id see the day when bitcoin(BCH) became anon aswell...seems like a dream  Grin

I actually read the thread yesterday that you have put in your timeline. This is not theymos but the person who was complaining to them. They don't want the name bitcoin cash and you will get flagged for it. I don't see them complaining about bitcoin diamond or bitcoin gold

Only bitcoin cash because it is a direct competitor with bitcoin classic

Bitcoin Gold etc are not going around telling everyone that they are bitcoin

BTW I have some really nice Rolex's if your are interested only $50 brand new buy with BCH only counterfeit for counterfeit  Grin

Glad I purchased mine last week. Just wish I had purchased it before it hit 1k.

This is a definite Hodl

This is what Bitcoin was meant to be

Something that had a utility as a payment and not a store of value

If you are HODDLING then you are using BCH as a store of value and by the time you wan't to use it then bitcoin will have lightning fully implemented and running with almost 0 fees and if it is needed a block increase

How is the LN working on the testnet, BTW? Is it truly creating a decentralized network or do all of the minnows have a channel open to bigger hubs to ensure they aren't at a dead end? I gather they have people on the testnet with all sizes of testnet coins. Right? If everyone is distributed the same amount of coins, that would not be a good test since it does not mimic the BTC distribution of coins. Have they attempted to initiate attacks, yet, where someone tries to steal coins by submitting an older, more favorable tx? Has someone on the testnet been properly penalized?

So far from what ive tested it works great the channels get opened and closed automatic so if a valid route is available then it get's used otherwise a new route is opened.
No one has testnet coins but you can either request some from someone or just collect then from faucets there are plenty of places to get them

Attacks can only really be successful if your lightning wallet does not connect to the internet very often but in this day with smartphones LN wallets will be online pretty much constantly I use eclair wallet  on android

Hodl or BUY BCH NOW...
dont let btc/segwit coin dump distract you, that money is coming into BCH as your reading this  Cool

Code:
Transactions Per Block
Coin 3h 6h 12h 1d 7d
BTC 2617.92 2681.36 2564.59 2524.83 2348.59
BCH 426.38 392.74 365.90 272.47 209.80

Block Size
Coin 3h 6h 12h 1d 7d
BTC 1075.21 1065.68 1063.68 1061.12 1058.24
BCH 1126.79 1208.20 1302.86 903.08 668.83

The data above is taken from fork.lol

3h (Rounded off)
BTC Block Size 1.1MB/2618 Transactions
BCH Block Size 1.1MB/426 Transactions

6h (Rounded off)
BTC Block Size 1.1MB/2681 Transactions
BCH Block Size 1.2MB/393 Transactions

12h (Rounded off)
BTC Block Size 1.1MB/2565 Transactions
BCH Block Size 1.3MB/366 Transactions

1d (Rounded off)
BTC Block Size 1.1MB/2525 Transactions
BCH Block Size 0.9MB/272 Transactions

7d (Rounded off)
BTC Block Size 1.1MB/2349 Transactions
BCH Block Size 0.7MB/210 Transactions

Looking at the averages you can see that on average BCH blocks may have been larger than BTC lately but BTC is still doing many many more transactions

Proof that Bitcoin Cash might be added to Coinbase

They have api call for BCH: https://api.coinbase.com/v2/exchange-rates?currency=BCH

This will get you .json file which you can open with notepad type of software

If you try this for some other currency which is not in coinbase it isnt working!

Coinbase is carrying BCH from january this is very very old news
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: December 17, 2017, 06:53:07 PM
Sadly Bitcoin is broken.

It's basically unusable as a peer to peer platform which was the whole damn point.

I tried to transfer $600 of BTC and still unconfirmed.

BTC's utility is wrecked.

And how do you know BCH won't have similar issues once blocks get full ?

BTC is creating off chain solutions for tiny transactions that have no place on chain there will be a block increase eventually but right now it's about optimising the available space then increasing the required resources afterwards

How would you feel if say microsoft used this approach and didn't optimise windows for more efficient use of RAM/HDD space so your computer would require you to have a minimum of 512 GB RAM and 10 TB HDD just to start up with poor performance over just making it more efficient
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: December 17, 2017, 05:13:52 PM
BCH is undervalued a lot right now.
usual whale games, supress the gd coin, (shake out the weak at low prices)...pump a few other coins(lure in the weak at high prices)
then....BAM...other coins dump and all the profits go into buy cheap BCH  Grin Grin Grin Grin
it seems you are right. so the best way is just hold BCH for long.

Check out this block! 2MB, 1096 txs!!

That's nothing to boast about Bitcoin averages over 2000 transactions in a 1MB block so this block has to have been bloated by some huge transactions by 400%

Is bitpay active on BCH yet because they bloat transactions by huge amounts by putting information in the OP_RETURN probably to get around the transaction malleability bug that using segwit fixes

I have bought some BCC at 1k4$. Do you think BCC will hit to 2k4$?? or it will be backed to 300$ in the future??  Huh

The best way to answer that question is to research Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

And how is this any different to the bitcoin card I have already

Perhaps it does not cost $15 in miner's fees every time you use it.

Mine don't I have spend under 1 USD recently on it
