I made a short little video to describe the remaining members on the Hashtalk forum:

sry, maybe a lil out of context but has anyone at all ever got the wifi to work?
I believe John K was attempting it, but I never heard if he succeeded.  I would also like to know, out of professional curiosity, if this has ever worked in the wild.
363  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 12, 2015, 08:25:14 PM

Yeah yeah, you made me look, but you can't fool us all.  It would be neat to see it, but it ain't happened yet.
364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 10, 2015, 11:41:18 PM
Lets make things interesting by calculating an average of 3-4% diff jumps every 13 days @ .11 kw/hr.  Mined btc drops by 40% in 90 days.

those diff jumps will grind to a halt quickly though. unless the price pushes past $250 its unlikely difficulty will exceed 55B until the next generation of hardware is available.

once spring comes and things warm u, a lot of home miners have to sell or turn off gear to keep cool and save money when summer electricity rates begin

6 days ago my young son transferred 120+ xpy from Cryptsy to paybase never to get to his wallet

Hash   cce15689f4ec2fcdbff70403cd02fff5d7764132452968535354c0186da83c12
Block Height   58695 (5133 confirmations)
Block Date/Time   2015-02-05 21:42:06
Total Output   120.58451 XPY
Fees   0.004 XPY

so 6 days later he gets this answer

I apologize for the delayed response.I have gone ahead and escalated this ticket to the devs  to further assist you. Please bare in mind that this could take some time to look into.I will reply back to  this ticket once I receive any information from the devs.
Take some time it has took 6 days already and a blind man can find out from the blockchain where his coins are,but then again its Gaws devs we are talking about as much use as a blind man

Note that "bare" was used.  As in to uncover, be exposed, barren, nothing in the pot.  Not "bear" which would mean to hold.

I think customer service is trying to tell you something.

I think Josh maybe the only person left in the building, folks.

I ended up using Username.WorkerNamex%j to show the last two quads of the IP and it's working well, thanks.

I was hoping, however, to have some sort of "meaningful" information, additionally displayed at http://start.spondoolies-tech.com/

New amazing feature in 2.5.54
If you set in your pool user something like:
your0wallet0address0something_%%m...%%v...%%i
it will save it in cgminer.conf.template and then whenever cgminer starts dynamically creates cgminer.conf adress like this:
your0wallet0address0something_SP35...2.5.54...10.102.20.25
The nice thing is that now it is dynamic, so when you change IP or FW it will update the pool username. If you don't want username to change - don't use this feature. But be careful - if you have /etc/cgminer.conf.template on your machine DONT MANUALLY EDIT /etc/cgminer.conf, since it will be overwritten first time you run cgminer.
Thanks for this tip. I tried Username.Workername_%i and the worker failed to show up on ghash.io Sad
GH doesn't like underscores.  Try it without.

I ended up setting and using the hostname with the %h variable after playing with about all of them.  I had to go in and drop "human readable" hostnames on them, but it works well once configured.  Glad you got it sorted out.

For grins I did the same ping test. My ping times to westhash.com are around 3.6 ms!

I'm thinking that their server must be in the same data center that we use ;-)
Unquestionably.

Yay, another conference. This is quite good, I would like to see Mr.Garza speak at SXSW with the help of this visual "aide":

u all must not watch the hashrate of them for the first few days, they go down a good 1-3GH / day.
I have 4 SP20's...
All of them run under 100C
I do know for damn sure if we could custom tune the frequencies these run at they would be much more effecient!
The BIST is far too agressive, at the first sign of a HW error it declocks them like mad. Its ok to have a few HW error lol!
The firmware behaviour doesnt try to get the highest / stable clock at a given voltage unfortunately it seems.

if you use auto fan and don't unnecessary cap the power to loops, then machine will bump the highest temp to 115C at your max voltage and you will get more speed.
In addition, I find that sometimes it does go down a few GH in comparison with first hour, but then IT ALSO goes up if you wait for longer than 2-3 days, basically fluctuating in a long waves of +/-5 to 10GH or so.

this seems to be true for me.

most of my machines are 1050 to 1250 gh.

@GenTarkin  are your machines at 1350 or higher?

All 5 of mine drop a few Gh/s over several days. For example I have one that started at 1609 leveled out over several hours to 1603 and after 3/12 days is at 1592 and will probably stay around this mark until I restart. Not enough to see on graph but if you monitor Asic stats you will see it.

Mine do that as well, I should have been clear--I incorrectly assumed that we were talking about a more appreciable drop.  This behavior seems normal in my experience.  That said, we're talking about an insignificant loss in hash power; even double digit GH loss would still account for a 0.0x% percent change, no?
371  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: February 05, 2015, 04:31:51 PM

except no one will work with him. a quick google search of his name, he's fucked.

This statement = Win.

He'll never recover from this as a person. Search results do not forget.

You are overlooking that a lot of evidence of Josh being a scammer was already out there when he started this latest scam. The shallow end of the gene pool is rather deep and wide and this asshole has the formula down for suckering these idiots that have a few sheckles in the bank and zero common sense.

This.  There's a sucker born every minute (regardless of who coined the phrase, it rings true.)

I think that most of us probably have watched the hashrate of our machines.  I constantly monitor my devices and have never, over the course of ~5 firmware upgrades and four weeks, experienced anything like you mention.

Can you post some graphs, settings and logs for us to look through?
373  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: February 01, 2015, 05:34:11 AM
My .02 on the bots and price manipulators:  I have rented from nicehash from time to time for over 6 months now.  I set my price and never adjust it up.  The bots will set multiple orders for different prices and make their orders go dead once you get above their highest one.  I highly suspect it is the sellers doing this to raise the amount they earn.  If you wait and watch you will see their order go dead about every 10 minutes when they realize you are not going to increase yours.  Every time I have rented it has been filled within 24 hours and I never fell for their antics.

This is solid advice, cheers.

I do, as well. I'm just barely too old and did not have computer classes, in school, when I was a child.

My 2.6.9/4.8.0 machines all switched within a minute of each other, no problem.  They mined for approximately two+ hours before the price fell out again.  YMMV, I suppose.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storjcoin X (SJCX) - A Coin for Decentralized Cloud Storage on: January 29, 2015, 03:32:15 AM
Our team is thrilled to announce that Storj has been awarded as one of Black Duck’s Open Source Rookies of the Year!

We launched our beta test on December 20 of last year and expect to start scaling up during 2015.
There is a lot of attention towards our project, and we mean to live up to the expectations of our fans and supporters.
Secure, private, and decentralized cloud storage will be a hot topic in 2015, and we want Storj to be at the center of it.

We’d like to thank the community for their enthusiastic support, as well as the dedicated group of volunteers who help maintain the project.
We dedicate our Black Duck Open Source Rookies of the Year Award to each one of you.

Each year, Black Duck names ten new open source projects as their Rookies of the Year.
Previous awards include Ansible, Docker, Bootstrap, Tox, and many other great Open Source projects.
We’re honored to be acknowledged alongside such great ideas as well as the other rookies this year.
Congratulations, guys!  We're all looking forward to your effort, and look forward to what the Storj team rolls out this year.  Well done!

why are we not receiving payments today mine is now 7 hours late...anyone

When they bounce the servers it appears to reset the payment clock.  I've seen it do that a few times in the past after maintenance of the front end.

Cheers.

I haven't dug through this thread, but whats the best fan mod for the Sp20? if this lot on ebay sticks around for a while I might pull the trigger.

That lot on eBay has been there for a couple week at least--you're probably good to have time for a little research.  I've got a DC to stack them in, so I've not looked at noise.  For the unit on my workbench at home, I have the fan running @ 6 with underclocked voltage and it's still pretty serious sound.

Did you just refer to The Christian Science Monitor as mainstream news?

Not the OP, but I think CS Monitor is considered fairly mainstream. Despite the name, most of their stuff is secular in tone. From wikipedia "The paper has been known for avoiding sensationalism, producing a "distinctive brand of nonhysterical journalism"". They've even won a few Pulitzers. I don't read the site often, but I have read some actual good journalism there.

I have never even heard of it and regardless of if you think most of their stuff is secular they are named The CHRISTIAN Science Monitor. One does not just throw a religion into their company name without being heavily persuaded by it. At least I can see no logical reason why. Therefore they get no respect and no trust from me. With that said, I am not bad mouthing them or the article I am just being completely honest. As a strong atheist I would be a hypocrite if I did otherwise.

You're not wrong, just maybe off-topic. Let's not get all Jesus crazy up in this bitch. Tongue

Yeah, the Monitor is a secular paper--although the founder (in 1908) was a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist.  Either way, the paper has been around for more than a hundred years and should definitely could be considered "mainstream."

Our friends on HT have already decided that a century old paper is not up to their very high expectations of journalism, per normal.
