Pricing?....

Is Pay Pal going to be ready by Tuesday?
362  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: TerraHash Group Buy @ 0.50 BTC on: June 17, 2013, 12:01:17 AM
I'm not saying it can't work. 180 GHZ for 85 Bitcoins.

85/.5 =  170 shares

180/170 = 1.059 MHZ

But that's if you do what you say you will without a legal contract.
363  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 16, 2013, 09:16:41 PM
It looks like they might have to put some sort of limit on how much you can buy. We don't want some greedy dunce buying enough for 100 people and then scalping on ebay before next Tuesdays order. Sheesh.
364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 16, 2013, 08:51:05 PM
Nice one.

You know, I'm not opposed to people making money. I really have no problem with that.

But when you become no better than Butterfly Lab, and put pre-ordered, pre-manufactured, untested stuff on Ebay, that's when I have to call COMPLETE BULLSHIT !

Have a nice day. Oh, and don't even try the "It's not me" defense. It's not gonna work with me.

That ebay add was obviously posted by some sleaze bag that is going to order next Tuesday at 9:00. He is probably eligible for an early pre order. Sort of like scalping tickets at a rock concert. What a gold fever soap opera.  How much more pathetic situations will I witness in my lifetime?  Roll Eyes
365  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: TerraHash Group Buy @ 0.50 BTC on: June 16, 2013, 08:43:13 PM
Thanks a lot.  Grin But I think I would rather wait the 24 extra hours than to trust not only TH but you also. Especially when you are obviously trying to take advantage of Gold Fever suffering people. And usurping the reward  TH is giving to those that signed up for an account early.
366  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 16, 2013, 03:38:15 AM
I'm guessing the boards are soldered by hand? Possibly a machine is used?

It takes a certain technique to solder IC chips like Assics by hand. Sort of a swipe from left to right instead of soldering each pin individually.

60/40 Solder with tin and lead is what I always use. The flux is cleaned off the boards with alcohol and then sealed with Humiseal.

367  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 15, 2013, 07:10:54 PM
I have exactly 7BTC waiting for 64 board, and that news about usd payment are damn bad to me. I invested a lot (for me), and now, if they convert the price, I will have very hard time to buy anything... Please stick with the original plan. Many people are not prepared to changes.

I'm sure you can still buy them with Bitcoins as they stated. They are only adding other ways to pay like Pay Pal. And for those that are wondering the USD price multiply the Bitcoin price buy the average Price in USD per Bitcoin.

So if you buy 8 Bitcoins worth of equipment you will pay 8 times 115 =  $920. Unless Pay Pal is charging them extra fees.

I'm just concerned that it could be a complete fraud.
368  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 15, 2013, 01:10:45 AM
So even a complete newbie should be able to use/set these up effectively even with the board-only option?

Its hard to comment on the intelligence of a newbie, I guess if you can install a graphics card and get it mining then ur probably be ok.

I work on aerospace instruments for a living. You could hook it up yourself but you may run into a snag. If I buy from them,  I'll be ordering the plug and play instead of risking it. A little static electricity could damage a board. The parts you need might not be available etc etc etc.
369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 14, 2013, 11:59:11 PM
Why is the case just by itself cost $1200.00?

If you run it yourself you will have to research exactly how to connect the boards together. And then properly connect to a computer. It will cost a lot more (in time alone) to design something like that. I'm thinking of having them host the boards instead. The power supply and the fans. Sounds like a real hassle to me. Not some simple little case.

Since I haven't done any mining. I'm wondering how much trouble it will be to configure  to a mining pool? Get it running for the first time? My power company likes to gouge you if you use too much electricity instead of a linear charge per Kilowatt. In my situation it might be more practical to have them host the boards.
370  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Jalapeno hashing 5.9 GH/s @ 30 Watts...! on: June 09, 2013, 06:02:46 AM
In a little over 2 weeks it will pay for itself. And depending on how much a Bitcoin is worth in the future will determine if it will continue to be worth running.  At only 35 Watts you really can't lose.
371  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why everyone keeps selling their long waited ASICMINER USB? on: June 09, 2013, 05:40:20 AM
Their kind of neat but you would have to have 15 of them to equal just one 5 GHZ Butterfly Lab unit. Maybe you could buy them for way less than $250 direct from China. Otherwise, I would even feel better about ordering from (gulp) Butterfly Labs. You could buy four 5 GHZ units from Butter fly for the same cost. Then you'd have 20 GHZ if you ever received them.
372  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: BFL 5 GH/s ASIC miner on: June 05, 2013, 05:24:15 AM
Mine is doing roughly a 1/4 BTC per day.

That's more than I expected for one of those little things.

Knowing what you know now would you buy more from them? Or maybe move up to 50 GHZ/sec?
373  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: BFL 5 GH/s ASIC miner on: June 05, 2013, 02:40:46 AM
So far I haven't done any mining because it has a rip off gold rush feel to it.  Grin The rigs you can buy eat too much power and are now too slow. The rigs you want are unavailable but you can get in line for a pre order. If you want to take the chance.

I'm sure he will find someone on ebay to sell that BFL to.  I've seen em go for that type of money.   For that price I can buy almost 12 of them from BFL direct. Of course it will take 6 months to forever.  Roll Eyes

I wonder how many coins can be mined with it in one or 2 weeks?
374  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Trading on BTC-E on: June 03, 2013, 11:40:15 PM
I never used a Bank. I just zipped some BTC up there and traded for LTC. Then zipped them back to a wallet on my PC. I guess Torr is the way to go but I never have used it yet.
375  Bitcoin / Legal / Trading on BTC-E on: June 03, 2013, 11:10:24 PM
If I just trade one crypto for another, do I have to worry about taxes? or do I just worry when trading back to Fiat? I'm a US citizen if that helps.  Thanks in advance for all the expert advice. Grin
376  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitfloor on: May 29, 2013, 02:50:51 AM
If it truly is fraud I'd agree. Otherwise I'd prefer to get the money and not force prison on him. Some (a lot) of the fault does belong with Capitol One.

We don't know why Capital One closed the account. Likely Bitfloor wasn't aware of all the laws and regulations. The Bank was afraid of getting into serious trouble. Could be a legitimate reason.

Or the Bank might be maliciously  trying to damage Bitcoins reputation. Alex Jones says they will shut down Bitcoin by blocking the exchanges.

377  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitfloor on: May 29, 2013, 12:20:22 AM
Hi,

I am wondering what kind of business structure (sole proprietorship, LLC, INC. etc) Bitfloor is. I am curious about what legal recourse is available in the event that Bitfloor continues to unlawfully hold client's funds. They claim they are "working" on "finding a way" to return funds (put a check in the mail or pay me in bitcoins dammit).

I don't like lawsuits, but this is getting outrageous, and I am wondering 1) if a class action lawsuit against Bitfloor would be possible, and 2) if Roman himself could be sued. (If that were the case I'd be happy to settle for the amount of my money Bitfloor has seemingly stolen.).

Are there any other Bitfloor customers starting to suspect that Bitfloor is a fraud and will not return the money they owe?

I don't know what to think.

I new the guy claimed that his site had been hacked into before, so I was hesitant to send funds to his site. Nobody was having a problem lately on the site so I sent up a thousand $ to quickly buy some bit coin. I wanted to try something else besides rip off Block Chain Wallet. I could tell the guy was flaky but I intended to make a quick trade and move the bitcoins off the site right away.

On the Bitfloor site it says. 18 days ago.

2013.05.13

We have received the check and are working on a way to start returning funds. We do not yet have an ETA, but understand everyone is anxious to get their money back and we are trying to make that happen as quickly as possible.

So they claim they are waiting for an ETA.

I kind of think it is the Banks trying to create mass hysteria towards the Bitcoins so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

If worse comes to worse. I would think I could have him put in prison as I wired him money across state lines. He or the bank is holding my funds up. Their is no hacking excuse. If I don't get my money back I would rather have him spend years in prison rather than trying to get my money back through some silly lawsuit. Have the Government prosecute him. He'll probably claim he can't pay it back anyway if any lawsuit is won.

Trojan Horse on link.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin Win Nobel Prize? on: May 23, 2013, 01:13:36 AM
Yes. Bitcoin should get a Nobel Prize.

Exactly why it won't happen.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin Win Nobel Prize? on: May 23, 2013, 01:10:07 AM
It's nothing but a rubber stamp golden boy approval award. If someone receives the Nobel Prize you know they have sold their soul. "The Powers That Be" use the Nobel Prize to legitimize the agenda of the recipient.  To the gullible, misinformed, brainwashed, public.
