362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Genesis-mining.com || World's leading hosted Scrypt hashpower provider! on: June 23, 2014, 12:52:22 PM
Yeah, I already noticed on other clouds that you need 14/15Mhs to reach 1BTC per month now. A couple of weeks ago that was like 6 or 7 Mhs. It'll probably get worse the more useless copy coins pop up every day. At some point a lot of coins will start dying though, and by then it matters greatly which coins you already support and which not. I'm not familiar with the coin voting thing to add certain coins to Genesis-Mining, but I hope those coins are chosen on more then just current popularity or hype.
Well let me just say everyone worrying about all the copy coins and the number of them EVERYDAY keep in mind there are 1gh/s scrypt and scrypt N machines less then 4 months out YES 1 gh/s you all better be glad these "NEW COPY" coins are coming out ALL THE TIME. Because there won't not be much to mine if all this power was unleashed on just the mainstream coins. The more coins the more the hash can spread out, The more choices in investments the more investors. The more investors the more money that can get into your pocket. So rethink the negative opinions regarding all the altcoin/copys  Just say NO TO SCAM COINS LOL!!!
You really believe that the more coins there are, the more investors will come?! If a new investor might get interested in cryptocoins, he'll be confronted with thousands of different coins that all claim to be the next best thing while 99% isn't. Basically this means NO new investors, and if there is new money then it will go to coins that have proven themselves already. The new coins are mostly invested in by experienced whales for quick profit in the first weeks/months. Put in 25 BTC, slowly, to make people believe it's rising to the moon, make them want to buy. Let them buy your cheaply bought coins and pull out with 50 to a 100 BTC, depending on the craze and greed of the masses, and then stay out! One month work for at least 15K profit. More coins will come, rinse and repeat. It's the same investors, over and over, funded by the masses who then keep a coin alive long after it died. New investors? Barely. A bunch of people who can spare a few bucks, that's all. The more coins, the more dilution, and the less interesting for new investors, the less new money will pour in.

As for bigass miners, you really think people will use those for coin number 233414 or coin 42173?! They'll mine at big multi pools or (solo)mine the bigger and proven coins. Nobody is going to aim 500Mhs at Doodycoin or whatever coin is out there that nobody cares about. Result? Main stream coins will be harder to mine for most, and since investment gets more and more widespread, those mainstream coins will continue to drop in value and trust, taking all and every other coin down with them.

That's negative? Nope, that's probably reality.

I did the math before I bought, though quick math, and it didn't lookm that good but I figured it would be fine. CloudHashing's site just about promises a good return, so how bad can it be. Naive, yes. After I bought 420Ghs of hashrate, I switched on RRP, and in the weeks after I started doing the real math. Well, profitability is nowhere in sight! And RRP, to make it even more profitable, would in fact make it a lot worse, so I switched that off immediately before contract start, to minimize damage.

If I see the returns of jay, and some others earlier in this thread, I am utterly shocked. CH may not be running a scam, but sheezs, taking 80% of someone's investment while claiming they're a profitable deal is getting pretty damn close. I'm way better off, thankfully.

Anyway, nothing much that can be done, except that I figured I started posting my earnings here, hoping others would follow, and newcomers would think twice before purchasing losing contracts. So far so good, I think, and I won't stop until they come with sensible answers and solutions to their profitability failure.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Genesis-mining.com || World's leading hosted Scrypt hashpower provider! on: June 20, 2014, 02:01:02 PM
Will there be a price adjustment in the near future?

genesis-mining.com 2 MHs for 360$ = 180$ / 1MHs

zeusminer.com (blizzard in stock) 1,3MHs for 110$ = 84$ / 1MHs

So it seems you have more than double the price of asic manufacturer that has miners in stock. There will apply shipping costs and electricity, but anyway, it seems much cheaper to order a miner than to rent the hashing power.
Even if i calculate all true costs (shipping costs, eletricity, raspberry, VAT, usb hub and so on) it will be cheaper to get a miner at home if I just order 2 blizzards.

Do I have forgotten anything?
A website, a helpdesk, methods of checking for scammers, ease of mind, mining 24/7, room to mine with electricity and cooling, and probably a coffee machine, and so on. If you buy a car, will you complain to the dealer that a complete and ready to go car is more expensive then the components it's made of?! If you have everything you need to mine at home then buy hardware. If not, then you can either accept these prices or shop elsewhere.

The MEC promo code was mine. Guess I promoted it well enough if it made it's way onto cryptomining-blog.com. Though, yeah, by now that one is invalid Smiley
366  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: June 20, 2014, 01:45:47 PM
Genesis Mining takes a very open approach. Everything can be found somewhere. PBMining is about as closed as can be.

Difference, in my opinion, is the startup. Genesis Mining was set up by professionals and was to be a professional business from day -1.
PBMining was setup by an individual who wasn't 100% sure of his efforts, and maybe more importantly, not 100% sure of the public's... friendliness if things went wrong. You only have to open a random thread here on Bitcointalk to find examples of nutcases you wouldn't want on your doorstep.  I'm still hoping PBMining turns more professional one day, though to what end. They pay flawlessly every week (with or without other investors' coins). Having a name and an address attached to that means nothing much. Any business can go to pieces, and some will. I don't think I need to name examples.

By the way, the cryptomining-blog.com still mentions my old Genesis Mining discount code, MEC, which is no longer valid. There's a new one in my signature, or search around the forum for other discount codes.
367  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ♦♦ GIGAMiner.net - BTC mining contracts from 1.9$ per GH/s (Get 15% discount) ♦♦ on: June 20, 2014, 10:02:17 AM
Nothing clearly roi's anymore. Unless average difficulty increase goes below 12%. Which could happen. Difficulty is now so high that the difficulty jumps are slowly decreasing. Then again, manufacturers can make their miners more efficient which would cause bigger jumps, ectetera. Or until the Bitcoin developers finally realize that they HAVE to fix the failure of the decentralization principle.

In short, it's a gamble.

And to confirm: payment received, for both contracts Smiley

38 more for 48.... Sure, why not!  Cool

What are you mining? Just BTC? LTC? Mixed stuff?

Well, there's two projects coming, but it's taking a bit. One of the people involved is about to become a daddy, huffing and puffing along as we speak, I think, if not a daddy already. So... n Yeah, that sort of thing takes time also, so relax and use the time to buy Mec extremely cheap. Some people out there are selling their fortunes Cheesy
370  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: June 15, 2014, 01:04:58 PM
Update for month 4 of CloudHashing mining:

Starting date Feb 15 with 420Ghs
Month 01 : 1.4 : 1.4 BTC -> actual 1.58 : total 1.58 BTC - (10%fee) -0.16 BTC = actual payout 1.42
Month 02 : 0.7  0.7 BTC -> actual 1.22 : total 2.81 BTC - (10%fee) -0.28 BTC = actual payout 2.53
Month 03 : 0.4 : 0.7 BTC -> actual 0.75 : total 3.56 BTC - (10% fee) -0.36 BTC = actual payout 3.20
Month 04 : 0.2 : 0.4 BTC -> actual 0.56 : total 4.09 BTC - (10% fee) -0.41 BTC -  actual payout 3.68
Month 05 : 0.1 : 0.3 BTC
Month 06 : 0.05 : 0.2 BTC
Month 07 : 0.0125 : 0.1 BTC
Month 08 : 0.007 : 0.08 BTC
Month 09 : 0.004 : 0.05 BTC
Month 10 : 0.002 : 0.03 BTC
Month 11 : 0.001 : 0.02 BTC
Month 12 : 0.0005 : 0.01 BTC

Total expected, around 4,69
Total investment 5.2 BTC

As I said in previous times, average difficulty jump is not as much as expected, but fine, I'll leave the numbers there. I can't keep making the mess of strikethrough numbers bigger every time. The only number that matters is the payout number Cheesy

And I'll keep CloudHashing's mission in view since they ensure profitability:

Our mission is to ensure the mining profitability of our clients for years to come while the smaller miners become less competitive and less profitable.

Looks like my app updated it! (Manual pulldown request, it hasn't auto-updated yet). And no issue this time around =]

Yup, auto-update works also, balance nearly zero. All my balance are belong to my wallet. Thanks!

YAY for PAYDAY Smiley

0.03 is an ecxellent result. And no, you cant compete with manufacturers, which means you have to stick out somehow. Results like this help.

So, okay, hosted hardware then  Grin
But yes, you're right. Just getting tired of all the sillies comparing cloud mining to hardware mining, so forgive me for reading your message only halfway through.

Still, I like to spread my investments, so I'm not looking for the cheapest of the cheapest and toss all my coins in there. I'm perfectly fine with less profit and more security to balance the more risky investments.
376  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: * [FERMINING] * Cloud hosted scrypt mining contracts | 0.4BTC per MH! on: June 11, 2014, 09:16:24 AM
So.... hardware is cheaper then cloud mining?! Gosh, what a revelation. It's like going to the car dealer, point to a self driving car with fuel, insurance and a garage all-in, and complain that it's overpriced because it's more expensive then a car without all those extra's. I don't have a garage and I can't afford the fuel, so why exactly is it overpriced?
377  Local / Mining (Nederlands) / Re: cloud minning voor altcoins on: June 10, 2014, 07:02:21 PM

Dat de site down is zegt me niets.

378  Local / Mining (Nederlands) / Re: cloud minning voor altcoins on: June 10, 2014, 05:37:49 PM
