361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How was your first Bitcoin experience? on: August 26, 2023, 11:41:48 PM
I don't really remember the details of my first experience. It was something like that: In the early days I heard it and wanted to use it to buy something from outside of the country and that looked like the best choice to pay back then. I searched how to buy Bitcoin first to do the transaction and found a newly opened local exchange. In the end I bought Bitcoin but didn't buy the good originally I was about to buy.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 26, 2023, 04:41:48 PM
Havertz was awful. Starting with Trossard was a mistake. If Partey will be sent I don't know why Arteta still starting him. Substitutions were made positive impact. Nketiah, Vieira and Zinchenko should've started the game. Arsenal played better in second half but that late goal was unlucky. Arsenal had uncalculated 2 points loss today.
It's good to see Gabriel Jesus back in the pitch again. Arsenal need him so bad. I hope he'll be fully fit in a couple of games.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Testnet faucet on: August 26, 2023, 04:29:36 PM
Thank you for this valuable information. Honestly, I had not heard of this network before, and I am sure that many others did not, due to the absence of discussions about it. And after I checked this network, I saw that it is important not only for developers but also for beginners to learn the basics of using the main network Ethereum.

Goerli testnet will be shut down soon so Sepolia testnet is a go to place for ETH-based test networks.
Too many people are using testnets. Especially those who want to test new projects need test ETHs continuously. That's why testnet faucets dry very quickly. There is currently no problem in Sepolia. Fill your addresses with test coins while you can. It may be needed in the future.

The young lads of Arteta are going to face Fulham in some minutes time and I expect the Gunners to do better than they did last time against Palace which almost ended up in a draw.
I know by now they might have learnt a lesson or two to stay focus in the game.
Fulham would throw everything they have got at Arsenal on this encounter because Arsenal aren't the team most clubs are scared of, they score 1 goal and they feel relax like it's all over but if this Fulham side get a goal it would make the Gunners to be under pressure and one thing I come to know about Arsenal is that they don't know how to play under pressure, they do panic when it's not necessary.
I would really like to see Arteta getting a comfortable win with a free flow of football, who knows... Rice might get a goal today.

I really would love to see some more scoring actions for Arsenal but Trossard in the striker again? I don't think that works so well. Saka and Ĝdegaard may score. I hope Trossard surprises me and score today. I expect Arsenal to win the game and pass first three weeks without a loss. That would give them the luxury of losing points in the following weeks against harder opponents. They shouldn't lose points against mid level teams at Emirates.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to invest AI coins? on: August 25, 2023, 11:47:31 PM
That could be the new trend but I don't see bright future for the coins you mentioned.
FET never made the expected explosion. OCEAN is same. AGIX is one of the coins that I follow and it's going downhill since start. They all are in decline and I don't know how they will survive.
AI is an area worth investing in, but finding the right project is very difficult. I'm not sure if there is a coin in the crypto world that doesn't just use the name AI, but really does something worthwhile. There is no doubt that there is a big cake in this area. The problem is to find the right project and stay away from scams.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is exchange based tokens worth for hold? on: August 25, 2023, 11:32:12 PM
It depends on the exchange. We've all seen what FTX turned into from one of the most reputable exchanges to going awol. Even the best exchanges make mistakes and disappear for a variety of reasons. When that happens their coins turn into garbage. Currently Binance appears to be the largest exchange and BNB has really paid off for its early investors. CZ seems to be untouchable in the market, but we all know what will happen to Binance if something happens to him. Don't trust anything about centralized exchanges much.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 24, 2023, 01:37:20 AM
Arsenal is going good, 2 wins in first 2 games. They didn't concede a goal even though they completed the match without Tomiyasu. They are looking definitely as good as last year. However, they need to increase the variety in the attack. They should shoot more accurately. Names other than Nketiah and Saka should also score, especially midfielders should contribute to the score.
Manchester City looks very good this season as well. Arsenal need to do something to make a difference. They couldn't handle the pressure last season and made a lot of mistakes in the last weeks. I hope they have learned from those mistakes and won't repeat them this season.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption in Turkey Grows Stronger on: August 24, 2023, 12:38:52 AM
Turkey is one of the countries which are trying to keep neutrality in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. They are selling Bayraktar drones to Ukraine but at the same time not banning Russian tourists from visiting the country. I think they are forced to do it as their government desperately tries to keep the country's economy afloat. This fragile equilibrium can be broken any time and the country can fall into the abyss of economic crisis, therefore Turks are trying to avoid the lira and Bitcoin is one of the options.

Türkiye implements a balance policy in foreign relations. It's necessary to keep the relations with both neighbors in balance, because this is the best from both a business and a political point of view.
If we count the reasons for the bad course in the economy, this conflict cannot even enter the top five. There are deeper economic problems and little is being done to solve them. We are living in a period where Turkish people are looking for temporary solutions in crypto and stock market. Few people look at Bitcoin the way we do. Still, the more people see the real opportunities Bitcoin creates, the better.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that you trust most on: August 20, 2023, 09:29:32 PM
There are thousands of altcoins in crypto market and each of coin has investors! Cause people have different choice from one to another.  People even invest in shitcoin to get rich quickly. So what are the names of your most 5 invested altcoins that you are holding or would like to invest soon?? Those are my choice
1. ETH
2. BNB
3. Arbitrum
4. Cake
5. ApeCoin

It's hard for me to choose five altcoins to invest because I don't trust any of them much. I hold maybe more than 20 different altcoins but these cover only a very small part of my portfolio.
About your list, I wouldn't trust Cake and Apecoin much. Ethereum and BNB are solid projects and Arbitrum have a potential but I wouldn't think others as long term investment. You can play with them in short term though.
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption in Türkiye Grows Stronger on: August 20, 2023, 07:52:35 PM
I think the Türkiye is still allowing the markets or bazaars to accept Bitcoin payments. The grand Bazaar which is one of the oldest malls of Türkiye located in Istanbul city seems to be accepting Bitcoin payments as well as other crypto-currency payments from its customers.
I have also heard that the Turks (people who live in Türkiye,) are converting Lira to Bitcoin at that mall because they want to avoid banks and I think which is something everyone will do if they get chance like that. I'm not sure about the picture of the girl, but I think OP is correct.
I'm not sure about other malls but at the time The Grand Bazaar mall is accepting Bitcoin payments and soon there will be other malls which will be accepting the crypto-currency based payments.

No, it's illegal to use Bitcoin in selling goods and services. Any of the shop that say they accept crypto payments is breaking the law.
Bitcoin trades are not illegal. You can buy and sell crypto currencies in both online and physical exchanges.

On 16 April 2021, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey issued a regulation banning the use of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, directly or indirectly, to pay for goods and services.

She was in Turkey and saw how the shopping malls there accept Bitcoin payments and Bitcoin is growing rapidly there.

https://twitter.com/Eunicedwong/status/1692985505892225498

Bitcoin adoption is growing faster because Turkey is experiencing Hyperinflation of 57.7% and that is quite high.

Meanwhile, Turkish people are increasingly converting Lira into USD  or gold as the currency has lost 90% of its value since 2008.
According to Cryptopotato's report, Bitcoin and Tether have been the most popular trades against the Lira over the past three years

First, the official name is Türkiye, not Turkey. Second, shopping malls can't accept Bitcoin because it's forbidden by law since 2021.
The video looks like from Cyprus, not Türkiye. They are a different country so they have different law about crypto.

Inflation is the biggest problem in Türkiye currently. Obviously more people are interested in Bitcoin. Adoption rate is pretty good but government don't take right steps. They don't even realize how important this is, they miss a huge chance for the country.
372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: YOU ARE LUCKY TO BE IN THIS FORUM on: August 20, 2023, 03:37:03 PM
That's right. Without this forum, my perspective on Bitcoin would've been like an ordinary person on the street. I can say that my biggest advantage is to discover this place in the earliest period. When I look at the people around me, their perspective on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is very different than users of this forum.
There are many people who see Bitcoin only as a get-rich quick scheme or think like only gambling or the stock market. Not many people look at the technological side of things. If they had researched this, they would've adjusted their investment preferences according to that.

374  Other / Meta / Re: Request: New Local Board for Pakistan (Urdu) on: August 19, 2023, 06:21:19 AM
I agree that users from Pakistan should have their own local board. They are pretty active around the forum. Pakistan has a population of more than 230 million. There are a lot of people speaking Urdu around the world.
We have Indonesian and Nigerian local boards so why not have a Pakistani local board? Considering we have dead local boards like Hebrew, Korean and Skandinavisk, these people deserve their own board. I hope people in charge will consider this request soon.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 19, 2023, 04:03:21 AM
It's good to see Valencia back on top again. They started the season with two wins and when we look at the fixture we see it's very possible to make it to four. Last couple of years were pretty bad for them, I wish we see them in Top 4 again.
Pepelu is a gem. Great transfer from Levante for a fairly good price. They should find a couple more players to strengthen the squad though. Especially a good striker is needed urgently.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: August 17, 2023, 11:58:18 PM
As a bitcoin supporter, would you consider adding bitcoin to your retirement savings, or do you prefer the traditional 401(K) or IRA? If yes, to what degree? 100%, 75 %, 50%? Also, do you think that accepting bitcoin into your retirement savings account is a form of the DCA method?

I don't know about the traditional 401(K) or IRA but Bitcoin is naturally big part of my retirement saving. I guess the perception changes based on the location.
I'm surprised by some of the answers here. This is 2023, Bitcoin already prove itself. Anybody who didn't put Bitcoin to their savings plan already lost big opportunity but it's not too late. Open a cold wallet and start saving today. Whether it's $10 or 1k worth of BTC, it will add up in the long run.

They require some coins in the address because there are too many attacks on these faucets. I used to use these ones, I don't know if they are still giving away to zero balance addresses.

There aren't many jobs that you can get paid with Bitcoin. If you find one, that's great. Don't worry if you don't find one though, you can always convert your fiat money income to Bitcoin from exchanges.
There is no guaranteed return in any type of investment. Bitcoin price went up after every halving but that doesn't mean it will go up in the future. That's just a prediction coming from past experiences, nobody guarantee it.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 13, 2023, 09:29:13 PM
Amazing result from entebah so far, with many exact correct results!  Shocked
I joined LaLiga Sportsbet competition and it turned out to be round with many unexpected results for me.
Sevilla losing from Valencia at home, Real Sociedad could not beat Girona, and Villareal losing from Betis in last moments of the match today.
Barcelona is struggling against Getafe and both teams have red cards, so anything is possible in this match.

I don't follow prediction pools but Valencia win over Sevilla was expected. This Barca game to finish with less goals is also expected result. Villarreal lost to Real Betis in last minute goal, that was unlucky for them. Maybe we can call Osasuna win a surprise but Celta is far from their good days. Aspas haven't scored in 5 months and without him Celta don't have many scoring options.
Actually there are good opportunities in La Liga for those who follow the league closely.

Barcelona Winning last season La liga, not the championship you need to correct that typo error

There is no typo, Barcelona won La Liga championship last season. I don't know what you are talking about. If we look at the typos, there are too many in your posts though.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 13, 2023, 09:07:57 PM
I don't know, maybe this is the best way not to lose to Barcelona which is a team that is superior to them. To be honest that I don't see this as an interesting match, but very boring.

Barcelona played this way and won the championship last season. They won most of the games 1-0. It seems that we'll see similar team this season, more defensive and less productive.
İlkay Gündoğan seems far from expectations for now. Raphinha made a stupid move but Getafe didn't use of it good. Mata also got a red card and now both teams play with 10 players. Barcelona can increase the pressure and score the winning goal. Gavi, Fati and Ferran are still in the bench. Xavi should make his second move before it's too late.
