361  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 300GH Asic Miner on Ebay (Scam or not??) on: December 22, 2013, 02:29:37 PM
These rigs can be purchased in China/HK very easy, I see many have them overclocked up to 350Gh/s with cooling and using a server PSU.

Still there is plenty clones coming out of china now.

Sadly they will eat a lot of power and price can be high but many are offering good prices just have to look for the right supplier.

Point is, the Avalon chips did not end up in the hands of who they were supposed to, when they were supposed to, i.e. those here in the community, that funded their entire existence. They were instead being sold out the back door, hence the volume, and availability of clones in China/HK.

In any case the eBay listing is a scam, these are not ASICminer 55nm chips as Friedcat himself has stated he canned that project and is working on 55nm instead.

Totally agree with you on that one, It will be a simple copy and past from the supplier no doubt that and never checked the listing over. As it will be running the Avalon chips.

Hoping Friedcat is still due for the new ship/product release for the end of Jan - Hopefully around the 1Th/s mark

363  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Server Power Supply Interface Board - for standalone miners and GPU rigs on: December 22, 2013, 01:28:17 PM
Just want to say congrats on getting the prototype up and running.

Looking forward to when you have these in production for the Antminer's and Cubes

Cheers

I mine with Ozcoin - it's a small pool anymore, but one of the oldest pools and until the last few months had a pretty large network share. Excellent IRC channel, good servers and reliable admins. Not sure how it compares to the giant trendy pools, but there's some good people mining on Oz.

Just placed an order for an AntMiner today, looking forward to getting it in and messing with it. I understand OC is mostly a matter of ssh and change the chip frequency settings?

Should have better prototypes for 750W server supply interface boards, with bells, whistles and screw terminals -and greatly reduced risk of fire hazards- sometime this weekend.

Glad you got an order of to Bitman Smiley should be with you pretty soon hopefully Smiley and yeah SSH and change the freq, can play about with them I'm pretty sure they will be able to pushed further with some minor hardware changes to allow more power to the chips as just looking at the data sheet bitman provided and can see they can be pushed pretty high.

Looking forward to your server terminal boards really needing something for mine here in the UK, Best of luck and get some more photos up of the finished product Smiley

I was interested in these but with bitcoin value falling hard,i think bitcoin will be back to $40 usd pritty soon without china.

Bitcoin price will bounce back pretty quick, now is a pretty good time to start buying up bitcoins. Many predict bitcoin will triple its value by Q2 of 2014.

I think soon Bitcoin price will match the diff to produce 1 BTC at current high hash rate.

This is just my view, and great news Nine with latest DHL shipment. Hopefully it gets to you before the new year Smiley Keep us posted

All units have now been sold
368  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: updating on: December 17, 2013, 11:53:23 AM
Wish I had the extra cash with the current BTC price, would have loved an extra few for the collection, might get lucky and mine the rest in time for shipment though Smiley

So, is £1100 for two or not?    Huh

As you were expecting stock yesterday, I guess that means you're busy shipping today, and I've missed my chance?

Hello sorry for the delay, Sadly this is only for 1 unit Sad I am selling each cube with its own PSU as well include in the price.

When I bought them from fried I paid at a higher rate and sadly I can't sell cheaper or I will be at huge loss.

I am barely breaking even, but still all part of the fun of bitcoin

yet 1 of miner has HW increase all the time, I have swapped PSU round and still this problem exist.

is there way to find out what is the issue ?

both miners are on default clock setting

Thanks

Hashing at 165Gh/s, Running 2x 750W PSU 1 per blade.

Any ideas ?

why 2 PSUs per blade ?

Only way I can seem to get them to run properly, hopefully I can use the server PSU once I get a link to the cables

Cheers

Are you talking about the cables from the dell sever PSU to the blades? I have been looking for those same cables..

Yeah as sidehack said in another post it looks like they are custom cables and used with 1/4 crimps, Gonna get some 16 gauge wire and assemble some, need to find that cable how they jumped the PSU.

Will try message the OP that put the first photo up. Cheers
372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: December 16, 2013, 07:16:58 PM
Nothing, yet. Just monitoring temperatures and refining the design; been running two high-clock Cubes for 10 hours straight now and nothing on the board is even warm. Obviously the final product is going to be more enclosed/polished.

I think the picture Crover posted looks a fair bit more dodgy. Looks like they just crimped some 1/4 quick-connect tabs and shoved them in place.

let me know when you get the final product up and running as really needing to sort out my power solutions.

Thanks

Got my miner after a long delay due to UPS fault.

Not sure if my miner is fault as it only says I have 16 Chips and 32 on the other.

Hashing at 165Gh/s, Running 2x 750W PSU 1 per blade.

Any ideas ?

After trying a few times managed to get it all working fine Smiley Thanks Sushi

If it's a LTD company then thats good, look them up.  However, don't BTC without escrow, or collecting in person. "Limited" is just that.... limited liability.

I was actually thinking BTC in the shop before collection.  So, a customer arrives at an appointed date and time.  He tests for 30min, then BTC transaction is done.  Once atleast 10 clients have done this and our reputation and trust is built, then pay online and collect would be the way forward.  Again all this is something I need to take time and think about after I see my accountant.

What do you think?

Another way would be to give out test purchase to say select few that would do in depth review and setup guides, Like Bitman and Sushi did with the Antminers.

Gets the hardware in the hands of fellow trusted members and can get a good review on it and build the trust, I have no doubt people will make orders as the price you set is reasonable for the power you can deliver.

If you can have a miner delivered within few days of payment then that is good business. Hopefully can setup business soon and push for the lunch, with the Christmas holidays fast approaching deliveries will most likely now be within the new year since couriers and places shut for the holidays.
