Apparently at the beginning of 2017, there was a strong increase in interest in bitcoin from people who had never heard of it before. Everyone was interested in the price increase from $300 at the end of 2016 and up to $1000 at the beginning of 2017 of an unknown thing called bitcoin. This made bitcoin so popular all over the world from schoolchildren to old people.
