What also might help is letting the client run without opening the browser directly.
I have found several times that if I open the browser window immediately for some reason the blockchain download seems to stall.
I then just open the client (run.bat), let it do its thing for a minute or two and thén open the browser client.
Usually it opens with a downloaded blockchain. Weird, but true.

What`s jl777hodl (JLH)
Its an asset rated as buy ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) what can you do with this asset? It is a basket of 26 crypto assets. Think of it as a mutual fund. What you do with it? You buy it and hold it if you think the assets inside jl777hodl will increase in value over time. You can investigate the 26 assets held at: http://nxtreporting.com/?ac=NXT-DE2F-W76R-GL25-HMFPRI can buy the bundle named Jl777hodl, or one of the 26 assets alone? The idea behind it is that jl777hodl does that work FOR you. It's an investment fund. If you want to buy them seperately, you can certainly do that on your own ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Oh God. Why did you guys decide to host this shyster's B.S. warez?
I just love it that, in a decentralised organisation, you get the idea this is a decision made on some "top level" ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Some people liked it, wanted to do it, and went ahead and did it. At no point a group of directors gave their blessing, and at no point anyone asked. Why? because they don't need to. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You have been looking at corporately structured coins too much. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I am heavily invested in NXT since several months. Result: I am heavily disappointed about price development (and others) and I deeply regret my decision for NXT. Can see a lot of "good News" but no real progress.
Sorry to hear this. Yes, Nxt has had a bit of a weird offset between "good news" and price. We have lots of features in place, but the awareness of these seems to be limited. We are working on this.

Ps: @Damelon very clear and nice presentation , and very good thread ! Thanks .
To be honest: not my doing ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) farl4bit deserves credit for doing the design, and there are several other people giving input on it. The OP is definitely a team effort.

Can someone tell me, is it going to cost 1 nxt to send a message with this app? Currently, it has to. I am still hoping the discussion of different fees for different transaction types will be taken up again.

@Damelon nxtforum access and new user registration impossible
I pm'd you a while ago about an account update...I see that you did that but now I can't log in and I have lost all access to nxtforum. As a matter of fact new user registrations are impossible because the confirmation emails never arrive. Can you or the other admins fix this please?
Seems I buggered something up. ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) We're looking into it!

Bravo! Where did Marc come from?! He seems to be churning out interviews and being on shows almost daily ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Marc has been around from around March. At least that's when he released his first video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruYAxKeWxnMHe's been very constructive from the start. Now he's taking a more active role, which is much, much appreciated

That is not exclusive to Nxt. In general it's fár easier to get through life repeating what fits with your beliefs. We all do it, and it's a human trait. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I will help you, here is quote from JL777Hodl.
"This means the active liquid NXT is probably around 250 million total, which is still plenty especially with the normal trading volumes of 1 million NXT per day."
And? The active liquid Bitcoin is probably 1 million or less, the rest is hodl'ed and never leaves wallets, what does it have to do with anything? It has a lot to do with anything. First and more important stakes dont matter in POW currencies while in POS they are the only ones that matter. So if a couple of people control 75% of network its EXTREMELY important. You do know that a) James is nót a founding member of Nxt as you state. He came to Nxt after the IPO in december. b) Salsa is not the end all of all information on Nxt c) The numbers you quote there are 'guesstimates'. Here's the link to the article, by the way: http://nxtcoin.blogspot.nl/2014/06/how-nxt-changed-our-lives-james.htmlI have no problem with you disliking Nxt or its distribution (why should I), but methodologically it's suspect when you promote the sources of your links to greater status than they have to boost their believability. That's just not done. Also, yes, stake ís important, but so is distribution. Have a look at the charts: http://charts.nxtcrypto.org/cDistribution.aspxhttp://charts.nxtcrypto.org/cDistributionTopAccount.aspxThe Top 100 hold 730 million of all Nxt. You can hardly call a hundred people a "couple of people". None of these has the power to attack the network. They just don't hold that much stake. Neither is it in their best interest to do so. Of course, there is the preference that you may have for a network with a "better" distribution, but frankly, over the past months, those kinds of discussions have yielded little real solutions, and tend to default to "fairness" instead of "viability" and "security", which is a pity.

I'm not convinced that is what happened. Someone brought it up on NXT forum that he hadn't changed his password since they updated their cert after that heartbleed scare of 2014. But, that doesn't mean it was the attack vector. But, if it was, dropbox logs will show it.
Of course if someone at dropbox went to work in a new Ferrari today, then well, there you go.
It is not certain what happened exactly. Fact: security was very bad, so we know that. There is a possibility that the laptop he was using at the Bitcoin Conference in Vienna about a month ago was compromised (why these conferences keep using open WiFi is a mystery to me). Also, of course, someone close (a terrible thing to contemplate, but a possibility).
