Thats an huge sum, i think they must be freezed for at least 1 year.

is not a good idea to add them to the foundation to soon.

If they are freezed is the same thing and if some one is in late ( for family or health problem) can reedem the IOTA. also after the deadline.

Please iotatoken think about that

In the terms everyone agreed to when participating in the crowdsale they had 90 days to collect. We set this limit because 3 months is more than enough for anyone with a genuine interest in IOTA to claim them. We gave an extension of 1 week for a couple of late claimers. If someone has not shown an iota of interest in IOTA for 3 months straight, they frankly don't deserve it or need it.

The iotas are going towards the project, no freeze.

Yeap, there were TERMS OF CROWDSALE, it was clearly stated that IOTAs need to be claimed in 90 days, and in fact IOTA team give addition 1 week for latecomers. If people do not want their iotas - someone other do  Cool

I'd say the question is not will it or not, but WHEN.
May be not at launch, but in a few years?

PMSL!

How old are you? This is just too funny!

140's, genius??? lol. Well I never knew I was a genius too (grabs champagne and brags to wife). I always just thought I was quite clever but as subject to the limits of my insight and experience as everyone else is?!

Dude, I think most people here have IQs between 130-150s. I'd be surprised if you're much above average for this space, but honestly, who gives a crap about IQ?! You are a human being and apparently you have a fragile ego and are very insecure; instead of allowing your arguments to stand on their own weight you've tried to use authority-of-intellect to validate your opinion. This demonstrates that you still have a lot of ego to overcome if you ever hope to turn being 'moderately bright' into being a 'happy and secure' adult.

Obviously NVC says you will now react defensively because you'll feel attacked and belittled. That's your ego rising with rage at feeling so patronised. It does you no favours. Meditate, don't rise to it!

Dr Jabba prescribes a week long ayahuasca session in peru... you'll be a new man!

Wink

EDIT: My other half is laughing waaay too hard at the idea that I could be a genius Sad. Now my ego is bruised too lol!

If you have IQ - you have money cause only stupid will spend his/her lifetime on full-time job for small salary.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: March 30, 2016, 11:54:59 AM
Even if they did lift the idea, however, it is quite possible they did so from Sergio's research and not IOTA's

It's not about who took whose idea. It's about popularity of DAG which is an extra proof of its superiority.

Blockchain is obsolete. All the boys from the hood use DAG.

You said it yourself "the coin might have a market cap of billions".

That is still a long way off.

Even as we speak what is referred to on /r/Bitcoin as The Other Coin is valued at under a billion.

Opening at $10-$20million market cap can be justified and a possible spike to $100M is imaginable, but IOTA still has a lot to prove (technology-wise) for higher valuations to be speculated on.

The main thing for now is that David said that THIS WEEK we will get GUI  Smiley
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: March 29, 2016, 08:26:28 AM
Can anyone please tell me what was the price of IOTA after the ICO ended? With all the collected BTC's, what is the price right now before launch ?

0.0000025 right ?

My price (one of the middle bonus's) was 0.0000011 btc per iota.

So people are trying to sell at 3500 ? So that's about 30 times the initial investment, a bit greedy if you ask me ....
I could live with x10 profit for the early birds, but 30+ is a bit too much Smiley
OK thank you for the information, will be waiting for the exchanges to hit. Or if anyone is willing to sell at 1500 sat. msg me Smiley

P.S.
That is my personal opinion, if some one does not like it, just dont answer Smiley

Just for your interest, it was selling at 1000 iota for 400 NXT in January and 2000 sats in Febuary  Wink
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: March 22, 2016, 06:46:50 PM
4. I read somewhere that the current prices (around 30k IOTA for a BTC) is 30x the price of the ICO. Is that right? If it's right, do you think it's still beneficial to buy IOTA now?

At current price it is at 11-th place in coinmarketcap, with 30 000 BTC cap. http://coinmarketcap.com/#BTC
If you think that it is a better coin then any one from above - yes it is. You can sell your iotas above your buyin price and hold your wealth in BTC - as a more stable coin. It's one way to see it.

The other way is to ask yourself, can it be (in long term - years) the bitcoin successor - I mean DAG vs Blockchain. If it does, then it doesn't make sense to sell iotas at all. Cause it will be stupid like selling bitcoins for USD in 2011. For example, bigiotabig bought millions of iotas. I guess he done this not for quick profit in BTC in 1 month.

5. Any ETA for the IOTA launch date?

It's already possible to send nanoiotas via command line. We are waiting for GUI. My personal estimate is 1 week before GUI wallet.

371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where is Everyone Trading Altcoins? on: March 19, 2016, 05:00:33 PM
Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where coinmarketcap.com gets their pricing data from? They have over 600 different coins listed. To my knowledge no single exchange has anywhere near that many coins traded. Cryptsy used to be the big alt-coin exchange, but ran into trouble. Where do people go to trade the many coins out there, especially ones with low volume?!?

Thanks!

Check here http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/#markets

You can change ethereum with your favorite altcoin.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoins would you keep if you have $500? on: March 18, 2016, 08:54:03 PM
Which Altcoins would you keep if you have $500?

Well, if you ask me, I'd keep $50 worth of different ten altcoins (ethereum, dogecoin, monero, digibyte, dash, startcoin, etc).

The same that I keep before I had $500 - IOTA.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: March 18, 2016, 08:27:50 PM
I am very skeptical about the protocol of iota. CIYAM says that IOTA is not written very clean.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1398969.msg14219113#msg14219113

I think there are a high risk that IOTA does not work. Maybe Microsoft has not even looked at the code.

Here are software developers who can say more about the java code of iota?

Thank you

CIYAM is not an idiot, he is a troll.
He knows that when developing software, you design algorithm, and then you code it in programming language.
Cfb spend a year thinking about algorithm.

When you have an algorithm, you can code it in C++, C, Java, C#, whatever you like relatively fast.

CIYAM also knows that to take port number  from configuration file it takes 15 minutes of programming, you literally load file in memory, parse it and set a value of a port in a variable. 15 minutes to code.

And knowing all of that he wrote this crap about "crap software". So he is not an idiot, he is a cheap troll.
When I point that his claim that early versions of Facebook were written better then iota means that he has facebook source code - what do you think he said to me? He said to me that my English is broken. When I was 15 and I have nothing to say I do exectly the same.

He called himself "qualified software engineer". I say he is a qualified troll that have a degree in CS and wrote some code.

Did we all not place our trust in David and CfB when we participated in the crowdsale? I don't understand why some of us (luckily very few) are suddenly wary of David's judgement? Can we not simply trust him once again?

I think they do not want to pledge
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: March 18, 2016, 02:57:09 PM
i guess it would be quite hard to perceive a "lost opportunity" if we don't even "know" what it is all about...  Roll Eyes

really, after several pages discussion? This deal is not done deal yet. It needs to get enough coins pledged first. That is why David can't disclose the names and more details. It may not happen at all. The dilemma is that if you don't reveal enough information, people will not be interested and if you reveal too much information you violate the NDA and will put the deal in danger. It is hard. I think now we are walking on a thin wire on this deal. We might be already on the verge to break the NDA. The potential partners may walk away any time because of that.

Pledge 25 mil -> get "to the moon" deal

I will give 2 millions (to be split up between the foundation and this large potential deal).
It doesn't make sense to sit with millions of worthless coins  Undecided

Whales, do like me.

Just the fact that they are able to buy in a large chunk, which would be a hassle to do on an exchange is bending over for these guys enough.

exactly my thoughts.

No, it's called negotiation and business, we stand to gain more immediately than they do from this deal. I don't get why this is so hard for people to comprehend in this speculation thread.

Just to put the absurdity of this into perspective in layman terms: Do you guys also think that Puma went up to Usain Bolt like: "We know we stand to gain a ton by your association and involvement with our brand, but you'll have to buy all your clothes at retail for full price"?

Here is the facts: if enough iotas is not pooled together at a satisfactory value for them, the deal won't happen. If the community don't see enough value in such a huge deal, that is 100% their right and would indicate to me that they got some extraordinary plans up their sleeve which make them confident that we don't need such important key partnership and I wish them good luck while I'll sit back and wait for their huge announcement.

So... 50 mil to foundation and 25 mil to a big deal ?

Dont get me wrong iotatoken, iam honestly suprised and try to understand this moves, because it is realy unusal to see such actions. We all think that iota "could" or will be a big thing, but bigiotabig seems to have a lot of play money, for a project which is in a prestage, which makes me think. Have never seen such a crazy aggresiv buyer ever, in a prestage, and this looks realy untypical.

Wish us all a good journey, i trust the whole team and CFB has ever shown that he is a exceptional talent!

Sure, feel free to voice your concerns and skepticism, but I am telling you that I have not given any info to anyone that would prompt them to buy like this. At all. The info is quite simple: there are some big potential guys who want to own a lot of iotas and help the ecosystem grow, but ONLY if we can pool together enough iotas for sale at below marketrate. Nothing more and nothing less. This is the same info every person who has contacted me has gotten.

Can you tell us how many iotas do we need to pool ?

Image that you have 10 000 BTC. To invest 500 BTC while it is OTC trading then is nothing - it's 5% of your stash.
But when IOTA hit exchanges, and you put 500 BTC bid, then the price will skyrocket. You will not be able to fill your 500 BTC bid.
