Did Monero ever produce a gui wallet on their own? I know there are a couple of third party wallets and one of them is being abandoned.

That implies they are capable of creating something. I'm not quite sure about that, ~ six months after they took over.

I'm out of the loop. Not interested in Paycoin and its future at all.

I am interested in thieves being brought to justice.
363  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can I speed up the tor browser? on: September 02, 2015, 02:22:05 AM
You can try changing exit nodes if its that bad. Keep in mind torbrowser will never be fast.

The main mistake that the new developers made was not becoming a part of the Bitcointalk community, this is where all the developers are and the largest community so they should face everything head-on rather than quietly working away in the background.    quote; Crestington

The new developers would have been better served to scrap paycoin altogether and start afresh. Paycoin will always have a permanent "scam" tatoo despite best intentions.
365  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: September 02, 2015, 01:27:51 AM
I refuse to use Chrome/Chromium. There is no effective way of disabling webrtc.  Browser extensions to block webrtc have proven to be unreliable. Google wants webrtc bad.

Your originating IP can be leaked via webrtc even if you use a vpn.

Webrtc can be turned off in Firefox and Palemoon has no webrtc. Palemoon rocks.

Yawn.

Yep. Another day in crypto cleptoland.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you feel ashamed for recommending Bitcoin to family & friends? on: August 31, 2015, 09:48:40 PM
I got into btc after the big bubble burst. Thankfully, I never got anyone excited enough to buy it but I loved to talk about it (dam it).

Now I just hang my head and mumble something evasive when someone asks me; "How is bitcoin doing these days?"

Re: Are there too many altcoins?

Yes.

Deduct all the shitcoins and the number would look a lot better.

370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpartanCoin - Cryptocoin for the competitive world. on: August 31, 2015, 07:49:16 PM
I checked out the market at cryptopia. 23 btc worth of Spartan between 1 and 4 satoshis. No buy orders. Who is going to buy any after looking at the sell side? Come on guys.

I'm all for a Spartan revival but an obvious dump-fest is not going to do it.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: August 31, 2015, 07:41:19 PM
Ethereum has a long way to go before it threatens btc. At the current rate of development it could be years and years. The only thing making eth popular right now is day-trading and bagholders.

373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin to Buy? Exhaustive Research Into all the Most Popular Altcoins! on: August 30, 2015, 12:13:00 AM
I made a short list of "honest" coins from the devtome page. None of them seem to be doing so good today and a couple may barely be alive.

So what's going on? People don't give a shit about the good projects? Obviously its about the quick buck and not about altcoins with real world value and use.

It's too bad we did not support the good guys instead of letting the scammers run this scene into the ground with all the clones, ICOs, and premine scams.

So ya, altcoins are a bad investment.

Good start. Fresh install of linux Mint.

If your laptop has the resources install VirtualBox. Then run another linux guest OS. Something lightweight like Peppermint or LinuxLite.  Use your guest OS just for the wallet. Vbox also gives you the option of encrypting the guest OS for extra security.

In crypto, expect the unexpected.

Many people bought because of the halving hype. It is "hype" that drives the market around here.

Yeah, supporting bigger blocks is not the same as XT.

Fellow above nailed it.

Bigger blocks = fine. Hostile takeover = wrong.

Relax. It's ok if you're gay. No one cares.

I take it your browser extension has this capability? If so - nice job.
