361  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reee: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: March 10, 2024, 12:15:38 AM
I'm confused as to why AI spammers haven't at least started trying to hide their AI posts a little to make them sound more human. example; replacing "you" to "u" and not having proper grammar. This probably wouldn't entirely fool an AI detection test but at least they would look a little more realistically written by a human than AI.

Because that would require extra effort and the whole reason shitposters are using ChatGPT is to avoid having to commit any effort at all.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈 The United Football League (UFL) 2024 Thread 🏈 on: March 09, 2024, 03:37:52 PM
So here's a few rule differences I noticed between NFL and UFL -- there are others but these are some of the big ones.

 - Kickoffs will take place at the kicking team's 20-yard line as opposed to the 50-yard line like usual -- this is because apparently less than 21% of kicks are actually returned in the NFL
 - There is no extra point option after a TD, instead there are multiple PAT running options: you can go for 1 point at the 2-yard line, 2 points at the 5-yard line, and 3 points at the 10-yard line.
 - Instead of having an onside kick, a team can elect to take a 4th-and-12 from their 28-yard-line.

I would like to know more about field and roster size, will have to look that up later.

Here's things simplified a bit, the 5 accounts that all share a Binance deposit address:

slashz9 has several deposits to this address, and the timing between the deposit of Combo Tokens by the other accounts makes me believe they are all owned by the same person.

Here we see an address used by both slashz9 and huu78, which confirms they are alt accounts. Here we can see that gaston castano has already been connected to several bounty-cheating alt accounts.

This is pretty clear evidence to me that all accounts are owned by the same person, but I'll have to perform one more double-check before issuing red tags.
364  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reee: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: March 09, 2024, 02:52:48 PM
My postings are misinterpreted for AI-generated content since they are perhaps too brilliant to be written by humans. I guess.

LOL. You will go to such imaginative efforts to defend yourself here. Simply stunning, worthy of an AI-generated round of applause.

The only problem is your writing often sucks when you're not using AI. Here's an example of where you combined your own words and ChatGPT words together in the same post (ChatGPT is in bold):

1. Don't bet all your money on one bet.

I don`t place all my money on one bet. It is important to spread your bet as this is a crucial strategy in betting that helps to reduce risk and increase the likelihood of earning consistent returns. Spreading bets can help reduce the impact of losses, as winning some bets can offset losing others. It can also increase the chances of winning, as you have more opportunities to make correct predictions. Furthermore, not betting all your on one bet can make gambling more enjoyable and less stressful, as you are not relying on a single outcome to determine your success.

4. Don't bet every day.

I don’t gamble every day. Gambling involves risking money with uncertain outcomes. The more frequently you gamble, the higher the likelihood of financial losses accumulating over time. Gambling can be time-consuming, especially when done regularly. Spending too much time gambling can detract from other important aspects of life, such as work, relationships, and personal hobbies. Taking breaks from gambling ensures that you allocate your time more effectively and maintain a healthy balance in life.

So from the first sentence of your reply, we see that you go from not knowing how to appropriately space an apostrophe to flawless English. What are the odds that something like that would happen? Here's another:

I want to add voice to what you have noted. Finding a balance between enjoying the thrill of gambling and being responsible for one's actions is key to maintaining a healthy relationship with gambling. It's possible to derive enjoyment from the activity while also being mindful of its risks and limitations. By approaching gambling with a focus on enjoyment, acknowledging the role of luck, and practising responsible gambling habits, individuals can engage in the activity in a way that maximizes enjoyment while minimizing potential harm.

Gambling involves risking money on uncertain outcomes, making it inherently risky.  While gamblers can experience temporary wins or even streaks of success, as you noted, these outcomes are often short-lived. In the long run, the statistical advantage held by the house or operator tends to prevail, resulting in net losses for the majority of gamblers and even skilled players face an uphill battle against the inherent advantages of the house.

You want to "add voice to what they have noted"? Is that really an expression? No, its not, and its not something ChatGPT would ever say.

Just stop using ChatGPT to write your posts for you and they'll stop being deleted. Its really that simple.
365  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reee: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: March 09, 2024, 04:06:22 AM
I used the same AI detection website to test one of your most recent posts, and it came up 100% AI generated. Do you still believe the report, or are you using AI to post?

If I run your complete post history through the same system, I'll get more. These tools are imperfect and cannot be used.

https://sapling.ai/ai-content-detector/e5dc28b08011e3873a9da1980615e942

We're not anticipating thousands or millions of dollars worth of rewards when gambling on other games, which is why our chances are considerably better. Moreover, most gambling games have very specific outcomes (see roulette, dice, football betting, and so on), while the lottery is composed of numerous tickets with only a few actually winning anything of value. Add the low purchase cost and the large audience you mentioned, and your chances are statistically close to zero.

Personally, I'd rather use that money towards something else; these insignificant amounts we're discussing now can easily add up to reasonable amounts that could be used elsewhere.

You're being willfully obtuse in order to justify your AI shitposting habits. If you don't know what "willfully obtuse" means, run it through a translator, because it defines your entire attitude. You selectively used 1 AI detector while the minimum for reporting AI spam should be 2 strong positives from different detectors, which isn't the case with the post quoted above:

Hive: 0.0% likely to be AI generated
Copyleaks: Human Text

If you look at the results of the 9 posts I reported you will find all 3 of these AI detectors show a high degree of AI content in every post.

You should absolutely be canned from the Stake campaign, but I have a feeling you will not because, again, the standards for participation in your campaign are woefully weak, and it seems to have no quality control whatsoever.
366  Other / Meta / Re: Should Merit-Sources send merit based on their feelings or quality of the post? on: March 08, 2024, 01:34:41 AM
"Should Merit-Sources send merit based on their feelings or quality of the post?"  Cheesy

I'll chime in on this one. For me, the answer is both. Of course, the quality of a post should be at the center of whether or not it deserves a merit. Other factors include:

 - how close is the account to ranking up, and does the general quality of their posts suggest they are worthy of ranking up?
 - did they buy their account, are they likely to be multi-accounting or cheating campaigns/lenders/contests?
 - is there a possibility they are a scammer looking to build some kind of cred via obtaining merits to perform a scam of sorts?
 - do I get an immediate sense of dishonesty/disingenuity about them in any way?

So yeah, you could say a lot of these extra criteria are based on "feelings," or intuition, or both. Really I'm not that strict; I don't always go down this checklist before meriting a post. But there's few things on the forum that bother me more than watching a scammer or shitposting spammer rank up. It cheapens the meaning of the ranks for everyone else who is here to play by the rules and make a genuine contribution.
367  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: (Ordinals) BRC-20 needs to be removed on: March 08, 2024, 12:43:29 AM
Currently, transferring ownership of an Ordinal is highly inefficient. Every time you want to send it to someone else, the entire weight of the data must be included in the transaction.

Nope, this part is not true. The inscription is attached (associated) with a particular ordinal (1 satoshi) via an off-chain protocol. When the ordinal is transferred, it is implied that ownership of the inscription data is also transferred. Of course, you cannot actually transfer witness data, but it does not need to be re-inscribed each time when the ordinal moves.

If the data which is actually stored in an Ordinal was nothing more than a pointer,  including a signature (witness) and a hash, CID, url or whatever of the actual full-fat data, the misuse of the blockchain could have been mitigated. As it stands it's like cramming in of data, with 0 regard on how that looks being moved around full-fat each time.

Setting a max size on taproot script length is the best chance of mitigating this "misuse," as it appears to me, anyway. What size should that be? I have no idea, but I'd hope that less than 20 kb would suffice.
368  Economy / Reputation / Reee: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: March 08, 2024, 12:21:11 AM
Need to ree this thread since it was locked and I still have questions for the Stake campaign manager. I voted for Stake in the original thread, BTW, because the sheer volume of shitposts generated by this campaign is insane.

Well, now let me point some things that I see some people are misinterpreting in our campaign
  • We do not incentive or support spam of any kind. Every post with less than 150 characters, with an interval of less than 5 minutes (between each post) or has no quality is not paid.
  • AI usage is forbidden in our campaign (and I really wish all the campaign managers would do the same).

Seems like people aren't misinterpreting anything but rather you are failing to apply the rules of your own campaign. I bet you I could find at least 5 active AI spammers within your campaign right now. Let's the start with the most obvious one, who had been criticized for his non-constructive shitposting for months:

borovichok

Recently I had 9 "AI spam" reports against him marked as "Good":

Although this one remains "unhandled", I suppose because it is half genuine and half AI (guess which half is which  Roll Eyes ):

I don’t see your action as a form of support. This is reckless gambling and as you know stake also promotes the slogan bet responsibly. Gambling doesn`t cross my mind when I receive payment because I know the efforts I put in to meet weekly tasks so throwing the payment away will cost me my mental health and so I have always tried to avoid it. When you lose your weekly payment to the casino, you are essentially losing a portion of your income that could have been used for essential expenses such as bills, groceries, rent, or savings. This loss can lead to mental disturbance. It is essential to prioritize your financial well-being and avoid gambling with money that you cannot afford to lose.

Losing your weekly payment to the casino can also have profound emotional effects. The stress and shame associated with losing money through gambling can take a toll on your overall well-being. If you find yourself consistently losing your weekly payment to the casino and struggling to control this behaviour, it may be necessary to seek help from support groups, counselling services, or helplines dedicated to assisting individuals with gambling addiction. Recognizing the problem early and taking proactive steps towards recovery is key to regaining control over your finances and well-being.

When you are talking about a brand that runs 2 campaigns, with a total of 124 members, referring to its members, in general, as spammer is just stupid.

It's absolutely a fair generalization given the exceptionally low standards you have for the quality of poster who may join your campaign.

I also know many of our members are on top 50 in quantity of posts but a lot of them have a rating of 7.5+ for their quality so definitely not what I would simply call "spam".. but I also have to agree that, going further, some of the top 100 are under that rating so we will be working on it by the next week.

As was already mentioned, this is a completely meaningless metric that is not valued by anyone on the forum other than your staff and participants.

Last but not least, I am always open to read your suggestions. This is the first time I am running a campaign (and I like to believe the I am doing well, otherwise the campaign would not be on for so many years) & we always have something to learn.

My suggestions would be:

1. Cut the number of participants you have in half, retaining only the highest-merited users with non-purchased accounts.
2. Cut the total number of weekly posts paid per participant by 1/3. You can pay them more per post if you'd like since you are dismissing the worst posters.

This way, the chances of your campaign being named the spammiest will be reduced by half.

369  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: (Ordinals) BRC-20 needs to be removed on: March 07, 2024, 12:04:47 PM
Personally I believe pooya87 is right, but not in the way that he believes. Ordinals itself is not the attack, but an attack vector that could be used to launch an actual "attack", but which their maximum "damage" is merely maximum annoyance caused by high fees.

But that's also the fee market serving as a defense mechanism for such an "attack".

I suppose that's fair.

Why doesn't he use the Gold blockchain for that and inscribe each drawing on a bar of Gold. Haha.

I'm actually quite surprised he didn't make SchiffCoin, that way he could have complete control over the project from the ground up. Maybe its because its sounds a bit too much like "Shitcoin".
370  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: March 07, 2024, 01:10:32 AM
Stake spammer borovichok has gone back to AI shitposting, even though he swears he never did it in the first place.

Post #1: In this post, only the 2nd paragraph is AI generated, but the whole thing should be deleted as it is a zero value post IMO.

Post #2: Same thing with this one, but he just added "I agree with you" at the beginning, and then "To add to your contribution", all the rest is ChatGPT  Roll Eyes

I agree with you. To add to your contribution, while luck certainly plays a significant role in gambling outcomes, factors such as experience, statistical analysis, and informed decision-making can also contribute to increasing one's chances of winning. Engaging in thorough research, analyzing team performances, studying historical data, and considering various factors such as player injuries, weather conditions, and team dynamics can help individuals make more informed and strategic bets.

However, it's essential to acknowledge that despite careful analysis and preparation, there are still elements of unpredictability and chance inherent in gambling, particularly in sports betting where outcomes can be influenced by numerous variables. As you mentioned, even strong teams can have off days or unexpected losses, highlighting the role of luck in gambling outcomes. Therefore, success in gambling often involves a combination of skill, strategy, and luck working together. By incorporating both informed decision-making and an understanding of the role of luck, individuals can approach gambling with a balanced perspective and maximize their chances of success while also managing expectations and risks responsibly.

Post #3:

Understandably, you feel that way. Relationships should ideally be built on mutual love, support, and understanding, regardless of external circumstances such as financial success or failure. True love encompasses standing by your partner through both the good times and the bad.
If a partner's love and commitment seem to hinge solely on financial success or failure, it may indeed raise questions about the depth of their feelings and the foundation of the relationship. It's natural to expect unwavering support and solidarity from a partner, especially during challenging times.

However, it's essential to approach such situations with empathy and understanding, as individual responses to stress and adversity can vary. Communication and open dialogue are crucial in addressing concerns and finding ways to strengthen the relationship. Ultimately, every relationship is unique, and decisions regarding divorce or separation should be carefully considered and made with the well-being of both partners in mind. If a partner's behaviour or actions consistently undermine the foundation of trust and love in the relationship, it may be necessary to reevaluate the relationship and consider what is truly best for both parties involved.

how do you even know all of that is real. maybe most of it is from the same person with different bitcoin addresses.  Shocked that's how i think is the recognized way of jumpstarting an nft project is the owner steps in and makes a bunch of fake purchases to get people looking that way. not saying this one in particular but i think alot of people do that. project owners that is. it costs them fees but not much else.

It could be. But it would require someone to actually put the links together in a convincing manner, ala @zachxbt. I assume with majorly pumped n hyped projects like this there is a degree of wash trading going on, but its all hearsay without actual evidence. Meanwhile whats crazy is the floor price on these things has jumped to 0.73 BTC  Huh

I can't get over the fact that they look like shit. Like, way worse than CryptoPunks.

I think the war you are fighting is inside your head, because nobody else sees this battle but you. Hope your side is winning, for the sake of your own mental wellness.

Oh, BTW, this is fun. Peter Schiff has launched his own line of Ordinals, yet he still hates Bitcoin  Cheesy  you literally can't make this stuff up.

Yeah, my merit-to-post ratio probably screws me out of merit sometimes. I remember once sending a PM to TSC (TP back then) asking for his advice about a post of mine that didn't get merited. I think I even asked him (paraphrasing): "Do you reckon some people think: Fuck that guy, he has enough already!".

Yet every once in a while my merit finger hand is forced and I am compelled by a higher force to give you merits; same thing goes with LoyceV & o_e_l_e_o; I resent having to give them merits but I do it anyway because its beyond my control.

BlackJack.fun is handled by a Developer who maybe knows how to develop some games but he has no clue how to handle an online casino in a fair way.

You're literally the only one on this entire forum making that claim, which you have not been able to substantiate to the degree of even 1%.

They are doing just fine but are completely burnt out by being continually harassed by you for no apparent reason. No one here is taking your side BTW. You come across as a deranged lunatic. Worse than that, none of the claims you make are backed by any kind of evidence or logic. Time to take your L and move on to your next would-be victim.

OK well. The dirty has been done. I created a new thread for USFL discussion. Y'all are of course welcome to join in. As a matter of fact, you are not only cordially but also emphatically invited to participate. The season starts on Mar 30th. I decided I'm gonna try to get into it as I don't have but shit to do and it might be fun to try to find out which teams are worth placing bets on, or at least root for.

Weird thing is there isn't even a single team in the entire western half of the country (unless you count Eastern Texas, which has 3 of the 8 teams, and I don't):

378  Economy / Gambling discussion / 🏈 The United Football League (UFL) 2024 Thread 🏈 on: March 02, 2024, 12:21:56 PM

OK well let's do this. I was hesitant at first but since the start of the NFL season is still 6 months away, I need a new sports-related hobby and I'm willing to be open-minded enough to give the United Football League a chance since this is the inaugural season of a secondary-type of American Football league.

I wanted to open a new thread about it so as to not dilute DireWolf's esteemed, NFL-centric American Football thread with what is likely to be an inferior version of America's most-watched pastime, Hand Egg.

Let's dive right into how the UFL works, which is a newly-formed leagued that merges XFL and USFL teams. It is still "American Football" as the rules are somewhat similar to NFL and all the teams are based in the US.

Here's some basic information about the United Football League:

 - There's 8 teams that will play a 10-game season.
 - The season starts on March 30, with a contest between thee 2023 XFL champions (Arlington Renegades) and the 2023 USFL champions (Birmingham Stallions).
 - The season culminates in a "Super Bowl"-like match on June 16.
 - It is considered to be a "football minor league", which IMO is needed as the NFL doesn't really have that (it just has college football instead).

Here is the structure of the league (4 teams in each conference):

XFL Conference
 - Birmingham Stallions (Birmingham, Alabama)
 - Houston Roughnecks (Houston, Texas)
 - Memphis Showboats (Memphis, Tennessee)
 - Michigan Panthers (Detroit, Michigan)

USFL Conference
 - Arlington Renegades (Arlington, Texas)
 - DC Defenders (Washington D.C.)
 - San Antonio Brahmas (San Antonio, Texas)
 - St. Louis Battlehawks (St. Louis, Missouri)

So if you live in the Midwest or West Coast you're S.O.L., apparently. I'm still gonna find a team to root for.

What are the rules and how are they different from NFL rules?

Hell if I know. Apparently they want it to be a more fast-paced version of the NFL. I will go more into detail about it it in the next post, after I find out... Really not much out there on it at the moment; maybe they haven't nailed everything down yet.

Anyway, gonna try my darndest to make this fun, find a favorite team & perhaps it will even be bet-worthy.

Feel free to chime in if you have some hidden knowledge about the whole thing!

Also keep in mind this is a self-moderated thread and if your posts suck I will probably delete them. Thanks for your understanding.

It looks like my, @nutildah's[1] and other's report finally got this user banned. Although IMO nuke would be better option in this case. Hard to believe it took about a month and lots of reports to make it happen. This wouldn't be enough to discourage spammer who use AI or copy-paste bot (with spinner feature).

What's especially dumb is he was fighting for his right to AI spam all the way to the last minute:

Well the rules are very ok because it help us to be able to write very well in English, than to use AI because by using AI it just like someone who is doing expo in the classroom and it will not help us anywhere if we continue to use AI,but when you do your best with your brain it's preferable even though you sentence is not long enough, but at least the little that you were able to put down is commendable more than the good write up you have stolen from the AI..

Again please is there any moderator who can monitor all this, and be able to identify this AI write up and finish them out or how did get the find out who uses AI write?

This is what his posts look like w/o ChatGPT... Ay yayay. Sad to say it but a decent % of users shouldn't be posting on this forum at all. I just can't believe how incredibly low the bar is for getting accepted into a sig campaign here (granted the aforementioned offender was not yet in a campaign). Campaign managers should really set higher standards so we don't have to read the barrage of nonsense that comes from their campaigners, and so those that aren't interested in writing anything remotely interesting don't even bother trying.

The posts weren't actually imported from sourceforge (which is referred to as the "old forum" in satoshi's welcome post) but from bitcoin.org/smf.

There are ways of verifying that satoshi's posts were the same on bitcoin.org as they are now on bitcointalk.org by comparing post counts, timestamps, and archived versions of the posts.

Other than that, this is a great mini-documentary. Thanks for helping to bring some attention to the true importance of this forum from a historical perspective. Kudos & cheers.
