362  Economy / Economics / Nigeria is set to join BRICS in May 2024. on: March 09, 2024, 10:14:50 AM
BRICS organisation X account made a tweet on Friday which reads 'Nigeria will apply to join BRICS in 2024'. Nigeria has been going through a lot of economic challenges which have caused double-digit inflation and the depreciation of the country's currency the Naira. One of the problems of the country is its over-reliance on the dollar for imports. The dollarisation of the Nigerian economy has put pressure on the Naira causing it to lose much value.

Joining BRICS might not be the only solution to the economic recovery of the country but it will contribute to its economic recovery. This is because if Nigeria eventually becomes a member of BRICS, the West African country would be trading its major exporting product which is oil in Naira and also paying for exports with its local currency, thereby reducing reliance on the dollar.

364  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: All Time Buy & Hodle (ATBH) on: March 07, 2024, 07:43:42 PM
If the price do not come out the way you want in the bull market what will you do? And finally can you endure the longevity of the investment?
Predicting the price of Bitcoin is not easy, but it is important to set a feasible target. If the price doesn't get to your target you have to be patient for more year's or sell below your expectation. But the best option will be to hodl foe another few years which is why it is more convenient to invest the amount you can live without. You should also a source of income and an emergency fund so that you can be able to keep your coin until you hit your target.

Buying at ATH or what I said, which is Hodle Atbh is stupidity, usually that summit is unknown and some try to predict it, but no one knows it on his face to determine, so do not try to buy with it, but any level is close to it, the bitcoin profit is at the purchase and not the sale because it is a point Purchase is easier to specify, as the bicoin, and after it reaches the summit, there is a correction of at least 60%, which means that you know the point of the summit and calculate a 60% correction and you buy then your profit is somewhat guaranteed.
Investors can decide to buy Bitcoin at anytime no matter how high the price might be. Bitcoin has always exceeded its previous all-time high. So anybody who has the funds to buy Bitcoin and to hold it for like eight years will make a profit notwithstanding the price it was bought. So I don't see people buying during the bull run as foolishness because Bitcoin is still in its early stage and will certainly keep growing.
365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indirect victims of gambling addiction on: March 07, 2024, 07:06:30 PM
Of the many who answered who was indirectly affected by gambling addicts, the average answer was those who were close to the addict himself, whether it was family or friends in his neighborhood, maybe for family it must be clear because they have blood relations and other things like that, including friendship.
Most responses in this thread focused on the indirect effect of gambling on close relations. But the society also suffers indirectly. Gambling addiction can lead to people engaging in criminal activities just to raise money to satisfy the uncontrollable desire to gamble. Some people have engaged in illegal activities like robbery, kidnappings,  scams, etc, just because they want to get money to finance gambling. It is the community that suffers these indirect consequences because the area will become insecure for the inhabitants.

The organization in which the gambler works also suffers from the gambling addiction of employees. Gamble addicts might not give their best on the job because they are more concerned about gambling. With a lack of commitment to work, the productivity of such staff will reduce leading to the loss of human resources. Addicts might even engage in sharp practices in their workplace because they want to feed their hunger for betting.

367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best way to go about making a crypto casino. on: March 06, 2024, 05:16:01 PM
Furthermore, consulting with a dev team, they charge hella a lot for it to be developed and said 1 game takes around 400 hours to be developed (which i know that is not true, as they charge by the hour)

So I am wondering if anyone here knows a place where we could whip up a simple MVP crypto casino to be done at a cost effective price, or even partner with an existing one to bring it to market.
Consulting professionals for advice will be the best option for new casinos. This is because they have the right technical skills and experience that can be beneficial to your casino setup. They might be very expensive but I also think that you could also find cheaper consultants that you can afford. It is good that you are taking your time in researching because the internet will help you get more information. I also assume that some of the campaign managers might be highly experienced in starting and running a successful casino. You could reach out to them for more technical support.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US GOVERNMENT CONTINUES BITCOIN SEIZURES, CONTROLS NEARLY 1% OF CIRCULATING SUPP on: March 06, 2024, 05:04:07 PM
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/markets/us-government-continues-bitcoin-seizures-controls-nearly-1-of-circulating-supply-

The US, after all, controls nearly 1% of a massive industry with substantial leverage over it. Are they going to be the only country with this leverage? It may be difficult for any nation to build up these stockpiles in secret, but even so, the race has already begun. No matter who wins it, it’s Bitcoin that will be on top in the end.
Bitcoin is a viable Investment which entails that the US government is making the right decision to keep the coin. From time to time we have seen the government auction some of the confiscated coins to fund its crusade against crypto criminals and payment to people who have suffered from crypto scams. China would have had the opportunity to stockpile enough Bitcoin but they missed the opportunity when they started making anti Bitcoin policies.

Quote
unfortunately it would appear that the US governments hands are dirty and it has stolen peoples bitcoins, confiscated them, throwing people in jail and all kinds of things. enjoy your bitcoins you buy from uncle sam because it is blood money... Shocked
Most of the crypto currencies which the US government has seized were connected to fraud, hacks, or scams. I might not be correct, I don't know any case where the government confiscated people's funds without them being connected to criminal activities.
369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't understand you people... on: March 05, 2024, 11:05:57 PM
When I see that the price is flying down steeply, I sell everything and let it fall down. When it stops, then I buy cheap and I have earned...
BTC is going down now, so let it go and buy when it stops. We can all make money from it and then we will again get it up together! Unfortunately, there are always a few "geniuses" who go against the flow and they are buying when they should be selling, and that destroying everyone's earnings...
I'm seriously upset because a couple of such  " smart "  people just ruined my chance to make up for a 15k loss... I would like to kick them somewhere!
Everyone deal with Bitcoin Investment differently. Some are traders while others are long-term investors. As a trader, you will have to follow the market to identify when to buy or sell. On the other hand, long-term investors don't have much business with buying or selling because of the slight movement of the market. Most long-term investors have analyzed and forecast how the market will be in the future. Having these predictions in mind they have set price benchmarks on when to sell or buy. They have no business with these minimal price movements that is caused by FUD or FOMO. Your investment strategy might be working for you but don't forget that others also have theirs.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discrepancies in Casino Experiences on: March 05, 2024, 10:41:50 PM
This is a casino related issue. I feel like some people are lucky. Or maybe this isn't about luck. If you read on this forum and on the internet you will see that there are people who complain about the same casino that you have been playing for years about, being unable to login, unable to withdraw, and other casino issues, and calling these casinos scams. For some of these people, they didn't default on the terms and conditions looking at their screenshot evidence(I know that it is just a few cases). How does it make you feel knowing you've had a smooth experience while others have encountered such challenges?
I have never had any bad experiences with any casino, one could say I am lucky. But when I see others have issues with casinos I usually follow the thread to study what the problems are and identify who is at fault. If it was the casino, my feeling would be I might be the next to suffer such a problem if I use the casino. My next move will be to avoid the casino to avoid being the next victim. However, sometimes the fault is not usually from the casinos because players might also violate the terms of service. But if the casino is not guilty I will consider to bet with them.
371  Economy / Economics / Re: Approaching BTC ATH in $, but lets see that for local groceries prices on: March 05, 2024, 10:15:41 PM

In 2021 a Coca-Cola 60cl pet drink was sold at about N150 in Nigeria and one dollar was about N409.3900 which means one Bitcoin would be equal to 28,247,910. Then one Bitcoin could buy about 188,319 60cl pet drinks. The current price of 60cl bet drink is N300 and the current dollar rate is 1,561and 1BTC to naira today is about 98,843,465. Bitcoin can afford about 329,478 60cl pet drinks. It is clear that Bitcoin has broken its ATH in the Coca-Cola pet drink.

375  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Mistakes?? on: March 02, 2024, 09:35:31 AM
Being new to the world of digital finance,  I think a great way to start and excel is by gathering information from the experienced here, on the biggest mistakes you have made, and things to do and avoid. I really think that'd be a big plus for an upcoming investor like myself.
One of my mistakes is to believe that there was no difference between Bitcoin and altcoins. Some folks invited me and my friends to a so-called Bitcoin seminar. We were brainwashed that there is no difference between Bitcoin and others so we were deceived to buy a worthless shitcoin. The lesson is that don't be deceived, Bitcoin has no duplicate or substitute.

I have a friend who downloaded an online wallet and forgot to write down and keep the seed phrase safe. He lost his phone and eventually lost the funds he put in his wallet. Ensure your seed phrase is written down, laminated, and kept in a safe place.

There will always be negative news about Bitcoin which can lead to FUD. I want to advise you to seek information from verified sources and also follow your investment plan. Don't be scared by the negative news in the media because they are just distractions.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Some people acts stranded and in need of the ways for breakthrough but not ready on: March 02, 2024, 09:07:17 AM
I simply asked him if he can engage in an investment platform that he may stay couple of times without profits? He said how long? And I said I don't know, the system would decide then he asked me to give him a range of time then I said maybe around 6months ahead.
He said no way he can', then i paused and deep inside of me, I was happy that I haven't exposed my source of income to him yet which I intended to introduce him in.
I don't know if you have another Investment platform you want to introduce your friend to. This is because Bitcointalk shouldn't be seen as an investment platform or a major source of income. One could earn money through signature campaigns but these incomes are not certain or consistent which is why we should have other stable sources of income. Introducing the forum to people by telling them about earnings in signature campaigns I not a good strategy. You should showcase the forum as a learning platform first before any other thing

People are more interested in getting rich quickly and don't want to make any form of input to achieve their goals. They just want to sit down doing nothing while money flows into their account or wallets. They are not willing to learn a skill or study about an innovation, but they just want to start earning.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I was able to donate Books to school pupils with my little Campaign Bitcoin on: March 02, 2024, 08:26:42 AM
Good work OP. I am more interested in the books and other items you gave to these children. From the picture it is clear that they are from poor households that might not afford those gifts you gave to them. I doubt if any of them will be able to learn much about Bitcoin because these children are bothered with other basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter. However, just knowing that Bitcoin is a currency is enough, some of them might take an interest in the currency in the future.

This is obviously another attempt to fish merit.
These photos are all edited that's why you ensured there was no background. Plus if you look closely you will notice that the images on the books the kids are holding is totally different from the Bitcoin ones you said you customized. Plus those don't look like kids in a school setting ( they are on flip flops and not on socks ) what school accepts that?
I looked closely at the pictures in the books and didn't think that the customized books were different from the ones the children were holding. So you need to show more proof to authenticate your observation.

Your view that those kids are not in school showed that you have little or no knowledge of the happenings in most developing nations. These children are even well-dressed because in some schools most of them can't afford bathroom slippers. I can verify that this is a typical school setting in the rural area of Africa.

Regarding merit fishing, your view is also subjective because you can only guess his objective. Maybe he has other reasons for posting this selflessness on the forum. Maybe he wants to showcase how he is spreading Bitcoin education through giving and this can also spur other members to engage in the good work. Giving merit I not by force, if you suspect that a post is for merit fishing, don't give any.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 02, 2024, 07:49:14 AM
unexpectedly and I'm sure there are a lot of bettors who lost in this match because yesterday I read that a lot of people would bet on PSG winning and also bet on the total score over but it turned out to be very surprising for both teams without wanting to split the score and chose a draw with a score of 0-0 .
previously I had thought that this match could end in a draw because Monaco is one of the popular teams and has often faced PSG so that any weaknesses that PSG has can be faced Monaco and on the one hand competing at home gives Monaco players the confidence to withstand PSG attack was even, Mbappe even had difficulty breaking into Monaco goal, even though he had put up resistance but still failed.
Although in football we are to expect anything many bettors never expected that Monaco would be able to get a draw for the game. As usual, PSG dominated the game but getting a goal was their main problem. The host team also got their quota of opportunities but they also failed to maximize them. Monaco is coming up strong recently and from all indications, they might have a better season compared to the last one when they ended in 6th position. Brest still maintains their 2nd position even when Monaco has played one more game but Monaco can still fight for the second position.

Monaco used to be a regular team in the UEFA Champions League in the past but they have not been able to make it to the competition in recent times. The gap between PSG and other clubs is still wide, so it is almost certain that they will win the League. PSG is gradually experimenting with how to play without their talisman Kylian Mbappé.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: March 01, 2024, 06:36:00 PM
Reading the principles of Nayib Bukele always gives me positive energy. From his quote which says 1 BTC = 1 BTC, we who always support Bitcoin want every country to have a leader like him with advanced thinking who can make the economy develop amidst the loss of value of fiat currency.
A president that was not sacred of the negative prediction and that of international lending organizations like World Bank and IMF deserves to be respected. He predicted that investing in Bitcoin would be good for his nation and regardless of the attacks and criticism, he fearlessly pursued the Bitcoin project.

Half of the total ownership will probably be released or sold when the price reaches $100k or more in my opinion and he will think of a new strategy again even though my thinking is not necessarily justified.
According to his Twitter post, the country has no plan to sell. My view is that he might not be selling in this bull run because they have a long-term vision for Bitcoin. They country is still acquiring more through its citizenship programs. The president is a die-hard supporter of Bitcoin and I am happy he won the last presidential election, at least he would still be in power till the next bull run.

Welcome to the forum and I hope that your stay here will be beneficial to you and the community. Ensure you read the rules of the forum to avoid violating them. Some of the rules are the pinned posts you see in the Beginners and Help board and you can also find others in other boards.  I checked your post history and observed that you have already started promoting a project NIX Platform Community on the altcoin board. I hope you read the rules of the altcoin announcement board before making that thread.

A little about me: I have a passion for tech stuff. Whether it's bitcoin or not, I always find myself diving deep into the details and enjoying the discussions around it.
Since you are passionate about the tech sector the technical and development board of the forum might be attracted to you. You will learn almost everything about Bitcoin and others in the forum if you are willing to learn. There is also a search option in the forum that can help you locate information.
