361  Economy / Gambling / Re: How Crypto casino market themselves? on: February 21, 2024, 10:18:13 AM
I am curious to know who are their targeted audience and at what age group. In general gambling people target countries like thailand more but probably this is not the case with crypto. Do they target nerds or total dumbs? How efficient they are between their marketing tactics?

the answers you seek is a private marketing strategy being executed by most casino owners to get their desired audience and i doubt you have the right to getting such information disclosed to you just because you asked for it.

If what you're concerned about is to ensure that they are marketing their product the right way and to the right people, I guess they don't just exist online, they have countries of residence and operate based on the rules and regulation that is governing the operation of a gambling company in the said area. If they go against the regulations and maybe allow people that are under age to go into gambling, then they will definitely be questioned by the right authority that are bestowed with the power to doing so.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too advanced to get into Bitcoin now? on: February 21, 2024, 09:53:33 AM
Cryptocurrency prices have increased by 118% compared to last year. Similarly, prices are increasing by almost 83% in the last 04 months. The dramatic history price of Bitcoin peaks and the recent buzz around its upcoming "halving" its only fair to pose the most obvious question in front of us that-
Did the Bitcoin flight already leave investors? or is there still time to buy a ticket?
i don't know how you're able to come up with the percentage increase in the current price of bitcoin compared to last year but let's assume your figure is right, if those that invested last year can experience theat amount of profit within a short period of time, is that not a good indicator that suggest that of you buy now you will still get profit in the long run?

Investing into bitcoin isn't a short term investment and regardless of the current amount you bought bitcoin at the moment, if you're able to HODL a bit longer, it's going to be a profitable investment. When you compare the current price of bitcoin to the amount it can get to in the next 10 years, you will know that their is nothing like a late time to investing into bitcoin.
363  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: NAIRA VALUE FALLS TO 1700/$ on: February 21, 2024, 09:46:36 AM
Just like @makus don advice you, before creating any thread most especially as it regards trending matters, ensure you look at the board to see if someone has posted a similar thing before you. If someone has done that, you can just contribute to the already existing discussion rather than creating a separate thread for it. If we continue to create new thread whenever the value of Dollar rises or drops down to a certain amount, it won't take time before everywhere will get flooded with similar post and it wouldn't make any sense when an outsider comes into the board to view the kind of discussion we are having here.

Follow he instruction you've been given and luck this thread and maybe you can just edit the Title of the thread and add SOLVEDto it so it wont become a distraction to serious matters that needs to be looked into.
364  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How Does popular economic trends solve real life problem? on: February 21, 2024, 09:38:07 AM
Wouldn't this public talks about how bad our economy has become tarnish our image and reputation in the public space? Or could it possibly make our leaders more concerned and set up strategies to help reduce the hardship on the citizens?
if what it takes for our leaders to come to their senses and carry out the responsibility they are supposed to do is to talk and shout for the world to see what we are passing through then so be it.

Do you expect people to people to remain mute on the midst of these economic hardship? Can you even remain quiet even though you want to? Everyday things continue going from bad to worse and even small African countries lie the Cameron, cote De voir and so many smaller African countries with little economic strength has a currency that's stronger than ours in the global market. When I saw that you can literally work in Cameron and whatever you're paid if you convert it to the Naira, it's more than twice it value in naira I literally wept for my country.

Maybe talking about how bad out economy is won't directly solve our economic problem but if our leaders still have any slight sense of human spirit in them then our cries wont be in vain. Now that we are even crying we can't even see any change do you know how bad things will get to if we all keep quiet and allow things to continue the way they are?
365  Economy / Economics / Re: Step up your game before the game steps you down. on: February 21, 2024, 07:54:12 AM
If only we know how bad the economy is degrading globally, we would want to push ourselves to our limit and focus on that our skill or business. Taking it up to the next level. Some persons are still skeptical about the business they own, while some are waiting for the opportunities, they were promised to them by friends or relative and others are comfortable because they have rich people around them that if they place a call, they will answer them.
what makes a person a responsible adult is the ability to manage whatever privilege one is entitle to and still continue pushing himself to the peak as though you don't have a dime privilege. One thing i always tell myself is that regardless of what my friends or relative have financially, I assume I don't have access to it because the moment you start looking at the success of your friends as yours, you are going to become to relaxed and might bot be able to up your game as much as you ought to. Times are hard and the economy situation isn't friendly at all. The best thing you can do to yourself Is to cease every opportunity that comes your way and give it the best shot you've got knowing that you are all you've got.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wednesday had been my bad day to gamble. on: February 21, 2024, 07:32:18 AM
Anyway, some will say it is just a superstitious belief but what if it keeps on happening?
How about you? Do you have that one day when you feel like you are not even winning whatever you do or whatever game you play?
you might be transferring what you are experiencing at home to your gambling environment because their is actually no direct relationship between a day of the week and the outcome of the activity that goes on at that particular day.

If we want to go to the angle of superstitious believe, if you're the one that believe In it, it most times works for you and it's possible that you always have the feeling that you're going to always fail at a said day and when it finally happen, your mind justifies what you've believed in and with time the thought and conclusion like this makes you have a a conclusion as this.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Wins: Your Money Was Returned to You. on: February 21, 2024, 07:22:18 AM
And all the ones I have seen and known, the losses are more than the wins. And when I carefully look at the argument I also accept the assertion that what you win was part of your loss. Is that true? Make your input.
looking at the argument from a logical point of view, casino owner establish their site just because they want to make a profit and how else can they make this profit if not from the losses of people? It might be from your loss or that of others but at the end of the day the money gamblers use in the process of gambling is what they end up winning at the end of the day.

People sometimes become lucky to experience some wins during their first moment of gambling which encourages them to continue gambling in the long run but at the end of the day, they will still lose their money which will be used to pay for the wins of others.

Imagine their is more win than losses in a casino gambling? Would the company still remain financially strong enough to continue in running the site? It's literally a gambling adventure that's happening between the owners of the gambling site and the person involved in the process of gambling.  If you win or not, someone always gains at the end of the day. So it's a win win situation for the both parties where each parties win depict the loss of others.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: February 20, 2024, 03:09:57 PM
I went to a betting shop around my locality then I bet with $10 and lose all of them so I was holding  up to $1 separately for transporting my self back to my residence, but funny how I staked with my transport money and won.
Although, I had more money on  my account that I can use for transporting my self back to my house if incase I lost the physical cash, that was why I wasn't afraid to stake with it.
this is a bad idea that shouldn't be applied at all. It's very important to know when you should stop and it's even bad that you have to gamble up to your last cash before thinking on quitting and to attempt gambling out your last physical fund is a risk you should avoid.

This is one of the reason why it's necessary to have a budget before engaging in a daily or weekly gambling. Set an amount you can't go above regardless of the urge to do so. You can't be lucky all the time and you should know that because uku won on that said day doesn't mean you will always win. Today you had some spear cash with you that enabled you to comfortably gamble with your transportation fare. The next day, it might be that you don't even have a dime in your account and because you where fortunate to win in the last one would become the negative motivation that willake you become an unplanned beggar on the way.
369  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 20, 2024, 02:58:38 PM
The truth is that you enjoy gambling more whenever you a consistent source of income that doesn't allow you to become overly emotional whenever you are gambling. Most of the people that look at gambling as a full time job are damn unemployed folks that are looking for anything handy that could bring about financial incentive and gambling is just one of their means to the end of getting money into this pocket.

Most persons that don't even have a consistent source of income that aids their gambling habit are the ones that easily become addicted to the act because every slight story they hear from people on how they gambled and made a good amount of money out of it will propel them to wanting to do same just in case luck might shine on them.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad idea saving every penny on crypto stable coins on: February 20, 2024, 02:27:37 PM
Sometimes I begin to imagine instead of transferring my money into the bank to keep for a number of days or months before usage in form of savings that nothing will add up instead it remains stagnant or the bank charges me even more. Is it not better I save them on a stable coin such as the USDT?

Please what do you think? Will I end up losing my funds one day if I do so?
To me I feel it's good way to save.

Please what's your opinion on this?
Considering the regular gain of the dollar over most fiat currency, it's now obviously the best decision to take most especially when your currency has a lower value compared to the fiat. But doing that requires that you keep out a certain portion of your saving in your fiat form while the rest that you wouldn't be needing anytime soon can be converted to the dollars which has been very much positively volatile and has favoured most persons that are currently earning in dollar.
371  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is this ideal? on: February 20, 2024, 02:08:42 PM
They are looking for solutions, they resorted to a temporary solution as usual. This will solve nothing
That's the problem with our leaders, always looking for ways of shifting responsibility to others just so they can be seen to have made a move regarding the plight of the masses after which everything goes back to normal or worsen off with time.

They already know that facing the local bureau the change guys won't solve any thing but na those people their hand fit easily torch their head and they will have to suffer for the poor economic management of these politicians.

My concerns had been on how a slight change in the dollar to naira rate will totally shake our economy to the extent it has gotten to at this moment. Are we trying to say that we don't even produce any viable product in this country? We really have a long way to go as a nation cause the rate of grievances among the masses considering the challenge people have been going through within these few days, don't be surprised that protest might break out any moment from now.
372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 20, 2024, 05:55:50 AM
Like what other investments? what investment is better than bitcoin?

No, not better, just safer. I think I need a safer investment as a backup for emergencies, like gold. I need to have land assets to survive (make a house, grow crops). If investing in stocks or real estate, of course it is no better than bitcoin
is investing into land actually safer than investing into bitcoin? I doubt. I don't know how investing into land works in your area but for mine, that's one of the most risky thing an average person could think to venture into. Most of the land I know of could easily be taken over by the government for reasons best known to them and in most cases the owners don't end up being compensated for, and you think that's not risk right?

Should we talk about the situation where you bought a land in an environment that suddenly went into war and you can't even think about going to see your land for your own safety?

It's not like investing into land is a bad idea or can't be profitable in the long run but lands that are obviously appreciating in price is always too expensive and the competition among buyers tend to be much and if you are not careful a particular portion of land could be sold out to two people without them ever knowing coupled with the other fact that for someone that's not still strong financially, you can't really think on accumulating lands bit by but because the least plot of land in a growing area is quite expensive relative to accumulating bitcoin bit by bit with the use of the DCA method.

Also know that Every investment comes with it own peculiar risk and that's where the maturity to deal with those risk comes in. The thing has always been to choose what works best for you depending on your financial capability and work with it. If you're not strong financially, you can't be everywhere investing into everything that comes your way and so it's only best you choose the best investment option and stick with it.

373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: February 16, 2024, 07:40:34 PM
The urge this man felt to gamble was so high, that he didn't even measure the consequences of leaving two 2 years old kids at home alone to gamble at a local casino for 5 hours straightforward. Imagine the state of mind of this man to give more value to his gambling session than to the lives of his two young kids who could need him anytime.

the guy is obviously a loosed addict.  I believe what could possibly make someone go to this extent could be possibly as a reUkt of the person taking alcohol in addition to his gambling that might have made him loose it to the extent of neglecting his primary duty of taking care of his kid to go into gambling. He needs serious counselling and he obviously needs to be monitored before he does something worse than that.

375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: February 16, 2024, 10:10:01 AM
A situation where the stake for the bet he won was $1k, the next statement you hear is how wish I knew I would have staked with $5k. The question is, the $5k is it an amount of money that you can be comfortable losing or it's just out of greed that you are not contented with the win amount the $1k gave you.
this is why it is called gambling. It's always not an ideal situation else it wouldn't be called gambling. People would normally want their good prediction to pay off and it's a very normal statement among most gamblers whenever they used an amount that's small to gamble and the game came out successful to always wish they staked with an higher amount of money.

The reality is that if you placed a bet with an higher amount, their is every possibility that you could win or not but every gambler is not gambling just because he is hoping to loose. People gamble because they want to win and that's the essence for such a statement when they placed a bet with a smaller amount.

What's your take on this news?

If this is true, this is going to be a big lift in nwabali's carrier but do you think it's better he goes to the EPL?
377  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The need to be in the right state of mind before navigating through the forum on: February 16, 2024, 06:02:07 AM
If you know you ain't on your right state of mind, please don't come to the forum to make any post because this place isn't social media where you feel you can do something and get away with it. I want us to understand that no matter how hard it is, never joke or compromise your reputation as it is what makes others to trust you and see you as someone with reputable characters.
Although it's correct not to allow whatever emotional or psychological problem we are facing in real life to interface with what we are doing on the forum, I find it a bit strange that we're taking things too ideal here to be honest. Like, it's very difficult for you to make any mistake or do any thing that is a bit odd or suspicious without being dragged to the peak and your account being threatened seriously.

I know some bad eggs might have displayed some negative character in the past that has sent a bad signal about our local boards reputation but can we be too perfect as we exist in the forum?

It's good to set out rules and regulations that curbs peoples excesses so the board remains clean and void of scammers but it's also good to do that and not drag some innocent one along with it.

Make you no carry your "reggae go spoil another person blues" come dey call am mistake.
maybe this is coming from a personal experience you've had with someone and I don't even want to imagine that someone's carelessness has to put me in a situation where my reputation is being questioned but what I always know is that as long as I am sure I have been as sincere as I ought to be, If for any reason anyone carelessly makes a post that end up attempting to drag me into the mud, the best thing to do is to explain myself in the most sincere way in the board, talk through with the person and let things be. No one is perfect and so I believe our reputable members already know that.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: February 16, 2024, 05:25:43 AM
Being addicted to gambling can be a thorn in the flesh. We have heard many bad behavior from gambling addicts that shows that gambling is a serious concern requiring serious efforts at curbing it. Many casinos also include in their disclaimer "gamble responsibly" and this shows the danger of gambling addiction.

However, I'm wondering if addiction can make someone become aggressive to the point of leading to domestic violence. Has there been any known case of it happening? Lets know what you have to say.
Regardless of the form of addiction, addiction in itself is a bad act that should be discouraged in it entirety. Addict generally react to things differently and their negative attitude towards life, finance and their family members might result in domestic violence which could to abuse on family members.

Because most addicted gamblers want to win by all means, they might go to the extent of using the reserve funds meant for the up keep of the home in gambling and if that doesn't go down well with their partners it becomes a problem in the home that might lead to violence.

Gambling is supposed to serve the purpose of win and a bit of financial aid. It's not a job and shouldn't be seen as a means fir financial liberation. Gamble with you head and sense.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: February 16, 2024, 05:16:33 AM
In as much as what you're saying is true, gamblers find it difficult to keep their little win to themselves. It's very difficult before you see someone win up to $1000 in gambling and people will not know. For those who are into sports betting and who do it in a betting shop, you will agree with me that before you even come to the betting office with your ticket, they already know that you've won, and even when you try to keep the win to yourself, they will tell others in the shop that someone won a certain amount in that betting shop.

I know of some fellow sports betting friends who will even be angry at you because you refused telling them you've won a bet you've previously played.  People always believe that if me A can win, that they will also win and that's one serious course of addictive gambling.
380  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: February 16, 2024, 04:59:51 AM
It's obvious you're talking about sports betting and i don't know if I have a set down strategy in placing my bet but most of them are based on a bit of analysis on the strength of the both teams involved in the game and them I might sometimes go through some popular prediction to kind of know what others feel about the outcome of the match and then I place my bet.

But from my experience so far, apart from teams that have been consistent in their game of play like Manchester City, arsenal and Liverpool, i dont believe much in the strength of the team while betting. Most of this clubs can just do well today and all of a sudden you see them with a huge loss. But it's actually good to kind of have a strategy that will stand as an help and guide for you.
