362  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker and Casino with BICOIN - a new site-www.bitworldpoker.com on: September 27, 2011, 03:21:54 AM
Just out of curiosity -- what happened to this site? It was up for like 3 days and disappeared  Huh

I asked him in another thread what happened to the site that this one was obviously copied from.

He then tried to sell the domain like 2 hours later.

Draw your own conclusions.  Cheesy

Which one?

Zerohedge has been doom and gloom for years yet the world keeps turning and it is business as normal.

You can make lots of money in a down market.  The trick is to short things then go on TV and say everythings about to crash.

I bet you that is exactly what he did.  As they say on Eve Online, Trust No One.

370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGox unfair business practice. on: September 18, 2011, 04:48:50 PM
MTgox requires ID and Proof of address. When I first sign up with them, they did not ask for these information. Now, I have btc and USD in their account and they are asking me to send these documents. What happens if I don't? Will they take my btc and USD? Help?! Please.

You've obviously never signed up for stock trading before, THOSE are invasive, Mtgox is just doing a good business practice for their volume.

372  Economy / Gambling / Guidelines on How to Gamble with Bitcoins Safely [BitJack21 Blog] on: September 17, 2011, 04:08:43 PM
Quote
There have been a whole slew of new bitcoin gambling sites lately.  With such an expanding marketplace, it is wise to keep a number of things in mind before playing a new game that catches your eye.

1) Is the website established?

Before sending a site your bitcoins you should ask yourself, is anyone using this site? Does the website have users that love it?  Check to see how long they have been making posts and announcements.  You can also do a quick check on the bitcoin forums at...

373  Economy / Gambling / BitJack21.com Banner Ad Contest: 2 - 4BTC prize! on: September 16, 2011, 07:12:14 PM
Following Jon's great idea at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=37185.0 I need banners for www.BitJack21.com

So the same rules apply: 2btc are allocated for the creation of multiple, quality Banner Ads. This thread will vote on your banners, and they will go live.

If you can come up with a great unique logo for BitJack21 you can also get a 2btc prize for that too.

Thanks!

I for one greatly appreciate how you handled the hack in a mostly professional and quick manner. You undoubtedly spent a long number of hours to the forum over this incident and the bitcoin community is stronger for that.  Hats off sirs.

380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Isn't Mtgox multiple currency trading kind of a sham? on: September 09, 2011, 01:11:56 AM
Has anyone else noticed that although https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20413328-mt-gox-opens-15-new-currency-markets this is true and Mtgox accepts these currencies... all the trading is simply silently converting those currencies into USD?  What about actual API data (so that charts and graph data) can be shown in the 15+ bitcoin/currency values?
