Is there any way to compile this miner using gcc 4.4, instead of 4.5 or above?
I'd like to avoid having to install gcc 4.5 if possible - everything on my system is stable and I'd rather not use an experimental library if possible.
I'm using new useful C++0x features: nullptr, scoped enums... They still can be emulated on old compilers, but I have not time to test the software with all compilers. VC2010 and latest GCC are mainstream. |

Is there a flag to set the priority/aggression? This would allow to set-up a second (backup) miner in case the first one has connection issues..
Windows CMD shell has such flag: start /belownormal bitcoin-miner.exe... |

Dear ufasoft,
(SetThreadPriority(THREAD_PRIORITY_IDLE)).
Current version works nice but if I try to use other applications when bitcoin-miner.exe is working then windows freezes for several seconds every minute. This is a big headache for me.

Now CPU threads work on THREAD_PRIORITY_LOWEST. And they don't freeze other applications. But windows freeze because the miner uses GPU, and Thread Priority has no effect on GPU. |

Thank you for bug report! FIXED, please redownload source code. Reason: printf("%I64X", ...) don't work in GCC (it is VC extension), should be printf("%llX", ...). |

I want to compile it by myself for windows but I am a coding beginner. I think I can not use the linux source without modifications ? Is the windows source available too?
Really sources are common for both Windows and Linux, but compilation under VS 2010 requires additional libs: pcre, and may be some other dependencies. |

ufasoft - so many of us are having trouble compiling the Linux sources, how about just posting a link to binaries for core2duo on linux.
There are problems with -static building of application. Without -static it will work only on system, where it was compiled. |

Какая именно скорость ? И какая видеокарта ?
Если 2 МХ/с, например, то понадобится в среднем более получаса на каждую шару. При 10 МХ/с - около 7 минут.
Если скорость достаточно высокая, а шар всё равно нет - проверить, правильно ли написано имя и пароль в минере, выбран ли нужный пул в нём, включить консоль и посмотреть наличие в ней ошибок.

Соответственно, иногда после запуска с ключом -g yes майнер полминуты-минуту работает со скоростью 30 MHash/s (ну и, соответственно, чувствуется, что видюха нагружается - окошки подтормаживают), а потом вдруг сбрасывает скорость - и именно на 5 Mhash/s (то есть скорость, характерную для майнинга без использования видеокарты). Ну и вроде бы окошки подозрительно не тормозят Значит API видеокарты в какой-то момент выдает ошибку (может нехватка ресурсов) и работа с ней отрубается. Я сделаю отладочную версию с выводом всех ошибок. Насколько я понимаю, поддержку long-pooling-а я сейчас никакими ключами отключить не смогу?
Отключить нельзя, но в 0.9 это исправлено: используются no-cache в HTTP-заголовках, и опции WinINET API запрещающие кэширование. |

Спасибо Я что-то их все перепробовал, Ваш майнер единственный, который умеет работать с моей домашней ATI Mobility Radeon HD
Вероятно потому что для Вашей карты не установлен OpenCL-драйвер. А ufasoft-miner использует ассемблер CAL IL. избавить майнер от "потери" видеокарты - некритично, но немного неудобно все-таки]
Как это проявляется? скорость падает? в версии 0.8 была ошибка с Long-Polling, WinINET API через пару минут работы начинал отдавать ответ на GET-запрос из кэша, что приводило к зацикливанию на одинаковых данных. Может это было причина? |

tor и proxy?
Я думаю, что ufasoft miner ниасилит через тор и прокси Осилит, если это кому-то нужно. Есть 2 варианта: 1. Встроить работу через прокси HTTP/SOCKS 2. Встроить Tor-клиент внутрь программы. Наверное вариант 1. пока будет достаточен, связать майнер и внешний TOR квалифицированный пользователь сможет. |

By some way you are compiling ELF-file (.o) instead of .asm. It is stange. Please look at generated Makefile |

Yes, some improvement for CPU can be made only for: 1. x64 because it has more registers. 2. CPUs with AVXNice! So Sandy Bridge CPUs should provider better performance..assuming that your miner will be updated to support AVX. Bad news for Everyone: Intel AVX Extensions don't promote "vector integer" operations to 256-bit registers. They doubled performance only for Floating Point operations. So AVX practically useless for Mining. Some improvement can be made by using higher 128-bit part of YMM registers as additional register space only. |

Just tried to compile this on Linux x86-64.
Not tested on x64 yet. I will have time for it on next week. BTW: Version 0.8 released. Added support of Failover extension |
