361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ask about prediction on: September 14, 2023, 11:32:04 PM
I want to ask about how if I giving football or other predictions in this forum. Is it allowed? No feelings. I don't have any purpose and just wanna share what I can.

I don't force anyone to use my prediction because it is just a sharing prediction with all of you.

I'm sure it's allowed but if your prediction thread will be like something a daily diary, better not consider doing it. What I mean is, that you will post a certain match for today, predict who will win or something else, and that's the only thing we can see in the post. If that's the exact thing you will do as you plan, that prediction thread is likely just a spam thread, and your posts are there as well.

It's good to share your prediction with an added analysis and thoughts with sense.

Much better if you also consider posting that prediction on that league discussion thread instead of creating a specific thread.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of country can offer you legal gambling in 2023! on: September 14, 2023, 11:10:15 PM
I found out from google that gambling is legal in some number of countries and still banned in many countries.

This should be obvious even without looking at a Google search. Gambling is illegal in some countries.

But when it says fully illegal or totally banned, there are only a few countries that have a total ban on gambling in general. In most cases, illegal gambling is those gambling types or forms that are not prohibited to play in their jurisdiction. To make it simple, a good example is China where gambling is illegal but they prefer their citizens to only join lotteries.

What do you feel from this that gambling is less ethical?

What do you mean exactly by saying gambling was less ethical?

Ethical or not, gambling was allowed and not allowed in a certain country due to their own respective reasons. If you have a time you can consider searching gambling laws by each countries and make your own analysis from there.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 13, 2023, 11:59:23 PM
Columbian DYIP is expecting they can get Justin Baltazar in the upcoming rookie draft pick but later or sooner we all know that the big man will soon ship to San Miguel Franchise or MVP Group of Companies teams lol. It's good that Baltazar skipped the year's draft pick and he can joined in the next year's draft instead. Under contract to a different league can't just be push but Baltazar should know that in the first place. He might have his own reason and don't want to disclosed it.

The roster of Gilas for the Asian games is truly the typical players that we wanna watch. This is more different from the other one that has participated in the FIBA World Cup. But no offense to them as they are both great rosters and have represented our country in the best that they can.

There are returning players too that exciting to watch like Calvin Abueva and Terrence Romeo.

I hope they can return to their usual athletic shape despite those injuries in the past and already passing their prime.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly wagers in Bitcointalk on: September 13, 2023, 11:50:20 PM
Luckily, trust has been established already that’s why it’s easy to wager with its individual bets and pay after once lose. However, for those who are still new and want to do wagering in bitcointalk, then don’t be too trusting at first. Know your peer well and maybe establish a bond first before you decide to wager with each other. And do not jump into huge bets, who knows your wagering partner can be transparent at first but later on show his true colors and won’t be replying on you anymore. So wager with caution, and as much as possible, do it with your close colleague in bitcointalk.

It's still possible for users that are; new, not active users, or users that fall on the criteria of not being trusted (no offense) to join a friendly wager.

These users should instead comply with the safest measure that can apply whenever they want to do a friendly wager and that is, thru escrow of their bet money to either their opponent (as long as trustworthy) or pick an escrow from regular users on that thread.

These types of users should not be limited to joining just because they are not known. As long as their bet money was escrowed, they are all welcome.
365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia will ban Gambling through credit cards on: September 13, 2023, 11:39:46 PM
If I'm not mistaken, credit cards are really not accepted as a payment method in most gambling sites, in several countries globally. Most banks sometimes don't want to deal with gambling site transactions because of several chargeback issues and the problem with a chargeback is a significant loss to a bank if not successfully solved.

I'm not sure about other card network processors, but the top 2, Visa and Mastercard aren't accepting any transactions involving gambling.

Even in physical casinos, credit cards are not accepted. I mean, money is a showoff in a physical casino, not thru credit.

367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fan of casino reviews online? This is a must-read on: September 06, 2023, 10:42:52 PM
I'm not really looking at or following various casino review sites even how popular they are....

..with the exception of BTCGOSU by our very own @efialtis

Website: https://www.btcgosu.com/
Announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5262141.0

They specifically noted that:

Please note that while we try to provide as objective and unbiased reviews as possible, the final sites's ratings (and therefore sites' rankings) are not based on our own score but on our visitor's ratings. Anyone who registers can rate any operator we feature on BTCGOSU. We are of course tracking this to make sure the system is not being abused.

Trustpilot already achieved popularity by being one of the most followed review sites.

But always keep in mind that when it comes to researching a certain website, it's good that we all rely on all possible options we can look at just to extract more details about a certain site. It's also good to see those websites that have an official community discussion group not just here in the Bitcointalk forum but on other forums as well, or channels.
368  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not for everyone! on: September 06, 2023, 10:02:41 PM
Basically a starter, that's why they called "newbies" right? How can they even understand everything if they are still in the learning process? They won't understand that piece of advice of yours since they are not even experiencing the real pressure in actual crypto trading.

Just let them do what they want in trading since after all, there's a certain factor that acts as their source of trading information why they end up on that said strategy. These newbies are just in the learning phase and they are new to the trading environment.

We don't need to tell them that trading is not for everyone. Later or sooner, there will be newbies that will be realized if they will continue to do trading or not.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 06, 2023, 09:35:34 PM
Controlling our emotions in gambling just basically means, we won't turn irresponsible along the way.

It doesn't have to do with winning more bets especially if we refer to playing luck-based gambling games such as dice, slots, roulettes, and so on. Even on sports betting, controlling the emotion won't add even a bit of a percentage of chances of winning as what the emotion covers here is, the amount of bankroll that will be placed on a bet or analyzing what the best odds to choose - staying at average odds or risking more money at huge odds.

It isn't really necessary to always keep in mind to control emotions, especially in gambling. There are other things to prioritize rather than that.

As long as we continue to gamble, our emotions will automatically adapt to the situation.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Constant wins in the casino for several days, then constant losses. Noticed?! on: September 06, 2023, 09:09:09 PM
Playing for many years, I observe a certain series of wins and losses. It looks like it every time! Also in casino chats, a lot of people talk about it.

Most of the time the casino takes the money. But when the winning session comes, on this day many slots give you a solid win, it is impossible to lose. This successful session can last several days.
As soon as this ends, absolutely all slots begin to take money.

What you noticed is actually not surprising since in the first place, in gambling, you have to accept that losing is more often to happen than winning. If winning in gambling is something so easy to achieve, then it's not gambling anymore since the outcome is more sided in winning. I doubt there will be a casino establishment if that will always be the case.

Just be used to it. If you are on a losing streak, then stop in the meantime. Don't blame it on a pattern.

Slots is a game of luck. What do you expect it will give to gamblers, mostly wins?
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: September 06, 2023, 08:42:37 PM
But indeed, most people will feel that they are in very good luck, so they must make the best use of this by continuing to play gambling. But he didn't think about what would happen if after continuing to play the gamble, he suffered a defeat that would even eat up all of his winnings. That would hurt him a lot. And if he doesn't want to experience it, he better quit and leave the casino before he changes his mind and continues gambling. And each gambler must understand the consequences so that before they jump to conclusions, they already know the risks.

If we really do feel lucky during our gambling session, almost the majority here will surely not stop and will just continue to play.

"Since we are lucky after all, why should we stop?".

That kind of mindset fuels us to play more since we believe that luck is on our side. That's where the critical stage is where the gambler needs to make a decision wisely if they will cashout their profit now and exit their session even if they are still lucky or continue to play since it's just a rare moment that they will experience being lucky.

Gamblers understand the consequences and they know what will happen if they play more but they ignore that fact and face the risks instead.
372  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: September 06, 2023, 12:06:05 PM
In my opinion, a person who becomes aware of the environment and knows the harms there, does not panic and get emotional in any unfortunate situation; However, the uninitiated can easily fall prey to it.

It takes time though to become fully ready and prepared for the stressful environment outside.

Same with trading, it takes time for these traders to know how to adapt to any given market situation and trend. One should not stick to a single or few strategies even how effective are those since the crypto-market behaves unexpectedly and sometimes, gives us a surprise the moment we wake up.

Fine to lose at the start, fine to being carried away by emotions, sooner or later, once experience builds up, a trader will know how to deal with their emotion and even amid pressure and lose, they can still bounce back and goes back in the game.
373  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unethical Practices: Involvement of Bots and Fake Accounts for contest/race on: September 06, 2023, 08:22:34 AM
I understand your sentiment but without solid proof, and as you clearly mentioned, this is just an allegation.

What to do now? Then stop using the site anymore if you think that will be good for you. It's always better to warn the community about certain issues regarding a site but only if there's solid proof about it or you itself experienced it for real and you showed every inch of the story here loud and clear.

A contest with a leaderboard is really prone to suspicious attempts of bot participants since users don't have any way to be able to look at the system behind it. Even if there's a way, it needs and requires a technical knowledge level to determine how's it going. But these sites won't ruin their reputation just to have their own bot participate in the tournament. It's hard to build a reputation, especially in crypto-gambling that's why these sites care for it seriously.
374  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you expect better, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? on: September 06, 2023, 07:41:56 AM
Hey all, I am new here: I've been reading a lot, and not posting much at first. You have a great place to learn at BCT. When trading crypto do you expect better, from yourself, but then impulsively jump into things due to FOMO? Has anyone reading this ever found a cure? How do you permanently change and naturally be patient? Thanks all.

Being under FOMO is just a typical thing to experience here in crypto. It's normal.

Not totally wrong to have a mindset and behavior like that as long as you know how to deal with the risks and you really understand what you are up to. How long have you been in crypto now? Experience will teach how to deal with FOMO and ways to manage it along the way. Others considered that emotion as a disadvantage when in fact, it can be an advantage if practiced right especially for experienced crypto-traders.

How to become patient? As I mentioned, experience is the key. Just build experience and later on, you will used to getting along with it. You don't need to rush everything. Just ride the wave as much as you can. On the way while you are in progress, you will automatically know what's the best thing to do depending on the market situation.
375  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 06, 2023, 06:35:10 AM
Let's suppose you have a limited budget which can be used only for one of the alternatives below:

What is the best investment, in your opinion? To use this money to pay for your education, so you can conclude a superior course and achieve a higher degree, having access to a wide jobs' market, or to use that money to acquire an apartment, house or piece of land, so you can make a passive income from this?

It brings the following question up: what is more valued in life: to be or to have? Does it make someone fulfilled to have while not being or being without having anything?

There are means to still pursue education without spending too much. That's why there are public schools and at the university level, there's a scholarship program. Should not be that hard to comply with the requirements as long as the person is eager and determined to finish the goal.

There's still lots of room to cover the desire to put money into real estate and with proper money management, both can be successfully done. There's no need for another one to be left behind. I know and understand the feeling of others that their respective diploma didn't give them a chance to land a good job but I don't want to discourage not having an education.

The question is subjective. Responses can't applied generally in most situations. Follow what you believe is right.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 06, 2023, 05:57:31 AM
I still can't see odds on this fight. But I am expecting Casimero to be the favorite. Oguni is not really a solid fighter that would threaten Casimero. He's not in the current rankings in his division. Although this fight will happen in Oguni's home country and that is his advantage, I don't see how Casimero would be affected. Casimero has been entering lions den in the past, going to his opponents' backyard and win. If the ML odds for Casimero isn't that low, it's a safe bet.

Regarding my recent checking at some major boxing odds preview sites, the odds for this fight is not available yet.

There's no doubt that John Riel Casimero will be the favorite here being ranked #10 by The Ring, ranked #6 by the WBC, and ranked #3 by the WBO while on the other hand, Yukinori Oguni isn't even ringing a bell for being a strong contender and just staying at his comfort zone for long.

Should be another win for Casimero as it really should be no matter what. Losing against a not even consider a strong contender does mean that says goodbye on his quest of becoming a world title holder again. Easy road to being ranked facing unpopular boxers on the way. Good progress indeed to become close on being a title contender. Smiley

377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Get a signal Source on Bitcoin. on: September 05, 2023, 11:58:25 PM
There are lots of sources nowadays about/teaching how to deal with market trading and determining trading signals.

Might be in the form of an article, on websites, personal blogs, social media platforms, messaging groups, or a video, etc. I'm not against it as long as there's no subscription needed and no such thing as paying for a premium subscription just to get a so-called premium signal. If that source is effective for everyone, they can take it as a reference if they want on their future trading decision.

But to minimize what's best, it's good to only rely to follow on a certain trading analyst with good and complete details of their stated analysis and not just say "bitcoin will reach $$$ tomorrow" or "Buy this #### at $$$$" etc. A detailed and professional analysis is more interesting to follow on these traders when giving an analysis to everyone.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 05, 2023, 11:48:21 PM
If this rumor is true, then I think it would break the hearts of the fans who are longing to see Coach Tab coach the Gilas Pilipinas. I understand why people want him because he has already proven himself. When he was coaching the team, there were lots of praises for the team, even though Gilas did not advance to the biggest stage.

I doubt it's a big blow on the Nationals. Coach Tab might be eyeing for long by everyone to handle again the Nationals but it's not only him as the best candidate. Who is the other coach that everyone wants? It's right directly on the Gilas Coaching Staff, none other than Brgy. Ginebra Head Coach, Tim Cone.

Coach Tim was already present at most Gilas preparation events in their FIBA World Cup journey since the qualification and window games. He was also given a chance to become an assistant head coach last year at the invitation of Miami Heat head coach Eric Spoelstra. He can utilize more of what should be the best play when Scottie Thompson and Japeth Aguilar are on the floor. And when it's time now for activating Justin Brownlee once JC is not available anymore, Coach Tim knows more what to do on the rotation.

I'm looking forward to him becoming the Gilas head coach after Coach Chot.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 05, 2023, 11:42:25 PM
Although, after saying that, that also means that we're truly underestimating Tapales here because we're already assuming that by then Inoue is still the champion and that Tapaes was just a mere ladder to achieve Inoue's target.

Underestimating might not be the best word to describe the majority take on this fight. We are just looking at the closest possible thing to happen.

Don't get me wrong, even though I'm with Tapales to win the fight, it's still tough for me to think how can he even make an upset against Inoue. The Japanese monster is ahead of everything compared to Tapales. We can't compare Naoya Inoue to Murodjon Akhmadaliev, the one that Tapales upset why he became a champion. We can't also compare this to starting Pacquiao when he was chosen as a replacement to fight Marco Antonio Barrera. Back then, Pacquiao was already showing potential. About Tapales, he just started to become special because of the upset win and becoming a champion.

Tapales has a low chance of beating Inoue but since he's my fellow countrymen, I will put a bet on him to show support.

Unethical move by me? No, it's just that low chance still has a chance.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots with the purchase of bonus games - is it good or bad? on: September 05, 2023, 11:34:13 PM
A few years ago, slots appeared with the purchase of bonus games. Within a short period of time, almost every software has implemented this feature.
For me, the game of slot machines has changed a lot. The winnings in the regular bonus have become smaller, and the purchase of bonuses breaks the whole ideology of slot machines. By the way, the chances of a big win in purchased bonuses are much higher, but I do not like to buy them.
How do you feel about slots with purchasable bonuses? Would you like to do everything as it was before, without buying bonuses?

Don't make an assumption such as bonuses have become smaller, winnings got low, and every negative thought you think is because of the buy bonus. There's no direct connection that the buy bonus feature affects those thoughts you have mentioned if we look at the technical aspect.

Game providers won't bother to reduce payouts since in the first place the bonus feature does have a cost and it's not free. It's even risky to purchase a bonus as in most cases, you will only receive small payouts in the end not covering the amount you have paid for it.

Simply, don't blame your negative experience that leads to negative views on this buy bonus. We are talking about gambling here and there's no 100% chance of winning here. If you are losing much, just take a break and don't make things too complicated.
