362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [WTB] KNC Titan on: December 08, 2016, 07:17:57 PM
I am looking to buy two KNC Titans, if anyone has one to sell, with or without a PSU, let me know Smiley I can make a good offer. Been looking for another for ages with no avail!

363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: WTB Soon: KNC Titan on: December 08, 2016, 11:25:47 AM
If anyone has one I am highly interested Smiley

Someone on ebay is trying to sell ONE cube for £700 with a burned PCI-E connector and someone selling a faulty one for £400! The ebay prices have lost sanity  because I can get an A4 dominator for £2000.

If anyone has one, cash waiting ready to buy!

364  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Cold Storage with Electrum on: December 07, 2016, 11:51:56 PM
I will admit I find a good hardware wallet and safe storage of the seed a substitute for cold storage, easy but secure access with the additional security of the HW wallet and the paper cold storage of the wallet's seed.
365  Bitcoin / Mining / Antminer R4 - My Project on: December 07, 2016, 11:16:22 PM
I am buying an antminer R4 from a member on here. I have decided that due to living in a colder climate, me and my partner are going to do our own custom painted casing of a nice fake fireplace which we can slip the R4 into.

Colder winter months this will act as a 24/7 fan heater, summer months I can remove the miner from the fake 'fire' and put it in the brick and mortar shed where I have destined the rest of the farm to be. Has proper electrics wired in by a qualified electrician so I am happy. Homeplugs to bring Ethernet into there means I am away!

A novel thing to do with the antminer R4, I think it will look sexy and will be able to make money in the process, I have a lock in with sainsburys energy for two years with a 10.6p day and 4.5p night rate (economy 7) (I have never found a deal like it, it averages at 8 pence I think, you cant get this rate getting it with them directly) when the promo ran out I was able to convince them to lock me onto the rate for two years. *rubs hands together*

I will add that in the UK energy that cheap is simply unheard of in a residential property. the best deal I could find outside of it was 7p night 11.5p day rate. I will make the most of this tariff while I have it!

In the winter heating cost is needed anyway so I wouldn't class that as eating into mining profit from a machine like this, in the summer it would but I can move it out the way so as not to bake!

366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: New Bitcoin virus on: December 07, 2016, 06:55:55 PM
With malware on your system whatever you do if your not using a hardware wallet DO NOT enter your wallet passphrase. Once opened the malware can grab the now unencrypted keys that are in system memory. Backup your wallet, ensure it is backed up, then format!

wallet.dat for bitcoin core, electrum lets you make a wallet backup unless you already have your seed.

368  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many times have you've been scammed? on: December 05, 2016, 06:45:16 PM
I have had a few attempts to scam me on here, using fake ognasty links and fake bitcointalk sites.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From your own selfish perspective, where do you want bitcoin to end up? on: December 05, 2016, 06:44:33 PM
Mass adoption or a known digital store of wealth. There are some ways to go before adoption though, this block-size issue is a problem at the moment.

374  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: December 01, 2016, 10:13:11 PM
Isn't there a way of doing it where you can get the address for them but not know the private key? I am sure there was with vanitygen but i havn't used it in a while. Someone with a farm of GPU rigs could do this for him if it is possible. Do not use that vanity creator site, i have heard of coins being stolen from those.. I would be willing to put a couple of GPUs onto it for a fee when I have moved if we can do it without me knowing the private key. I have a few GPUs at my command which I could use...
375  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 218 blocks solved! on: December 01, 2016, 10:10:14 PM
The fact you have reimbursed the miners... You are one man of integrity, and the reason I solo on this pool.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Best hardware to mine monero on (nov 2016) on: November 30, 2016, 02:57:41 PM
The benchmark site helped a lot, thanks!

I had a look at the opteron solution, it sounds promising but the boards are difficult to find and get extremely expensive, i think the graphics cards do make for the best solution and are easier to resell later if need be!

I am in the UK but with much bargaining and hunting for power companies i ended up with my power company (sainsburys energy) if i do the math of peak/offpeak prices i average out at 7 pence per kWh. My rate is locked in for two years as well, i would be amazed if i could find such a deal again...

I am interested in another KNC titan, now the A4 dominator is out i would have thought i would have found some but alas, they seem hard to find!

Anyone have any they are willing to part with? Time to use it to warm my house up this winter!

378  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Here is the solution to the unconfirmed transaction spam on: November 30, 2016, 02:07:45 PM
20 GPUs would be barely the equiv. of an antrouter, I wouldn't  go this route.

That said I know someone who got a 2B share on a GPU at 500MH/s

379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Best hardware to mine monero on (nov 2016) on: November 27, 2016, 12:03:21 AM
I am looking at mining monero as a hobby as I love to build extreme systems but I am looking to get the highest hashrate possible for the lowest priced hardware possible. I have a budget of around £1500, I am not too concerned about electricity costs or even to profit exactly, this is just an experiment I will do for a year. I was leaning towards Xeon CPUs, unless there are any other ideas!

With £1500 if I am frugal, is it possible to get 4kH/s or more? Also what is the best software? I have not considered many altcoins, but I like monero. I own a few coins. As we are in the winter months, it can double up as heating...

It is a system I can probably  build very soon once I have the information on it. What gives the best hashrate 'bang for buck' if you will? As there seems to be quite a few more variables with cryptonight which affect hashrate. I am debating one of the 12 core 24 thread Xeons but again, I am looking for the best hashrate / value for money, and the hardware is expensive and there is limited data to test what is worth the money or not.

380  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase multisig vault - bug unable to withdraw? on: July 13, 2016, 10:38:07 PM
Do you have your keys and passphrase backed up somewhere? If so then you can withdraw using these tools:
https://github.com/coinbase/multisig-tool
http://coinbase.github.io/multisig-tool/

Yeah, i knew my passphrase from memory despite its long and random nature i learn them well; and i had the user key backed up so moved them that way. The paper backup you print out from the vault and the multisig recovery tool.
