THX, I'm just tracking topic about it in bitcoin-qt it claims it works in linux, and it was working in windows but due to instability it was disabled.
I believe it is very important and probably quite simple to implement feature.

OK, great, but is that supported by official bitcoin client?
363  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin payment link. on: July 10, 2012, 09:17:42 AM
Hey, I'm sure it is somewhere on the forum, but I couldn't find it, maybe you could help me?

I'm looking how to set a payment link on a website. Like I have mailto:surname@domain.com in a A href or Magnet link, just an URI which will allow installed bitcoin client to open and just ask me if I accept payment and amount, like when you click on the mailto mail client opens or if you have set it up gmail webclient opens, so bitcoin could work like that, is there thread about implementation of sth like that? I think it is very important.
As I said I'm sure that there have to be thread about it but Icand find where, I will be glad if someone could redirect me.

"The supply will increase dramatically"
But how?

BTW If bitcoin will replace most of currency then I will use this compare:
currently FOREX is 3000000000$ per day
Bitcoin is sth about 50000 per day so in $ it is 350000
so it will get to the poin forex is it will increase 8500x (3000000000/350000)
So bitcoin will have power of about 60000 current $ without thinking about population increase, so if it will be like that 100BTC will be enough to live just with bank interest if they won't decrease.
Oh and that speculation point that 1$ will be sth like 10 uBTC.
Who have more precise speculation?

It's so quiet here, everyone have holidays?
Is there another place with speculations about these bonds?

There is always some funny things around 6,66 66,6 or 3,141592.. and so on. Smiley but personaly I would prefer REAL bitcoin devil face - 666$ per BTC Cheesy
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about Bitcoin? on: June 27, 2012, 07:07:41 PM
Heh, I have dreamed about such a currency in 2008/2009 and talking to my friends about to my friends making them bored to death, but I heard about bitcoin in 2011 in some article about some big amount of bitcoin stolen, and then I thought This is it! I'm thinking about it all the time and asking myself should I buy more bitcoins now and if not how much I will regret it in the future!
368  Economy / Economics / Re: Speculate about the year 2020 on: June 25, 2012, 02:17:07 PM
Hmm... so if you could buy a house with 1BTC then as long time age there wear gold prospectors there would be bitcoin prospectors who will search through old discs DVD B-D usb sticks looking for not spend, unused Bitcoins forgotten 20 years ago for example because someone had thrown out old usb stick with some BTC and as old maps there would be these forum database and scripts saying that someone had lost his disc due to small error and let couple bitcoin go away.

How do you find that idea? Bitcoin prospectors looking in dumps for old discs etc?

There is NO problem.

OK, I have exaggerated.
And after all it would be wonderful, I'm jyst like a gay who says "If I will win 1 M $ it will cause problems i.e. where to store so much paper, where to buy bags for that and so on..."

It's too late here so I'll better go asleep than posting.

I think it could be done with couple years time to give people time to get used to new standard, and it would have to be moving decimal point to solve it once forever.
371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Doomed to vanish? on: June 23, 2012, 07:52:21 PM
I think people will voluntarily start adopting mBtc milli-btc values or .00X once the value of whole bitcoins becomes unobtainable.  There is a thread somewhere stating that bitcoin is not designed for micro transactions which will be a bigger long term problem for the developers to solve but does not appear to me to be an unsolvable issue and will only likely become an issue 10+ years from now.

The coins that get lost or hoarded indefinitely merely reduce the supply of coins and cause a raise in value of the commodity.

And remember a quadrillion number is a huge number, even that US national debt is in the trillians and the government operating budget is a couple trillian the last I remember.

I just try to be sceptical, but I agree.

There is thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89184.0
and some other about these.

I will leave this topic for next decade. Smiley
And simple to solve:
"It's important to understand that it's actually possible to run the entire world economy with just 1 single bitcoin, although we would need to add a few more decimals."

There is problem described there what if coins will get out of circuit (lost or saved for long by people), and bitcoin will adopt global for everyone like dollars today?

To deal with this I have get some example data:

Current dollars in circuit now: 1 to couple of T (trillions) (1

Maximum smallest units of bitcoin: 2,100,000,000,000,000( I believe that I don't have to give source here
(21MBTC plus 8 digits after 0)

So if even we will count all currency possible it is worth sth in maximum scale in hundreds of T$ lets say approximately there is 1P$ (10^15 of all currencies)

So even if bitcoin will replace all currencies with only 21MBTC it will give ~2BTC for 1$ look like sth that was calculated well by Satoshi but what about with:
1) cents (if 1$ would be 0.00000001 it would be not small enough to buy can of cola, for both)
2) global birthrate (we will need more and more coins)
3) most dangerous effect of BTC lost if 3% (do you think it is to much?) of bitcoin will be lost we will run out of bitcoin sth between 2030 and 2035

Am I right?

For me printing more bitcoins is stupid idea, but can't we simply change protocol to have values with moving dot, is it technically possible and at all good idea? Maybe someone have started somewhere thread about moving point but as long as I'm locked in  newbies I wanted to write it here.

In the and sorry for my bad spelling or sth, just rough data and calculations for estimation.

I'll bet that next year 1BTC > 10USD.
I think if nothing bad happens (like another stupid exchange hack or something) we might even see it this year.

EUR/BTC recently went from ± 3.9 to ± 5.4 (that's almost 40% up!) in roughly one month.

Don't you think that now it is resistant for local (by local I mean some single page like exchange or so) problems or fails proofed by last course insensitivity for some minor local fails.

Would you agree?

376  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: June 23, 2012, 08:36:16 AM
Hi, I have registered couple days ago. I want to ask a technical question, or even start a discussion, even if I wont get to the white list I don't care because I'm just 3 posts to Jr.

I'm a regular Bitcoin user already mining since last year with about 0,5 Gh/s, I have interested lots of my friends in bitcoin, two of them are actually mining now with more than 2Gh/s together.

I have already paid with bitcoin for my lunch once Smiley (friend wanted to pay for me and take bitcoins instead)

Oh, and I'm a HPC Linux admin for a living, but I spend tens or even hundreds of hours reading and watching about bitcoin technology and community.

So I hope I'm advanced enough to post here and in other categories, and I'm writing here just because I don't want to post useless and boring just to get to the right forum part.
