-A decentralized exchange would be cool if it is possible. Seems less likely that funny business would occur.
-Bitcoin Insurance is good like OP suggested.
-Bitcoin Lawyer app would be good.

How many confirmations are needed?
303 for polo. Wtf are you serious? It doesn't take that long for the 303 confirms.

Boring can mean accumulating more before halving. Halving may have no effect on price but just in case . . .

Among the scams there is important innovation occurring. We are witnessing a new way of funding projects and promoting innovation - crowdsourcing. Crypto is at the front of the decentralization movement which is going to influence technology in the future.

If there were a single company that could be labeled the most evil and destructive to what Bitcoin represents, it would be Coinbase.
i choose Mtgox. haha. I am not sure I would say that CoinBase is the most evil either. I have not had a problem with Coinbase and have actually enjoyed my experience there with customer service and overall functionality. As for the title OP - maybe use the word "scammed" when referring to an entity after you have proven they have actually done something.

More and more regulation articles are popping up, a few from Japan yesterday too. Regulations can add some legitimacy to Bitcoin but I am at a loss at how they can actually regulate something decentralized. Since exchanges are essentially centralized this may be the only thing that could be regulated and probably should be.

Thanks for sharing, I agree it is great to hear about bitcoin outside of this message board Bitcoin and games = more adoption. This will increase and thanks to Steam.

Lisk launch post-mortem: What went right, what went wrongYesterday, at exactly 8pm UTC, we published Lisk v0.3.0 and announced the launch of Lisk. What a launch that was! In this post-mortem we bring light to the problems we faced, explain why our web login isn’t/wasn’t accessible, and clear up misunderstandings. First of all, I’d like to apologise for the rough launch and the harm that the DDoS attack caused. Since the launch, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that all our systems are working perfectly again. We simply didn’t anticipate this overwhelming demand and trading chicanery. The only problem we still face at this moment are our web logins. The reason is the same as yesterday: huge amount of traffic and ongoing DDoS attacks. However, everything else is working very well. Users can install Lisk on various operation systems like Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Local client installations are functional and the Lisk network is alive and healthy. Read our complete post-mortem now! Great to know that NO Lisks were lost, they are all still in the wallets or now at exchanges - that itself is an accomplishment in light of the forces attacking your servers. I was able to use grumlin's node successfully to move some and the rest are sitting in my wallet while I watch this technology mature. Keep up the good work!

3.5x my money fuck yeah! Gonna buy back in when it drops again. it might not.. good luck with that. As things get fixed and the dust settles this will continue to rise. Just a rough launch, still great tech.

While I cant recommend non-official wallets.
I used grumiln's wallet with no issues, and moved my coins no problem.
Confirmed. Finally, i moved my coins with this one. I tried this one again and get the error that there are 0 coins yet I can see my coins in the dashboard. Same thing happening on all of the other lisk nodes. Try sending with 0.1 LISK subtracted from the total (the fee). So, if your account has 351.4823 LISK, try sending 351.3823 LISK That worked! Super helpful thanks!

There is to a newer news on this topic from April this year. It seems as if the development is sustainable, although there are only a few projects so far. To have a major impact, it must be even more widespread in Afghanistan. https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/code-to-inspire-bitcoin-gives-afghan-women-financial-freedom-1460652348I am not that impressed. This news is 2 years old and we didn't hear anything more about development of that Afghan bitcoin movement. It might be a dead end to propagate bitcoin adoption in a country which has problems a lot worse than building bitcoin user base.
Good to see the news is ongoing with this. Bitcoin has the ability to do this globally for all the financially repressed.

So who and why would someone/group DDOS Lisk on launch?
A: An investor who wanted to get their coins into an exchange first to sell high with the added option to buy back low. B: Individual or team from another coin so investors would sell and invest in them. C: Someone who missed out to invest in the ICO and wanted coins at a lower price or to cause harm. D: Another exchange.
Hopefully some more info will emerge in next few days.
Disclaimer: I am guilty of buying up some cheap coins myself, and why you might ask, with the team and all the delegates, (a lot of other coins don't have that many committed people) working to bring in improvement. I am willing and betting to give it a few months, then see where we are and look forward to using the new Apps.
That's serious, may compromise a lot of others ICOs and projects. I agree, this puts a cloud over all new projects and ICO in my opinion. If it was indeed a DDOS attack then this indicates Lisk is a serious player and someone or a group of people wanted to mess with it out the gates and they succeeded. I am sure that Lisk dev team is as down about this as ICO holders that just wanted to at least access their wallet and see their coins. In a way I am ok with it all because when people start using Lisk it will move in price and I may have regretted selling. I will hold and watch. It's a new day, cheer up everyone.

It worked, I was able to send from wallet. Thank you!

I can now login and see my Lisk, I can then press send button and enter in address to exchange, when I press send nothing happens.

disappointed in the blockchain right now

Did you see that Andreas Antonopolous tweeted asking where lisk would be traded? Can someone post that?
Just one important point: if you're planning to buy Lisk on that basis, to follow Andreas Antonopolous, you're best to follow him in another way: hold what you buy over the long term. That's exactly what the big cats do. In other words, hold until (say) New Year's Eve 2017. Exactly this!

Did you see that Andreas Antonopolous tweeted asking where lisk would be traded? Can someone post that?
There are about 15 posts in the last couple of pages answering this question You missed my point. I was not asking where lisk will be traded. I was, instead, noting the fact that Andreas Antonopolous was asking this on Twitter. To me, the fact that he's interested in lisk is a very good sign because of his reputation. I was also asking if someone could post his tweet here as proof. But, I get that my question wasn't entirely clear. Yes, it is ALL about Andreas Antonopolous simply asking about Lisk.

You can put all your caffeinated drinks away. There won't be a midnight launch. It's always midnight somewhere. is this midnight in Europe or US? When is it safe for US to sleep haha?

So basically, the money that is wasted on the ICO will go to some jerk's pockets, who will then use it to buy a sweet car? Great! Sign me up - I love subsiding hedonism.
yes, pics of cars are a bit much and tacky. Lisk is interesting and if it works the way it is presented it will be a game changer because developers can use JavaScript. I know some techies that would use this to get into the blockchain world because of JavaScript. I plan to hodl a good percentage to see where this technology goes.
