361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why isn't anyone talking about NULS? on: September 16, 2019, 08:55:42 AM
I have not encountered NULS prior to reading this post. And so it is impossible for me to get impressed by this project or whatever technology or innovation they are putting on the table. However, it is highly untimely to talk of an altcoin's potential right now when the market is clearly siding with Bitcoin. Even top altcoins have not yet recovered from their losses. Although Bitcoin's dominance is going down below 70%, the altcoin market is not yet recovering and is still facing a more bullish Bitcoin in the weeks to come.

But to be fair, when I did a quick check on NULS, it is showing pretty nice figures.

NULS ROI            323.24%
Market Rank   #115

Let's see how it turns out in the months to come.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when a coin reaches the maximum supply??? on: September 16, 2019, 08:07:59 AM

Of course when the maximum supply is reached, the token will start to be scarce, the supply will not be enough, the token price will increase quite quickly

That is at most wishful thinking. Even Bitcoin halving does not guarantee a price increase, let alone a quick one. Adoption is always the key. It means demand. And so with the maximum supply finally reached, and the demand is increasing due to the wider adoption, it is expected that the price will move accordingly. Mining would still continue but there will be no more block rewards. Miners will be dependent on transaction fees.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Raking in Price Charts on: September 15, 2019, 08:20:22 AM
How are those cryptocurrencies ranked in the price charts in Coinmarketcap, Bitscreeneer, Coingecko? Based on what criteria?

Why are there more expensive cryptocurrencies in lower positions than the ones above?

The default ranking of CMC is by marketcap, from the name of the site itself. It is primarily showing rankings based on how much a certain project is valued. Other details are also shown though. Market cap is basically computed as price per coin in circulation times the total circulating supply.

The prices of coins do not matter that much in terms of ranking because of their circulating supply. Even if a certain coin is valued at 1 cent only if it has a much larger circulating supply than the coin which is valued at 1 USD, it will still have a higher market cap. If a coin is valued at 1,000 USD and has only 10 circulating supply, it will still remain at the bottom.

tell us 3 mistakes you do when you start trading

lets start  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

When crypto trading was introduced to me, I was too excited to try. It was more of a bullish season but since I was too eager to try despite the warnings of those who taught me, they allowed me to buy a good amount to start with. I was happy because I've made gains. Little did I know that it was primarily because the market was green all over. The bear season came and I was losing big time. That made me realize how hard it actually was to trade. I started hodling after that.

Another mistake would be chasing prices. If possible avoid that. Stick to your price and do the order.

The third mistake is sticking it out with some coins. That has made some damages to my portfolio. Follow the development. If there is almost zero, sell and make money with other coins.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are the scam projects killing entire crypto space? on: September 13, 2019, 08:03:14 AM
Nope. These scam projects are not enough to kill the ideas of cryptocurrency. The most that they can do is to give crypto a bad name.

Do you think that Bitcoin will die if all altcoins will end up shitcoins? I don't think so. Bitcoin will continue thriving. And before these scam projects will significantly damage the reputation of some great projects such as Bitcoin itself and a handful of altcoins, they are already dead.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE to BTC on: September 12, 2019, 10:42:25 AM
Think twice, mate. Red season is buying season, not selling. Wait for the green days before deciding to sell. DOGE is falling but so are almost all altcoins. I am more than sure that DOGE is going to make a rise when Bitcoin dominance will fall down. At the current dominance, which is at least 70%, you cannot expect altcoins to fare well. That includes DOGE even if it is holding on to the top 30.

if the bounty token is distributed, and MYO tokens are only on Bitforex exchanges, chances are the price of MYO tokens will down, but if the Bounty token is distributed and MYO already has multiple exchanges and large trading volumes, I think it will be fine

I agree with your thoughts, it should be true that the micro job team must work more with other exchange exchanges before the distribution of tokens for the participants begins, but if it only relies on bitforex exchanges, I don't think the price will be down because not all bounty participants will sell the token myo at that moment too.
surely they are thinking about that now, but what I'm asking now is when will the bounty end? why have you discussed distribution for bounty? Is the bounty really going to end week 51? because when you ask in telegram "when the bounty ends" they will definitely answer "soon" to be announced soon, this indicates if bounty has no end date

The bounty has been taking almost a year now. This is the longest that I have encountered. If I am not mistaken, it will end on September. So there are still 2 months left before it ends, provided there will be no more extension and postponement. And then, the information is that the distribution will take at least 6 weeks. So provided everything has no delays, it will finally be distributed in November. That is gonna be more than a year since it started.

What I know after the bounty ends there 6 weeks later is not for distribution but to check spreadsheets because so many join and fake accounts too many so the team takes 6 weeks, while the distribution is unclear how many days after checking.

Yes, they should be doing that. And since the spreadsheet as well as the checking of individual participants are not yet done, this entails a huge task. This will therefore take a long time.

As a matter of fact, their rule is that:

Quote
6. Negative trust members are not allowed to join.

And yet if you look at the participants, I can see a lot of red. The bounty manager seems to be sleeping.

I am extremely disappointed by this project.

I used to be carrying their signature and avatar but then I removed both of them when a rude staff of theirs showed intolerance and extreme hubris for a simple yet legitimate concern coming from someone who tried to help promote their project.

A threat for a ban is not the best way to respond to questions raised.

Why do you delete the signature even though MYO is very good, maybe you ask more rudely so you have a ban by asking your team casually then I'm sure the team will answer it.
maybe you can't wait because MYO's bounty is the longest bounty I've seen, after that PointPay,
you will regret that the prizes given are also quite large

I must be sorry, because I see the gift will be big and indeed, maybe people will get bored with old work, even though the old work will be more effective

Are you guys real supporters of this project? And in what way?

I'm sorry but it appears to me that you are paid for doing this. And sad to say, both of you have red trusts.

roadmap and vision are very good and I really like the project team. they have the same enthusiasm and community managers.
I hope to see the official version of the project for the best experience. After that, I'll come back here and give my comments to improve the app.

Would you care to explicate more on this "same enthusiasm and community managers?"

I've never been rude. That is not my personality. That is why I expect people not to be rude to me as well.

I only asked him through DM to avoid appearing a spam in the main bounty thread. I politely raised my concern with a thanks at the end. That has always been me. He interpreted it as a disturbance and proceeded to threat me with a ban. I wonder how a staff assigned to manage people treat a legitimate performance coming from one of them as a disturbance.

I took offense of course and leave, but not without a wish of success in the end. I was thinking this project could go nowhere if that is how a supporter is being treated.

373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank Of China Is Promoting Bitcoin And It Sounds Very Bullish! on: July 29, 2019, 03:56:01 AM
Is this real? because I just heard an article about China stopping people from using bitcoin. Oh well, the article I'm referring for might be a FUD so its good to see this new article about the support of Bank of China in bitcoin. Its good to have a bullish news, we need this and hopefully China will take that one seriously. Bitcoin being promoted by the banks, is a great honor for us. I can feel the mass adoption because of this.  Smiley

There was a time when china's stance against Bitcoin is on the negative. ICOs, cryptocurrency exchanges, and even mining were once made illegal there. So this is really a great improvement in terms of how the country is treating Bitcoin. This is going to have a nice effect on Bitcoin's value as soon as it is absorbed by the huge chinese populace.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legal and illegal countries on: July 29, 2019, 03:23:41 AM
The countries where Bitcoin is legal is rising by the numbers. And it is undeniable that this huge step by these countries will be a basis for other countries to consider the same. By and by, after one country after another legalizes Bitcoin, those which remain against Bitcoin will be finally convinced. The adoption of Bitcoin is the acceptance of new technologies that will push the walls of the playing field farther, giving the people an alternative mode of payment as a result.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are airdrops safe? on: July 29, 2019, 02:53:34 AM
The way they usually work is they give you some string and you sign it to prove you own the address.

Could a malicious air drop make a transaction sending all your BTC to them, and then you sign it, and then they broadcast it to the network?
Or is signing a message different than signing a transaction?

Never join an airdrop that asks anything from you. That is not an airdrop anymore. By design, airdrops should be completely free. If in exchange for a dime of their worthless coins, you are asked to deposit a certain amount to prove your ownership, or provide your private keys and other private information, or even asks for your personal information, disregard it immediately. That is pure bullshit. As much as possible, you even stay away from airdrops.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: hackers becoming smarter than exchanges? on: July 29, 2019, 02:22:22 AM
It is always a battle of brilliance and skills and knowledge online. The two companies that you mentioned should be ahead of this battle because they have the resources to hire the cream of the crop when it comes to security maintenance. There are individuals who are really brilliant in their field that they can break security protections made my a number or team of people. This is a huge call to these companies to step up or get compromised once more in the future.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin's future. on: July 29, 2019, 01:52:30 AM
The more new coins that are present in the crypto market, will certainly enliven the crypto world. My question is how do you look at the future of the altcoin, with fairly tight competition. Will it affect the price of old altcoins, such as Ethereum, XRP and others.

The more the better. I am still in agreement with this as far as the rise of new projects in the altcoin market is concerned. This is good because this will weed out the shitty ones. The tighter the competition the better for the market. Those that are high quality will prevail over those poorly done. The price is moving according to how solid the project is. It follows such line of argument.
378  Economy / Economics / Re: thoughts on companies becoming too powerful? on: July 27, 2019, 03:15:28 AM
Disney has become the media giant and has been on a spending spree for the last decade buying up different ips.

Facebook has been buying up all their competition and is the dominant social media company and nothing else can compete with it.

Companies become so big and they have enormous power over us, do you think companies like this should be broken up by the government or be allowed to reign supreme?

No, the government should not interfere. They are responsible for them to pay their honest-to-goodness tax dues, to make sure that the employees are well compensated and protected, to see to it that the business declares everything openly, to propagate healthy competition despite bullish growth of some, and so on. The government is not even good at managing their very own backyard, they should not muddle with other private affairs.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Old Bounty Project Or A New Bounty Project? on: July 27, 2019, 02:39:04 AM
You prefer to follow the old bounty project (token already on the exchange) or new bounty project (token in development)
what are your views with them?

I normally do not choose projects according to this basis. But if I were to look back at the projects that I truly supported, I guess the majority of them are already existing projects whose coins have already hit the exchanges and are doing very well. I know I have supported a lot of new projects as well but I can still remember a number of them that ended up at the bottom even if they seem to have the good product. It is safe to say that good old projects are more secure in terms of investment rather than the new ones.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Buy large Volumes of BTC on: July 26, 2019, 02:46:16 AM
Curious to know as to how I can purchase large volumes of BTC. Will be paying cash.

Here in my place, there is an over-the-counter transaction for purchasing large volumes of BTC. But I prefer a peer-to-peer transaction. That would be the best choice. That would be much safer in terms of protecting your identity. I guess you are avoiding doing the purchase through exchanges for the same purpose.
